Our stay at Mount Meru Lodge in Tanzania was truly unforgettable, and what stood out most was all the incredible work being done there. From the very first email and WhatsApp message, the communication was fast, warm, and reassuring—we knew right away we were in good hands.||||The service on arrival and throughout our stay was excellent. Harry, the owner, and his wife welcomed us with such open arms that we immediately felt like part of the family. Their dedication to creating a caring, comfortable environment is clear in everything they do.||||The location is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly set for relaxation. Our room was cozy and comfortable, and the surrounding landscape was stunning—ideal for walks, photography, and taking in the natural beauty of the area.||||One of the highlights was our visit to the local market, where we saw firsthand how connected the lodge is to the community. Everyone made us feel completely at home. We also appreciated learning about the outreach and support work being done in the area, especially with the orphanage and local families.||||For anyone planning to visit, we highly recommend bringing donations such as clothing or supplies for the children when doing the market walk or orphanage visit—we wish we had known this earlier, as it makes a meaningful difference.||||Mount Meru Lodge is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place where genuine hospitality, community support, and beautiful surroundings come together. Mount Meru Game Lodge, a perfect experience, offers a picturesque setting with a manicured garden and diverse wildlife. We stayed one night after safari before heading to the airport. The friendly and knowledgeable staff guides guests to the property’s buffalos, monkeys, and peacocks. A pool cools guests after exploring, and a cozy bonfire creates a warm atmosphere for relaxation in the evening. They also serve delicious dinners. Comfortable rooms are available, but without AC.

We stayed here on the first and last days of our Tanzania trip and loved it. The grounds are lush, peaceful, and lovely, filled with blooming flowers, playful monkeys, a stunning crowned crane, and peacocks. The rooms are very nice and quite comfortable. Service was excellent, including accommodating our 1:00 AM wake-up call and 2:00 AM check-out time to catch an early morning flight. We would look forward to staying here again on any future visits.

We stayed at the Mount Meru Game Lodge for 3 nights after a 3 days journey. It was a great place from our travel and jet leg. This is a wonderful place surrounded by nature. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The cottages are spacious. Ours was overviewing the pond. It was a tranquil setting and we can only highly recommend this lodge.

We were booked in for one night at the end of our 4 week South East Africa tour but as it was going to be our anniversary we decided to stay for another two nights and really glad we did. Although the Lodge is not all that far from the main road it is really quiet and peaceful. The Lodges are spaced just right apart and are all close to the main dining/relaxing areas and pool. It is also part of a small nature reserve with a number of animals and birdlife. Lodges are first class and BIG. The food, ambience and staff are all outstanding. Whilst ALL of the staff are genuinely caring, friendly, extremely helpful and attentive and always smiling yet totally professional, it would be very amiss not to make special mention of Rehema, Joyce, Scolla, Aston and Stanislaw. These members went way past the extra mile to ensure our stay was a truly memorable one and we feel that they should be publicly congratulated and rewarded for their outstanding efforts. Recommend ? Absolutely. Return on another trip... You bet.

We spent 3 Days staying at Mt Meru Game Lodge at the end of our Safari. I cannot speak more highly of the tropical oasis in a rather parched landscape. The rooms were very clean and nicely renovated, the food excellent . Wheelchair accessibility was impressive following a medical incident . The hospitality from all the staff here from the owners to all of the restaurant and hotel staff was warm and helpful. We will be back.

Stayed here on my first night in Tanzania. Arrived late, but the staff were so helpful and polite. Room was very clean, large and comfortable. Loved that it had been turned down ready for me.||Despite arriving after 9 I was able to order some dinner - the bruschetta was probably the best I have ever had anywhere, tangy and delicious. Breakfast was plentiful and also served with a smile.||It was lovely to wander around the sanctuary, though the geese were a little scary.||Highly recommend.

This isn’t a 5 star luxury but it’s very luxury a 5 star experience. We stayed in the family room - which is two bedrooms furnished with care. Really nice and warm hospitality. On site sanctuary including zonkeys (zebra donkeys) and lots of monkeys in the trees. Fire pit in the evenings. On site woodworking artisan. Nice food.
