20 Best Ramen Restaurants in Tokyo

"You never know what eclectic ingredients you might see scattered around this cozy ramen shop, which caters to a host of businessmen-regulars who often spend their whole lunch breaks waiting for noodles in the (admittedly lengthy) line." - Brian MacDuckston

God-tier ramen. If you love ramen, this is a must try. Every element is executed at an exceptional level—next-tier, no exaggeration. The soup, noodles, oil, tare, proteins, and wontons are all carefully thought out and perfectly designed to work together in one bowl. I ordered the shio soup with both types of noodles, and both were superb. I finished every last drop, and the flavor still lingered long after. Everyone I came with had the exact same reaction. We left the shop in awe—almost stunned—like we had just experienced a completely new flavor profile we’d never had before. For me, this redefines what “great ramen” means. Like I said—god-tier.

Fabulous salted ramen, the soup, the meat, the veggies & of course the ramen were delicious - flavorful, soft, great texture - sooo good! The tomato was an explosion in my mouth, I felt like being in Italy for a couple of seconds. The long waiting time (almost 60 minutes to get inside) was forgotten after one sip of the ramen <3

Best ramen in town, you don't always have choice of different options at this restaurant. Only one ramen was available when I went. But you can be sure what you will get will be the best ramen you'll eat. The sake option is 1lways thoughtful as well and the prices are reasonable for this quality

A bit waiting required, but it went by smoothly! One thing that stood out was the freshness of the ingredients. The ramen looked like they were made to order! The Shio ramen flavor here is very clean and modest. Not oily at all, and the roasted Tomato on the Special Salt Ramen was amazing! For those wishing for a stronger taste, I would recommend the Shoyu ramen- I'm sure they're both great!

This place takes its ramen seriously, both in flavor and in its setup and decor. I really enjoyed it! I arrived at this ramen spot at 11 AM, and there was already a line. Once it was my turn, I used the vending machine to place my order (I got the special ramen and shumai) and waited in the back until a counter seat was available. The special ramen included a variety of chashu, including duck breast, which was delicious!

A friend highly recommended this place, and we just had to try it! We ordered the special soy and special salt ramen, and they were both absolutely delicious. Watching the chef and server work was mesmerizing—they had such an organized and precise flow. The server even measured the distance between chairs while cleaning, and the chef poured hot water over the bowls to keep the ramen hot longer. It was a rainy day, and we waited about 30 minutes, but it was well worth it. We enjoyed every moment, including watching the team in action. You get to choose between thin or thick, chewy noodles. If you want to try both, be sure to order extra noodles ahead of time! The meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. It's easy to see why so many locals enjoy their ramen here, even dining alone. A big thank you to the amazing chef and professional server who guided us through the best way to enjoy their ramen. Another must-try item is the shu mai—highly recommended!

This is one of my top 3 go to place for ramen in Tokyo. It is located around the Akihabara area. This is my usual side trip when I am done electronics shopping at the Yodobashi mega store. The ramen style is clear and light. There will often be a line to get in, but it does move fast.

This was the first ramen I’ve had in Tokyo and after 3 weeks in can guarantee that this is the best. The broth flavour was so good i will remember it for the rest of my life. Please accept the waiting time and order the salt ramen with the tomato in the middle. It was truly amazing. Also if you’re into Japanese knives Morihei is just around the corner.
