Mount Emily Park

A great place to take to have a walk and exercise at this small park. There a good varieties of trees and plants. As it is on higher ground, you can get to breathe in nice fresh air in the morning.

This became my "local* park when we moved to Mount Sophia in June 24. There is enough greenery to give you a feeling of being in nature. No traffic noise. Plenty of benches. A good network of paths and stairs for walking and climbing exercise. And a place where they have a local style outdoor gym.

Situated up a hill away from the surrounding road traffic, the park is quiet and serene. Due to the park's relatively inaccessible location, it's users were mainly nearby residents. The many matured trees provide ample shade. The park have both a children's playground, an adult exercise corner and a dog run. Mount Emily Park is an old park with a rich history. It was previously known as Bukit Rawa. Right at the park entrance is an entrance shelter which has an old beautiful emblem on its concrete wall. The emblem is a coat of arms granted to the Municipal Commission by the College of Heralds in April 1948. History has it that the shelter was the entrance to a former Mount Emily Swimming Pool. Mount Emily used to have 2 Service Reserviors that were constructed in 1880. But by 1920, the reservior was rendered redundant as a new and bigger Fort Canning Service Reservior was being built replacing it. Mt Emily Service Reserviors were then converted into a swimming pool. But due to poor visitor ship the pool was closed down in 1981 and demolished. Well maintained park that requires a bit of a hike to get to. Decent playground for playing sand. Because it requires a bit of a hike and not very accessible to people outside of the neighbourhood, it is usually a fairly quiet park. Recently they’ve planted more trees and added some park furnitures.

Small quaint park on the hillside. Good to laze around on a weekend evening. One of the entrances requires climbing of few flights of stairs. Ideal for a small run on an elevation. There's a small play area for kids.

What a gem to find this crest still kept there for us to look back and remember the old Singapore days

It is a very small (but well-maintained) park at the top of Mount Emily and probably appeal more to the residents around here. There is nothing much to see or do except for a playground (one of the rare ones in Singapore that still have sand) and many nice benches to sit on. The grass patches have been fenced off due to COVID-19 safe distancing measures.

A nice park within walking distance from the busy end of Orchard road, around the Plaza Singapore area. You need to hike up the small hill while on the way up take note of the many private condominiums. The park is away from the main road so it is not busy at all. There are lots of benches for you to rest on. The crowd there are mainly Indians as it is probably nearer to Little India. The walk way is several concentrate circles, so you stay around the park.
