Why has it taken me so long to come here?! I used to drive past this place every day with the mural of a yogini, mid-chaturanga, but have never stepped in until this past week, courtesy of ClassPass.
I rolled my tired body out of bed to make it in for the 7am Gravity workout - I parked in the wrong lot and walked around the front, but thankfully Roberto stuck his head out one of the doors and helped me find my way to the right lot (right turn past the yogini and around to the upside down butterfly) and the proper entrance. The studio is deceptively large and comfortable. There are three major spaces that I noticed, including a rock climbing cave - that's for next time, and I can't wait!
Now for Gravity - there were 5 of us in the class, and we all had plenty of space to glare at our reflections as we chucked 10 lb balls at our feet. We started out with a bit of basic cardio before sitting onto the machines, which I had never used before but Roberto was fantastic in coming around to check on each of us and helping us adjust as needed. The variety in the workout was welcomed, in my opinion, going from standing, to sitting, laying, squatting, etc. Routine is awful for me - if I can predict what's next, I'm going to mentally start making excuses for myself. During Gravity, I was happy to go with the flow and the instructor moved us quickly from one sequence to the next, and before I knew it, it was 8am and I was almost sad that my first Morphe workout was over! Not so sad because we ended on abs and I needed to lay down after that.
I truly enjoyed my workout, and while I wasn't as sweaty as I would get in, say, a boxing class, it was on par with an unheated yoga class for me. Roberto was encouraging, motivating, and he demonstrated every movement, and was quick to fix our form if we weren't working the correct muscle group. If this is was semi-private fitness is like, I'm hooked for life.
