The Best City in the US for Shopping Is Exactly the One You Think It Is | Condé Nast Traveler

"Sitting on Orchard Street on the Lower East Side, this fifth-generation eyewear shop offers its signature frames in a setting that reflects a more idiosyncratic New York, pairing deep heritage with a low-key neighborhood vibe." - Paul Jebara

I can only give them three stars. The staff is nice, the frames are good. But their lenses suck. They used to be top-notch, but in the past few years they have expanded globally and have become just another chain. They did not switch to making their own lenses to improve quality. They gave me a refund, so I can’t complain too much, but now I have to find some other place to get new glasses.

I wanted to change lenses for my clips. The shop only available for that is really too from where I initially bought the clips. And when I finally reach the place, I was treated with pure respect. The person was almost rude! It my second and finale purchase from moscot. Really a pity.

I ordered six sunglasses but only received five. I have been contacting customer service rep Krista for a week, and every day they tell me they will “let me know,” yet no solution has been provided. The follow-up has been slow and unhelpful, and the service feels very low quality. The sunglasses themselves are fine, but the experience dealing with the company has been disappointing.

Update 03/23/24 - BE CAREFUL! WHAT DO YOU THINK ? I brought the glasses back to the store. The manager was nice enough to exchange the frame and provide a warranty on my old glasses frame too. But there is one issue, I probably got punished for being a difficult customer, or it is just a pure unprofessional innocent mistake. While there is no way to install the lens wrongly, I have a Zolman (photo #2), and the lens is perfectly round. If someone is professional should know, the lens was crafted with the viewable side usually thinner and should be installed so that it is fed with the top of the frame, while the bottom of the lens, which is thicker, should be at the bottom. I wore my glasses for a week and felt so dizzy, and saw everything distorted. I was like, ‘What is going on?’ Tonight I found out my lens was installed incorrectly. Well, I don’t have proof of the intention. I’ll let you judge. But to be honest, whether the reason was to mess someone’s eyes up for whatever reason, it is unethical and inhuman. If they say they are experienced since 1915, this mistake shouldn’t happen! Or may be something is too old and need to replaced 🤔? Help me out here guy! Please share the post to raise awareness. Thank you for reading. I just received my $600+ glasses. For the price, I expected to have flawless, shiny glasses without scratches. they may win Warby Parker on quality, However, the SERVICE of this one is the 1000 worse than Warby Parker, I think Warby does a much better delivery/execution job. My last glasses from this store were sent in for a lens warranty, and they returned the glasses completely scratched. They polished them badly, losing the manufacturer’s liquid shine of the glasses and leaving me with a matte, scratched look, and I didn’t even ask for them to be polished! I was speak less when I see they stored my glasses in a nylon bag; I saw it when they returned it. Do they know that nylon can damage the shine of glasses if the glasses move inside and get rubbed by the nylon? Sad and disappointment are the two words I have for Moscot.. Cross this brand and store off your list, guys.

We recently visited this Moscot store and were looked after by Steven as soon as we stepped in. He was attentive and thorough and helped me through my first purchase of Moscot sunglasses. Recommend!

I’ve always been a big fan of Moscot, but after a bad experience at Warby Parker, I’m reminded even more how great they are. Their team is kind and helpful. Shopping here is always a pleasant experience. They’ll adjust glasses for you even if you don’t have a sales receipt and it’s from years earlier.

Absolutely thrilled with my recent visit to Moscot during our trip to NYC! Marilyn was incredibly friendly and helpful, and their selection of premium (and gorgeous) frames was amazing. I found the perfect pair of glasses that complements my face, and Marilyn was very knowledgeable and patient in answering all my questions. I didn't have my prescription on hand, so I called her when we arrived home to order the eyeglasses. She was really friendly and efficient, and we had the order finished in no time. Can't wait to receive my new glasses in the mail! I very highly recommend this store to anyone in need of eyewear.
