Moretti Italian Restaurant Leichhardt

It looks like a very popular local restaurant, very big in size and was full. I ordered a Pinot Noir and Malfade Al Ragu' Di Manzo - malfade pasta, slow cooked beef ragu, pecorino cheese. Texture of pasta was silky and beef was so tender it was falling apart, but I found the dish too salty. It would have been nice if I was able to add a little more pasta to lighten the saltiness. The portion was very generous though. I ended the meal with a classic Tiramisu which was also an enormous slice. But didn't quite feel too comfortable - in Australia I find a number of restaurants do not know how to make a single diner feel at home. It's not just the food, it's hospitality as well.

I had an amazing dining experience at this Italian restaurant! The pasta was rich, creamy, and full of flavor—the sauce and mushrooms blended perfectly with the sauce, making every bite satisfying. The texture of the pasta was just right, cooked to perfection. Their pizza was equally impressive! BEST ITALIAN FOOD! An absolute must-try. Ordered the pizza and gnocchi and fettuccine with prawns and mushroom. Outstanding flavours, pasta was cooked to perfection, ingredients were fresh. Pizza was thin crust and was so good! Had the tiramisu - it was simply delicious. The portions were generous and the price point is really good for what you are getting. Service was excellent too - warm, attentive and quick. I can understand why this restaurant is so busy.

tried the potato pizza after being recommended it, definitely yummy but went on a busy night and felt overstimulated. still, very beautiful restaurant. i recommend booking in advance!

Came on a week night and the place was busy but could still get a seat without booking. We enjoyed the pasta sauce and the generous mushrooms in it. We thought the house made pasta would be more bouncy but this was the thin kind (just a personal preference). The special pizza was slightly underwhelming other than the sauce on it and we have had better bases and crusts before but we soaked up the rest of the pasta sauce happily. Decent place to revisit as a family restaurant as the staff were kind and attentive.

This is my favourite Italian restaurant-pizzeria in Sydney, after LA PIAZZETTA in Waterloo - Green Square. Just look at the pictures, the food is amazing. The place is a bit noisy when there are too many people, but the food is so good that of course attract a lot of customers if you really want to taste the Italian cucina you must come here at least once. Staff is Italian and friendly which add that authenticity. I recommend these two restaurants in Australia as the best you can get of Italy in this country. Try and you will not be disappointed.

A great place for quality Italian food. The restaurant had a nice Italian decor. The staff was friendly and quick service. Had their Prosciutto and beef cheek. Prosciutto was fatty and smoky. The beef cheek was very tender and the sauce was zesty and garlicky. The risotto cake at bottom was crispy and complimented by the beef. For dessert I had their tiramisu. It was creamy, light and subtle coffee taste.

Absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked fresh pasta, great service & such a lovely atmosphere. Definitely need to book in advance. Will definitely be back!

DELICIOUS! This is a big beautiful restaurant with a relaxed feel, perfect for a casual lunch or a nice dinner out. Everything I ate was ridiculously good and my selected plates looked like this: Garlic bread (2 large pieces), 2 pieces of fried mozzarella pattys, moretti pasta with fettuccine (prawns and mushrooms to die for with a beautiful tomato cream sauce) and a pizza with salami and Italian sausage amongst some of the toppings. The crust on the pizza was heavenly and probably one of the best I've had to date.

This restaurant is my favourite in Leichhardt. It's the best Italian I've ever had - that wasn't cooked by my nonna. Gorgeous waitstaff, the decor is beautiful and the menu has enough variety so that everyone will be satisfied. The bruschetta pomodoro is an outstanding blend of classic Italian flavours and their wine list matches the food really well. The fresh homemade pastas are just delicious. My only pain point is that they're so popular you're rarely able to get a seat unless you've booked. It's not their fault, Ha-Ha, but it's my only downside lol.

Staff are rude. We were forced into a set menu but not advised of the extra 10% surcharge on the entire meal. If you order the set menu for a party remember to add 10% on EVERYTHING!! $643 for 4 pizza, 4 garlic bread pizza and a few bowl of salad and meatballs. Seafood pizza smelled rotten, it was so bad I had to leave the table. When paying we were advised that we were lucky they did not charge us for extra people that cancelled even though we advised them of the change. I was personally abused by the person that took our money. He told me I was at fault and that I knew about the surcharge. I wasn't the person who made the booking. This was not my first time at Moretti's but it will be my last. The personal attack was inexcusable. Avoid this place in groups of more than 11 people. In fact avoid this place all together!!!

Delicious food, cosy and lively vibes plus friendly wait staff. This place is definitely a local favourite as it's often quite busy. The antipasto board are top notch and prosciutto pizza too!!

My friend took me here cause this was his favorite Italian place. Well I can say, I understand why! From the beautiful wait staff, to the attentive staff and the epic homemade pasta. You will leave this place satisfied and as if you were part of a family while being there. I highly recommend the bruschetta, with its ripe tomatoes and crusty bread. Only thing that made me gave it a 4 out of 5 stars was the fact we didn't get offered dessert or to fix up the bill. But a very small slip in an amazing dining experience.

As Moretti's website says, the food is simple but flavourful. Crispy thin crust wood fired pizza - one of the best in Sydney. The gnocchi bolognese was delicious. Dessert was the stunning mille foglie rustico which was scrumptious. Even the simple starter, fresh bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar, was moreish. The service was brisk, efficient and helpful (we now know how to pronounce the dessert!). Large bustling restaurant which obviously does well and thoroughly deserves to. Will be back to try more dishes and wine from the expansive menu. Can't wait!

My wife have this place a go for our date night. We ordered the lamb ragu and capricosa (spelling ?) pizza, both were great. I didn't find the service anything to write home about, but enjoyed the menu selection and flavours. We ordered one of the more affordable bottles of red wine on the menu and were quite impressed with that as well. We'll be back...

Nice decor/vibe, very spacious restaurant. Authentic Italian food which was beautiful. However, I felt that each savoury dish we ordered needed more flavour, so I was a tad disappointed but still enjoyed it. The tiramisu was huge and amazing!

A great place to go before a movie. Staff are very friendly, pizza was really good.. The prawn, tomato and zucchini pizza was nice, light and tasty.

Nice place. A bit noisey when busy. Staff is helpful and eager to please.
