This lookout area was a bit foggy when we went, but we could still make out plenty of great views. Actually, the way the fog moved itself was pretty cool. As with most of the lookout points, there was enough parking, and there were walkways, and you could get off the walkways as well and explore.

The GC is simply amazing!!! Pictures can not do it justice! You have to see in person. There was a little rain and we seen an amazing rainbow! Which of course pictures don't even come close to the beauty.

Almost skipped this viewpoint but happy we didn’t. Another amazing view of the canyon. I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with any of the viewpoints. This viewpoint also has a good view of the Colorado River flowing. Took some nice photos here and had a nice view from the sun setting

This viewpoint offers a magnificent view of the Grand Canyon and has several viewing areas including taking the trail for a short distance for even a closer look at this marvel of nature. Just a short distance from the parking lot, you will walk through a small teardrop park area before reaching the viewing area for a stunning view. There are several recycling bins in the parking lot but there are no restrooms at this location. The parking lot is limited with only a few spaces for oversized vehicles or small RVs. The viewpoint is open 24 hours, but no overnight camping or fires are allowed.

Yelp
Great viewpoint on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. There are so many of them on the Desert View drive. Moran Point is about a 10 mile drive from the Desert View Entrance (or east entrance). I stopped at a few viewpoints while heading to Grand Canyon Village recently and really enjoyed this one. This viewpoint is named for Thomas Moran. He was an artist in the late 1800's who was known for his landscape paintings. HIs painting of this viewpoint has inspired many to come visit the Grand Canyon.
Moran Point offers great views of the tilted layers of the Grand Canyon Supergroup directly to the north. You can see Colorado Butte to the west and Red Canyon just below. Moran Point is one of the four major viewpoints on the east rim drive. The others are Desert View Point, Grandview Point, and Yaki Point.
If you like to hike, Moran Point is a starting point for New Hance Trail. It's a 11.7-mile out-and-back trail for experienced hikers that descends over 4,000 feet.

Yelp
OMG well you're at the Grand Canyon- so you know it's epic. We stopped here several times to enjoy the views and relax. This one was a little less crowded and we enjoyed traipsing through the snow!
