Fantastic pies. It is designed for take out but the owner is nice enough to let hungry travelers sample their purchases. We were too hungry so we ate half a pie there! Their blueberries are hand picked and crusts are homemade. Best strawberry rhubarb pie I have ever had, and could say the same of the blueberry pie.

My husband and I traveled to Bar Harbor Maine and we were on a mission to find the best blueberry pie in the area. Mount Desserts Pie Company had thousands of positive reviews, so we decided that's where we had to go. When you arrive, there is a handmade sign on the side of the highway for the shop and the driveway to pull in is a little tricky and takes a minute to figure it out. We pulled up right in front of the doors. Tip: turning right after you enter the driveway says "exit" only, so you have to pull straight ahead, even if it seems like you're not supposed to park there. We headed inside and were greeted by a friendly woman named Brit who had a ton of pie boxes ready to go! We got our blueberry pie and ate half of it in the car after we drove away. The pie was exactly what we wanted: fresh, local, great texture, and buttery crust. It was perfection! Another tip: it's cash or Venmo only and you can call ahead. $35 per pie. It's whole pies only, they don't sell by the slice.

We found this little homemade pie shop driving from Bar Harbor to Ellsworth and decided to buy a pie to try. They had blueberry, strawberry, rhubarb, and mixed berry pie with blueberry, strawberry and raspberry. The pies are $35 each which I think is a little bit on the high side, but that's what you get in a tourist area. We chose the mixed Mary. I thought it was delicious. The pie crust was flaky and golden brown. The filling did overflow a little bit and go behind the piecrust and made the pie crust stick to the tin so we could not get a lot of the pie crust off the bottom of the pan but otherwise the pie was perfect and very delicious. They have an adorable cat there that was friendly and we got to. I'm not sure about the rules for pets and establishment where you bake food, but he was a sweet little fellow and we enjoyed his company.

Amazing blueberry and strawberry rhubarb pies. The crust was exceptional no lard, only butter. The owner knows she’ll always get five stars.

We actually came here on two separate days to get pies. On the first day, we got a blueberry pie and it was delicious so we ended up coming back the next day to try more pies. We picked up a strawberry rhubarb pie and it was REALLY good. It was easily the best pie I ever ate in my life, but that's just me comparing it to the costco and other processed pies that I grew up eating. These pies are expensive, $35 each and cash/venmo only but they are insanely good. The place is also pretty easy to miss as you basically turn into a discrete driveway surrounded by trees.

We stopped by to buy a Maine blueberry pie and it was still warm from the oven! They also were offering a strawberry rhubarb and a mixed berry. We would have loved to get a second pie but they are $35 a pop and they dont sell slices. A must try for pie lovers though!

The owner was a very nice lady. I’m not the biggest pie eater so I was a little concerned at not being able to have a scoop of ice cream to help the pie go down, however no ice cream needed for this pie I even ate the crust. The pie was amazing we had the blueberry pie. Wish we could have tried the strawberry rhubarb pie as well.

Mmm... The aroma when you walk into the bakery is heavenly! The owner was a pleasure to talk with and it was clear the pies were homemade with love. The pies were still warm and she said they come out fresh throughout the day. We texted a few days ahead to place the order, which is definitely recommended. Not sure if they even have pies for walk in. They take credit or Venmo and they have WiFi available as well. The location is a quick turn off the road into an uphill drive. There are only a few spots to park your car but you are only meant to pick up your order and go.

Home made pie that's truly masterclass . Picked up a warm blueberry pie as our souvenir from Maine. Best pie crust I have ever had . It's firm yet crumbly to break in , over the top pie filling that was not gnawingly sweet . I devoured it warm on its own and with Vanilla ice cream . This is a must try spot if you are visiting Acadia . The owner and baker is very friendly and a good baker . She is a very passionate about her pies Strawberry and Rhubarb is supposed to bet her signature pie. The place is rustic , It's a parking garage converted to a storefront . Clean and airy space. They have tshirts mugs and few Balasam fir souvenirs . Taste it to believe it.

This blueberry pie is a life-changing experience disguised as dessert! The crust? Flaky, golden perfection -- it practically whispers, "I got you." The filling? Bursting with sweet, juicy blueberries that taste like they were picked by angels on their day off. One bite and I swear I heard a tiny jazz band start playing somewhere in the distance. It's the kind of pie that makes you question why you've wasted time eating any other dessert. 15/10. Warning: highly addictive and may cause you to "accidentally" eat the whole thing in one sitting.

Delicious little pie spot on the side of the highway. Was able to text to get a pie set aside and payment and pickup were easy and quick. We got the wild blueberry pie which was fruit filled and perfectly sweet and tart. Excited for them to have ice cream next season :)

We arrived shortly after closing without knowing and we were happily invited in! The woman working there was so kind in explaining everything to us about the pies. The blueberry pie was warm and delicious and had the best crust ever!! We really loved it there and the aroma was fantastic.

We were trying to find the best blueberry pie in Bar Harbor. We found Mount desserts through Google search and decided to buy a whole pie even though we were only looking for a couple of slices. It was a wonderful decision. We enjoyed a slice each that day, and then took it home with us on the flight. We thought it was even better the second day and very sadly just ate our last slices tonight. Wonderful experience.

I have to start by saying I don't even like blueberries but my Dad really wanted to try the blueberry pie. The baker said I might be surprised and boy was I! Absolutely phenomenal - in fact I'd say that might just be the best pie I've ever had!

A very small bakery (out of garage), very different from the website pictures; only 2 kinds of whole pies available for sale. very sweet and runny blueberry pie, obviously too much sugar; overall it is another over rated place in Bar harbor.

I ordered a blueberry pie from here that was fantastic. The crust was perfect, and the Maine blueberry filling was so good! Everyone loved it. I also picked up a slice of banana bread at the same time that was raved about as well. You will not be disappointed with anything from here.

So I was the good guy and informed Yelp that Mt. Desserts moved to a new address (now 2 Brookside Rd., Mt. Desert, 04660, 207-244-8710). Yelp administration changed the address, but also removed my "First to Review" review in the process, leaving me to add this one. But, the owner told me as I was picking up my pre-ordered two days in advance pies this morning that they are looking for a commercial space for next season, so I might be writing a third 5-Star review for Mount Desserts! These are the Pies of the Century in terms of quality. My family and I have never come across a better tasting pie loaded with massive amounts of fruits. The crusts are buttery and flaky. Last year, we purchased a Blueberry and a Mixed Berry (Strawberry, Blueberry, and Raspberry) @ $30 each. Thought the Blueberry would win out, but it was definitely the Mixed Berry that won the challenge. This year, knowing how great the pies are, went with two Mixed Berry @ $35 each. The owner explained her costs have risen considerably and therefore a small jump in prices this season. We won't be able to finish the two pies before vacation is over otherwise we'd put on even more pounds, so the leftovers are coming back to the land of Rocky Balboa, giving all other pies a knockout punch. We cannot wait to be back! $70 for two pies. Cash only! Lots of love mixed in with these pies! OMG!

Was looking for a slice of blueberry pie but bought a whole pie via Venmo for $35, from the garage of a house on the side of the main road. Told my family it was nice knowing them before I ate a slice. (Just in case) Pie was amazing and still warm - loved it. Definitely recommend stopping here but be advised it's not a storefront or cafe.

The bet blueberry pie i've had in a long time. I stumbled upon this place after visiting Acadia National Park today. The pie was still warm so we decided to eat it right away! Strongly recommend stopping by this gem if you are in Bar Harbor

This pie is incredible and so fresh. The crust is not like any I've ever had, it is buttery and delicious. Wouldn't have noticed the signs driving by - but found it when googling around best pies in the area

You can smell the amazing pie the minute you walk in. It smells like heaven and sugar and baking pastries. But wait, it gets better, the blueberry pie is the best pie I've ever tasted! The crust was perfect. The blueberries were delicious. The women running it were very nice. I was going to bring it back to New York with me but it didn't make it past Connecticut. 10/10-- No notes.

I got three blueberry pies for a family reunion and they were great. The shop is fun to visit and it's so nice to visit a real "mom and pop" store where they do a good job.

We saw this sign off of the highway near our cottage. Since blueberries are the popular fruit during the summer in Maine we decided to order the blueberry pie. This off the beaten path home was cute and had such lovely folks and animals. They let us wait on the porch while they got our pie ready. We took the pie back to the cottage and dug in. This is basically a pie shop run out of the owner's home. They also do light brunches but we just got some pies to take home. They're not cheap at $35 a pie but they're admittedly delicious. We got the Maine blueberry and mixed berry pies and thoroughly enjoyed both. They did also have strawberry rhubarb and you can call ahead and order certain pies but we just picked from what was available on hand. The blueberry is my personal favorite; not overly sweet and has a very deep rich taste with the perfect jammy consistency that's not too gelatinous or runny. The mixed berry pie adds strawberries and raspberries to the blueberries so is a little more tart but that makes it pair with vanilla ice cream very well. The crust is flaky and held up well sitting through a day of hiking over the week we ate them. If you're looking for a pie experience using locally sourced fruit, you can't go wrong giving this place a try.

Wow, best pie ever! And we both have some great pie makers in our lineages. We took the short scenic drive up and got the mixed berry pie. Absolutely the best! As others noted perfectly crumbly crust and the fruit shined through. Highly recommend picking up one when you visit our beautiful Acadia/Bar Harbor region

Cannot think of a better way to end a perfect fall day in Acadia than with Rose Eden Lobster meal followed by this masterpiece. Call ahead and line up that order! This is NOT the same establishment as the bar harbor bakery. Cash and checks.

Despite what Yelp and Google Reviews might say, Mount Dessert Pies is open! We took the detour to pick up a blueberry pie on Saturday late afternoon for dessert and are happy we did! Pie was fresh, lovingly homemade, and the perfect balance of (not too) sweet and savory - my husband kept asking for "just a small piece more"! Cash only and prices are a little more than advertised on the website ($35 vs. the $30 listed online), so come prepared!

OMG!!! It is always the question here on Mt Desert Island in the summer, who makes the best blueberry pie? I am not sure how we missed this place in previous summers, but this summer we discovered Mt Desert's pies, and we are never going back! There are many many blueberry pie options here, and lots of yummy pies, but we have found our favorite. The crust is not too thick, but is thick enough to contain the super generous and weighty filling. After all, we are eating it for that filling. It doesn't disappoint! Tons of blueberries, and not too much sugar so the blueberries are the stars. They do make other pies, and we bought a couple of the strawberry rhubarb pies this summer, and they were excellent as well.

We were visiting from out of town and really craving a Maine blueberry pie. We found Mount Desserts on Yelp and headed straight over. The owner was wonderful and gave us the options - we settled on an amazing sounding mixed berry pie that was still a little warm from the oven. So glad we did... it is quite possibly the best fruit pie we've ever had! The mix of fruit was perfect and the flavors were so deep - the crust was incredible. Perfect amount of sweetness and tanginess. I think we'll be getting another one to take on our way home. Absolutely delicious, highly recommended!!!

The Maine blueberry pie was delicious. We saw their sign as we were leaving the Bar Harbor area to drive to NH. They were very helpful on how I could freeze the pie while in NH and get it home to Ohio. My husband and I finished the last pieces and wished we had more. Definitely will remember them the next time we visit the area.

The best blueberry pie on Mount Dessert Island. We tried every one we could find during our week here. The whole family agrees- outstanding! The filling has a luscious sweet balance with a bit of cinnamon. The crust should win an award! Ideal flakiness, bite, and flavor. Just the faintest sweetness that is a great complement to the filling. It's the kind of crust you want to eat all by itself it's so good.

My husband and I were driving back to our BnB when I saw a sign for pies out of the corner of my eye. Being a pie lover, I had to follow the sign which led us through a neighborhood where we pulled into a driveway of a house. We were greeted by the owner and was offered three selections: strawberry rhubarb, mixed berry, or maine blueberry. I ordered a mixed berry pie which was delivered warm and ready for consumption! The pie has an amazing flaky frust (which is rare for me to find) with a perfectly sweetened filling. I highly recommend getting your pies here and look forward to purchasing them in Portland in the near future!!

A little difficult to locate but well worth finding this little home bakery tucked away in this quaint little Maine town. Blueberry pie is delish! Perfectly sweet and homemade!

The blueberry pie was one of the best I've had, however I lowered the rating for two reasons, price and interaction with the owner. Not a positive interaction with the owner and poor customer service skills.

If there's one thing my fiancé and I love, it's a good pie. We were driving one day and saw their pie sign on the side of the road so we decided to check it out. They 100% have the best pie I've ever had! It's always sweet and savory, stuffed with filling, and cooked perfectly.

Pie was absolutely scrumptious. Cutting into it you could tell how well made the crust was. Heating it up for a minute made it delectable.

Wow... just wow! My husband, Olaf, and I cane here three times during our month stay in Mount Desert Island. The only reason it wasn't four was because we drove by once and the pie sign wasn't out. These pies are to die for. Our favorite was the strawberry rhubarb pie. We made sure to pick up one pie for our drive back to DC, so we could savor the deliciousness. We had a chance to talk with Hannah and learned more about the family-run business. It was so lovely to talk with her. It's some of the best pie I've ever eaten. I can't wait to come back. I agree, "it's always pie time." Truly amazing and you won't be disappointed.
