Moreno's Mexican Grill

This place is topnotch, in my opinion. The food is delicious and fresh, the service is great and it was a clean environment. I've been back again and will continue to. I had the ceviche tostada and Barria tacos, outstanding!

I've been to Moreno's on Power and Main several times. This particular location is in an old gas station and the restroom is outside and you have to ask for the key! The key is attached to a huge metal kitchen spoon!! Boy! Did that bring back some memories! I got a single chili relleno . Moreno's has as good as the best in my world! Big, full of stringy, warm white cheese and good green sauce! The odd thing is, the price listed is $10.95, add a Pepsi and my bill was $18!!!!!! Surely my Pepsi wasn't $7.... I didn't realize it until I was at home later....

I live in Tucson now and literally nothing compares to this restaurant, I've been going since I was a kid and lived in Mesa. I NEED y'all to open a location here in Tucson please I only go up there so often now. I'm a fiend for your chicken tortilla soup, no where does it like here.

No Mexican food since Friday night... so off to Moreno’s I went for lunch. Always trying new items... today selected the Pollo Fundido with jalapeño creme sauce and a shrimp 🦐 taco. If I had been born a swine, I would’ve squealed with delight! 12/04/2021… Saturday Breakfast - My quest to test Menudo across the Phoenix Valley continues. Today it was at Moreno's in Mesa, AZ. Excellent! This place has moved into 2nd place on my growing list.

This restaurant was clean and organized. The staff was friendly as well. Very, very good mexican food especially the carne asada dishes. They have an amazing salsa bar, but be warned their salsas are hot, hot, hot 🔥 lol. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone. Hands down they had bombei food!

We had a big group come in late on a Monday night. They got everyone's order right and it was pretty fast. I got a carne asada steak taco and chicken taco with corn tortillas. Both were super delicious 😋 and I'm picky with my tacos. They were tender, flavorful and not dry!! I would definitely make the 25min trip from my place in Gilbert out to this restaurant for these tacos again!

Came here for breakfast before heading back to Cali. I ordered the menudo and it did not disappoint. I also ordered the birria tacos and they were delicious but I didn't get the full birria taste if that makes any sense. Staff was really friendly and the place was clean.

I wandered into this restaurant in a location that is surrounded by small Mexican food establishments. The facility here is a step above the mom and pop restaurants. The food. Was excellent, which was a great surprise, not knowing anything about this place. I ordered the chili played and a horchata. The chili plate was chili Verde, and the horchata was homemade. Both were outstanding. The price is a little high for Mexican food but was well worth it because of the quality Portions were excellent as well.

It was super late on a Saturday night and I had a huge craving for a Sonoran hot dog. This place has a food truck but they were closing up and directed us to their brick and mortar restaurant. They were almost closing as well but they still took our order with smiles on their face. They directed us outside where the guy had a hot dog cart and made our dogs fresh and to our order. He was pleasant and helpful. The hot dogs were good for my late night craving! The only downside for me, it isn't on the restaurant - I'm used to Sonoran hot dogs being wrapped in bacon. This one was not. There were bits of bacon sprinkled on it but the dog was not wrapped with a slice of bacon. It was still good!

You know when you eat a bad street taco, and it ruins your mood? Thats exactly what I felt. The tacos were so bland, the lines were bitter (even though I squeezed 7-8 of them) they were like rotten . Unflavored, and dry meat. The arroz was overcooked and unseasoned. The tosada de ceviche had a nice kick to it and was good to share with 2 people. The sopes were so unflavored and unappetizing after the first bite. The hot dogs were a HUGE fan fave however this time, it was a HUGE let down. No more wrapped bacon, it's now bacon crumbles on top with the frijoles. The drinks were sugary and nothing but ice. I truly feel morenos has gone down hill. Definitely a skip. Sorry not sorry. Service was mediocre, the cashier was attentive and kind. But was handling food at the same time she was cleaning stuff from the floor and bagging to go orders.

Have been coming for here for YEARS since I was a kid, my dad and I always come here and I bring my family and friends too. The food is always amazing and delicious. The agua frescas are delicious. I don't like the other chains of the restaurant, I specifically only come to this restaurant since it's the original. Only upset how I live kinda far away and the delivery option is sometimes off so it's out of the way. Otherwise LOVE IT.

I placed my order on the App. It was shredded chicken enchiladas (2). Beans and Rice on the side. I wasn't pleased they didn't give me the shredded chicken that I paid for. And the meal tasted bland and unauthentic. Won't order there in the future

It was late at night and I had a Sonoran hot dog craving... Moreno's to the rescue! You can place your order online, through their QR code! Because we couldn't find the Sonoran dogs online, we placed our order telephonically. Although you can place the order, they will not start it until you pay (either through the phone or in person). We ordered 2 Sonoran dogs, a carne vampiro, a beef taco, and chips and guac. Bf paid so I'm not sure what the total was but the prices online appear on par with other fast-food Mexican restaurants (Filiberto's, Moreno's, Los Favs). The Sonoran dogs definitely hit the spot! 1 would have been enough but I thought I was hungry lol. The grilled peppers it was served with were grilled well and had a sweet but spicy taste. The carne asada on the vampiro was a smidge tough but overall it was pretty good; better than Filiberto's/Moreno's. I definitely foresee more late night visits!

Si van a agarrar pa llevar no agarren burrito porque tienen una pinchi tortilla mas wango que mis huevos, y pos se me callo todo porque esa chingadeda de tortilla, asta que me pija débil tiene más fuerza que esa pinche tortilla. Pero el burrito estaba bien rico

Absolutely love the food here. The service is great and you've got to try the bean dip!!! The shrimp cocktail is my favorite.

Saturday date night brought us here, to Moreno's Mexican Grill. We have driven by several times and the parking lot was always full. We decided to see what all the fuss was about. I read reviews prior to heading out, and I am glad that I decided to check it out anyway. I always like to give a new spot for us a chance. We were seated almost immediately, in the bar area, as the tables in the dining room were all occupied. Chips and salsa were brought to our table right away, it was nice to see the bean dip as well. Both the red and green salsa were very tasty! Our server, Paola, was absolutely fantastic!!! She was very attentive, even as the bar area filled up quickly. She made sure to stop by and check on us regularly. I ordered a Strawberry Margarita and received an extra glass full after they mixed it. That was above and beyond, as no place we have gone to lately has done that. On a hot summer night, it was awesome to have extra to sip on. Both my husband and I had the same meal, a Cheese Enchilada, Shredded Beef Taco, Rice, and Beans. The meal was divine! Everything tasted so good! It was a struggle to finish everything on the plate, as they were both very full. We brought home some leftovers that were devoured later in the week. The cheese enchiladas had white cheese in the middle, which was a refreshing change from the typical yellow cheese that other restaurants use. We were extremely happy with our entire experience and will definitely be back for more!

Wowwww. I've never tasted beans like this before! They're usually nasty but OMG their so good here!!!. I didn't even know they can taste like that! I'm usually not even a big fan of Mexican but this is not like the rest! This is some of the best Mexican food I've had here in AZ! Had to leave a review because I was throughly impressed! Compared to what I've tried, idk how anyone could disagree

On a weekend trip to Arizona, and wanted to grab some local Mexican food. Moreno's is great. The place is super clean and the customer service is excellent. I got the floutas and my girlfriend got the sopes. Both were very good, and the flavor was top notch. The salsa bar had a lot of variety, and overall the experience was good. Great place!

Don't door dash or Uber eats food from here they got my whole order wrong and I called to tell them before I posted this message and they made it my fault for their mistake. Got no receipt to check the order as well.

Fries were greasy and took 30 minutes to make cheese was not good the carne was burnt

One of my favorite things to grab when I cross the border is a really good Sonoran Dog. It's nice to be able to drive a few minutes and grab one when I get my cravings. Moreno's started off as a hot dog cart and now have a few locations across the Valley. This location is their original spot and has a nice patio area where they sometimes grill their dogs outside on. Even though they are known for their Sonoran Dogs, Moreno's has a pretty large menu of Mexican cuisine classics, desserts and beverages. They even serve breakfast. Moreno's is customer friendly and always makes for a nice stop.

I called 4 different locations to just ask a simple question, Where can I find or buy the hot dog bread mostly of them said I don't know and hung up the phone or just didn't say anything. One said idk google it and hung up rude cashiers that picked up the phone or something but one of them was definitely in a bad mood to respond harshly all I wanted was the source to the hot dog bread. Simple question?

I just got my wisdom's teeth removed (2) And I went to look for some soup Omggggg!!!! I was surprised about Morenos tortillas soup 10000% over any soup . Even from Panera . This help me eat while I'm in pain

I used to live in Mesa and this was always our late night go to spot. They have a wide variety of options but I've never been disappointed with their menudo which was a regular order for me. On some nights it can get a little packed with limited parking. The food is delicious and they also have a Sonora hot dog stand in their patio. You do have to order it at the counter first. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Also, they have aguas frescas and their horchata is a must! I recently called in a pick up order since I was on that part of town late at night and they did let me know that I had to pay over the phone in order for them to be able to actually start my order so just a heads up. Overall, place is good and highly recommend.

The food was yummy,service was good as well.There red hot sauce I would say could be better!

This place don't know anything about customer service , they always closed before closing time. I was calling since 10:30 to place an order cuz I undeserved the close at 11or 11:30 they don't pick up the phone even tho o tried to call many times, I hope the owner , witch I know , knows what the Doing it doesn't look good at all. So simple to pick Up the phone at 10:30 when I called and said we not taking any more orders so the clients avoid the drive but obviously they don't know customer service at all So unprofessional to close early with no excuse.

The only reason tonight's order garnered a 2 star is due to our previous orders being delicious. With that being said, tonight's order was wrong on all accounts. First off, we ordered crunchy beef tacos and received pork. Not the most horrible mistake, but it goes on from there. The carmello quesodilla was sans queso. I've never had a quesodilla with no cheese before, would that just make it a dilla? The chimichanga had no red sauce, even though that (and extra) was ordered. And, the inside was hollow. It was as if someone hollowed out the chimichanga. And what was there made the once-crispy shell flaccid and lifeless. And to top it off, the soda we ordered, tamarind, turned out to be mandarin. I guess they figured it was close enough because it rhymed... Also, somehow our side of rice turned into beans, which is some sort of Mexican witchcraft, because out ticket clearly said RICE. The kicker was, the beans were old and stale. Yuck. I want to believe they were having an off night. But if you constantly get every dish wrong, that's not an off night. Maybe next time will be better. I sure hope so, this place is usually great.

We love Moreno's! It's a go to Mexican food restaurant! Everything we've had is delicious! Chips are crispy and perfect, salsa is so good and not too spicy and the bean dip is the best!! Definitely go try it when you're craving Mexican food!

So fresh and tasty. Took a drive out from Gold Canyon in search of the fr food. I don't normally eat like this but when I do... it needs to be worth it. Polite. Prompt. Personable service. Our new go to for Mexican.

Service was great. Good food and place is clean. No complaints. Be sure to bring your Spanish. For those who don't speak Spanish like me, get the number one. It's tasty and plentiful !

Spent a lot of time in Tucson and this is the first place outside of Tucson that we've found a great Sonoran hot dog. They also make a mean California burrito. Highly recommend!

Food is good but customer service was terrible. Before I let my kids order drinks, I asked if it was included in the kids meal, server said yes and I confirmed that printed on the kids menu, it says drinks included and lists all the drink choices. They got chocolate milk. It came and was white milk on ice. Kids didn't like it. I tried it and it was terrible. We asked for root beers for them instead, which they got. When the bill came, we were charged for 2 chocolate milks. I asked him about it and he said that in the system, there wasn't a way to enter the drink order as part of the kids meal, so had to enter it separately. I showed him on the kids menu where it says drinks included, so there has to be a way. I asked for a manager figuring they could help him on how to enter it correctly. A lady came, asked about what was going on, said let me check, and then didn't come back. I doubt she was actually a manager. He came back and argued with me some more. I gave up and handed him my credit card. When he brought the check for me to sign, it was 6 dollars more than what the ticket was for. Part of that was a 3% fee for using credit card, which is a new thing at this restaurant we have been to many times before. This was not advertised anywhere on the table or menu. But that only accounted for part of the extra. Ivtried asking the "manager" about it but she ignored me and the server insisted I only talk to him. Come to find out he added a charge for the root beers! So instead of getting drinks included with 2 kids meals, I ended up paying for 4 drinks! I would have had them get water if it wasn't included, but it was written right there in black & white. I've never had a server who wasn't willing to make it right. He even argued over whether or not the milk actually tasted bad. Like, you're welcome to try it yourself, but that's not the point. I'm a very passive and agreeable person, so for me to get upset is highly unusual. First time in my life I've asked for a manager and I can't believe she did absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, we won't be going back there if that's how it is. Also, my parents both got soup and it was barely warm. Gecko grill has the same food but with better service and ambiance. So disappointing.

DON'T use Morenos at Broadway for catering! Charge you $1000 and don't even give chips and salsa. And when you call management, they don't care because they already have your $$$.

pretty solid mexican food combos were a little over 10 bucks and I think the prices were worth it. The Carne asada was good quality and the tortillas were as well. I got the Moreno burrito as take out and it's good I will be coming back to try their tortas

You can never go wrong with Morenos! Prices are reasonable and the portions are pretty big. Everything is so flavorful and made right when ordered. The salsa bar has everything you'll need! Avocado salsa, a red salsa, cucumbers, jalapeños with carrots and limes!! Do find yourself a table as soon as you walk in because this place tends to fill up rather quickly!!!! Oh and you must try the carne asada caramelo!!! (Quesadilla with steak) Its AMAZING! (I get mine with no beans)

The green chili burrito was very good. Atmosphere good. Service was friendly and quick. The only reason I refrained from 5 stars is it seemed to me the prices were a little high for the kind of place it is, but you can judge for yourself by looking at the menu. My brain may just not have adjusted to the steep inflation we're all live under over the past year. I will be back to try their Sonoran hotdog.

Came here for lunch. Saw the lunch menu n ordered the enchiladas special. The menu advertising the specials clearly shows it comes w sour cream. The cashier and manager argued w me that it was wrong and 2 oz of sour cream is $2 more. NO, ur sign says its included!!! Manager would not honor it or own her mistake. Sorry customer service as we all know that if u advertise something, u are to honor it. I'm gonna go ahead n judge here becuz this place was empty at noon at lunch time. So im assuming food sucks too. Carolinas on country club was packed!!! Think I'll go w carolinas next time!

First time coming in last night and the food was delicious. Really really good Sonoran Mexican food. The flour tortillas were amazing, soft and fresh and the red and green Chile enchiladas the best along with beef taco, beef burro and Sonoran hotdog. Place was clean and staff were pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Not good at all fast food kinda!! Like an updated Filiberto's but Filiberto's is better lol!! small portions and self serve number on table and drop food off. $50 spent two adults and two kids. Up and down. Food not good. Chicken very plain dry..had to get the hot dog on the patio no one was there he walked away as he seen my husband coming out. Churros had Carmel in them. Beans not good cheese enchiladas not good, red salsa not great either. Save yourself and go to a restaurant for this price!!! or across the street for better food. Stressful experience up and down and we paid to much for a sub par experience!! Go across the street kitty corner to this place for better Mexican food Hidalgo's?? Looks like an old Taco Bell they have great food way better!!!

I have been on a quest.. a quest for the almighty bacon wrapped hot dog or the Tijuana Hot Dog aka Mexican Hot Dog.. these bad boys are so illegal one lady selling them in LA was sent to jail for 45 days! Apparently the board of health doesn't look to kindly on street vendors grilling these on the side of the road. After much searching on the internet for potential suitors for me quest I found this one, Mereno's in Mesa. This place isn't just in Mesa but in the part of Mesa that is well, like stepping into Little Mexico. Its awesome really.. carneceria's, Mexican food stands and of course 2 TJ hot dog joints (the second we spotted on the drive up to Moreno's). Once there we were impressed! With all the buildings around there looking worn and tattered, Moreno's was like finding the Titty Twister in the middle of the Mexican desert, place was hopping! Of course we we're the only white boys in there but hey, if you like the looks of Latin men, well heyyyyyyyy!! We ordered 4 dogs, a cheese quesadilla and a carne asada burro.. oh, they also have Coke and Sprite (Mexican versions) in the glass bottle! Saweet! After ordering we were told that we need to go back outside and pick up the dogs. Strange but okay.. made me a little nervous until we got outside and there was a street cart.. this guy was the hot dog monster! He had 4 made with all the toppings (beans, onions, salsa, etc) but to or disappointment the dogs weren't wrapped in bacon. Apparently the AZ board of health got to this place as well. The bacon was chopped and put into the hot dog boat (bun with a slit only in the center). When we got inside we grabbed a booth and took in the surroundings. This place is actually pretty decent. Super clean, very comfortable and a nice salsa bar close to the counter. They had avocado cream, 2 kinds of salsa as well as cucumbers and radishes plus limes. We of course we to town, I love 'salad' with my Mexican food! Once we were set up we tore into the dogs! They were fantastic.. the flavors and textures were as comforting as they were somehow exotic. Mayonnaise with salsa and bean, who knew? The burro and the quesadila showed shortly after a few minutes. Oh the quesadilla.. super crispy and cheesy! The carne asada burro was huge! Surprisingly packed full of meat, pico de gallo and rice.. Ive never had one this way but I cant believe what Ive been missing all these years! Tender, salty, a little spicy (additional salsa) and slightly creamy as the rice was done very well! As we waddled out of there and made it to the car we knew that we will certainly be coming back! On the way west to the 101 we noticed about 4 different street carts, all serving the same thing.. those yummy TJ hot dogs! Anyone up for a crawl? Who knows, maybe one will be wrapped in bacon?

Been craving Sonoran style favorites in the Phoenix area? Well go to Moreno's and you won't leave disappointed! When I visit Tucson I love getting Sonoran dogs and other specialties like caramelos and vampiros but it can be hard to find them here in the Phoenix area. Moreno's offers all the above in addition to your standard selections you'd find in a typical Mexican restaurant. I had a small size carne asada caramelo and a Sonoran dog. I got the agua de sandia to go with it. The restaurant is nicely appointed with granite countertops and neutral beige tiles and stone. There is a salsa bar in the center with various salsas, cucumber slices, marinated carrots, and limes. The tables here are evenly spaced out and eating in was a pleasant experience. The order was ready in a short amount of time. The caramelo was quite delicious. It is very similar to a quesadilla except they use two separate tortillas instead of one tortilla folded. The tortillas were perfectly griddled to have a lightly crisp exterior and the carne asada was well seasoned and very tender. The cheese melded well with the rest of the ingredients. The Sonoran dog was a pretty sight to behold, with the different colors of the toppings surrounded by the bolillo roll. It was good, but compared to some fabulous ones I've had in the past the roll wasn't as soft. The roasted white pepper that came with it had a fiery hot kick to it. I loved it. The agua de sandia (Watermelon juice) was so refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness. I could possibly drink a whole gallon of that stuff! Service was very friendly with a smile. If I'm in the area again this is definitely a great place for Mexican food. 4.5/5

Overpriced for what you get, this used to be a great hole in the wall but like many places it seems it's profits first, while they have improved the overall of the location it seems they are passing on the cost of the remodel to the customers and they don't even have a restroom inside the building. Maybe they should have left it the way it was. Also the front end employees or cashiers have a poor attitude I sure didn't feel welcomed.

Love taco de tripa however the customer service is horrible and ladies have no professionalism.

Hard To Beat Tasty Burritos For A Great Price! Moreno's has been in of my favorites for over 15 years! Angel, the owner has always been very friendly and the food is good and the prices are more than fair as well. This place is hard to beat for a good feeding....

This place has one of the best carne asada I've tasted out here in Mesa. I also had a baja shrimp which also was good. The horchata wasn't bad but I've had better

During my night time walks I would be enticed by an overwhelming smell full with savor coming from this restaurant. Eventually I had no other option than to succumb and place an order for a chicken quesadilla unfortunately despite the incredible smells; the serving size was a joke (I would have gotten a larger and fuller quesadilla had I gone to Taco Bell) and the price was insane! $14 for a thin quesadilla with very little in it, Taco Bell wouldn't just be cheaper but I would have gotten more for my money. You get 1/2 of what you can order at other restaurants and pay more. I enjoyed the aroma more than the food. Sadly, the food and price will discourage me from returning especially since their are other restaurants that offer more for your buck and taste incredible.

An excellent find! Very authentic and reasonably priced. Its hard to find good Sonoran dogs in Phx, but this place nails it. Fish tacos are a must have. The carne asada was just okay.

These guys make some really good Sonoran food and this is their original location. It all started with a small Hot Dog cart outside and now they are rocking throughout the valley with several locations. Came here for the Sonoran Dogs and was not disappointed. They are made to perfection and the buns they use are delicious. It is hard not to eat at least a couple of dogs and maybe sneak down a third. Nice! They have a giant menu with tons of the standard Sonoran favorites. The salsa bar is very fresh and you can load up with as much as you want. I like the fact that the salsas have some good flavor with a few having more heat than others. Service is very friendly and on my first visit they took the extra time to explain the most popular items as well as their daily specials. The inside is also very clean and the food comes out rather quickly. Best part is that they are very close to my work. See ya there around lunchtime. I'll be the one with the big smile. I loved this restaurant during my vacation!! I ate the best Mexican hotdog, I didn't even know what a Mexican hotdog was until this visit. It was recommended, I ordered it, delicious!!! It had onions, peppers, cheese, beans and the bread was toasted. The tacos were great too, I had a fish, a steak, a shrimp and a chicken taco; all 4 tacos were good. I will say the shrimp and steak ones were the best. The orders came out fast and although the staff didn't speak English they were very accommodating when I asked questions.

I had the Sonoran Hot dog from here which was amazing! The customer service was also really good. The restaurant itself was very clean and the decor was modern and new. Definitely a fun place to have dinner, but worth it to just grab some take out if you're in a rush.

Me and my boyfriend have got food from here a number of times, always something different. Everything is delicious! Best torta in the area as well, i swear. From casual eats to more unique stuff like creamy chipotle shrimp, Moreno's is always so good. Great portions and prices as well. Yummmmm

At this place they give you complementary chips and salsa while you wait for your food. It's a lot bigger than the place in Chandler. I ordered the taco toro with tongue. It wasn't as soft and melts in your mouth as I remembered it, but it was good. I kind of wished there was a salsa bar like the other place in Chandler. The atmosphere was nice and it's a good place to have a group gathering. Friendly customer service.

I have been waiting to visit this establishment and I finally had the opportunity today, the yelp opinions really had my curiosity on cue, well I must Say I was not disappointed by any means, the dish that I ordered came in a timely manner (6 minutes) and was pleasantly hot. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito & Chicken Taco plate.....all I can say is GREAT.....I will come back for the Rice & Beans alone very tasty no seasonings was necessary. This establishment will be added to my GOTO list, well worth the visit, I have no complaints......OOPS the Salsa could be hotter......LoL. no one gets away that easy.

Great food and great service! I'm getting used to different types of Mexican food since my husband is from Mexico and I'm from Mesa and this place has wonderful variety and quality! When the food is a bit spicy for a gringa like me, the agua frescas are wonderful!
