This is truly one of the most exceptional properties we have ever visited. |Dining: We were treat to a food revelation. The cuisine has focused on fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients This gourmet meal was superertly paired by the best wine per dish making it truly memorable experience. ||The excellent service from management to staff gives the resort it's warmth.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty and energy of this hotel—there truly is no place like it. The atmosphere is vibrant yet deeply calming, as if the walls themselves radiate warmth.||What makes this place truly extraordinary, however, are the people. From the invisible fairies working behind the scenes to the attentive and kind management, every single person we encountered was full of heart. Their care and attention to detail are evident in every corner of the hotel.||The food? Absolutely first-class—each meal was a delight, crafted with passion and creativity.||Our stay wasn’t just a getaway; it was a soulful experience. This is a place you don’t just visit—you feel it. Deeply.

50 kms of unmarked gravel roads to access but there is a natural beauty in its remoteness. So nice to see the Fynbos and be looked after by the Morukuru Team. You are spoilt rotten and where else do they ring through and have a fire roaring in your suite on arrival! Truly magical

We stayed at Morukuru Beach Lodge as part of our honeymoon in December 2024, and it was hands down one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. It’s not just the design of the place itself, but the overall environment and atmosphere that allows for the ultimate relaxation. Food - excellent Housekeeping - awesome, especially the small touches for the turn down services! Guides - we loved the daily activities, especially the morning marine walk and sand boarding. Thank you Hilton for taking such good care of us, and to the rest of the team also!

A huge thank you to Susie Freeman Travel for organising such a wonderful long weekend in the Beach Lodge at Morukuru. What a setting with the huge and beautifully furnished room overlooking the fynbos, sea and dunes - with the occasional eland strolling by. All the organised activities were great fun and included sandboarding, sunrise walks, marine trails and a nature drive. Jaco, our guide, was so very knowledgeable and with him we saw rockpool life including octopus, starfish, and urchins; on the dune paths there were fascinating insects, plant and bird life to be seen as well as caracal and honey badger spoor; and on the nature drive there were more eland, bontebok, ostriches, zebra and even a young fish eagle! ||The wild, undisturbed beaches of the De Hoop Nature Reserve are truly spectacular so it was sad to see that human plastic pollution is being washed into the marine reserve in places. We therefore organised our own mini clean-up which certainly provided the additional 'feelgood' factor in an effort to protect our marine life.||Last but by no means least, the Lodge staff are warm, friendly and efficient and really made sure that our needs were met in a quiet discreet way. The meals were all beautifully presented, crafted, and delicious too. Thank you to the Morokuru family for the fantastic experience and for making unforgettable and long lasting memories.||

Amazing house, one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. Pristine beaches, whales, trails, kind staff and incredible food.

Wow! What an incredible location and experience. The rich fynbos contained within the reserve is lush and beautiful. Please do a nature walk to learn more. The marine life in the tidal pools is also vibrant. It’s like an aquarium full of all sorts of sea creatures. Our guide for our stay was Hilton. He’s an expert in the local marine life and fynbos. The hotel grounds were chic and designed with thought and care. The rooms were large and comfortable. The food was great! We got to know much of the staff during our stay, they work so hard to make your stay enjoyable. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Stayed at Morakuru for 3 nights. Most beautiful accommodation. Someone reviewed this lodge and said there was only a hand shower which is nonsense. There is an amazing rain shower as well as a great hand shower and the shower itself is exquisite with light coming in from the sky. We so enjoyed watching the behaviours of whales and baby whales from the large glass windows in one’s own suite. At times I could see 3 different whales in my binoculars. The food is good but quite creamy although that might be to some people’s taste. A big plus is that one can have lunch at Bites café just a few minutes walk away, as it is owned by Morakuru. The carrot cake is exceptional!|The rockpool marine activity is fascinating and we were so excited when our guide found an octopus. We were also impressed with our gentle guide, Hilton’s, knowledge of the flora when we did the Fynbos walk. He also is extremely knowledgeable about the traditional medicinal/healing powers of the flora.
