I went on an evening food tour in Marrakech flying solo. I was joined by two other couples and a family of three and nabbed the last spot. Eight was a good number! Entertaining but we all got the good of the tour guide.
We met in front of the post office and headed off for three and a half hours. The food was a brilliant selection - lamb, doughnuts, olives, snails, cous cous, tea, bakery stop for savoury and sweet pastries and rounded off on a rooftop with a refreshing smoothie and biscuits. There was plenty of food to go round and no pressure if some of it wasn’t for you (snails weren’t for me but the others in the group happily ate my share!).
Our tour guide was well prepared with wipes, tissues and sanitiser which was a helpful touch. He was super friendly and willing to answer all our questions from food to politics/royal family, what to see in the area, where to eat etc. Came back with a great list for the rest of the week.
He knew so many people in the souks and was clearly well regarded. We were treated brilliantly wherever we went.
For 3.5 hours of food, advice and guiding, the ticket is well worth it. Highly recommend.
