Wow. Firstly what a view of the sea, amazing. We went for lunch, staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good, well presented, tasty and as described on the menu. The raspberry sundae was gorgeous and the cheeseboard excellent. Drinks, both soft and alcoholic were presented so well. This place is like a breath of fresh air. Absolutely spotless and with great quirky bits. Decor is surprising and interesting. We booked to visit again and would heartily recommend.

Bank Holiday Weekend - Restaurant meal ||We visit Portpatrick every year and have done for 30 years. |We have always enjoyed going for dinner at the Mount Stewart but on this occasion we were deeply disappointed. |We had booked our table but on arrival were warned by the staff that it was very busy and the kitchen was running slowly. We weren’t in a hurry so were not too bothered. We were however disappointed as the quality and portion sizes were poor. It is a fairly expensive restaurant so you expect good food for that price. My main meal of herb crusted salmon with veg and potatoes costing £24 was a huge disappointment. The slice of salmon fillet was about an inch in width. Literally 4 mouthfuls if lucky. The veg so undercooked I struggled to cut with table knife. The potatoes so over boiled they were soggy. |My wife’s seafood pasta was penne pasta in a bland tomato sauce with a few prawns through it. |We started to wonder if they had run out of ingredients and thrown this meal together. ||Having used this restaurant on about 20 occasions it will be difficult to return after this poor poor meal.

Ordered a couple of burgers 19 quid, came with a single tiny bit of lettuce, no salad, no sauce, no cheese, bun not even toasted. Looked like something you’d get from a school cafeteria. The patty was good though 👍 Was very disappointed with it as an Australian you convert the price and that’s 40 aud for a single burger, if anyone says Australia is more expensive show them how much a burger costs here for what you get 🤣 The view was lovely, great spot, nice and sunny. In law said the lasagna was lovely.

Have eaten here on a number of occasions but today was really terrible. I ordered the Chicken Balmoral and I can honestly say it was the worst meal I’ve had in years. The vegetables were rock hard could hardly cut my knife through them, the haggis was inedible as was the bacon. It was meant to be served with peppercorn sauce but tasted like gravy, yuk. The cost £21. My partner had the fish & chips and said it was ok.|Not sure what’s happened with the standard of food but the owner seriously has to address it. Our next visit to Portpatrick we will not be eating at the Mount Stuart.

Would not recommend. Overpriced food. Below average. Waste of money. ||Menu stated a choice from a selection of meats for the roast dinner. We arrived at 1:30 to be told it was gammon on the menu - disappointing! ||Carbonara was greasy - couldn’t eat it. |Scampi and chips average. |Beef Stroganoff - very small portion for £24.50 - very overpriced. ||Young girls who served us were friendly and polite. Manager avoided us and did not apologise about quality of food, instead got the young girls to deal with the complaint. Very unprofessional!

Loved it here. We called in for dinner and were delighted with our choices. A smaller menu but still plenty of choice and the food was fresh and vibrant, served hot. Delicious soup that tasted as good as my own, Gambas Pil Pil for the hubby followed by a main of Linguine Carbonara and the Balmoral chicken for myself which was delicious and a huge portion. The venue is a delight to be in, modern airy and bright with the best sea views. The only downfall for us 2 small children crying and a couple who were a tad drunk but hey we've all been there. The staff were lovely and we will definitely be booking to stay here on our next visit.

Dined here and the food was very poor. Table next to us complained and got a partial refund. So did we and we got a partial refund too. Waitress's were good. Not much left to say. I have ate in here twice before and there were no problems. It's a lovely hotel.
