Most Hostel

This is a nice hostel in the center of Ljubljana, close to all the main attractions. Private rooms are available here, and we stayed in one of them (V3). The room had everything we needed, including a private shower (with unlimited hot water - shock in Slovenia) and even a kettle (something not always available even in higher-end hotels). The room also offered a wonderful view of the river and the historic center. The staff was pleasant and allowed us to check in an hour early (really thanks them). The administration also offers additional services, such as bicycle rental at a reasonable price. Overall, we were happy with the room; it had everything we needed, and it was quite clean and cozy. The downsides are that the room wasn't exactly new, it's a bit dirty (the air conditioner could use a cleaning), and it was quite small. But they say everywhere that everything is being renovated, which is a good thing for future visits. I don't feel like listing too many downsides (there are some downsides, of course, the place isn't ideal), as for the price, this hostel is a great, budget-friendly alternative to a hotel.

The only real obligation of a hostel is to let you sleep comfortably for one night, and this one fails miserably. The room and bathroom were completely moldy. The room has only one tiny window, which is nowhere near enough for ventilation, so the room stays constantly damp. When closed, the window even gets wet on the inside, and the smell of mold is permanent and unbearable. The bed linen was already damp when I arrived, and to make things worse, guests are asked to strip the bed themselves at checkout. The bathroom was covered in mold, and some reception staff were rude. For the price they charge, this place is a complete rip-off. Stay away.

Unfortunately, I do not think the quality of my stay warrants the price that this hostel charges for a bed. There are some great features of this hostel: the WiFi is good, the lockers are big and the location is great (but when it comes to Ljubljana, is there ever a place that far from city center?) However, my experience was lacking for what I paid. The room we stayed in was cramped and only had one small window. It was not cozy at all. One of our beds did not have a functioning power outlet, which was very annoying. The hostel does not assign you a bed, and the employees accidentally cleared one of our beds once (even though it had stuff on it), which meant my companion had to switch to a different bed, which was annoying. The bathroom was the worst offender. The door lock was almost broken and made an awful noise everytime it was used. The shower did not have a hook to put the shower head on, which meant the shower head just dangled in the air. During our three day stay, the bathroom was never cleaned. The hostel has an early check-out time, 10 AM, I do not see, given the limited service, why this needs to be so early. The hostel also expects of you to bring them the linen you used down the street to their reception. Why is this a responsibility of the guests? Also, there is no 24h reception. If this hostel asked about two thirds of what it was currently asking, the ultimately okay experience I had would fit the price more. As of now, I have to rate it two stars.

I never ever post. Unless the place has a terrible flaw. For the rooms... you get what you pay for. It is fine that the room and main check-in are in seperate buildings. You would have to walk in one place and into another to get questions answered. 1) I was shown to my bunk bed. It was there where I was told that I could pay a refundable deposit for a locker key. (Would have been great to be told when I checked in... instead of walking back and forth. But ok.) 2) I went to the male receptionist and asked for a locker key. He asked me which locker, and he informed me that he didn't know which one I wanted. (Red flag). Walked back and forth to check the locker numbers close to my bunk. I went back and informed him I wanted locker 4. Paid and got the key. Went out to eat and explore with the key. 3) Came back to chill at the main office. The male receptionist answered all of my questions professionally. 4) I go into the room and find that someone else's belongings are in locker 4. The locker key I put in a deposit for (I am confused.) 5) I went back to the receptionist, and he told me that I owned the locker and I could take the stuff out. (I am a guest, and I do not want to fight with other guests.) He says that we are all guests and implied that I had the right to take the stuff out (without their permission)... or that I could get another locker. I then asked what am I to do if the locker is full... he said to go back to him for another key. I tell him that I do not want to go back and forth figuring out which locker was empty and free. The hostel should know. He then got frustrated at me and told me that he was not going to go and work this issue out. I got my key deposit back, stormed out, and said I should not be dealing with the locker issue and that he should do his job. This whole issue could have been avoided if they had a system in place where beds were assigned to lockers and people had to pay a deposit for the key. Not this back and forth stuff of two buildings. Then, to tell guests to move each other's things without their permission is just ridiculous. Do they want guests to fight with one another? That is one sure way to make staying here really uneasy. I then sat down to eat in the room... and there is that sign. A hostel should reinforce their own rules. Especially if they are going to passively aggressively post the reviews and responses within the hostel rooms. This all happened on July 26th, 2025 I decided to post this after my stay as I am weary of how the hostel manages things. In case they decide to touch and move my stuff without my permission.

Hostel located in wonderful location, just one step to walk river side with beautiful view. Room is OK, 3 *, not more. Bed is OK, but toilet isn't clean, the floor wait for repairing. Check in/check out is pretty easy and people so helpful.

Very rude staff, problematic dormitory (flooded bathroom and literally doors would not open). Location is good.

Stayed for one night, good communication before check in, late self check is possible when arriving late at night, near to the sights, 10 minutes walk from the bus station. On arrival the receptionist was friendly and helpful, nice common area and outside by the canal. bed was comfortable and clean, large fridge inside the dorm, side table and plug for the phone, 2 bathrooms inside the shared dorm, strong wifi, good for meeting other travellers. Is hard to sleep as people stay up until late talking, no privacy curtains, bed moves when other guest sleep above you, air con was not good enough, was sweating all night.

Successfully organisation. Brilliant location. Friendly atmosphere. I'll visit again. Thank you.
