Morskie Oko

Great 12 mike hike! Good incline with stair detours. Beautiful lake at the top. Only cons is that it is crowded at the lake and souvenir shop

Morskie Oko is the most beautiful lake in the Polish Tatras and in 2014 The Wall Street Journal recognized it as one of the five most beautiful lakes in the world. Distance from Palenica Białczańskiego car parking to Morskie Oko Lake is 9 km. One option is to either walk on the asphalt road which takes around 3 hrs or another one is a horse-drawn carriage till Włosienica from where Morkie Oko is 1.5 km. There are few spots in between for refreshments and toilets. In peak summer months it is crowded but still worth the visit.

It's a good place to visit. Stunning views, lots of toilets and clean water sources all on the way. You have a pub and cafe on the top and in a few places by the road. All the way takes about 2.5 hours if you take breaks. Even kids are going. I've gotten a little bit upset by the amount of people going on top. Probably I was there in the middle of the season, at the peak time. You cannot launch a drone here, because it's a national park. Swimming and walking out of the path is forbidden, which kills all the adventure vibe. A lot of people are going here from all around the world, but if you want a meditative place and solitude with nature, it's definitely not for you. The road is easy and suitable for anyone at any age. You also can take a horse ride for 100PLN up to the top to get there faster. Views are stunning!

Overcrowded (near 500 or maybe more people in business day) You will spend approximately one or two hours just waiting in the line The lake is okay, but honest recommendation - search another locations (I‘m sure that you definitely find something else and much better not far away from Krakow or in the Tatry area)

The trek up was challenging but it is so worth going. Be careful not to visit when crowded as it will be difficult to get the horse carriages and you would waste a lot of time waiting. Try to get there early if you want to trek up and down.

Really a beautiful lake, it is the second time I go there. The water is transparent. I think it would be nice to build a pier or let people swim from time to time.

A great spot. Truly, it was amazing to see the lake and walk around it. Anyone in the area should visit! Pro tip: come early, before all the tourists arrive(there’s always a lot of people here.)
