What a wonderful place to stay and explore Salem! Bob is a fantastic host, and goes above and beyond to make his guest feel welcome and at home. My room was homey and the bed was very comfy. I stayed in the Elizabeth room. The breakfast is delicious and filling. It is in a great location and is walkable to downtown Salem. So grateful for my stay here!

It was a true delight to stay at the Morning Glory! Our room (as well as the rest of the house) was wonderfully decorated and cozy. The bed was comfortable, the towels fluffy, and indoor and outdoor seating areas were charming. Bob made us a hot breakfast each morning, which included VERY addictive cheese bread and pancakes that put my mother’s to shame. Bob also gave us plenty of recommendations on where to go and what to do, which made for a perfect trip. The location was also super convenient; we left our car in the included parking lot behind the Morning Glory when we checked in and didn’t use it again the whole time we were there. There was lots to do within a 10 minute walk, including the House of Seven Gables (right across the street!), the Salem Maritime National Historic Sites, wharf, local shops, and plenty of food and drink options. We had the best time, and would have honestly considered staying an extra day if we didn’t have a dog to get back to. But we will absolutely be visiting Salem and staying at the Morning Glory again soon!

When we think back on our trip to Salem, our stay at the Morning Glory is the memory we always recall fondly.||The room was comfortable, cozy, and spotless. We loved the balcony and lounging areas on the roof and outside our room. The B&B includes a beautiful garden in the back, perfect for sipping tea and watching the local birds. Don't miss the fantastic breakfast!!||The charm of the building is present everywhere you look. It's clear to see the love poured into this house by Bob and from past guests. It's the kind of stay that you feel sad to leave.||Bob welcomed and cared for us as if we were family. He went out of his way to accommodate our needs and truly provided a 5-star experience. ||To Bob & Willow, Much love from Justin & Sarah!

I've been wanting to stay at Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast for a long time and wished I had done it sooner! My stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast was an absolute delight from start to finish. The room was cozy and inviting, filled with thoughtful touches—soft linens, vintage furnishings, chocolates, and the sweetest dolls that added a whimsical, personal charm. The bed was, without exaggeration, the most comfortable I've ever slept in. It felt like being wrapped in a cloud—plush, supportive, and so restful. After a day of exploring, it was the perfect place to unwind. The common areas were spacious and welcoming, with lots of cozy spots to sit and unwind. Whether curled up in a comfy chair in the living room or enjoying a peaceful moment on the patio or one of the many decks, there was always a perfect place to relax and take in the calm surroundings. Breakfast was absolutely delightful—from the thick French toast to the seasonal fruit, each bite felt fresh and nourishing. The coffee was rich and aromatic, brewed just right to start the day. Bob was incredibly warm and friendly—it really felt like staying with a dear friend. His genuine kindness and welcoming spirit made my visit all the more special and comfortable. A place like this is rare—a quiet, beautiful escape where every detail speaks of care and love. I can’t wait to return!

Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast is an absolute delight -- we highly recommend! ||Bob is a wonderful and kind host and his B&B is one of the best. Breakfast was delicious and Bob is a talented cook. His french toast and fluffy pancakes were our favorite! We stayed in the spacious and delightfully decorated Sarah Good room on the top level. The bed is a dream (memory foam mattress, soft sheets, perfect pillows), the bathroom has natural light, and the living room has a comfy couch, sizable fridge, microwave, and coffee bar. The large rooftop deck and views of the water are also great. The location is ideal -- in the heart of downtown and walkable to everything. We wouldn't change a thing about our visit, our stay was perfect. Thank you Bob & Willow for warmly welcoming my mom and I into your beautiful home.

My wife and I spent a week in Salem and had a lovely stay at the Morning Glory. Salem is a charming New England town with a lot of things to do and see. Bob, the owner, is a Salem native, a gentleman, and a gracious host. The house is beautiful and the views from the deck are breathtaking. Wonderful vacation spot and wonderful establishment. Many thanks to Bob for making our stay memorable.

The Morning Glory is a lovely home away from home! Bob supplies everything you could possibly need while keeping everything neat and tidy. The outdoor sitting areas were the perfect spots to end the night star gazing and breakfast the next morning was to die for! The pancakes topped with fresh fruit and pecans were reason alone to come back again and again!! I absolutely recommend coming here for any occasion, it was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday weekend. My only complaint is that I didn’t book another night!

Google
This B&B was absolutely amazing, the photos on the website don't do it justice for how clean, beautiful and meticulously curated the decor is. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! Most of all Bob was the emulation of what a host should be! I definitely will be back to come stay again!!

Yelp
Amazing stay. Can not say enough about Bob. Incredible and generous host. Wharf view from the balcony was beautiful. Short easy walk to all of the attractions, shopping, food and drink. Hope to be back and stay longer in the future.

Wayne S.

Yelp
Perfect Location; Bob is a great host; Have a drink or coffee on the deck off the rooms overlooking the water or on the patio. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. In the summer- go to The Landing. Bob will give great local advice if needed. Can't recommend Morning Glory enough!

Bridget A.

Yelp
Wonderful experience of my fiancé and I's first B&B. Elizabeth Howe room was spacious, and comfortable. The location of this B&B was in a prime spot to all the desired attractions. To add, our host (Bob) made an amazing breakfast, and was very accommodating. Friendly yet not over-bearing. Highly suggest this B&B if traveling to Salem.

Yelp
We stayed in the Rebecca Nurse room 4 nights in early July. What a delightful Bed and Breakfast! The entire place was lovingly decorated with great attention to detail. Bob was a wonderful host and served a great breakfast each morning. The air condition was effective and not needed at night as it would cool down and we could sleep with the window open as the location was very quiet (despite being in central Salem). Highly recommended & we would definitely stay again.

Yelp
This is the coziest, most beautiful little bed and breakfast in a beautiful area of Salem. From the minute you arrive at this gorgeous, well-maintained historic home, you feel welcome. We stayed in the Rebecca Nurse suite and fell in love with it. From the bedding to the wallpaper to all of the trinkets, everything was so charming, we didn't want to leave. There is a level of care and detail that Bob, the owner, puts into every single aspect of the home and his guests. Bob is such a kind host and he welcomes you into his home like family - right away, you can tell that he loves doing this and that he cares. He also makes a delicious breakfast - the stuffed french toast was to die for. Aside from the place itself being wonderful, you're also within walking distance of Downtown Salem, and all of the historic spots, shops, museums, restaurants, bars, cafes, microbreweries, etc. We didn't have to drive our car once while we were there, so it is super accessible for folks who might be coming via train or bus. Cannot recommend this place enough! If you're going to Salem, treat yourself by staying at Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast - I promise you'll love it.

Yelp
Here for our 23rd anniversary and it couldn't be more perfect. We stayed in the suite and have a beautiful room that is spotless and decorated with an eye to detail from the little handmade bed doll to the comfy overstuffed chair! Breakfast was a pure pleasure with friendly people to chat with and Bob the consummate host by sparking conversation between guests. The view from the deck is so tranquil and pretty. Morning Glory bed and breakfast is situated within walking distance of everything.

Ron M.

Yelp
Morning Glory B&B Wow!!! Wish we could have stayed here longer. Our accommodations were amazing!! We had the Sarah Good suite with is basically the whole top floor and rooftop deck. Bob does a great job with decorating, cleanliness and comfort. Everything we could want, this place had. Even wine glasses in the room and waters in the fridge. Can't speak to the breakfast as we are not early risers. The view from the rooftop is really nice. Also within easy walking distance to many nice eating options.

Yelp
This is the best place to stay in Salem. It is a delightful, cozy, romantic B&B situated in the heart of historic Salem, right across the street from the House of Seven Gables and Ye Olde Pepper Candy store (great place for chocolate!). We felt so comfortable at this place that we didn't want to leave! Our room had a deck with a table and chairs from which we could see Salem Harbor, absolutely lovely! The bed was very comfortable, we had great sleeps in it. Now for the best part, breakfast! Bob prepares the most delicious, scrumptious breakfasts around. The best was his french toast with some kind of raspberry cream cheese spread in the center of the toast, words can't describe how good it was! I've never had anything like it anywhere else. The cheese bread and the fantastic assortment of tea are also delights, the perfect way to start the day! Bob is the perfect host, helpful, informative, and very professional. We are already looking forward to our next visit. We highly recommend this B&B, perfect in every way!

Yelp
Staying at the Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast in Salem made our trip extra special. The house is located about a five minute walk from the downtown area. It was close enough to not need our car at all, but far enough away so that there was no traffic noise or busy streets. Bob and Marcel keep an AMAZING b&b, everything was colorful and bright, while being spotless clean and welcoming. For 4 ladies, we reserved one single room (for Mom) and took the "Sarah Goode" suite which was the entire top floor, with one king bedroom and a sitting room with a pullout couch. Our top floor suite had its own private entrance via the rooftop patio. (oooooooo) The patio provided us with wonderful views of the ocean, an awesome breeze when it was too hot to move, and lounge chairs and tables for sunning and wining. Each floor of the b&b, including ours, provided us with a mini-fridge, microwave, and a Kurig machine, with plenty of clean mugs, and wine glasses!!! Breakfast was every morning from 8-10, at a lovely set table with traditional Boston breakfast. The Morning Glory was directly next door to the House of the Seven Gables, where we were able to tour the property. It was also super close to The Bunghole Liquors (we got a kick out of this one, as well as plenty of vacation booze), In A Pigs Eye Restaurant and Bar, and also The Witches Brew Restaurant. These are much more local spots than they are for the tourists, perfect for us. We adored our stay with Bob and Marcel at the Morning Glory, and we will SURE to be back for our next visit!!!

Yelp
Coming back to Salem for the first time since the pandemic felt like coming home, and our second time staying at the Morning Glory exceeded even our first visit! Bob is the consummate host; he anticipates every single need one could possibly have. Everything is thoughtfully planned out, little touches such as makeup wipes and Q-tips are provided, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Bob is thoroughly charming, as is Willow, his doggy. And I haven't even told you about the Cheese Bread served every morning yet (I saved the best for last!). Sublime! The breakfasts are all wonderful, and the entire experience is one of feeling pampered and taken care of. The Inn is just lovely and the rooftop deck is so peaceful and relaxing. We will be back over and over again.

Summer P.

Yelp
Do not stay anywhere else in Salem, this place is tops! The service is so genuine, friendly and personable. Everything is charming and nicely appointed, and so clean! The entire home smells of fresh laundry, that is, when it does not smell of fresh-baked goods. Which brings me the the breakfast... amazing! I wish I has some cheese bread right now! Whether you live nearby and want to unwind or you you are traveling from afar and want to experience Salem, this place is perfect!

Yelp
Wow! Best Bed & Breakfast EVER! If you are visiting Salem, Massachusetts - I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful B&B right next to the historic House of the Seven Gables. Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast is now open - and Bob is the most wonderful host. I spent my birthday here - and Bob went out of his way to make the occasion as special as possible. This is the only place I will ever stay in Salem in the future. Extremely clean rooms, incredibly delicious breakfasts, fantastic location and great amenities.

Yelp
Morning Glory is a great bed & breakfast in Salem. They have excellent rates, an outstanding location and wonderful rooms. Bob (the proprietor) is very nice and friendly and even picked us up from the commuter rail station when we got in to Salem. The rooms are very nice and they do have a no TV past 10pm policy which is nice (even though I usually watch TV until 1 or 2, it's a good considerate policy). They have an amazing top deck that would be lovely for breakfast during the summer. The breakfast was very good with some great muffins and bread and wonderful service. We'll definitely by back when we visit Salem again!

Corinne G.

Yelp
This bed and breakfast is worth it! If you're in Salem and get the chance to stay at this darling bed and breakfast...do it! The owner, Bob, was so pleasant and he made the stay INCREDIBLE! I can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
Spent two nights at the Morning Glory while visiting Salem for my daughters birthday. We looked at other places online and this was my daughter's choice. The place is old fashioned and quaint, our room took us back to another time. This place really gets you in the mood to take on Salem. Our room was immaculately clean and had all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay. You can view the Harbor at the bottom of the street and The famous House of The Seven Gables is located across the street from the B&B, at the top of the street you have the Oldest Candy Store in America. The B&B is close to the town center and five minute walk to Jaho Coffee. Bob and Willow were great host and very accommodating. My daughter and I enjoyed a couple of good conversations with Bob over breakfast, as we enjoyed raspberry, cream cheese, stuffed French toast and fresh fruit, that was day 1 and crepes the second day. All in all the accommodations were wonderful as was Salem. We had a great and memorable trip. Places I recommend in Salem: Trolley tour: Good to do first thing when it's not busy and also help you get your bearing in Salem; you can go on as many times you want the day you buy your ticket. Witch dungeon tour. I would give this one a pass, they really just need to redo this exhibit :-( Must do!!! tour the House of the Seven Gables, really enjoyed this one. Restaurants: Turner's Seafood: I had the stuffed lobster and it was awesome. Finz seafood: Had lunch here, it was excellent and the prices are reasonable for lunch. Passage to India: I have to say this was some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten.

Anthony R.

Yelp
What can I say Bob is an amazing person! His bed and breakfast is the best I have been to! I love this house... Great service, great food! Wonderful room... I will go back!

Dustin P.

Yelp
Spent a post-Halloween weekend here and it was amazing! The room was very nice and comfy, with a private bathroom and its own exit so you could be as social as you wanted. Off-street parking. The room had a nice view of the harbor. Central to just about anything you could want to do in Salem. Bob was a great host and prepared an amazing breakfast. Would definitely recommend Morning Glory to anyone looking to visit Salem.

Karen R.

Yelp
We LOVE this place!!!!! The first word that comes to mind is perfect. Absolutely Perfect location, right next door to The House of the Seven Gables. Perfect Room we stayed in the Elizabeth Howe room . Perfect bedding and bed. So comfy!!! And I'm picky!! Delicious Breakfast. Beautiful view. Cute witches to purchase made by Bob's mom. Thank you thank you thank you Bob so much for your wonderful hospitality. You are a gem and so is your B&B. We can't wait to come back and next time hope to stay longer. Thanks for introducing us to sweet Willow.

Ailec G.

Yelp
Absolutely loved staying at this Bed and Breakfast! Everything from the flower boxes on the windows, to the creaky wooden stairs, and vintage rooms add to the charm of this place! It's conveniently located about a minute away from the harbor and right next to the House of Seven Gables! It's walkable to downtown Salem and nearby coffee shops and restaurants. Bob the innkeeper, and his dog Willow were wonderful hosts. Bob cooked delicious stuffed French toast and caramelized apple and bannana filled crepes in the morning. He was even sweet enough to get me some almond milk after I mentioned I couldn't drink regular milk! Breakfast felt like a tea party with the vintage tea cups and plates. Bob keeps his place spotlessly clean and so nicely decorated. I'd love to stay in the 3rd floor room next time to enjoy the rooftop deck and views of the harbor! I can't wait to go back to this magical town and stay at this precious B&B.

Yelp
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Marcel saying, "Your room is ready" to when we were leaving and Marcel offered us a ride to the ferry and took our photo in front of the house, we really did feel like we were visiting old friends. The house is very clean and in superb condition, decorated with a fun but tasteful New England cottage kind of feel. Along with the typical room amenities (including a window air conditioner) we had access to a small bar fridge (stocked with free bottled water) in the common area, as well as a Keurig coffee maker (also comp) and a computer workstation and free wi-fi. The view of the harbour from the rooftop terrace was very nice, and we enjoyed a drink on the lawn chairs while taking in the surrounding view. Breakfast was a delicious plate of pancakes with berries, walnuts, syrup with orange juice and (good) coffee. Our hosts greeted us by name, asked about our day and were very friendly and welcoming. Bob and Marcel are very warm and genuine hosts and made us feel very welcome. They provided meal recommendations (and did not lead us astray) and helped us with small details like a plastic bag to make it easier to carry our partial box of beer. We have no complaints about any aspect of our stay. We would definitely go back (and if we're ever in Salem again, will likely drop by to say hello to Marcel, a fellow Canadian!). Thanks guys, for making our stay in Salem a memorable one!

Tiffany M.

Yelp
My mom and I stayed here two years ago and were just WOWED by the care and cleanliness of the place, and the kindness of our hosts. I'm actually about to get a hold of them to see if I can get a booking this week=)

Mackenzie P.

Yelp
Awesome B&B!!! Stayed in the Bridget Bishop room, which at first definitely feels like you're staying in an old (almost creepy) Salem house. Trust me, the experience is well worth it. Bob is one of the nicest people I've ever met and has a beautiful home (with a great talent for yummy breakfasts). Each room is incredibly clean and very cozy. Breakfast is served 8:30-10 and by chance each room in the house ate at the same time each morning. We got to know each other well and had great conversations over Bobs phenomenal French toast (morning #1) and pancakes (morning #2) which made the stay that much better. The location is perfect with only a short walk to the wharf where many cute stores and good restaurants are. 110% would recommend to anyone staying in Salem to stay here instead of a boring hotel!! Thank you Bob!!

Jessica L.

Yelp
I came for my birthday and I love it here. Bob has been such a great hostess and so kind. The day of my birthday my friend and I went touring and when we came back to the room I seen the bear he puts on the bed with a happy birthday sign and a bottle of my favorite wine . I don't know how he Riesling was my favorite but it was the sweetest gesture. The rooms are so clean , he is on top of everything being clean and his breakfast is great especially his cheese bread. I love it here I wouldn't go to any other place to stay in salem .

Yelp
When my son and daughter-in-law invited us to spend Father's Day weekend reacquainting ourselves with the beautiful town of Salem, we decided to spend two nights at Morning Glory. Our complaint now is that no future visit to Salem will measure up unless we can savor the accommodations at this destination B&B. First of all, its location is ideal. It is across the street from The House of Seven Gables. An easy morning stroll takes one through the surrounds of this historical treasure. A few minutes more and you can see the Custom House and Derby wharf in the morning light. Returning to Morning Glory, you'll find hot coffee and warm English apple cake in the sitting room outside your room door. And the room. . .it's like stepping back into the 19th century. There are American primitive paintings, dolls and accoutrement. Our room, The Rebecca Nurse, had two sitting chairs, one replete with antimacassars. When's the last time you sat in a chair with antimacassars? Everything was spotless and all our needs were anticipated and met. Linens were spotless, towels were fluffy, and , my personal measure of excellence, the shower was well maintained, clean, and drained completely so you weren't standing in a pool of water. The bed in our room was very comfortable, but the second B, the breakfast, was fantastic. Stuffed french toast, fresh yogurt with fruit and granola on the first morning. Crepes jam-packed with fresh apple, berries and shredded cheese on morning two. Bob was present for each meal, introducing guests to one-another and engaging in conversation and advice. We left feeling that half the joy of our weekend was staying at Morning Glory. Thank you, Bob. I always sensed that people whose names were palindromes possessed some sort of magic. Yours is a part of Salems charm.

elizabeth k.

Yelp
Thanks Bob for a great start of our honeymoon! We recently stayed at The Morning Glory and it was just perfect! Bob was nice, friendly and helpful offering up suggestions on where to go. Everything was clean and decorated so nicely (and as you would want in Salem!). Bob also prepared a great breakfast! We can't wait to one day go back!

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Wonderful place to stay in Salem, great outdoor deck, delicious food, nice rooms (comfy bed, ac, tv). Friendly host and cute dog!

Stacey M.

Yelp
We have stayed in several bed and breakfasts along the east coast. This is, by far, one of the best. So quaintly decorated and welcoming. Accommodations were comfortable, not a detail was missed. To top it off, the rooftop patio has a beautiful view of the water. We will certainly come back!

Patrick M.

Yelp
This was a whim weekend to Salem. I just by chance found morning glory and booked it a few months earlier. I highly recommend if you are only staying in Salem do not get a car. I arrived at 10 am after a red eye flight. Marcel greeted me and said it was perfectly fine to check in. What a relief. After a very welcoming tour, I took a short rest before I started exploring. I met Bob and we talked about the area. I never sleep in past 6 am but the bed and just the atmosphere made me sleep in until 9:30. The b&b is close to everything. I walked and walked and walked. It felt like home returning after my excursions. Definitely will return and stay again, you will not be diasappointed!

Jim M.

Yelp
This place was awesome, my only regret was that Bob and Marcel were on vacation so we didn't get to meet them! On the other hand Bob's parents were holding down the fort and they were absolutely wonderful. A beautiful room, rooftop deck with wonderful view (nice for wine after dinner), a really good breakfast and some of the friendliest folks in the world. I hope we can return soon!

Dan J.

Yelp
My wife and i stayed at the Morning Glory B&B on 5-18/19-12. What a beautiful stay. Bob an Marcel were wonderful hosts. The home and room (Rebecca nurse) we stayed in was wonderful. The breakfast we had both mornings was incredible. We really enjoyed sitting down at their lovely table with other guest and them and hearing about all their stories. We highly recommend if you are going to Salem to stay with them and you will not be disappointed. We will stay there again when we come back. Bob and Marcel even let us leave our car parked there while we did some more walking around Salem. We really appreciated that when we came back to our car we found a wonderful note attached to our car along with one of our phone chargers that we have left behind. Thank you again so much for the wonderful stay!! We look fwd to staying with them again in the future.

Nicole T.

Yelp
Everything about the Morning Glory is perfect. My husband and I just stayed there for our second time, and we couldn't be happier. Bob creates a very welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast is delicious, everything is impeccably clean, and the house is so well decorated for every season. The Morning Glory feels like a home away from home.

Mike G.

Yelp
Morning Glory Bed & Breakfast is an amazing experience! In fact, it's even mentioned in the song "Spirit of Salem" by the rock band Majungas. Listen to a free stream of it here: www.majungastheband.com

Rebecca L.

Yelp
We recently spent two nights at Morning Glory. It's the best we've ever visited. The room had Old World charm and was very clean and comfortable. Bob was a sincere, friendly host who served delicious breakfasts that were well presented. Additionally, for literary minded folks, Salem's gem, the House of the Seven Gables, is only a few footsteps away.

D L.

Yelp
Read all the reviews!! What can I say. I agree with all of them! I am a local. I live 15 minutes away from here. We stayed here and my husband and I thought it was like a resort!! A roof deck that looks over Salem harbor, a garden in a nice cozy corner with seating and tables like you would have for friends. So comfy!! And a hot fresh breakfast they cook every morning for guests. Ummm, yeah, this local has decided not to go to NH EVA!!! I WILL REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT!!

C A.

Yelp
This is a great place; beautifully done and very welcoming. The location is super to get to all the local attractions and a beautiful bay right at the end of the street. I had to leave before the breakfast, so means I need to return here again.

Shannon M.

Yelp
The Sarah Goode Suite at the top is charming and roomy! The location is great - walking distance to shops and restaurants. Upper outside deck with view of the bay/marina and wonderful breezes in the evening. Home made breakfast. And most importantly - very friendly owners! We felt like we were staying at a friend's house.
