Wow! We tried Morty’s tonight and we were blown away. From the second we walked in, we could tell this place was special. From the cozy aesthetic, to the warm staff who were so knowledgeable and kind, to the 10/10 food and fun cocktails, everything just kept getting better. We got the bird gang, the Italian, and the roast beef sandwich and we were in heaven. The focaccia is so flavorful and soft. We got 3 sandwiches and we left feeling great because the ingredients are so fresh and the focaccia is to die for. We had such a good experience and can’t wait to come back! Our new favorite sandwich shop in Richmond!

From the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed with genuine hospitality and promptly shown to seats at the bar. Our bartender set the tone right away—water appeared instantly, followed by some of the friendliest service we’ve had in a while. We shared a Caesar salad, the chicky gabagool sandwich, and a side of crispy potatoes, and every bite delivered. The flavors were well balanced, the portions generous, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. After eating, we took a leisurely lap around the market and were delighted by the sheer number of tempting options on display. First time. Great atmosphere. Music a bit loud at first but turned down or tuned out. The Italian sandwich and roast beef sandwich were amazing! Focaccia bread made in-house. Lots of flavors and all distinguishable. Really yummy!

More than a sandwuch shop! Neighborhood market, friendly bar, amazing drinks, fabulous small plates, sandwiches, salads, and the best focaccia bread. Everything is made fresh and delicious! Service is fantastic as well. Wish I lived in the neighborhood so I could call it my "Cheers".

Love this new spot in Northside. Nick is awesome. Really took care of us. The Alpine Spritz is amazing. The bear bianco sandwich is excellent with the perfectly toasted focaccia bread daily made. Roast beef was extremely tender and fresh. Well executed sandwiches even better staff and customer service!

Morty's is exactly the kind of spot every neighborhood dreams of having. It's a focacceria (!!!), a cool little market, and a bar all rolled into one, with a vibe that's inspired by rustic Italy and Central Europe. It just feels welcoming the second you walk in. We dove right into the menu and were blown away. Here's the rundown of what we ordered: *The Drinks: Gazdina Pear Brandy & Rally Car Driver. The brandy was a definite sipper and the rally car driver was a nice all around cocktail. *The Apps: We tried the Chicken Paprikash, which is roasted chicken thigh in the red tomato based and creme fraiche. Very different yet delicious. * The Sandwiches: The house-made focaccia is the star here! So fresh and perfect. The Mostly Italian, and the Young Leek. Both were phenomenal, packed with adventurous and comforting flavors. You can tell a lot of thought goes into these combinations. * Caesar Salad: I'm not exaggerating when I say this was one of the best Caesar salads I have had in a very long time. The dressing was perfect, the croutons were crunchy... chef's kiss. Do not skip this! Beyond the amazing dine-in menu, I love that it's a multi-purpose space. You can grab a unique bottle of wine from the market, pick up some quality pantry goods, or just post up at the bar for a craft beer or a classic cocktail. The playlist curated a lovely vibe as well. Morty's is more than just a restaurant/ deli; it's a community hub. It's the perfect place to gather with friends or just stumble into a good conversation. I'll definitelv be back to work my way through the rest of the menu. Go check it out y’all!

Morty’s was such a delight! Service was great, staff was super helpful and friendly and all of the food was amazing! We had the Burrata, Fried Zucchini and the Chicky Gabagool!

Amazing! We went for drinks on a Saturday night + lunch the next day. Great service, staff if kind and fun, great music -- and of course the food and drinks were top notch. We will definitely be going back. Perfect local addition to brookland park, unique menu, and easy to dine in/take out/ try new wines.
