We stayed in. the Lodge portion at the resort. The room was decent, but older carpet and bathroom. They had super comfortable pillows and the Nespresso machine made a decent cup of coffee for the morning. We took advantage of all of the benefits that went along with staying at the lodge. We used the pools both days. There are three areas and our favorite was the 16 and older pool area where we were around adults. We even did a yoga class with Sandi in the morning. There were three smaller soaking pools and this seemed to be the fanciest/newest area and is only available to guests staying at the resort. If you stay on the property, you also have access to the cabanas and the water slide in the largest pool area. We tried the water slide. This was definitely NOT for us, but the shaded cabana with a privacy flap was perfect! We had an amazing steak dinner in their restaurant on site. It was a little pricey, but it was good. Breakfast the next day was fantastic and very affordable. You can't beat the scenery!

We sincerely enjoyed MOST of our stay. We were able to rent one of the cabins last minute for the weekend so we didn’t mind paying the $1300 price tag. That said, when we arrived, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, the bathroom blinds were broken and the tub hardly drained when someone was in the shower. Certainly not $1300 accommodations but the atmosphere of where the cabin was, was amazing. The adults only pool wasn’t cleaned and had so many leaves in it, they were stuck to everyone. We didn’t see a single staff member until the 15 minute warning from the lifeguard. The only other downfall was the food at Mary Murphy Steakhouse. We went to breakfast and the avocado toast was completely inedible and not even close to the $18 it cost. Truly terrible. Their food prices on the website are not what is on the printed menus either. They also didn’t have standard pancakes and eggs like they advertised for “express breakfast” either morning so above all, I would not go back to their restaurant. That said, the food truck at the water slide pool was AMAZING! Overall, we would go back the staff just needs to do better to justify the prices of the resort.

We stayed in the riverside suites. We really enjoyed sitting on the back balcony, and watching and listening to Chalk Creek. ||In the morning we did some water yoga. Sandy was great! There was some warm up, we got a little break to cool off and get a little water or spa water to drink and we moved into yoga flow. It's the longest session I've had at a resort (they usually seem to last about 30 minutes). We had a great time! ||The pools were fun. The most relaxing were the relaxation pool and cascading pools. The best views (though all were lovely) were at the infinity pool.||Also, dinner at Mary's Steakhouse was delicious.||I do not regret staying at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort.

We’ve been coming to Mt Princeton for nearly 30 years and it’s one of my favorite places on earth. Unfortunately I have to say our last trip there in June 2025 was pretty mediocre. Our biggest issue was that almost all the pools were too hot to comfortably soak in for longer than 5 minutes due to the hot outside temps. Even the upper pools that are only open in the summer were uncomfortably hot in the 80 degree sunshine. I understand the springs are a natural occurrence and it might be difficult to quickly change the temp of the pools but 85-88F would be a far more appropriate water temp in the summer. My son did have a great time on the giant slides but we will probably think twice about visiting again in the summer.

Checked into Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, early afternoon, July 2, 2025 as an overnight guest. When my friend and I checked into Mt. Princeton Lodge, they offered a complimentary room upgrade. We accepted, but the bill showed a $50 addition to the room fee I had on screenshot from reserving ahead. The waitress put in the wrong breakfast. Both steam saunas were out of order. The dry sauna on the adult side was not hot. All the man-made pools had chlorine levels that dried out my skin. At this time of year, if the creek is flowing heavy, patrons are not allowed to find hot pools at the creekside. So chlorine soak was only option. There is not a lick of shade near any soaking pool. Maybe near the creek, see above comment. When checking out, there was a random $15 fee labeled entertainment that they could not explain and did take it off. They did adjust the room fee back to the original confirmation. They never asked my friend which card was theirs for their part of the payment, so they charged my card twice. I had to call and have this corrected. In all, the experience at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort was not resort status. Just another money pit for tourists.

We came for a romantic getaway, ended up doing my proposal here—and yes it went well! Very beautiful resort to stay at, with great views and great hot spring options. We stayed in the Creekside suites, which IMO is best lodging option. Sara at the front desk is very helpful and accommodating during our stay (and also before we even got there). The attached restaurant was good as well. Definitely checkout the infinity pool, one of the best views in the resort.

Love the springs, have been coming here for decades. Decided to get a room this time. The description was inaccurate and even calling to confirm, accurate details were not provided on what was in the room (i.e. microwave). It was quite dirty but we saw staff come through daily & the housekeepers were very polite asking if we needed anything. Otherwise felt safe in the room, and it was quiet (low occupancy while we were there). We didn't get to use the closest upper pool since it is only open on the weekends, and we were there mid-week. We ordered take-out from the onsite restaurant Mary Murphy Steakhouse. Paid a premium and honestly thought we were all going to get sick. Burgers tasted like fish. The staff was very rude since we were just picking up (gratuity included, they would have gotten a bigger tip if I'd just tipped as usual!). Pizza & wings from the neighboring Market were equally priced but MUCH better and the staff was actually inviting in the Market. Hearing the front desk staff who were soaking near closing after their shift end about how they don't make enough, have to share housing, can't believe what the tourists pay, etc was extremely inappropriate. Yes, we live in an overpriced resort area as well, but it's inappropriate to discuss while onsite and around paying patrons. The grounds are well kept and plenty of parking. Still love the springs! But not sure I'd stay onsite again.

We love taking our family to the Mt Princeton pool and these trips have been vital for our kids learning to swim! I highly recommend Meg O’Toole! I had what started out as a very hesitant swimmer and Meg was so good at drawing out courage and finding the perfect balance between having fun and encouraging new skills. She’s the best!

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Mount Princeton Hot Springs and it was an excellent experience that we would do again when visiting Colorado. The service and accommodations were five-star and we especially appreciated Joey who assisted us at check-in. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Thank you to the Mount Princeton Hot Springs resort for an excellent stay.

Yelp
I traveled out of state to celebrate my friends birthday here. She booked a massage for me but didn't know I was pregnant. When we arrived, I approached the front desk & explained. An older lady stated that I couldn't receive a massage in my first trimester. She didn't give me any other options to replace my massage, wasn't very friendly, and was very loud about my pregnancy even after I told her the group I was with did not know. I honestly felt shamed by her. This is also irritating because I called the spa earlier in the week to explain the situation and get info about what I could do at the spa (I know hot springs are not recommended for pregnant women) and the person on the phone never mentioned that I wouldn't be able to receive a massage, and I did inform her that I had one booked. If this is a policy, those in guest services should know this information AND it should be stated explicitly on the website. There's clearly nothing safe for me to do here and I wish I wouldn't have come. I feel uncomfortable and unwelcome and the spa staff didn't try to make any suggestions/accommodations or express any empathy.

Yelp
We stayed there for our 10 year anniversary recently. The drive up there was beautiful, the resort itself was fairly spread out and sprawling. Very beautiful area. The staff was very friendly, especially in the pool area. Our room was clean and in good shape, but nothing spectacular. We really enjoyed the Hot Springs, especially the 16+ pools. We decided to eat at the steakhouse on site. I think it's called Mary Murphy's steakhouse. We had the artichoke spinach appetizer, a steak and a Kobe burger. The food was not very good at all. The appetizer was runny with very little flavor. The burger had a weird taste, and the steak was not really seasoned. Neither of us felt very good after eating either. The food was way overpriced in our opinion. This was a one and done in our opinion. I understand it probably cost a lot to maintain the facility, but their prices are way too high for what they offer. There are cheaper hot springs around the state I would recommend visiting.

Yelp
"Rest and relaxation" not with the dubstep music playing into the night. I went to the front desk to ask about it and they basically laughed at me and told me they would ask them to turn it down. When I told them that if it kept me up all night I would be requesting a refund. I'm not paying$1000 to be kept up all night. They laughed again and said they didn't do refunds. So I asked "so you prioritize other guests?" They got super snotty at that. And said they do this every week. It would have been nice to be notified of that when I called to book a pet friendly cabin. It's been one thing after the next with the staff here. But not being able to sleep with the loud music echoing off the cabin is the last straw.

Yelp
We went on a snowy mid week day and it was gorgeous. Just a day trip but we spent hours soaking in the pools and river. So special with the snow.

Lily S.

Yelp
Granted, I haven't been back since the pandemic, but this was a great spot, especially a great alternative to the prevalent Glenwood Springs resort, in that it was smaller, more personal and personable, as well as more chance to be in nature. The accommodations were great. We came during the holidays one year and although the resort is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by snow, it did not feel sad at all, as it was so festive on site. Food was good, soaking was better, and the stay was excellent. Again, my experience was before Colorado had an influx of people that ultimately made everything more crowded. I understand that's the price to pay for diversity. May Mount Princeton stay original and true to itself...

George P.

Yelp
Great place to stay. It was relaxing and everyone was so nice. The rooms were ok but the views were awesome. Mary Murphy's Steak house was a great place for us to celebrate our Anniversary. The only thing we didn't like was the bread as the appetizer. It was cold and tasted like a plain white bread(It was suppose to have smoked cheese with green Chile's) Not at all. Other than that everything was great. There was someone next to us that had a dog, and every morning at 0700 he would be outside barking(Not Good to be where a pet room is at). Probably wont be back for the cost.

Yelp
Been to this location 3 times now and it's a nice place to find hot springs merging into the river where you can bath in them. If direct hot springs don't fancy you there are other alternative pools and hot tubs that get heated water from the earth. This place is pricy, so if you want there are other hot springs around the area. This location has a bar and restaurant as well in site. Changing rooms available. Many cabins can also be rented at the hot spring or surrounding adjacent areas. Definitely worth to check out but be prepared to cash in some money.

Kelly R.

Yelp
This is not the place for you if you're looking for a restful soak in a hot spring. The creek side pools are shallow and not warm; the staff are rude; and the day pass doesn't cover all the pools that it says it does on the website. Definitely not worth the money. The people in the pools are loud and drunk. The atmosphere is not peaceful at all.

Yelp
The Hot Springs made this resort worthwhile. After a long day of skiing at Copper Mountain, we got dinner and drove 1.5h to the resort, and arrived just as the Hot Springs were closing for the night (9p). It was a bit frustrating as we really wanted to use these after a long day on the slopes, and that felt like it was a random time to close, as they clearly were able to stay open after dark, but that's not a big issue. The Hot Springs themselves don't open until 9 AM either, which is a bit late to get started with our day as we wanted to enjoy the sunrise in the warmth of the hot spring. The room boasted a hillside view but the inside looked a bit more rundown when you got there, with older fixtures and decor. The shower also had very low water pressure and the water did not get hot enough for my liking. After doing a lot of price matching and research, I paid $290 for the one night in this room, and it was a little disappointing. Additionally, I called the resort the day before to inquire about the bed situation in the room, as I was potentially going to have an additional guest joining, and wanted to know if there were rollaway bed options, and the lady on the phone assured us every single room on the property came with a pullout sofa that would double as an extra bed. I don't know what she was talking about, there was a tiny, two cushion chair that a person would definitely not be able to lay out on in the room besides the beds and that was it. Luckily, our extra guest did not end up coming because if he had, it would have been a disaster. We had a breakfast at the hotel restaurant in the morning, prices are pretty much what you'd expect at a resort, and the food was good, but nothing crazy. The real kicker here, of course, were the Hot Springs. The main guest pool looked more like a public pool and wasn't super appealing to go into, so we skipped it and went to the cascading rock pools first, which were lovely and provided a nice view. We had to cross the street and climb a bit to get to the infinity pool hot spring, which was full as it's only open on the weekends from 10 to 5. Also an old man in the pool was pretty rude to us and wouldn't let us have any space. Oh well. The highlight of all the Hot Springs were the natural rock pools on the edges of the river. These incorporated the most beautiful Rocky Mountain View and were scalding hot, but if you moved some of the smaller rocks around, you would allow in the cold water from the river, which really balanced it out and made it bearable, especially on an abnormally warm and sunny January day in the mid 40s. We spent a couple of hours here, and really enjoyed our soak, making our experience worthwhile. After evaluating the property, if I come back again, I would definitely stay in a cabin, and I would be sure to arrive early enough to use the hot spring the night before as well. Additionally, the hot spring locker rooms are pretty gross, but the spa locker rooms are much nicer, just a tip The staff are also very kind and accommodating.

Yelp
Mount Princeton Spa - You need to tighten things up. You could be so much better. The road to the Hillside rooms are poorly marked and there's no WiFi. Please, it's almost 2025. There was some hair in the bathroom, but otherwise we have no complaints. The coffee maker was first rate. But no key cards for the hotel rooms? What is this 1961? I have to depend that the previous guest handed in their keys? Get with the program. The dining room is pretty good for dinner, but please, $11 for bread? Kind of cheesy. The men and women's rooms of the spa need some work. The women's bathing suit dryer didn't work, some toilets were out of commission, and on the men's side, toilets were broken. As far as checking in and out, there were lines doing both. You need more front desk help. And if I use a credit card you're gonna charge me a 3.99% fee? That's pretty lame. As if I walk around with $750 in cash. And let's not forget your two gas pumps - $5.59 per gallon. That's "gotcha" pricing right there. Puh-leeze!

Christina K.

Yelp
Love the water classes at the hotprings. Jan Smith was our teacher and so friendly. She asked where everyone was from and even knew my friends Winter Park friends. So relaxing to have the classes at the spa pool. Brilliant fall blue sky day. Jan was great!

Jaime S.

Yelp
Some staff are nice, but it's ruined by the arrogant staff that also work here. Differing rates and prices depending on who you ask at the spa. Avoid at all costs. This place charges $45/adult to sit in a river.

Luke V.

Yelp
Great get away and only 2 hrs from Denver area. Gets busy in the summer but l9oking forward to a winter visit. Great restaurant in the main lodge. Cabins are new and clean but $750 per night was a little cheaper for what you get.

Dan C.

Yelp
Top Shelf Hot Springs. Everything is done well. Also a bit less expensive than The Springs in Pagosa Springs and every bit as nice. Dining, natural pools, manicured pools, Steam room all perfect. The only negative that stands out to me was a simple one. We stood at the Hillside rooms and though well done, the rooms are missing places to hang your clothes.. Very curious. There were only 2 hangers and no clothes hooks. All our clothes and suits ended up on the floor or suitcase. Other than that simple easy to fix inconvenience we really enjoyed our selves.

Linda E.

Yelp
Mary Murphy's Steak House at the resort is a treasure! We ate there 3 times. The food was delicious, high quality and wonderful presentation. We enjoyed the elk, cod, salmon, and the pork. All were fantastic. The drinks from the bar were great as well. Don't get frustrated with the host. He'll figure it out soon. We stayed on a 1 br cabin. It was ok. Kind of dark. TV and fireplace didn't work. We called and they had them fixed right of way. The internet is crappy. Don't plan on getting any work done. The pools were great, nice and clean. It was nice to have 1 pool where there were no kids. The water classes were great there as well. The upper pools were perfect for families, young and old. It was a wonderful stay.

Juan, Jr C.

Yelp
I'm very impressed with this location. The staff has been phenomenal taking care of us.

Yelp
Ugh. I've heard so many good things about this place, so in our recent trip to Salida, my husband and I figured we'd kick off the cold morning with a warm dip before exploring the city. We chose to pay just for the morning, so this review is for the day only - not staying at the resort. Okay - I hate to be the hateful reviewer, but this spot supremely overrated. And I mean SUPREMELY. The GOOD: ++ I'll admit, tucked into the valley of Nathrop, Co, the view is stunning and filled with snowcapped mountains, lush pinery and feels as though you've stumbled upon a gem of a spot. ++ Makes for decent Instagram photos! ++ If you stay at the resort, you get 2 free days at the hot springs! ++ The grounds are decently maintained and offer plenty of room to spread out via lounge chairs, ect. While we opted for a locker, there were plenty of patrons leaving their belongings out and about with no worries at all - creating a safe space! The BAD & UGLY: -- There is a drastic miscommunication between the website, signage out front and the staff. The website stated the admission rate was $35/adult with a discounted rate for children and seniors. However, upon entering the compound, the signage outside the bath house states that each person is to be charged $50/person on the weekends. However, the woman working the front desk charged everyone $40/person which was interesting and weird. --The $35 gave access to all 7 pools throughout the property, according to the website. BUT the only access available for that rate was 2 pools (both mildly warm) and the Creekside option. I was most interested in the creek option, as it's insane to me that a pocket of hot springs and creek can be in the same river but divided by rocks. So naturally, we gravitated there first. There is NO, I repeat, NO stairs, walkway, ladder, etc. to get down into said creekside area. In fact, it was a little sketchy to see folks scaling the walls/down slippery boulders of rocks to get in and DEFINITELY not for those who have ailments or disabilities. My husband, who was recovering from an ankle injury, had trouble maneuvering through the pools, as they are packed and with the awkward rocks, was really pretty stressful. OYE. -- The Adult pool and additional 3 pools (for a total of 7) are only offered to those who stay at the resort. Because we wanted to rid ourselves of the children, we asked about heading across the bridge. For an additional $60 we could enjoy the other pools. UM NO. -- Staff is extremely uneducated on the processes, procedures, and seemed relatively out of it throughout our encounter. The woman up front was friendly - sure - but repeatedly stated she didn't know what day or time it was to charge things properly, was also the bartender and seemed utterly confused on most things. -- All towels are $10 with a $5 back when you return them along with a $7 locker rental fee. When my husband "checked out" as she had mentioned all cards were held for a "tab charge", she cocked her head and said "okay". When asked if we could return the towels shortly, she stated we weren't allowed to leave with them. I asked about the $10 charge for towels (because we got 50% back upon return) and pointed to the blue bin for us to discard our towels. Awkard. Note to self - bring own towels and there is plenty of room to stash your stuff among the pools. -- The space, although spread out, gets pretty crowded fast and the layout is truly awful. With people coming from every direction and doors to the stairs for pools, it causes quite the commotion and frequent bumping into others. Overall, I was disappointed in this pricy experience, but I justified it as an "experience" worth seeing when in and around Salida. Next time - go elsewhere, unless you're willing to shell out a pretty penny for the good, bad and ugly.

Sara M.

Yelp
A group of us 12 girls went to Buena Vista for a weekend and went here for a few hours & had a blast! The natural hot springs was so warm and fun. The infinity has the best views of the mountains. Overall, a stunning day out in the mountains in warm water!

Jay S.

Yelp
Stayed in one of the large very nice cabin and far enough away from other cabins to have a lil privacy. Brought my dog and she loved it aswell..only 4 stars because the kitchen was super basic barely enough utensils to cook with and the grill had no propane but they sent a new tank up quickly.also our blanket on the bed was dirty the girlfriend pointed it out! The hotsprings were great and so was the massage..also went to ghost town up the road and that was a sight to see!

Pete P.

Yelp
Claim to be dog friendly but they fail to specify its service dogs. Apparently front desk didn't care for Californians. Told us if any evidence of smoking would tack on $350 fine yet 3 rooms next to us had smoking ashes outside there doors. Don't waste your time or $ on this place. Not California friendly.

Belinda M.

Yelp
We got into an accident on our way from 6.53 hours away and they wouldn't budge on helping us get any of our $602 back fir a trip we never got to enjoy

LoriLynn R.

Yelp
We went for my nieces destination wedding. This place is absolutely breathtaking. Great for families or an adult getaway. They have 2 sides. The river with the pools of hot water is amazing. I would suggest a complete adult visit. Let the stress flow down river as you soak in the springs and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. You can fly into Denver or Colorado Springs. A beautiful drive from both airports.

Becca B.

Yelp
This has been one of our most relaxing hot springs adventures yet. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves. There are two larger pools on the main deck, and then a handful of smaller pools (10-12) created out of rock formations a short distance away from the two larger pools. The larger pools had more of a communal vibe to them. People were chatting, there were some children around, and they were generally louder. The smaller pools were much quieter and more intimate. They're a little challenging to get in and out of, but by observing others you catch on relatively quickly. The larger pools were shallow but plenty hot to where depth wasn't really needed. In all honesty we enjoyed the experience but i didn't feel it was worth $40 per person. It was quite crowded and they didn't have any limits or restrictions to # of occupants. There were no towels available unless you wanted to provide a deposit for them. The little pools were challenging to access. Further along the lines of accessibility, you will need to ascend about 50 steps to access the resort from the parking lot. And there was soooo much marijuana smoke. I'm not against marijuana, it is Colorado, but the smoke was so excessive at times that it obstructed being able to see the stars above. The front desk employees were two young women who sat on their phones the whole time with the exception of charging people entrance fees.

Jessica R.

Yelp
We stayed in the Creekside Suites and enjoyed easy access to the pools and spa. The room was nicely appointed, but the beds felt a bit bowed toward the center, which impacted the quality of sleep. The bathroom was nice and clean, but the shower curtain was shorter than necessary to keep the water from spilling into the floor. There were dishes in the dishwasher, but it was unclear if they were clean. Overall it was a pleasant and peaceful stay.

Shelly M.

Yelp
Quick 2 hour trip from Denver. We stayed at the creekside cabins which were clean and updated with comfy bed. The walk to spa pool was just a few minutes. The area is lovely to walk but there is limited parking if you choose to drive there. They have a separate pool for day passes and no children are allowed at the spa pool. Both of these made for a much better experience as a spa guest! I had the facial and the Mt Princeton special with the exfoliation and massage. Both were fantastic and the showers/locker room was very clean and roomy. The on-site market place was well stocked with a variety of options. The poolside snack bar has one person staffed and had a long wait line. Double your order if you think you'll want a second smoothie, snack or drink. The restaurant was pretty good and Randy was an excellent server. All in great place and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This review is for the hot springs only. Price : $40 per adult. You dont need a reservation you can just show up and pay at the entrance to the hot springs. Lockers : are available but you have to pay for them. Believe the cost was $7 a day. Credit card is how you pay for that. They are not very big though. And when we were there, there were so many folks there that there were no lockers available. Towels : are available to rent at a cost. We brought our own so not sure what the price was. They have 2 big pools. One hotter than the other. The hotter pool is a good temp but has not place to sit and relax. You literally just have to stand in the pool or hoist yourself up on the side of the pool and have your legs dipping in. The other pool had a lot of kids in it. A lot. They were jumping in and splashing around and having a good time. I didn't spend any time in that pool for that reason. It was also cooler. Thankfully the saving grace was they have river pools. Those were shallower and actually really nice. However there is not an easy/safe way to get down there. You have to try to safely navigate the rocks to get down. Be prepared for depending on where you sit lots of people may be crawling over you. But at least you can sit down and actually relax. The temps fluctuated depending on where you were sitting. It was really nice though. Great views. This is not my favorite hot springs that i have been to. I would honestly probably not come back to this one unless whoever i was in the area with really wanted to go to this one. I heard there were others called cottonwood hot springs in BV but dont know anything about them. It was an enjoyable time. But i felt like it was expensive and could use a few upgrades to make it a little more enjoyable.

Yelp
It is very difficult to relax here: 1. The prices have skyrocketed since covid 2. They have reduced their hours --they close at 9:pm. This is crazy for people who drive from other cities to get here. 3. Mattresses are bargain basement 4. Pillows are like sandbags 5. There are no chairs in the rooms so if you want to sit and eat. (4 person room) 6. The tv is 20 years old and you can't even read the menu... ----you might ask why would you watch tv when you're at a beautiful hot springs resort? Well let me tell you...they kick everyone out at 9:00 (there is literally nothing to do) and tell you they are closing.....But alas!!!! They are actually selling the next hours as "Private soaks". That's right....you drive all they way from Denver, check in, and finally get in the water by 7:30 just to get ushered out at 8:45. We've been sold out of god greatest gift to the Chaffee community. Yelp
Great experience! We have stayed here twice, both over Thanksgiving, and both times it was on point. I think when people experience close to off-grid places it is important to keep in mind that some of the perfect amenities or lower prices just aren't feasable being so far removed. Mt. Princeton does a great job. From the hot springs and locker/changing areas to the food and service, it has always been fun and worth it. We usually soak in the adult area (a large pool and 3 small pools) but this trip we tried out the relaxation pool (weekends only) and the original (historic) side that allows kids. Sure, the temps fluctuate some, but nothing crazy. We got to know how they all felt so every day we were prepared for what we wanted in that day's experience. We haven't been able to get a spot in the river because we get down there a little later, but it looks fun. We also love the food at the pool bars and the restaurant. The food portions are always large we feel, so not only delicious but worth it. We have stayed in Cliffside and Hillside. We prefer Cliffside because the rooms are larger with a back patio. However, both are great. Hot water in Hillside was hard to come by, so we showered in the locker room, which was just fine with us. When it snows, be ready for 4-wheel drive or all-wheel. It is magical!

Yelp
Beware if you decide to buy a day pass, the pricing is misleading as you don't get to use all of the pools for the $40/$45 pass. If you want to use the actual hot spring fed pool and hot tubs, expect to pay an additional $25 per person.

Yelp
The map and images online show 3 big pools and several small natural looking pools. However, you pay $45 and it only gives you access to TWO pools which are basically regular hotel swimming pools, no hot spring in site. You have to pay $20 more to get to the rest of the pools. The pools are also full of hair, i cant tell you how much of other peoples hair i had between my fingers. Do not recommend.

Yelp
Ummm...not what I was expecting. They have 2-3 literal warm swimming pools and on the side of the creek, u can scale the rocks to sit it natural hot pools. That was the only enjoyable part but maybe a Ladder or something would have been nice? My anxiety was sky high watching kids and older people climb up slippery rocks to get in and out. I did not stay in the hotel so as far as hot springs I would definitely try somewhere else first.

Yelp
My husband and I went and got a day pass. The pools for day use are hit or miss with the temperature. We tried 3-4 before we found a super hot one. Note-bring your own towels to avoid the fee to use one at the hot springs. Very relaxing, definitely will bring a book to read next time. We didn't eat there but there is a restaurant on site, and in the gas station they sell Godfathers pizza and souvenirs.

Yelp
The front desk people were amiable and efficient. The staff at the spa were all young and couldn't care less and were busy with their phones. Sadly, we were there for 3 nights, and 2 classes were canceled without notice. The staff didn't know about the cancellations either. Our room was at the Creekside, which was very large and nice. Sadly it was chilly so we did not take advantage of the patio. Keeping the door open allowed us to enjoy the creek sounds. The instructors for the classes were worth a return trip. They made all the exercises fun.

Yelp
I came here with some friends during the last weekend of January, so it was still freezing cold but nice while sitting in the steamy river. Quality time with them was fantastic, but I'd love to visit again during the day because it looks so much prettier in pictures. Sitting on gravel was uncomfortable, and I'd want to walk around to some of the different hot springs in the facility. Happy to pay $40 for the day pass but service wasn't that great. Seemed like no one wanted to be there, and that always kills the vibe for me a little. Didn't check out the locker rooms. Definitely need to remember to bring a reusable water bottle next time and towel because the rentals are insanely expensive. Will be better-prepared if I ever come here again!

Yelp
DANGEROUS. Why on earth don't they make this place more safe?!!? It's like they want people to leave as soon as possible and not be comfortable. I could understand if it was FREE... but if you are charging $45 for that main portion of the building, it should be so much better than it is. It's $45 to go to the basic area and it's not even worth your money. At all. The best part is the steam room (which they don't even tell you about) -- everything else is dangerous and not made for relaxing. There's a lot of seating around the pools but the pools aren't made to lounge in for long periods and are really awkward to stand in. If you have kids they can't be in there- there's no where to stand or sit. I watched many people take dangerous falls including little kids. They need to cover the whole area with walking pads it's so scary and slick. If you want to go in the outdoor area you should be prepared to literally go to the hospital- I cannot believe they don't have to have people sign release forms for the outdoor area- it's beyond stupid how they set that up. JUST PUT SOME STAIRS GOING DOWN TO THE ROCKS?!? How is this place not constantly getting sued? You have to essentially jump off of the side of a huge retaining wall into a bed of boulders in moving water to enjoy the outdoor river/ pools. You guys make so much money, you could EASILY make that area more accessible and don't. It's really stupid. How much could a set of stairs cost? If you have a family member with a disability FORGET IT. This place is in a gorgeous place but the main area is just a complete danger zone and nothing is done well or for the safety of their customers. I am really disappointed. The woman working the front desk couldn't even be bothered to explain the area to us it was so weird. They don't even try to upsell the other area of the resort, which looked much nicer. I doubt it's worth the extra money but maybe they actually had comfortable areas to soak on that side. What a scam.

Yelp
We've been here with a day pass here and there over the years but today was the first time we stayed onsite. As much as I didn't care for the facility previously, I now um, hate, it. Nearly $500 a (Tuesday) night, and I have to DRIVE between pools (and rooms)? Kid friendly pool (freezing) is separate from the old (in disrepair) area? Which is separate from the nicer, bougie, 16+ area? But I have to pay the same despite the kid area closing at 5, and my kids not qualifying to go to the "nice" part of the resort? Oh, and the bar that closes at 5 actually closes at 4:30? So many questions, but the main one is "why did I come here over the various other CO/NM hot springs who manage to blend family fun AND adult-only escape?" I've been to all the major spots in this region (and all over the world(, and I've just never vibed with this spot, despite actually adoring the neighboring communities of BV and Salida. Go to BV, go to Salida, go to the river, skip Mt. Princeton "Resort."

Yelp
Our room was comfortable and clean . Hiking the area never disappoints . Love the restaurant at the lodge . Had a delicious dinner and enjoyed a breakfast.

Yelp
Three stars bc the staff was friendly. Everyone we spoke to was pleasant and understanding. The first pool was disgusting, full of bugs.....I mean full of dead bugs. There was even a squashed and pretty large dead bug on the first step into the pool. How nice to be the first thing you see upon entering. I didn't want to submerge my body because it was so gross. We might have been in the pool for 20 seconds before deciding this was unpleasant. The women's locker room was pretty bad too. Probably should have known when their were used bandaids and toilet paper everywhere. It cost $45 to enter and you have to pay for your locker. This was very disappointing because we drove a while to get here. My family and I were immediately turned off by the dirty pool and were uninterested in trying the others. $100+ dollars for a bath. Not worth it. Will not be back.

Yelp
This review is just for the hot springs. One of the locals raved about this hot spring, and I honestly went to Colorado to check out the hot springs! Unfortunately, for how much the Colorado hot springs are hyped up to, I was disappointed. A 2.5 hour trip away from Denver -- one time trip and probably never again unless I was around the area already. I went here around noon, and it was jam-packed crowded. There's a changing room, showers, and bathrooms. We paid 30$/ticket with a $7 locker fee. Not bad at all in my opinion for the price. For the hot springs, it was in nature but it wasn't as in nature as I had wanted it to be. You could still easily see the road and various man made structures. Closer to the rocks, the water is steaming hot because they pump in the hot water from the springs. On the other side is a river. You could find a little hot spring hole that is closer to the river if you want to comfortably relax in the hot spring. The water was clear and did not smell of sulfur. I ended up staying here for about 2 hours. For the showers, they had ran out of conditioner and it's the indoor shower type where you have to press the button every 5 or so seconds else the water doesn't run. They were clean and the water was warm. Strong pressure -- sometimes too strong. Only 1/6 showers I tried had a comfortable water pressure.

Yelp
We stayed but this review is only about using the pool. So after check-in, it was straight to the pool. Man, the whole pool experience was a let down. We only stayed in the adult relaxation pool area. The pool was gunky. Multiple wads of long black hair swirling in the water, getting caught around my arm and neck. Grosssss. Sunscreen/ body oils visible on the surface of the water. We also tried the three natural creek pools (cascading hot springs) below the relaxation pool. They were mostly too hot for us, but while sitting in the lowest/coolest one, you could see sooo many specks of shedded skin floating in the water. There needs to be better pool maintenance, filtering, and cleaning. I can't even imagine how the kids area would've been. When we visited, it was June - there was still a lot of snow run off, so the actual creekside pools were too dangerous to sit in. So if that's of interest to you, you'll want to schedule later in the summer. It was kind of off-puting about how strict they are about towels, like you get one (1) pass/ticket that you have to give pool attendant, to only get one (1) towel. If you don't return the either towel OR pass you're issued a $10 fine. I also thought it was weird that the day guests had to pay an extra fee $7 to just use the locker. Kinda tacky. The resort should just group those 'fees' into their regular pricing and it wouldn't feel like bean-counting. The clientele was... motley. There were a couple girls groups, older 60s-70s couples, a dirty (meaning I could smell unwashed hair) hipster group of late 20s. One older couple literally stared at my husband and I the whole time, it was just kinda strange? Then another couple close to our age came and they stared at them for a while instead. There is a bar off the pool and it was pretty frequent people going back and forth to the bar. I noticed others really ONLY got out of the pool to sit in the deck chairs or come back with drinks, so after a while I had my speculation that everyone was peeing in the pool. There were squealy kids coming up the sidewalk bridge from the other side, and though it was supposedly adults only they didn't seem to enforce that really. Then the towel attendant was also weird. When we presented the bean-counting, err, towel pass, she said, "Ohhh I'm sorry, those arent valid here" and we just kinda caught off guard but I guess it was just an awkward sense of humor. I wasn't offended or whatever, it was more just weird in an annoying way. Then when I went in to use the bathroom, she told me, "Sorry, it's closed... just kidding," Ok ma'am plz can you just stop being weird now. w/e We finally had enough when we were sitting in the sun and two 50s women parked themselves in the pool RIGHT in front of our chairs. Proceeded to talk obnoxiously loud not even 4 feet from us when the whole rest of the pool was empty. Really? Just clueless or entitled, who knows. One looked all Karen-y so I chickened out rather than risk a confrontation. We didn't make it up to the waterslide/ kids area. Well, that was on purpose since we didn't have kids along. In the morning my husband wanted to have another soak before we left, but I just kept remembering the feeling of that long hair wrapping around my arm and was too disgusted :( He mentioned there was a pretty good turn out for the AM water aerobics class. All in all, I probably wouldn't go back here. I understand this was on the tail end of Covid, and have limits of a rural community for staffing and supply. Really though, mainly because the pools were so gross. I brought home a great souvenir in the form of a BV infection! SORRY TMI BUT TRUUUE

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights with my wife. We're from Boulder so we know the scenery is great but free. This is a one-star motel with a great pool in an excellent location. Our alleged luxury accommodations contained two beds and a good coffeemaker. No inside chairs. No outside chairs. Exactly one place to sit: the toilet. No table, no desk. Drank my coffee standing up at an ironing board: true luxury. Crumbling parking lot and walkways, poorly lit. Broken vending machine and matching broken ice machine right next door. No room service. One reservations-only restaurant with perhaps 8 mundane entrees that is closed by 9 pm. Half-empty but very loud and slow. One store that sells liquor and t-shirts, and pizza on weekends only (honest), which also closes at 9 pm. One truck that sells beer and hot dogs until 5 pm. No key drop-off or other efficient way to check-out; one exceptionally rude clerk who wiped one star off the review all by herself. Enjoy these nice hot springs on a day pass. Bring your own towel and water, and stay and eat elsewhere. Buena Vista is a short easy drive, with much better food, drink, rooms, and amenities.

Yelp
Feel like we got the old bait and switch. Reserved what they told us was a "creekside cabin." What we got was a basic hotel room that was so dirty, there were dried snot boogers wiped all over our bathroom wall that we paid wayyyy too much for. If we ever go back, we'll be getting a day pass and staying somewhere else. Would not recommend to a friend.

Yelp
This was my third adventure to the hot springs. The hot springs are well kept and clean. We stayed in the hilltop rooms but would suggest staying elsewhere. After spending the day at the spa and getting treatments, we were ready for bed. The bed was hard and pillows were not comfortable. It's like we should have had massages after they stay!

Yelp
Make sure you book on a site like booking.com, Expedia and the like and not the Mt. Princeton site to ensure you are eligible for things like free room upgrades, potentially better prices etc. We booked on their site so while several couples we met were upgraded to our same suite for free so the resort could 'make things easier for housekeeping' (which the manager I spoke with said was just told to the couples as a reason for the upgrade but maybe wasn't the truth whatever that means) we paid full price for the same experience. When I communicated with Mt P about feeling shafted around this I was given the runaround that it was a 3rd party booking site thing when what I should have been told was sure we'll match your price to what those other lucky couples paid instead. Nope, Mt P obviously wants my money but not my future business. And I just don't believe that those couples just happened to have some kind of status on whatever booking site they supposedly used to ensure a free upgrade. Too coincidental for me. At least our room was clean this time unlike the last visit when I documented grossness and also told the front desk upon checkout that the room heater was as loud as construction noise and kept us up all night on our anniversary time away. They didn't care much other than to say they'd let the maintenance staff know. Happy Anniversary to us that was (not)! You may wonder why did we go back again? Well we've been coming here for decades and have fond memories of past visits that we'd like to relive but I have to say this place is getting worse not better especially with their exorbitant prices and unfriendly staff. I will say the staff this time was much friendlier I'm assuming because they weren't that busy but the last time they were horrible and seemed annoyed they actually had a job to do, especially the bath house folks. Can I also just say what is up with the pathetic pillows and only 3 per bed? Get some real pillows Mt P! The pillow thing has been ongoing since we started staying there and it's just bizarre they choose those other than they're probably way cheap. Also there is a desperate need for something to block the outdoor lights flooding the creek side suites through the window on the door. Just another thing that interrupted sleep and completely preventable. Go midweek and book the right way and you'll be happy-ish.

Yelp
Over priced for basically a public pool experience with screaming kids everywhere. Mediocre at best for $40 per person

Yelp
Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort offered an amazing winter getaway. The hot spring pools were amazing. Cabin was fantastic. The food in Mary Murphy's was great but a little pricey. Staff was extremely helpful and truly cared how our stay was going and continually asked if we needed anything. Even the security guard who brought us a plunger in the middle of the night was happy to do so. Only two small areas for improvement, not a lot of places to hang and dry out swimsuits and no broom or indoor door mat to help keep the salt and dirt off the floor of cabin. If I am ever in this part of Colorado again, I will plan to stay here again.

Yelp
We really had a good time (2 adults, 8yo,14yo, 1yo). We all enjoyed the hot springs, and the opportunity to check out snow shoes to take to Saint Elmo. We did not get a chance to get in the infinity pool as it wasn't open until the weekend ( didn't know that before arrival). The dislikes( but not deal breakers) water pressure for the shower was non existent. For the stay the room was decent but if I were staying somewhere else for the same price I'd be disappointed. I guess the hot springs snow shoe check out, and scenery make up for that‍ The restaurant we only ate at for breakfast and it was ok. The food was Luke warm so more than likely probably majority of it already prepared and then fried the egg to go on top of the skillet. We did travel off the resort to the Walmart and that was nice to see... brought back some snacks for the room. Luckily, we brought games to play for night because aside from the springs and snow shoeing there wasn't a whole lot to do. My kids weren't interested in the horses. Wr stayed Hillside and it was extremely convenient to walk out of our door and into our truck!

Yelp
Came here a few days ago and the pools at the spa were not hot enough at all and the one that's suppose to be the hottest just felt like warm bath water. Other people we're making same comments. I came here a year ago in May and the water was really hot plus the infinity was open and slide. The worst part.... Omg all of the spa pool water was sooo gross, weird floating things and old napkins that fell in the water. Seems like they do not have good filters or a cleaning system in place. Looked like old water yuckkkk!!! I spent all my time in the natural river spring which was so much cleaner since it had the natural river flowing through it! kinda want my money back but didn't want to complain yet here I am why did I pay $130 exactly?
