Amazing baked goods and fresh produce. Always love stopping here when I’m on the island

Marnely Murray

Google
Morning Glory Farm is one of the best farms on island in my opinion. A family farm, they supply ingredients to so many island homes and restaurants. Thankful because I live just five minutes away! If you're visiting, it's a must because it's a great spot to stock up for food if you're staying in a rental and wanting to cook local island produce. Also a great farm stand to pick up beach food - they have everything from a delicious salad bar to baked goods, cheeses, crackers, charcuterie, and so much more. Need peanut butter? They grind their own and it comes in a glass jar (yei no plastic!); need flowers for a dinner, they have them; want some beach plum jam, they make their own - also their strawberry jam is amazing! Plus they have ready. to eat dinners like tacos, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, and so much more, easy to reheat when you're on the go. Morning Glory Farm - definitely a favorite on island!

Accessible off the bike trail or by car, Morning Glory Farm serves breakfast pastries and also has a great selection of vegetables, breads, meats and fruit. Seasonal outdoor decor too

Google
Morning Glory Farm is the place to go if you're looking for fresh produce, cheese, and meat. They also sell coffee, kombucha, soup — and a whole bunch of other goodies to stock your home with while you're on the Vineyard. While it can be busy at times, Morning Glory moves people through the check-out line quickly, so it's never a pain.

Google
Excellent selection of products. They even represented my home state with a selection of cheeses from arethusa farms (litchfield, ct). If I had to buy ginger here, I would be bankrupt (9.95 a lb)

Google
Excellent farmers market and great food tuck with picnic tables for lunch!

Google
great selection in flowers and foods

Google
We love coming here to get our flowers, pumpkins and fruits and veggies. Their salad bar is amazing and the selection of baked goods a plus. It’s a great place to grab a coffee and head outside to sit and enjoy time in their relaxing garden setting.

Yelp
Such a cute farm! They have a breakfast food truck in the back which was really cute. The breakfast sandwich yummy but basic. At least it's all fresh. The place has a huge parking lot which is convenient as well.

Yelp
**EAT HERE! GO HERE! SHOP HERE! COME HUNGRY HERE!** This place is amazing! First of all, it is adorable and a photo wonderland! We ate at the food truck before going inside. We had the chicken salad sandwich which was so good and packed with chicken. It was not runny and was not over mayonnaised, (not a word but you know what Im talking about). The bread was delicious! We had their strawberry Lemonade and that was average. I was expecting it to be a bit more fruity but it was fine. When we went inside our jaws dropped to the floor. SO MANY YUMMY THINGS TO EAT!!!!!. It's a bakery fantasy world. Good luck not buying one of everything. The Zucchini loaf IS SO DELICIOUS. It was the prefect amount of moist and gooey inside with a little chewy top. The RYE BROWNIE!!!!!!! GET THE RYE BROWNIE. This is single handedly the best brownie I have ever had in my life!!!!!!!! The Oatmeal Cookie!!!! OMG GET THE OATMEAL COOKIE! SO chewy and oaty and sweet but salty and brown sugar delectable!!! We also got the Apple Tart which was not seasoned well enough but the tart dough was delicious!!! The apples just needed some Vanilla extract and some more sugar or honey. The apples were a bit raw also. It was huge tho! The produce was unlike anything I have ever seen. SO many varieties of vegetables, fruits, peppers, squash, and pumpkins. The vast variety of baked goods and breads was mind blowing . They also have a cold case of meats, cheeses, spreads and dips. They have a salad bar and fresh soups. Goodies like popcorn, candy and chips. Muddled Hot Apple Cider smelled so good. They have corn hole, a seating area with picnic tables, Fresh Flowers and plants. This place has everything! I HIGHLY recommend coming here. Their merch is super cute too!!! The staff was helpful and friendly and really appreciative of your business. JUST GO HERE ALREADY!!!!!!!!

Yelp
NIce produce, a little pricey, good selection of quality stuff. The staff are a bit on the rude side however. They are very pushy, sort of a get in and then get out kind of way They have a nice selection of baked goods as well and while I didn't buy any, their loaves of bread look fresh. It seems like a nice place to stop buy for a an outdoor lunch or breakfast and there doesn't seem to be too many options around anyway. It is worth a single look at least

Yelp
Morning Glory is a great little market in Edgartown. They have a ton of fresh produce and artisan foods. Prepared foods, delicious baked goods, and coffee! I love coming here and supporting the local farm while enjoying some delicious high quality food. Definitely would recommend checking it out.

Yelp
Ecobags for 12.95 very nice and great price. Lots of fresh vegetables and baked goods. Reminds me how wonderful farms are.

Yelp
We loved everything about this place. We went on a beautiful day after a huge breakfast. Since we were full, we didn't try the interesting food truck unfortunately. We did take photos and play corn toss. We sampled hot cider and got a few items for later. The fresh cut flowers were glorious and the pumpkins were nicely shaped and colorful. Such a cute place with an amazing selection of items! Fruit, veggies, candy, cheeses, spices and bakery items.

Yelp
Wonderful! I cannot say enough about the fresh produce, flowers, prepared food and meals, bakery!!, and food truck! As a baker of butter biscuits from scratch and one who grew up making gravy (sausage, mushroom, or Red-eye), I was impressed! Our breakfast order was an order of shrimp and grits & biscuits and gravy plus two coffees. We were informed it would take 18 minutes to fill our order. I feel like if I am told, up front, that I'm going to have to wait, then I get to make the informed decision whether I want to wait or not. I like that! Great food & honest service!

Yelp
Went on a Friday afternoon, June 23rd. It was busy, but had enough parking. Pleasant staff at the registers. If you don't bring your own bags, they have them for 25 cents each. The market is a good size. The baked goods are huge and priced higher than you'd find on the mainland- but that's to be expected. Their produce is top-notch! Hard to decide what we wanted. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
We have been to Morning Glory many, many times over the years, so not sure why we've never done a review before. This place is an institution and their pies have definitely earned a warranted reputation as being the best. The baked goods though? Not as much fanfare--the past several times we've stopped by in the morning to get some, they've seen better days. Most recently, our brownie and "starry night cookie" were so overly crumbly and not particularly flavorful. They were fine, we ate them, but still. Anyway, it's a lovely place to grab a coffee or some produce and just explore and relax. There's a food truck we've never tried that looks good, and no doubt we'll try it eventually because we try to come every time we're on the island (but now that there's Grey Barn....). Four sentimental stars.

Barbara L.

Yelp
Just bought a pecan pie at their awesome bakery. BUT...the crust around the rim was mostly broken. The crust was wrapped around and under the lip of the pie plate! Thereby crumbling. Also the bottom crust could not cut cleanly. Result... had to serve it in bowls

Yelp
Always a perfect spot for delicious produce and baked goods! I come to the vineyard and first thing is visit Morning Glory Farms...
google avatar

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Great spot for fresh produce and baked goods on MV! Everything's a bit pricey, but I guess you're paying for quality. The brown sugar chocolate chip cookie is absolutely decadent. Every bite is extremely rich and full of flavor without feeling like you're just eating pure sugar. The morning glory muffin was also great and jam packed with nuts and raisins to provide a nutrient-rich snack. So moist and flavorful and such a great little pick me up in the middle of the day. They also sell plants and other goods, so definitely recommend checking them out!

Yelp
Price of the pies are up to $29 which feels so wrong. Most of the products at the farm stand aren't even from the farm. Was t even any meat this time we visited. It's just gone downhill every year we've gone in the last 5 years, considerably worse than what's available up island.
google avatar

Yelp
We were shocked... absolutely gobsmacked that Martha's Vineyard had such fresh and wonderful produce and meats. So of course we loved Morning Glory Farm. We actually went several times during our visit, preparing for yet another covid-era, safe-at-home feast with friends and family. Great times... Check them out.

Yelp
Love Morning Glory Farm. My happy place every time I come to my vacation house. The take out foods are so good that we stock up when we leave the Island. Today I tried the food truck at the Farm. They definitely need to refine this. The cashier was amazing. The food was in edible. Husband asked for english muffin, got a dried out biscuit breakfast sandwich, the egg was kind of a mini omelet - maybe 2"x1", super tiny, one 2" piece bacon. Mine was an english muffin, same size egg, one mini slice avocado and two mini tomatoes. 2 ice teas. Over $30. Crazy expensive. The workers in the truck did not have hair back nor gloves. It is a great idea, but needs work! Hope they work it our. Tourists will pay for anything. But why not do it right?
google avatar

Erin W.

Yelp
Beautiful farm with an indoor grocery and a delicious food truck next door. Their breakfast sandwiches are great and they also have unique beverage options, like vanilla bean lemonade! It's a great place to grab a coffee to-go, to pick up some fresh produce, or to enjoy some breakfast on their lawn, surrounded by flowers! The first and last stop on any trip to Edgartown!

Chris W.

Yelp
Ordered sandwiches in advance, arrived and they told us they cancelled our order and were closed. Very rude. We will see if they refund our money!!

Yelp
What's not to like about this place! From the produce to the help (sweet local girls), its an oasis. An island that suffers from mainly exorbitantly priced food as it needs to be trucked and ferried in needs a local farm with a great market like this. They grow much of the produce themselves onsite in a number of climate controlled greenhouses out back. The leaf and bib lettuce we got there was "to die for." They also have fresh flowers and cheeses! The market space is bright and open and the prices, for the most part, are very reasonable by MV standards. When we are on island, this is a fun "must stop."
google avatar

Yelp
A very nice and welcoming farmer's market and small farm. Wide range of produce, flowers, herbs and fruits. Good juices cheeses and breads. I liked the wasabi flavored chips which had a significant bite to them. There are outdoor wooden tables on which guests can eat their salads and other foods.

Eddie W.

Yelp
The people and the products are top shelf. My family has been coming to this establishment for over two decades and it keeps getting better every year.
google avatar

Yelp
Never visit the island without a trip to the Farm. The flowers & produce are fresh & a feast for the eyes. Tried the Dijon chicken salad and a roasted tomato & feta quiche for home. Both were delicious.
google avatar

Jaimee A.

Yelp
Love love love this market! The only thing that would make this place perfect is if they kept the salad bar open all day. We came at around 5pm and the salad bar was done for the day. The produce is amazing, the salad bar puts Whole Foods to shame - edible flowers, tons of sprouts and curried croutons - so good. The pies are delicious. We had the peach strawberry and lemon march, both are delicious. My girls love the muffins. The citrus ricotta cookies taste homemade. The fresh basil makes you stop in your tracks and wish you had a full kitchen to cook it in (we are in a hotel). This place is pricy but well worth it.
google avatar

Andi B.

Yelp
Oh, how I love Morning Glory! From their farm fresh produce to their baked goods to their flowers to the kombucha, it is easy to drop some serious $$ here. As for the must gets: corn (if in season), cheddar biscuits, strawberry rhubarb pie or peach blueberry pie, and soup (any and all are yummy!). Tip: if you want pies, they usually come out around noon. A trek to Morning Glory is always worth it!
google avatar

Pamela J.

Yelp
Love coming to this place. Being greeted by wonderful farm fresh flowers is a joy. And the abundance of vegetables and farm fresh items is exquisite. Baked goods always great. I prefer when there's more gluten free from which to choose. Good change this year with moving the salad bar. If suggest to make it even more plentiful and bountiful. The prepared options in it are a little bland and ordinary. Too bad you didn't expand the juice bar last year but the options you have are ok. I like the simple cucumber, lemon juice. It was refreshing. Guys, guys, guys. You are a farm. It's about nature and Mother Earth. Please inform check out clerks NOT to offer bags for 1 or 2 items. It's the antithesis of what farming and nature is about. When I pointed this out to the clerk, she could barely comprehend bags were wasteful. Her response was, "well they are paper".

Yelp
Banana cream pies are in the rear refrigerator. You need to know this. Now that you know this, here are other things to know. The produce is local, as in from right outside, except when it's not. Be forewarned, not all of their goods are the farmland's bounty - not that it matters, because most are so fresh, they're still soil filthy. I dig that. Good for what's necessary, and apparently one of the best on the Cape, what strikes me most about Morning Glory is for all their space, the inventory feels a bit limited. Which is a shame, as what's there is at its prime -firm or soft, fragrant or piquant (house made pickles? LET'S DO THIS!) An excellent stop at the forefront of your lazy week on the Vineyard. A slight ding for the dry baked goods - I had such high hopes for you, blueberry corn muffin!
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
The produce is top shelf, backed goods are hard to pass up and the atmosphere is comforting. A rocking chair beacons a shopper to sit next to the wood stove and take a break. There is something here for everyone. Island meats, prepared foods, a bakery, produce from the Morning Glory farm and off island. local is emphasized.
google avatar

Yelp
I always look forward to visiting and shopping here. Very fresh, organic yummy foods!!! Fabulous staff ! Helpful and friendly!

Michelle L.

Yelp
Stopped for some baked goods to take hiking with us and they did not disappoint! The cheddar and herb biscuit was so, so good and the banana chocolate chip muffin was delicious!

Will M.

Yelp
WHOOAA!! Is there no shred of embarrassment or ethics in upping your already sky-high prices of 2020 to these exorbitant escalations for 2021. Is the thinking that we're all stupid and wouldn't really notice or we all just have money to burn? The price of soup doubled for a slightly larger container.... Price for a serving for plain ole Mac & Cheese $13.95, baby! Three barbecued chicken thighs to go.. $17.95. Etcetera ad nauseam. Has this business no shame in branding themselves as a "community farm" and asset? We realize they are trying to support a large extended family in an 8-month season....but, what small local business is able to do that? Seems like they've chosen their path with an unabashed, unspoken branding of " Rip 'em off for whatever the market will bear" BTW they are NOT even certified organic for these outrageous prices. We will look to the integrity of the small up-island farms for our year-round supplies from hereon in.

Yelp
We rode our bikes here three times on vacation. Loved the variety and availability of fresh fruit and vegetables. The bakery items (bread, muffins were great...cookies tasted like they were maybe better the day before) My daughter loved the kombucha. The smoked cheddar was fantastic. Definitely on the pricy side but good quality
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Fantastic seasonal produce, friendly employees, delicious baked goods, house-made spreads, and soups, and glorious wild flower bouquets!! Oh, and their farm-raised free range chickens are TO-DIE-FOR!!!! Yup, this place is pricier than produce off-island...but you have to remember just that: you're on an island, things cost more to produce here because they have to shoulder the cost of bringing equipment, etc. from the mainland. This is true of most islands! But the produce at Morning Glory Farm are not any more expensive than most of the other farm stands on the island, and are excellent quality! My mother is addicted to their sharp cheddar cheese. My sister is addicted to their pies. I'm addicted to their pumpkin cream cheese spreads (they change periodically)!! Every year for Mother's Day, I send my mother a gift certificate to this farm instead of wasting a bazillion dollars on sending crappy flowers via some shifty website...she appreciates this so much more, because she can go on a shopping spree that includes lots of healthy, delicious foods to put in her body!!! When I'm on-island, this is always one of my first stops :)

Yelp
England has Buckingham Palace and The Tower of London. The island has Morning Glory Farm. The Athearns have been operating this amazing place since the 1970s. They grow all kinds of vegetables and fruit on the 50 acres of land that the farm uses; you can see some of this space from the road. They sell it in the picturesque farm stand that is about a mile from downtown Edgartown. My favorite time here is the fall, when the corn is abundant and picked three times a day, the tomatoes are just as juicy and ripe as can be, and the hint of a chill is felt in the air. They sell lots of baked goods from their kitchen, including assorted pies, quiche, breads and muffins, and they have a decent salad bar for lunch. (Please keep in mind that non-local food like limes and lemons are obviously not grown here yet are displayed right next to the local crops. The prices for those things are much higher here than any other place on the island by far. They sure look pretty, but they are not local and not cheap) They also sell organic eggs, cheese, meat and other items, many of them from other island farms and merchants. You can find bath salts, honey, jam, pasta, fresh herbs, flowers and pre-made take out food. You can order your organic turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and then they close down and hibernate until spring time, taking a well-deserved break. The people who work here are all relaxed, hard working and polite. (I have known many of them over the years, so I may be biased.) It's not always easy work, but they are patient and gracious all the time. I wish the same could be said for some of the customers here, but that is hardly the fault of Morning Glory Farm. Sadly, some of the summer visitors are shockingly rude in here which can be disturbing to those of us with a mellow attitude. The same people who try to cut into the line and berate the hard working staff are just as rude in the parking area, which can be jam packed at key times during the day. But that's the island in the summer for you. Bring your camera, bring your appetite and bring your wallet - it is expensive, but it is worth every penny.

Yelp
Plain and simple, I love Morning Glory Farm. They have the freshest, most beautiful produce his gal has ever seen, all grown right there on the Farm by the Athern family - a clan of Vineyarders that have been around for generations, most of them farming. There is an emphasis on quality and the type of hands-on work that you don't see all that often anymore. The farm stand is very much a farm-to-consumer operation with both the farm and market workers buzzing about, constantly replenishing the in-season veggies, fruits, herbs and flowers. Morning Glory also makes their own pickled items - the beets are my favorite. There is a salad bar and sandwich counter all the way in the back, so you can pick up your lunch on your way to the beach. They have a few refrigerators that hold cheeses, cold drinks, dairy and the like. It's hard for me to go in here and NOT want to buy everything in site - the produce is so gorgeous, rustic and fresh!

Erika T.

Yelp
Such a great place!! The negative reviews almost changed my mind on visiting but I'm glad I ignored them. This place has everything you need! One star off because yes, it is a bit expensive, but keep in mind MV is a summer destination and I'm sure having a farm like this means a lot of upkeep during the off season months and also because their check out line is chaos. But it's really a great little place with a lot of fresh produce, eggs, milk etc. everything you need for a week or weekend!
google avatar

Ryan D.

Yelp
Local farm carrying (mostly) local items. Tons to choose from -- baked goods are great, 20oz iced coffee is $3.75 (total rip off) though it is good coffee. Any quart of milk (regular, coffee, chocolate) in a glass jar has a $1.50 bottle deposit, so you're not shocked when it rings up $4.75. Price is worth it though since smaller size plastic is $2.75. Cool little maze in the back for kids to play. Lots of outdoor seating.
google avatar

Shonda H.

Yelp
One of my first stops on the island. Super cute indoor fresh market with amazing banana bread, zucchini bread and blueberry stuffed muffins. Delicious!!

John T.

Yelp
The farm offers a wide variety of LOCAL high quality fresh produce, cheese, meat and baked goods. The focus is their own and on island products. They increases their radius as necessary to round out the inventory, so products like cheeses are from throughout New England. The farm is a fun place to visit and is a true gem in Edgartown. You will love your time there and will leave with a smile on your face :). Fresh, Local, Lovely.

Ellen M.

Yelp
Totally amazing - I received an apology from the store saying that about half of their goods are farm fresh. I guess the logic is - it's okay to be ripped off for half of what they sell! Typical island mentality.
google avatar

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
We passed by Morning Glory Farm during a Sunday drive and immediately pulled a u-turn to stop inside! We had just come from Ghost Island Farms but decided to stop anyways. They had a decent selection of produce, not much of which was grown on the island. Yet we still walked away with $50 worth of goods. The cashier was not very pleasant, but I can imagine the frustration on a holiday weekend. But the part that really was a bummer. Was the 2 two 10-ish year old brother and sister team with a "Free Lemonade" stand on the corner. As I never pass down a lemonade stand, I had some cash for these two, and they explained that they couldn't sell it because Morning Glory Farms wouldnt let them. This did not seem as though it was in line with the business model of the local, sustainable building a mere 100yards away...

Maggie W.

Yelp
Stopped at Morning Glory on our way off island to pick up some of their famous baked goods. We've been coming here for years. The prices are high but the quality is usually there. We were very disappointed this time. The Anadama bread and the banana bread were both burned on the bottom and sides. Blackened my cutting board. QC needs to be better. We will still be back.
google avatar

Yoly O.

Yelp
This is our go-to place the minute we step foot on the island. Great baked goods, incredible produce, and the most extraordinary chocolate milk ever!
google avatar

Irene V.

Yelp
Family owned lots of organic food market great produce at good prices lots of plants and herbs Service is very helpful
google avatar

Robbie O.

Yelp
Our go to place on the island for veggies, produce, pies, and other farm stand items. Expensive for sure, but the food is always fresh and don't mind paying extra to support local businesses like this one, which has been around forever.

Lila B.

Yelp
Very sad to report old arrugala in beet salad very unappetizing no reason for this with all the beautiful fresh vegetables displayed my husband had kale and lettuce salad same problem in the bottom was slimey black old greens for the price this should be all fresh . The chicken Waldorf salad was good and bread good
google avatar

Andrew G.

Yelp
New to writing yelp reviews and was shocked when I popped by here to see that MGF only has 4 stars. This place is special, it's one of those spots you walk into and say wow I'm glad I stumbled in here. If you are there in the summer you have to buy the corn on the cob. The balsamic vinaigrette is the best I've had. I Wish I could buy it at my local grocery store. I'd also recommend the chicken and tuna salad. They both make great beach sandwiches.
google avatar

Mai Linh N.

Yelp
I can't say that I was really impressed as I'm comparing everything here to Bartlett Farm on Nantucket, which blows this place out of the water. It's good I think as far as fancy grocery shopping you aren't going to find better. The cheese Selection was impressive. The Red peppers I bought had mold inside of them... everything else was good and fresh for produce. Be careful with prices here because my kids slipped malt balls into the cart and I didn't think anything of it, when I checked out I found out they were 15.00 plus dollars. Just be aware as it's extremely expensive with certain items.

Mary F.

Yelp
A nice shopping experience... old fashioned shopping baskets.... milk in glass bottles.....corn is amazing....BUT the bakery is hit or miss.... zucchini has been dry..... cookies have been day old but sell for the fresh price. I bought a chocolate cookie today..... I could use it as a hockey puck
google avatar

John N.

Yelp
Morning Glory Farm is my Favorite farm on Martha Vineyard. The vegetables are as fresh as possible and their are a large selection to choose from. My 1st day off, we came here to see what they have and what we can buy for home usage. They have fruits, vegetables and everything in between. There are GREAT salad bar which has tons of organic veggie that you normally don't put on your salad and their soup are delicious and homemade. We brought a few things from the stores and want outside on the benches to sit and enjoy our salad. I have to say, this is one of the best salad that I ever eaten and normally I hate eating salad. The people are very friendly and helpful. I really want to come back just for the salad right now, pure deliciousness!!!!! FYI-the fruits and vegetables are a little expensive

Yelp
Sloppy Allergy Labeling My daughter has a peanut allergy and had a reaction after eating the banana bread. Their disclosure practices are terrible. Ingredients: banana, flour, sugar, egg, butter, baking powder, baking soda & spices
