Just had to do a hike in Fiji😁...late post. Was done March 2020. ✅Mt Batilamu hike, 1195mts, Koroyanitu National Park, Lautoka. Hard work (10am start🌞) as usual but absolutely worth it! Big hike, swim at the falls! Hired a 4x4..drove ourselves to the village, went to the office. Paid $25 each, and did the hike on our own. Easy to find and easy to do on your own. Hassle free- Track well worn.

We loved our hike up Mt. Batilamu. It was a steep 2 hours up and 1 hour down, with a fantastic view from the top. Our party of 5 hired a car in Nadi, drove to the tiny village of Abaca and found a knowledgeable and hospitable guide by the name of Paul. Paul has helped arranged for huts and toilets to be set up in the park. Our fee was $25 per adult plus $50 for a day of guiding part of our party to the waterfall. Either hike could be done without a guide if that is your preference. The area is very safe; we were not worried about either the car being left or hiking alone up Mt. Batilamu. I recommend going early before the day becomes too hot, and ensure you bring all the food and water you will require. 4WD is necessary to get there. Small gifts for the local villagers are always appreciated

We had a phantastic hike to the mountain of Batilamu thanks to our Guide from Abaca, who leaded us safe and friendly through cool forest paths to the best viewing points. Although some views were nothing but cloudy it was worth it! Doing this trip you will support the local people, saving the forest from deforestation and keeping this beautiful landscape as it is. You will need a four wheel car to get there. We just asked in a restaurant in Lautoka and found somebody, who drove us for 70fd. Do not pay more than about 100fd! You can stay one or two nights in Abaca, the village from where the hike starts and live with a big family, which is for shure an interesting experience, but we decided to stay in Lautoka in Annies House, which you find via airbnb and is highly recommended, as it is big and clean and cool with a very friendly korean family.
