Very clean, comfortable and convenient stay. Good for those travelling on a budget, looking for a more affordable alternative to the expensive hotels in the Hakone area. The host was extremely kind and helpful.

Hi, I’ve written my review on Agoda but clicked submit review unintentionally before wrote my review. I stayed here a day, It was lovely accommodation with japanese style room. They have free tea, kettle, pajamas, air purifier (i guess). The room is so big for couple, all clean and warm. The host made sure that guests wouldn’t feel cold by providing carpet on whole floors, anw I went there in fall and from Indonesia so fall got me trembling. Host super kind and very resourceful, you can ask him any questions. The bus stop in front of the hotel too. Wanna thank the host in this review too, hope he see it.

We walked for 2 hours at night because we got turned around. We missed the 9pm check in cut off but the manager still got out of his room just to check us in at 9:15 and he didn't turn is away. The manager is excellent. He's extremely nice and even offered us an extra night stay. Plenty of meals offered but you should order it a day in advance if you want breakfast in the morning. Cheap o'sake- Special 300yen price in the dining room. It's very fun. So please enjoy the yukata. The private bath house was nice to use at night. The toilet on the right had a broken seat that pinched. So try the one on the left. It's a great traditional Japanese style tatami room with free matcha and plenty of hot water to use in your room. TV. It's great and I had a good time. Comfy futons. <3 the doors are hard to tell if they are locked and they spring open loudly when they unlock. Less than 10 minute walk to lake Ashi, the park and the Shrine next to the park. Take the one way trip on the lake Ashi cruise to get to the Hakone Ropeway (you will walk back about a half hour) Altogether a wonderful stay at the Moto-Hakone Guest House.😘😍

It’s an older house but the room is comfortable and everywhere was clean. The family who hosts the guesthouse are super friendly and went out of their way to make us comfortable. They will provide dinner, breakfast & drinks all at reasonable prices. The location is good, a 10min wall from Lake Ashi, but the road is narrow and hazardous and the path is steep and rocky, I wouldn’t take it at night.
