At the foot of a hill is this nice hotel. It is walking distance from the Village center with all the restaurants, bars and shops. Hiking paths start opposite of the Moulin. The rooms are fine, the friendliness of the staff is great, and the quality of the breakfast ingredients is also great.

Lovely clean, bright, modern hotel set in a beautiful old mill. Our French is practically non-existent and we got by just fine. Beautiful setting. Short enjoyable walk into town. Lovely restaurant on site. Very nice breakfast spread. Plenty of free parking. Biker friendly. All round good value.

Beautifully renovated mill with just 8 rooms in a quiet valley about 1 km easy walking distance to the bustling market town, but dark in the evening with no street lights. Direct access to a number of well-signposted walks in the nearby hills.||||We stayed for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year when the restaurant was open - not usually the case mid-week. Room 8 on the top floor had lots of space but not suitable for the unfit - 45 steep steps from reception with no lift! Under the eaves so very low ceiling in places. Very limited service at reception - needed to have key to gain access even during daytime. A good knowledge of French helped. Attractive restaurant on ground floor and cosy breakfast room on 1st floor - both with open fires. Good service at dinner with typical Ardenne fare, prices comparable to those on offer in town. Good breakfast. ||||Very restricted internet/WiFi reception - only on ground floor by reception and not in guest rooms. Surprising that there were no tea-making facilities or a fridge in the room given that there was no room service or bar except when restaurant was open in the evening.

The rooms are quite large and well appointed. The staff are friendly and attentive although their English is not good so you need to be understanding if your French is limited. The food in the restaurant was exceptional but be warned the restaurant is not always open. It is only a short walk into the town square where you will be split for choice.

Stayed here for a hiking weekend in the Ardennes. Very conveniently located walking distance from La Roche with plenty of parking space and in a quiet spot. Rooms clean and functional. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast and good restaurant downstairs - popular so make sure you book on Saturday night.

Good clean hotel. Met our expectation. The restaurant was also very good. Easyily a ccessible by fott from the centre of La Roche-en-Famenne. Only negative is the hotel breakfast hours: 8:30 - 9:30. Too early for weekend relaxation.

Back in March of 2018 I booked this hotel after we had visited it a few years before and found it to be a great hotel at that time. When I booked I clearly stated we were 7 to 8 people and wanted 2 twin and a treble room which was agreed and we would stay the nights of 28/29/30 of June . To my amazement when I emailed today to do a final check before we travel on Thursday I was told we only had 2 nights booked ! On checking earlier emails from the hotel a mistake had been made which I hadn’t noticed. When I said he was mistaken I was told no and so I asked if he knew of any where local who could accommodate us on Saturday and we would still take the 2 nights that were agreed. I was then told no and in fact he was now going to cancel those days also!! ||So now 2 days before myself and 6 friends head to Belgium for what was to be a nice holiday I’m now left with a massive problem. ||So if you are thinking of booking here think again as Philipe is not to be trusted or at least pay a deposit so as he has a contract and taken money on it as clearly his word has no value.||I don’t leave bad reviews but this guy has seriously messed up our holiday and seems to think its good practice for a hotel to do so .||Disgusting and totally unacceptable in my opinion

Rude beyond belief! It's no wonder that the hotel remains shut, even in mid-July, because the owner is a terrible rude and insulting man. The place is dark, dingy and feels mothballed - not somewhere you want to be unless there was no other choice. The owner is this very rigid bureaucratic type who shewed us out of his 'hotel'. Given the competition, I find it strange that this place still exists, let alone its presence in guidebooks. Very odd. If you want a surreal experience, have a look around their campsite. It's like a ghost town for trailers - quite eerie. Again, despite it being mid-July and other campsites in the area being quite full, the sites here were overgrown (but not in a nice way like a meadow). The permanent trailers appear to largely have been abandoned and look weathered and in a bad state of repair. The guidebook suggested that this is a nice site, along a river, but in reality it's a stream, and the sides of the valley have been shorn of their trees, giving it a lumber feel. If this was not enough, the entire place is situated a long way from the town itself. That might be okay if it were a nice walk along the valley, but it is basically decrepit industrial sites the entire way. Needless to say, as we were rudely shown the door, we did not stay. Unless you want to spoil your holiday, I recommend that you do not even visit this place.
