Airbnb Lists Moulin Rouge Windmill - AFAR
"For the first time ever, the iconic red windmill of a historic Parisian nightclub—which was originally built in 1889 and reconstructed about 30 years later after a fire—will be open to the public via a secret boudoir listed on Airbnb for three separate one-night stays (June 13, 20, and 27). Curated with historian Jean-Claude Yon to evoke the Belle Époque, the suite is decorated with art nouveau details such as a cast-iron bed, a miniature paper stage on the dresser, a dressing area stocked with vintage costumes, and period-appropriate garden furniture on a private rooftop terrace. The lead dancer Claudine Van Den Bergh hosts the stay, and guests receive tickets to her show Féerie, a meet-and-greet in her dressing room, onstage photos with the cast, a private backstage tour, aperitifs, a three-course rooftop dinner, and breakfast the next morning. The one-night stays are being listed at $1 per night, and the listing goes live on May 17 at 7 p.m. CEST (1 p.m. EDT) on Airbnb." - Lyndsey Matthews
