Mount Majura Vineyard

Despite the cold and rainy weather while we're in Canberra, the cellar door is warm and welcoming. The host is also very knowledgeable and friendly as he's also allowed our well-behaved dog at the cellar door due to the wet weather. We enjoyed our wine tasting and have left the cellar door with few bottles to take home with us :) The location is picturesque and is dog friendly at the Alfresco area. Definitely worth a visit and it's not too far from the Canberra centre

The first winery I visited when I moved to Canberra from Canada, unaware there even was a "Canberra Wine Region". It remains one of my favourite wineries; I love that they're branching out into Spanish varietals, and I am a huge fan of their Tempranillo (and blends), as well as the fun things they're doing with Touriga. I bring all my visiting friends to the Vineyard for the experience.

I had the pleasure of taking a tour group to Mount Majura on a recent three day tour of the Canberra Districts. So glad we booked a tasting. A real delight, wonderful story telling and the wines were delicious.Mount Majura has been include in the Top Wineries of Australia by the Real Review and you can see why. Thank you, the feedback from our group of 8 was universally very positive. I loved the magnums of Reisling!!

What an amazing place for a Saturday afternoon casual tasting. We had the flight with the cheese plate and fell in. Love with the wines. Very knowledgeable pouring staff. We asked lots of questions and had a great time. Took a bottle home with us as well. Be sure to book a table if you go and ask for one outside under the cover. It’s well worth the trip.

We've been here 3 times now. Visiting Canberra we stopped by this lovely winery with our local hosts. Option of 3 x $10 tastings or a $20 premium tasting which we opted for. Served with a small cheese plate and chutney, the wines were delicious. The service was friendly and informative. We purchased 2 bottles to take away. The only criticism we could offer is that the tastings were very small and barely enough to get a good mouthful. Only 1 person looking after all the visitors too which slowed things down. The ambience was enjoyable with the blue wrens fluttering around and the smell of star jasmine in the air was divine. Visited again in June 2024. We were the only people there. The service was exceptional. The premium wines were lovely as usual. The small platter for each person was delicious as previously experienced. We will keep visiting every time we return to Canberra.

Some great selections of wine, lovely venue and very friendly and helpful staff. It was very busy when we went, but they still found a table for us outside undercover. The food looked delicious too and you can order all of their wines online afterwards if needed!

After a visit to Mt Majura Truffle farm, we engaged in a wine tasting close by at Mt Majura Winery just outside the city of Canberra. Producing high quality light wines with shiraz and riesling being their most popular. Their cellar door is open for tastings, though due to COVID restrictions, you must book ahead of time. The tastings are pretty reasonable for $15, and you try 12 wines and it includes your choice of cheese, charcuterie or vegan plate. We spent a lovely afternoon here, for the staff were happy and helpful and the food and drinks were great. It was a good visit for the end of our trip.

I have been buying wines from here for years and subscribe to their email list. When in ACT I try to get here to have the wine tasting. It is very relaxed at tables in a room surrounded by windows so that you can gaze on the vineyard. AND the wines are very very good.

I was here for a blind tasting and let me tell you these guys know how to empress. We were taken on a tour around the vine yard, show where it all grows and in what type of earth. Was told to taste one of the grapes off the vine to see what is was like at it rawest form. Amazing is all there was to say...
