Amazingly beautiful sunset views! The on-site store is open most days from 10–7 and has everything you might need. The north side has a rocky (stony) shore with little sand, grass, or dirt—not ideal for sleeping, but we found a nice little patch over the bridge. The south side, on the other hand, is sandy and much more comfortable, which is why it fills up first. We visited the first weekend of September, and the lake was still a great temperature—not too cold. If you're planning a weekend trip, reserve weeks in advance. That said, cancellations do pop up if you're willing to refresh the page a few times. Not sure yet what time you need to arrive for a lakefront spot. We got there at 1:30 and had no luck—but, as mentioned, the north end is more secluded (and very stony). The grassy areas were fine. Definitely worth a visit! The sunset alone makes it all worthwhile.

Absolutely beautiful place but zero amenities, no showers, no wifi, no indoor place to sit down. Also no real stores nearby, the one store that is open till 6 sells snacks and beer, be prepared.

Great camping spot right on shikotsuko. Amazing morning views, great stars and well equipped facilities. Bring longer pegs to stake your tent down on the beach. Camp away from the floodlights that are kept on all night. Great spot, would camp again.

We loved it! An unexpected stop turned into a very memorable time. Good inexpensive meals. Fresh fish from the tank. Very friendly staff and and a treat to met and hold 'Mickey' the eagle!

The Booking website is not in english making foreigners hard to book this camping site. Its so complicated to book this camping site even if you know japanese. Try to make it simple.

It was a good place for camping but there were some issues when it comes to the services. Specially, when it comes to trashes they will only allow you to throw raw garbages(left over food) and nothing else. Also they don’t have shower room.

Great camping and beautiful lake. Some tents can be a bit too close by but still worth the stay.

Great place to camp. The old man working there is super nice and helpful. When I’m motorcycle touring, I usually stay at free campsites so I don’t mind taking my trash. This campsite cost money and you still have to take your trash with you. A little inconvenient for motorcycle campers.
