Morales Guest House

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Morales during our Peru trip, and honestly, it became my favorite part of the whole experience, which surprised me because we were mainly there for the mountains, not the hotel. The location is solid. It's a short walk from downtown Huaraz, close enough that you can grab food or wander around easily, but far enough that you're not dealing with street noise all night. After hiking all day, that peace and quiet made a huge difference. Our room was clean, spacious, and had views of the mountains, which sounds cliché until you're actually sitting there with your morning coffee watching them. Here's what really stood out though: Hisao, the owner. He wasn't just there checking us in, he actually gave us helpful suggestions for what to do, where to eat, which trails were better for our fitness level. When we needed our clothes washed between treks, the staff turned them around fast. The breakfast was legit good, not the typical sad hotel breakfast situation. Fresh fruit, eggs, actual Peruvian food that made sense for what we were about to do. My friend and I appreciated that it felt like staying with someone who genuinely wanted us to have a good time rather than just passing through. There's something about that kind of hospitality that makes a difference, especially when you're traveling.|Would definitely come back if we make it back to Huaraz!

I stayed at the hotel before and after my santa cruz and Huayhuash treks for 6 nights in total. The hotel is very clean and most importantly quiet. There is 24 hrs hot shower, soap , shampoo and towels. The morning breakfast is made to order with a fruit bowl, coffee, bread and cold press coffee. My table was set outside on the verandah to enjoy morning sun and great views. Yovanna who looks after the hotel is a very kind and friendly person. She suggested me a great restaurant next door where I ate almost every night after long day hikes. She also did my laundry thrice after end of each hike. She was always around to speak to and help me with going around Huaraz. This was my first trip to Huaraz and Yovanna helped me in every possible way to navigate around the town and arrange travel when needed.

So happy for our stay at Morales guest house for 3.5 weeks. Caring, friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast with incredible view. Extremely valuable tips and solutions from the owner Isao who helped us make the best choices for mountain climbs. We received here way more than we thought we would. Highly recommend this place to mountaineers, trekkers, hikers and families who want to make the best of their stay in Peru mountains.

This is the first time in my life I’ve seen a hotel literally closed upon arrival, here is my bizarre experience. I arrived at the property around 8 PM. It’s not in the city center, but on a small, quiet street. When I got there, the front gate was completely shut and all the lights were off. I tried everything: ringing the doorbell, calling the phone number, knocking on the gate but nothing worked. Also I even doubt whether I had come to the right place, so I tried walking around to the other side of the building. To do that I had to go through a completely dark alley where several unleashed dogs followed me and barked aggressively. Eventually a local neighbor walked by. He happened to know someone who works at the hotel and called her for me. Only because of him did someone finally come from another location to open the door. It took about 30 minutes just to get inside. As someone traveling alone at night, it was honestly frightening. I don’t even want to imagine what I would have done if I hadn’t met that neighbor. I mean, can you imagine a hotel that is technically “open” but looks completely shut down from the outside? Even if it’s low season, shouldn’t the hotel at least send a message to guests beforehand, confirm arrival times, or JUST MAKE SURE SOMEONE IS PRESENT FOR CHECK IN? Once I entered, the entire hotel was pitch black. The staff member had to turn on the lights one by one. She then told me that I was the only guest during my stay. The property is actually quite large, and realizing that I was the only person inside felt strange. I asked the staff member again and again, and she confirmed that she lives in another building, so thankfully I’m not literally the only human in the entire compound. As for the hotel itself, the facilities are about a three star level and the staff who helped me was polite and friendly. She said she would prepare breakfast just for me.

Personalized exceptional service from the owners and staff. Rooms and property were clean and comfortable. Food was wonderful. ||Peruvian Andes Trekking was also exceptional and are highly recommended for any of your trekking plans. They take hygiene and safety very seriously and provide everything you need for a successful trip.

Beautiful, quite location with fresh air in walking distance to city center! Enjoyed the cozy rooms with comfy beds, the nice garden area, the mountain views from the roof restaurant at breakfast and sunsets at dinner, nice breakfast and excellent dinner options plus super friendly owners!! Highly recommend this hotel while in Huaraz!! We stayed several nights in June/July 2025.

A fantastic place to stay in Huaraz! The staff were very responsive and helpful, let us store luggage while we were trekking, and provided a great breakfast. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

I spent a week in Huaraz doing several day hikes and a few other tours and stayed at the Morales Guest House during my time there. The hotel exceeded all expectations - the room was clean and comfortable, the food delicious and the hospitality first rate. The hotel’s association with Peruvian Andes Adventures makes coordination of hikes and other activities very easy. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Huaraz.
