the food here was spectacular! i ordered the buttermilk chicken and it was amazing. it was very nicely presented and the sides were great as well! the service was prompt and very attentive. i also appreciated the complementary bread with two different dipping options. overall, i would recommend visiting this restaurant if craving a higher end atmosphere with delicious food.

Some years ago, chef Ed Moro put the Mirbeau Spa restaurant on the map before opening his own establishment, Moro's Table, in Auburn NY, about a 40-minute drive from downtown Syracuse. On a good night, the restaurant ranks among the best in the area and is well worth the drive. Unfortunately, we recently discovered that consistency in the preparation of menu items can be a problem, so my rating was adjusted downward by 1 star. As a starter, I recommend their house salad with miso ginger dressing. As an entree, try the strip steak or whatever steak they have as a special. The wine list is not strong, but the cocktails are good. Service is always excellent, and the ambience is conducive to an enjoyable evening meal with friends. UPDATE-1: We returned to this restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday. Our guest enjoyed an appetizer of fried green tomatoes, while my wife and I enjoyed an order of mussels and a garden salad with miso ginger dressing. Our guest and my wife were not so fortunate in their choice of a main course. They ordered the pan seared scallops which were a variation from the regular menu item in that the five scallops were set over corn risotto. This dish paled in comparison to my grilled beef tenderloin. I gave them each a quarter of my steak and they thought it was spectacular, as did I. It came with delicious carrots and al dente brussel sprouts, and I requested french fries in place of the mashed potatoes. UPDATE-2: We have enjoyed this restaurant for years but something was wrong in the kitchen on this visit. We started with complimentary hot tomato oil and bread and an order of muscles with mushrooms and bacon. Both were excellent. However from there everything went downhill. It was a very long delay between the time we finished our appetizer and the time when our mains were delivered. The side salad had almost no dressing on it so by the time the top layer was finished I was eating wet lettuce. I ordered fried chicken. It arrived burnt with almost no flavor. My wife ordered a burger with a side of vegetables. The burger bun was seriously burnt, and although she requested no added salt on the vegetables, they were delivered very salty. It seemed all the customers in the restaurant were impatient with the slow service, and we left thinking that one or probably more kitchen staff must have called in sick.

We had another perfect meal at Moro’s Table last evening. The entire experience from reservations to saying goodnight was wonderful. I had the Chai Spiced Pork Loin and my husband the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. We shared the Classic Caesar Salad from the specials menu. The food was all outstanding and beautifully presented. (That salad - what kind of magic makes a salad taste that good? I would love to see that as a regular on the menu with a nice protein choice added for a lighter meal option in the summer months) Our server, Lauren, was kind, informative, and helpful, making our meal all the more enjoyable. It was a cool night and we were seated next to a fireplace making it cozy. We’re lucky to live close to such a great place. We’re already talking about our next visit.

The staff were kind and accommodating throughout the evening and service was prompt and fluid. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Love that they offer full and half orders. A special shout-out to how beautifully cooked the sides were. Everyone loves a good main but when you put the effort into the veggies that come with the main, to make them delicious you deserve more accolades. Absolutely nailed it. It was a Friday evening not overly busy for an earlier dinner, but they do take reservations so it never hurts to get one. Easy place to recommend, Enjoy!!

We had an incredible evening at Moro’s Table! We started with the charcuterie and the pork stickers—both were outstanding and set the night off perfectly. For entrées, we had the boneless beef ribs and the red snapper, and each dish was cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was spot on. A true gem in Auburn—highly recommend!

My wife and I made reservations for the bar. Dominic was our server and he did an outstanding job. He was always pleasant and timely with beverages. I had the Beef Tenderloin full plate and my wife had the Red Snapper. We were sharing our two dishes as we both wanted to try the other's selection. I was thoroughly happy with my Beef Tenderloin dish as it came out Medium as I ordered it. It was tender and seasoned well. When my wife tried it she wanted to steal my selection because it was much better than her Red Snapper. I didn't like the Red Snapper either. It had no flavor, was tough (I have never had Red Snapper that was as dried out and tough as this one was) My perspective is that it was totally over cooked. So, if I were to split our Food review, the Beef Tenderloin was a 5, but the Red Snapper was barely a 2. I'm sure we'll give them another try as we had a pleasant time, with nice company and service at the bar.

Was testing out Moro's Table for a possible rehearsal dinner venue. We made reservations in advance, and it was our first time visiting Auburn. The exterior of the restaurant didn't give any impressions of what it would be like inside the venue. The restaurant opened its doors around 4:30, and we were the first diners inside. Jazz music and darker paint tones created an atmosphere suitable for a nice date night, and the space that can be reserved for events could comfortably accommodate 20-25 guests. Food was great, but I think the table service was even better. Will be going back to try more menu options and see if service and atmosphere are just as good during their busiest hours!

We had no reservations but wanted to just have a drink, bar was full. They accommodated us with a nice high top & we decided to have supper. Love the option for a smaller, less expensive plates. We both ordered the $30, 5oz tenderloin & it was perfect.

Really disappointing..visited Moro's in Skaneatles and liked the experience.Was expecting the same here but was really let down.The food was a split decision between a party of 5..2 loved it( the filet and seafood patties) 2 liked it but not loved it.and one thought it was terrible (the Risotto was awful) ... But the service is what really ruined the evening for us.Seated promptly at our reserved time of 6:45 but waited for the first acknowledgement of our presence till 7:05-:20 mins...nothing.Our eventual waitress passed us at least 5-7 times and never even looked our direction.The first greeting at 7:10 was "What do you need to drink?" No Hello,no specials,no menus except for drinks.Then we waited some more..at least :10 minutes for the drinks. All tables had bread except for ..us.Had to ask. Service was just unwelcoming and poor.Then the argument started with what to tip..I said give her the minimum...ended up at 15% and felt it was way too much for our bill total. Will not be back

For reliably great food and an unhurried, uncrowded setting, it is hard to beat Moro's Table. Four of us went here again on a Saturday night, and had another great meal. Wait staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Will be back

From the minute, we called the maître D to see if by chance he had a table for two, now? We were so impressed. Yes there was a table ready for the two of us on a moments notice and then the bread came... goodness goodness goodness. And they make the bread right there on site. There are no words to describe how delicious that bread was. And then we received our menus to our surprise. You could order a small plate or a large plate if you chose. My daughter and I each chose a small plate and we shared a Caesar salad. We each had an adult beverage and I can't begin to tell you the wonderful service we received it was prompt. We explained that we were attending a show at the Rev and they got us in and out of there in probably 40 minutes, the food is more than five star. It was wonderful the next time we are anywhere near Auburn, New York you can be sure we will find Moro's table

Absolutely loved the food. The salad was fresh and a great size. Their fries are out of this world and the mussels were super flavorful. The cocktail was well made and tasty as well. We had great service and were able to enjoy the nice weather in their patio. Highly recommend giving Moros a try.

Everything was amazing here. Maybe it was that their menu just seemed to have a lot of the things we like, but all in one place. Oysters on the half shell were fresh, clean, and well shucked. Crab rangoon sushi roll was great. My snapper with mango salsa was delicious. My wife said the tenderloin she ordered was the most tender and best she'd ever had. If we vacation at the Finger Lakes again, we will be back.

I used to live in Auburn and went to Moro's table a lot more often than I do now, but I have always enjoyed them as a special occasion restaurant. We went a few weeks ago for Mother's Day brunch. What drew me to their menu was that it wasn't a buffet but rather a pre-select 3 or 4 course menu (similar to Dining Weeks). The restaurant itself is very nice, kitty corner to Wegmans in Auburn. They have some parking out front and additional parking behind the restaurant. My only complaint was that it was a little dark inside the restaurant. The food and service were great! The chicken and waffles was sweet but packed a little heat. The bread pudding dessert is on their normal menu and is something I would get every time. The sweet custard and bites of chocolate chips and fruit make you want to lick the bowl clean! Definitely check them out next time you find yourself in Auburn, Ny

Moro's was excellent! I asked for cup of the soup (butternut) and received a huge bowl. With that an app we shared, I never got to my dinner (beef tenderloin). However, double the pleasure as I had my tenderloin the following day and it was superb! Staff was very friendly. Highly recommend!

From a quaint dinner for two or an entire office staff, Moro's Table is a good option. The service and food is always good, if not great. I did experience one meal (and a cohort did as well) with the twin filet's, where one was nice and tender and the other tough as rawhide. We didn't complain about it (being a company sponsor paid for it) but we should have. This is not a cheap eats establishment.

My my! How unsuspecting! We almost thought we were about to enter the wrong place. On the outside it truly doesn't look like much as the signage is pretty "bland" and the building isn't elaborate. But the second you step in, you'll say "oooooo!" Beautifully lit and inviting bar area, you'll feel right at home. The staff were very welcoming and we were seated right away as we had earlier reservations (5:00pm). Good selections on the menu. I was impressed with the variety of flavors and choices that were available for the mussels. I chose the curry and it was AMAZING! My beet salad tasted light and fresh. The dipping sauce for the fries were fantastic! The next time I'm in Auburn I will definitely stop by! I'm so glad we found it!

The interior is dark, crowded, and loud. We reserved a booth, but, sorry, they didn't have one for us. We asked to be seated in a quieter corner, but, sorry, all those tables were reserved. It took involving the manager to be seated on the patio, which was open and available. We ordered, and were there OVER AN HOUR before the food arrived--no explanation or apology. In fact, our waitress wouldn't make eye contact, as two other parties arrived, ordered, ate, and left. When the food finally arrived, one plate had been under the heat lamps so long that the sauce was baked to the plate. Glitches may happen, but they should be explained, apologized for, and remedied. This was some of the poorest service I've had.

Easy 5 stars here. I sat outside and was pleased that the outdoor area was not treated as an afterthought and the outside equipment was in good working order. The food was GREAT, that tomato dipping sauce for the bread was really great. I got the mussels in pernod and fennel and they were amazing! I sort of wish I had gotten the lambchops but I got this african pasta dish that was really good. The service was attentive without being overbearing and the sidecar was excellent, almost good as mine at home! Overall this was one of my more favorite dinners!! Great job!!

One of the worse meals I have had in a while. My husband and I had always wanted to try Moros Table and being disappointed is an understatement. We both ordered the special- blackened haddock with spinach and risotto. The fish had what looked and tasted like a sprinkle of paprika on it-something we could have cooked at home. It definitely wasnt blackened. When I asked where the spinach was-they brought me out a side after I had finished. The spinach was the best tasting of the entire meal. My husband asked for a side of broccoli instead of the risotto and got 3 tiny pieces of broccoli and no spinach. The waitress apologized and said the bar tender cut her hand-but what does that have to do with our less than mediocre meal prepared in the kitchen? Just terrible. Sheila Kelly

Wonderful food, nice atmosphere! Cozy, intimate setting. I try to dine here every time I visit Skaneateles. This dish is delicious... warm, creamy, earthy wholesome taste. Very filling

Service was good, ease of reservation but food was not up to par. Steak frites was grizzly and tough. Fries not special. I had mussels which were good, sauce unexceptional and bread had a topping which did not add to the dish. We expected far better.

We had an excellent dinner here last week while visiting wineries in the area. Moro's Table really knocked the food quality out of the park. Everything we ordered was delicious. I enjoyed the beet salad, which was generously portioned and had homemade candied pecans that were particularly tasty. The salmon special was nicely prepared. My husband had the scallops and found them to be very good as well. If you order a side of fries, it is huge! Great for sharing. They are doing the best they can to provide a comfortable experience during COVID. There are some outdoor tables in the back, and any tables seated within the restaurant are spaced out generously. The staff was friendly.

3 couples enjoyed the food and overall ambience. My wife and I had scallops which were excellent. Very popular place, we were glad to get in for dinner. Fusion menu. Varied. Something for all.

I went to this restaurant to celebrates a friends birthday the ambiance was a little loud but it was a busy Saturday evening before the Christmas holiday. The hors devours we're delicious and the meal was excellent and we enjoyed the martinis and dessert! I highly recommend this restaurant!

I wanted so much to love this place. We went in at about 5:30 and were greeted promptly. She told us we could take a seat whatever we liked and our server would be right over. That same server brought us water and told us Veronica would be our waitress. I get it, everyone has off nights and perhaps she was upset or mad or whatever else but the service was just awful. Our waitress was flat out rude and looked bothered that we were there, sitting in her section. When explaining the special she rattled off something about surf and turf and that was about all the information we got on the dish. She took our drink order and returned a few minutes later with them asking if we were ready. She didn't ask if we had questions about the menu or if we had been there before. The food however was fantastic, the pork chops were cooked to perfection and the soft shell crab roll was excellent. Would love to say we will be back but we won't. To anyone else, do yourself a favor and make sure your not in this waitresses section. 3 stars purely for the food.

Moro has a great approach to the dining experience. The menu is limited, yet everything we had was delicious. The price was excellent!

The food was delicious and well presented. Our waiter was ok, but seemed distracted and service was ok because he had support staff. Overall, I was happy and will return.

I wanted to like this place more. You can make reservations, which is nice. The front desk person was pretty abrupt and walked away and never asked if we wanted to see a drink menu. Our waitress was good, but just so busy that we waited a long time for most things.. drinks, ordering dinner, etc. Mussels were good, we got the curry mussels and would recommend. The main dish was decent, but not many sides so kind of left us wanting more. Overall, it was fine, but nothing to write home about.

Had a wonderful dinner and terrific service . Can't say enough about how relaxing the atmosphere is and how attentive the staff is. We decided to go mid-week and enjoyed every morsel of our appetizer, entrée and dessert.

Great experience! Easy to reserve, Great service, generous portions of fine well presented cuisine ... great salads, fall off you fork tender beef ribs over whipped mashed potatoes and deliciously balanced demonize, and Oishi sushi!!! Going back again and again! Feels like home. Looking forward to bringing my whole family here someday.

I couldn't wait to go here because they have the best drinks and food and I just noticed I have no drink pic. I drank it so fast I forgot! Sorrry.... Next time. Anyway, I had a cosmo which is nothing unusual , so why is is so good here? Maybe because it's so cold? Top shelf ingredients ? Well it's a setup for a great dinner whatever the reason. The food is always wonderful and fresh and served beautifully ( if that's your thing). I tend to have seafood here because I know it's always fresh and looks so pretty( I guess it's my thing). Save room for French pressed coffee and dessert ! I had these tasty madelines which are a memory from my childhood of lemony sweetness and of course there's fresh berries, again making it such an inviting dessert that can be easily shared. For the area, Moros is on the pricier side and portions are small for big appetites but everything is top notch so I think it's worth every penny.

Ordinarily, I love this place...However I ordered a burger for take out the other night ($18, mind you) it was completely charred, tasted like charcoal grill and the bun also charred. What a disappointment. Do better, your a top notch place here. For the money should be a no-brainer ‍

I've been wanting to come here for a long time. Finally decided to make reservations and took an early seating at 5:45 on a Saturday. Staff were friendly and always checked up on us throughout our dining session. Ordered a tequila cocktail and a mai tai. Unfortunately, I thought both were a little weak on the alcohol side however tasted good. The complimentary bread that was provided was one of the best breads I've had. We ordered the bacon and mushroom muscles with frittes, baked oysters, and the cheese plate for appetizers. All the appetizers were fantastic. The fries provided where enough to feed six people! Muscles came with a seafood cream broth and were one of the highlights of the meal! Really can't go wrong with any of their appetizers. For mains we ordered half portions of the fried chicken and lamb chops. Both were excellent! I would recommend ordering half portions, as we were quite full after apps, bread, and mains. That didn't stop us from ordering dessert, as we've heard the chef started as a pastry chef. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding and the banana tart. Best bread pudding pudding I've had hands down and the tart was a refreshing end to a fantastic meal. This place gets pretty loud when the dining room is full which happened at around 7:30 so make a early reservation if you want a more intimate setting. Our entire meal lasted around two and a half hours. Highly recommend moro's table and will be sure to check out moro's kitchen in Skaneateles soon!

The wait staff was very nice and attentive. I chose the special Sea Bass and it was delicious and cooked real well. However, it was a very small 3 square inch piece of fish. It was the most expensive item on the menu and I would have thought they would have provided a regular portion. I gave them only 3 stars because I left hungry. I was very disappointed on how small a portion they served. If they were running out of it tell me and I would have ordered some thing else. They did everything else right but failed on the main event.

Quality has dropped significantly since COVID. Portions are small and the food is just ok. Very overpriced for what you get. Unfortunately not what is used to be.

Had a dinner date night here with my girlfriend on 4/15. Service was stellar. I started with a raspberry lemonade and my girlfriend had the watermelon sugar high. Both drinks were flavorful and hit the spot for a good cocktail to start off with. Girlfriend got the house salad which is huge and coukd actually feed 2 people. The ginger-miso dressing was very good. I had the grilled sirloin and fries. The sauce was very delicious and the sirloin cooked exactly how I wanted. The girlfriend had chicken riggies for the first time. She said it was very good, just a little too spicy for her (she is not big on spicy) overall a great experience and will definitely come back

Made a reservation for 4 on a Saturday. We arrived early and the restaurant was not busy. We were told to wait at the bar while they got it ready. Somehow they ended up getting our reservation wrong. Kinda odd but we went with it. The ambiance of the place is clean. You can get street parking or else park in the back. Attire is casual. Onto the food. My friends ordered the mushroom soup- very flavorful. I got the shrimp and crab cakes and beet salad. Everything was fresh and light. Flavor combinations were great. I ordered the lobster/cod bouillabaisse. Wow. What an amazing dish. It had layers of flavors that were great. Probably one of the better dishes I've had in a long time. My friends got the salmon, braised beef rib and another got the special- 'tenderloin'. It's great that you can order the small or large plates so you don't feel like you're over eating or else if you want to get appetizers/dessert you don't feel so guilty. The meal here was awesome. I will definitely be coming back.

I was looking forward to dining here as my friend had highly recommended it. The server: Handed us our menus, took our drink order, but before going to get them told us we would have to order everything at one time because they were busy that night. I have had restaurants tell me when they would need the table when I made a reservation. I have had restaurants tell me that when I arrived. I never had it announced to me in such a fashion. Just rude. No "I'm sorry but..." Just a statement of fact. When we did order, we asked about desserts and she said there was no need to order them ahead of the meal. Okay..... Got it? Not really. Were there cancellations? What happened to the rush? Anyway, before she went for our drinks, we asked for water. This became a habit, but did arrive shortly after our appetizers arrived. Tables with other servers had filled water glasses before the guests even arrived. I ordered the shrimp tempura as an appetizer. That is not what I was served. After getting her attention (she really didn't want us to get her attention and managed to keep her back to us much of the time), I pointed out it was sushi. She said it was supposed to be sushi. I pointed out it was on the left of the menu, not on the right where the column said Sushi. She claimed that nonetheless I had gotten just what I ordered. I probably got the Tempura Scallop Roll or perhaps the Dragon Roll. But I did not misspeak when I ordered. I said Shrimp followed by Tempura. Shrimp Tempura. Other than that, our dinners were quite good, not great, but I understand why people rate it so highly. I would certainly go there again except for the service. I wish I knew her name so that people reading this would know to avoid her. She asked about dessert. We declined. I wanted out of there. We asked for the check. Somehow, this really rushed restaurant and server was in no hurry to give us our check. Once she did she was in no hurry to take the card even though my friend immediately put his card in the holder without looking at the check and handed it to her. She walked away. Finally she came back to pick it up. Her attitude the entire time was rude. She stood at the bar a lot rather than seeing to us. She said all the right words, when she did speak, but as insincerely as possible. It was like she was reading off one of those scripts that customer service representatives use when on a call or chat. When we left we asked ourselves if we had dressed poorly, if we smelled bad or what could have caused her to treat us so cavalierly. (And we were dressed on a par with other guests and absolutely did not smell bad.) She would be more suited for a diner were it not for the fact that servers at diners are usually friendly, provide quick service and seem to be pleased you are there.

I took my wife to Moro's Table for Mother's day brunch. Being familiar with Moro's Kitchen we had high expectations that it would be creative and delicious, we were greatly disappointed. One would think that for $36.00 per head, it would be a cut above Golden Corral. It was but only in the preparation of the food, certainly not in the selection. We were very disappointed and felt we had been ripped off after driving an hour to get there. It is questionable if we will return !

I wish I could tell you how the food was but after 90 minutes of waiting with nothing more than water and bread our party of 4 with a 630 reservation simply got up and left. The hostess was incredibly inefficient and the waitresses were not much better. Took 10 minutes to be seated, 20 minutes to get water and order taken, and 60 minutes with maybe 2 contacts with any staff. Mind you, we did ask the hostess ... who asked the waitress ... who said they would check and 10 minutes later of nothing they lost over a hundred dollar table.

This place is my favorite restaurant. Drive fRom Rochester on my birthday and it did not disappoint. Baked oysters. Shrimp tempura sushi , spinach salad all shared and beyond expectations. I had the duck. My wife had the sole. Service was great. We love thIs place!!!

Bartender rude. Restaurant empty on a Thursday night. Mussels taste like they were old or like they were a day past prime... with prime prices.. Owner takes no personal responsibility and defaults to bartender. This WAS a good place that I loved in the past but I would suggest you by pass for other local gems like... Prison City, Osteria Salina or Mesa Grande... all have quallity food good with friendly staff and you will not have to mortgage your house... $102 for 6 mediocre drinks and borderline fresh mussels... shame on you Moro's!!

Shrimp and crab cakes were light and perfectly crisp. A unique slaw and delicious aioli rounded out the plate. My wife enjoyed the red curry mussels, was slightly disappointed that there wasn't a little more spice to the broth, though. Farmers market salad was a little bigger than a side salad, would have loved a bit more on the plate because it was a delicious combination of local, seasonal favorites. Beef rib entree was very good. One element on the plate needed a kick of salt, though. Between the carrots, mashed potatoes, and sauce, there was no distinct stand out because they were all seasoned a bit too tamely. Would have been easily remedied on our end if there was salt on the table. Banana tart w chocolate Gelato was very good. We decided that next time we come we are just going to ask for a sampler plate of their Gelatos... the chocolate was amazing.

We happened here by strange circumstance after one of our favorite places to get raw oysters was out for the evening! Thankfully they had some on special for the evening. The oysters: delicious but most of them lacked the liquor that I LOVE. They were from st simons island in Canada. The chicken liver crostini: omg!! Some of the best liver I've had and I grew up on homemade chopped liver! I'd come back just for that since you almost never see it! The smoked bacon and mushroom mussels: the muscles were a little over cooked but I can overlook that because the broth was to die for!! I could drink it, it was so good!! There wasn't enough bread on the table to satisfy how much I wanted more of the broth! The service: we had to wait a little bit for a table, it's a smaller place. The waitress we got was very nice and friendly. I'd give her a 5/5 Overall it was a good experience and we'll definitely come back very soon!!

Love this place; great vibe, great service and great food. Definitely will return. Food is appealing, fresh and served with flair. Get there early as the place fills up. Who knew a restaurant this good would be located in downtown Auburn?
