Great location right in the heart of downtown Calistoga and across the vine cycling/running trail. Loved the complementary stylish bike rental. Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Personable staff throughout the reservation process on the phone, friendly check in and check out. Thank you Manny, Steve and Kevin for your hospitality. Breakfast delivered to the room was a nice touch with delicious banana bread, apple cake and lemon cake. Best part was the 24/7 access to the mineral water big jazzuci and heated pool. Very clean and no chlorine smell. Andrew at the spa desk was helpful arranging our wonderful mud wrap experience. The foot massage that came with the wrap was heavenly. Spa room has a great set up as two separate showers are attached to the back of the room. Very clean and comfortable with privacy. Next time I will book another night after the spa treatment as my relaxed body wanted to just go take a nap afterward.

Perfect 1 night stop on our Northern California road trip. The only issue was having to carry suitcases upstairs, no elevator that I saw. However, loved our stay! Room is awesome!

The property is quite dated and in need of some TLC. The cottages are in desperate need of repair and upgrading. When one of your “best” rooms has broken blinds, stained carpeting an a kitchenette that looks like it is being held together by paint…you begin to wonder what the worst will look like. Also, for us security of the place and specifically our room was lacking. Back gate to property is left open. This was directly next to our room. On 2 occasions we came back to find the gate to our cottage door had been left open. Entry to these rooms is by an actual key, not a key card. With a bar and theatre set up right outside the cottage, it would’ve been nice to be alerted to or asked if the noise would be an issue. Instead we were left ear plugs on the night table? Lastly, cleaning services are on request only and although requested, we found many things it the room that were never tidied or cleaned. Quite disappointing. The pool and hot tub area while relaxing are also in need of some improvements.

Mother’s Day weekend. 2025. Just left hotel. Pros. 1 walking distance to restaurants. Shopping. 2 Rooms were clean. Cons 1. No room service unless ask. 2. Music plays downstairs until 10 pm every night. You feel the vibration in room. 3. Pool area. Small and anyone can enter. No locks. 4. Hot tub was green. 5. Parking is on street if you can find it. 6. Carry your own bags up flights of stairs. 7. Noise at all hours. Slamming doors. People talking. 8. Breakfast 3 slices bread and three oranges. Cold coffee. 9. Basically will not be returning.

this is just a gem in the nice valley. real hot spring water hot tub is the best. room is spacing and high ceiling, service is nice and kind, wish they can have more staffs, but it is fine for slow season right now and this price level. wish we could spent more time there.

Great location with a decent size pool and jacuzzi. We stayed in a suite for 2 couples for 1 night and loved it. And room service for breakfast!

Not at all as pictured or described! Great marketing website but do NOT expect what you see on the website when you arrive. We stayed at Mount View for 4 days/3nights. Here are is what to really expect. Room - It is decorated nice and air worked great. There is no view but honestly we wouldn’t care if the rest of the property was nice. Our bathroom was surface cleaned but the tub tile grout needs to be scrubbed and tub recaulked. Pool Area - It is absolutely disgraceful, neglected and need of much repair. The pool is filthy and needs to be resurfaced. It is rusting in areas and has black mold marks throughout. The ladder to the pool is broken with a cone and caution tape on it. The fence around the property is falling down. The pool bar was never open our entire stay. The mineral hot tub is disgusting. They will tell you that is from the minerals, it is not. We went to Golden Haven Spa for their spa and their mineral hot tubs did not look like that. Spa - It is advertised on their site if you book directly through Mount View you get two $25 credits for their spa. However you can’t get an appointment. We called two weeks in advance and were told they had no availability. We were told if something opens up they would call us or allow us to use the two $25 credits towards something else. When we checked in we were told they couldn’t do that. If you book through a third party (expedia, trivago etc) the room rate is cheaper but the hotel promises you this credit so you book through them spending more for the room. The breakfast - Nice concept but the pastries are not fresh, they taste like they have been previously frozen or refrigerated for days. On 5/23 fresh pastries were delivered (see pics) but we were still being served the same pastries that were delivered days ago. The hydration station - see pics it was also disgusting and unsanitary. Quite honestly, during our entire stay I did not witness anyone cleaning anything. Parking - there isn’t any. We were told to drive behind the property and find something on the street. This street is lined with commercial vehicles. Nearly impossible. They advertised a fun movie night on their website however come to find out you had to pay to view the movie. Not at all mentioned on their website. This was supposed to be a relaxing getaway. Instead, we left feeling deceived, frustrated, and taken advantage of. Mount View should be ashamed of how they’re operating this property. The owner should concentrate on making sure his hotel is top notch before investing in other businesses Absolutely do NOT recommend.

Google
The advance check in arrangements were very good, so were the staff and the pool area. Everything else was poor. Our room was small and austere with terrible lighting. Worse still our ground floor room was next to an alleyway that became a café with music in the evening and a conduit for maintenance workers during the day, any which could have looked straight into our room. The complimentary breakfast delivered to our room was not a compliment at all. It was, frankly, pathetic, just beverages and pieces of cake. We were glad that we were only staying one night and will not return.

Yelp
We loved staying here and look forward to coming back. - Friendly and helpful staff - Spacious room - Pool and Hot Tub were great and open 24 hours - Convenient location - Robes in the room were handy - Breakfast was small but yummy and it was nice that it was delivered to the room - I liked the old building and historical looking furniture in the room

Yelp
This cute, historic hotel is perfectly situated on the Main Street in Calistoga. It's within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and shops. For the area, it's reasonably priced and comes with a coffeehouse style breakfast in the morning.

Yelp
Recently stayed for an overnight to celebrate an Anniversary. The Mount View Hotel is an establishment we have chosen to stay for years. It's in need of some upkeep in the suite room we occupied. The grounds are well kept and the front desk staff were friendly. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of the town which makes it accessible to all Calistoga has to offer. There is a spa but was closed the night we stayed. I realize January is an off time to be in wine country but I just felt we were not seen as hotel guests. Might check out other places in the area on our next visit.

Yelp
For being an Historic hotel, you can't expect it to be the Ritz Carlton. It is what it is. The staff is very hospitable & go out of their way to accommodate your needs. The young man (Kevin) that man's the front desk is amazing! Very gracious. He deserves a raise. The rooms are clean & equipped with items that you will use. Continental breakfast is delivered to your room every morning of your stay. If you are going to the spa, to get a massage. Dillion the male masseur is a "healer" and knows which areas to address. Actually everyone was very nice & accommodating. We love Calistoga & can't wait to visit here again. Kuddos to everyone that works at this hotel. You're doing an amazing job

Yelp
This hotel's central position made exploring the nearby attractions an effortless endeavor. Restaurants, shopping and wine tasting rooms were conveniently just a stone throw away. One of the highlights of our stay undoubtedly revolved around the mineral hot tub and pool area. The hotel's attentive and professional staff completed the experience with their warm hospitality. The service was impeccable, especially when dealing with Kevin, Matt and I believe Yonica (spelling?). Breakfast delivery was a nice touch. Great stay and this hotel is truly a gem waiting to be discovered in the heart of the city. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Yelp
This is an older property that has been well maintained. They have a private pool area and a thermal hot tub. This area is open 24 hrs and is quite delightful on a warm summer evening to sit under the stars. The location of this property is on Lincoln, the Main Street in town. There is a nice park area behind and a block away from the hotel that has a farmer's market on Saturday mornings. This property can also charge electric cars, including a Tesla charger (but not a super charger) The bed was super comfy, didn't hurt my back. However, if you will be staying longer than a night, I recommend renting the larger room. When they mention the "cozy" queen bedroom, that can be interpreted to mean hardly any room to walk or move around. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay with super helpful and friendly service. They also offer coffee or tea and breads delivered to your door in the morning.

Yelp
A group of coworkers and I decided to ditch work for the day and set up some much-needed massages, due to the size of our party Mount View was the only Spa that would accommodate our group size. After our massages, we lounged by the pool to enjoy some cocktails and charcuterie boards. I forgot my bathing suit at home which was a bummer but I was lucky enough to find one at one of the boutique shops next door. The location is ideal in downtown Calistoga and parking was easy to find, the hotel will validate your parking if you ask. I was surprised by the interior design of the lobby/reception area, it's very modern and retro eccentric. IG worthy if you're into that kind of aesthetic. As the weather warms up we plan on visiting Mount View for more spa treatments and hopefully spend the day by the pool time permitting.

Yelp
I needed a walk away from the city to release accumulated stress from work. Calistoga has always been the place to go. I got at the Mount View Hotel at night. Great welcoming from the front desk... great jacussy... like the ambien. The single rooms are spacious and noticed the desire to step up the rooms. However, there is no daily cleaning. The continental breakfast was a joke. No parking. I expected more more a 400 dollars night..

Yelp
I was not expected to be impressed but I was!! This was a "hotel in a pinch" situation and I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. First, my interaction with everyone at the front desk was impeccable. They were kind, genuine and made me feel appreciated. I got upgraded to a pretty exquisite room...it was clean, spacious and better than I imagined. I didn't experience the pool area due to poor weather but it's cute and quaint. Hope to come back soon! xx

Yelp
Friendly service and great location, did not have time to enjoy the spa but it did look like it would be worth it. Enjoy the old school charm of the hotel and the outdoor classic movie nights if you're there for one!

Yelp
The pool area is nice and tranquil. The staff seem very nice. The room is old style which is cool even though it's very dated and there's some upgrades but they dropped the ball on other aspects such as the tub/shower which is a claw foot tub which is cool but the tub is out of balance and shifted every time you turn around and it has a stupid shower curtain ring around the tub so close it feels like you're showering while standing up in a wet sleeping bag. All of that could've been overlooked but they made a big deal about bringing us breakfast to our room and asked if we preferred coffee and what time? We said 8:30. Well that came and went and we called the front desk and asked, they said it's on the way but still never showed up. So we left and got our own coffee, but that set the tone for our outlook on this place and now we'll never be back.

Yelp
Thank you to the staff who made our stay very nice! Matt- Your name is the only one I remember~ the Blonde guy, our housekeeper... anyway, Yes, the hotel is OLD! In fact, it is the Gracious Grande dame hotel built in 1917! They are in the process of replacing the carpet in the rooms with plank flooring. Our first room had a musty smell in the drawers and the room in general. We let Matt know- Very important here people! Let the management KNOW if there is a problem before you got "Spouting off" on Yelp like the Old Faithful Geyser in Calistoga! ( another great reason to get out to Calistoga!) Anyway, Matt moved us to another room that had just been updated and it was wonderful! We watched an outdoor movie- 'My Cousin Vinnie" - great way to wind down a long drive! The salt water pool was amazing- the Geo Thermal hot tub was quite oxidized - they need to update their photo, however, it does not affect the water in any way. Fresh coffee and breakfast breads delivered to your room- when you want it- and , an Illy espresso pod machine in the room. We stayed 2 nights and were very pleased at the hospitality, location, cleanliness and chill vibe at this historic hotel! We cannot wait to come back!!

Yelp
Great two-night stay right in the center of town! Our room was spacious, clean and quiet. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful in offering suggestions for spots to eat and drink. The pool bar wasn't open during the week but the staff at Johnnie's was happy to walk our food order out to the pool since they weren't too busy (NOTE they are not affiliated with the hotel and if you want to stop in for a nightcap you're best to arrive by around 9 as it seemed they would close early if they weren't busy). Not sure about the actual spa hours but we weren't interested in treatments so not a big deal. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We love calistoga. We've been many times. Sadly, businesses have fallen but calistogians are resilient. However, Mount View hotel was a huge disappointment. Skeletal staff (including the spa) concierge let us know to call the front desk anytime for anything yet when I asked for coffee pods for the next am all they had was decaf and the man at the front desk had no idea where to get them. We are hugely disappointed.

Yelp
Great ambiance, Lovely decors. A bit in the pricier side but so worth the $$. Each room is decorated uniquely by the owners. We loved our two queen rooms unit. Continental Breakfast is basically fruits, a couple of toasts, juices and coffee. They gave you options to have them delivered to your room or by the pool. It was a complementary we didn't expect as it wasn't part of the package we paid so can't complain much about it. There are other options outside the hotel if you choose to go for fancy breakfast or something great from the nearby bakeries. We did both. Got our complimentary breakfast brought to the pool so we can enjoy the warm morning sun and we also got our fancy croissants and other pastries from the nearby bakery. Love the quiet and relaxing backyard with outdoor heated, cabanas, with burst cool air on a very hot afternoon. Enjoyed the geothermal mineral whirlpool. Also recommended the on-site massage session. At the time of our stay, they have movie night in the back patio. Overall, this is my favorite and my first choice place to stay when in Calistoga. The outside and inside allow you to lounge with great comfort and relaxation.

Yelp
Great small 100+ year old boutique hotel on Calistoga's Main Street. The rooms are nice and comfortable and the pool area is quaint. The staff is very pleasant and the hotel has recently been remodeled. My only complaint is that the hotel does not have parking. During this time of Covid, parking on the street is not enforced to the three hour limit so you can park there all day.
google avatar

Nessa H.

Yelp
5 stars for the 24/7 pool and jacuzzi. Nothing better than late night swims for me! i stay here for that reason . Rooms are cute and quaint! Staff is friendly, located right in the middle of Lincoln st. nice bar/ rest connected to the hotel but the pool does it for me!

Tim K.

Yelp
There is no parking. The hotel looks "tired", needs a major refresh. Rooms smell musty. Worst part about the stay is the bed and pillows, the most uncomfortable, old, lumpy bed which sinks into the middle. Only reason I have a 2 star is for the pool. But even then good luck finding anyone to help you with anything. With that said, extremely overpriced, this is a motel quality at best.

Yelp
What a great place in lovely Calistoga! Our room was just beautiful, with a sitting area and a balcony overlooking the main street. The pool and the hot tub, which is fed by hot springs, are fantastic. There are fabulous restaurants and shops all around the property. The staff was very nice and helpful with reccos for dinner and outings. There is a little theatre/stage area on the property where they show movies or have bands playing. We will definitely be back!!

Yelp
So I came to this hotel this week again and had an AWSOME time it's so cute the bar is very very nice also the people are great! But Rosie gave me another massage and I felt so great she is just awesome it's so calming great atmosphere I love this place !!

Yelp
Great historic hotel with lots of charm! Wonderful staff! Stayed one night for my girlfriends birthday, hung out at the pool and had a great time! Towels, lounge chairs and sofa areas to relax in! Love this place! Lots of local restaurants and a few beer pubs you can walk to as well as several other spas. The hotel also has there own spa on site. Johnny's bar is on site and they are adding a new restaurant. They have also set up an outdoor move area that looks like so much fun!!! Grocery store and drug store just steps away from the hotel too. Great chill place for family, friends and couples.

Yelp
We spent the weekend in Calistoga and this was a spa experience that we booked. Located in an old downtown area also with a backdoor entrance that we used. The premises is clean and pristine inside out including the beautiful pool area. This isn't the cheapest place but it also isn't the most expensive in the area. The staff is very professional, nice and the vibe is relaxed from beginning to end. We did a mud bath which isn't exactly what I expected but no complaints here because it was 10/10. More of a hot tub experience but there's mud at the bottom and they give you bath salt or whatever to rub on or add in yourself. Cant forget to mention the chocolate truffles! So good.. After your time is up they tell you to shower in the same room before coming out as we were led to our massage rooms. The massage was nothing short of amazing, joelee is a master of her craft and joy took care of my love interest the same. One thing to mention is the tips are already added in the bill. Everybody deserved it but I went ahead and made the tip bigger than the 25 minimum. Of all the places I think this one is middle ground for most budgets where you leave feeling like royalty.

Yelp
My friend and I go to Calistoga every year and we always choose this place. It is very quiet and the staff is always very friendly and welcoming. They have a filtered water dispenser and free coffee in morning. Beds are comfortable and room is small but quiet and cozy. They do have banana cake and cutie's delivered to your room w coffee at a chosen time in mornings. They also have a wine happy hour. The pool area is always very quiet. We have only experienced kids there once in all the years we have been going there. Centrally located so it is easy to walk to everywhere. The reason I give one star off is the spa. I have been there several times but I think for Calistoga It could be better. There are zero amenities. You will get a room that you get a massage in, that is it. I love staying at the hotel and return every year. This year I will try some other spas in area.

Yelp
Art Deco, good old decadence in the air and awesome front desk guys that speak Spanish and know my country or birth (Spain) by heart and better than me. Exceptional customer service that covers for some of the outdated stuff. The pool are is not super luxurious if that is what you are looking for, but it is very quiet, relaxing, great feeling there. Hotel is in downtown of quaint and pretty Calistoga, so all perfect. You can spend so much time checking objects from a beautiful era and feel like a character of a vintage movie.

Gillian C.

Yelp
This is an old hotel on the historic register that could be great if they'd update the carpets throughout the hotel, or at least steam-clean them. They're musty smelling, ragged, and if you have any dust allergies, beware. Also, there was no hot water in our room for a shower, and the toilet would not flush. The spa didn't seem to really exist: there was no one ever at its front desk. The heated pool was chilly, and the hot tub with mineral water needed to be resurfaced: it was stained and old. The landscaping was beautiful and the hotel is well-located in the center of Calistoga, and the staff was cheerful. Still, for this price for a room in a hotel that needs this much updating, I'd look elsewhere.

Yelp
Unique hotel. The place was nice and clean. The rooms were well appointed and spotless. The pool was great for kids. Staff was kind and helpful.

Yelp
This hotel was the perfect place to stay while celebrating my birthday this past March. It is in the perfect location in Calistoga, in walking distance to all the boutiques, coffee shops, and restaurants. Calistoga is quite small in general but it was wonderful to be staying right in the heart of this quaint little town. My mother joined my on this birthday weekend getaway so our room had two twin beds with one bathroom. The room was small but arranged nicely to give optimal space with the beds against opposites walls, a small bistro table underneath the wall mounted TV in the center in between the walk in closet and bathroom, and a cute little rolling bar cart with a small Keurig machine. I personally loved the decor and ambiance. My mom however, felt that somethings could use some updating. But it is difficult to know how the other rooms are since we requested a simple room with twin beds. Our view wasn't spectacular either with the parking lot just outside our window. It did give me a bit of comfort since I could keep an eye on my vehicle though. The rest of the hotel is beautiful and again, I love the decor throughout. But I especially loved the small bar where guests could partake in a complimentary wine tasting. This room is also where they have pastries, coffee, and orange juice for guests in the morning. We did not take advantage of any of the spa services but we did see that they offer many services for guests and provide a brochure to look over in the guestrooms. The pool area is nice as well. Although it was cold while we visited I definitely wished were could have spent some of our time relaxing underneath one of the canopies or in the hot tub. Overall, our visit was wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday weekend here.

Yelp
This review is for the spa only. We had an early Valentines day here last week and opted for the Lavender Mudtini Couples Hydrotherapy Mud Bath followed by a Couples Cocoa Massage and we chose this location because they stated that use of all the facilities was included with any treatment. This is important to us because we like usually like to relax as long as possible and make a day of it. The website advises that in addition to your selected services, you get use of the sauna, heated pool, and mineral whirlpool. It also says they have cabanas, free wifi, poolside tables and lounge chairs and a nice locker room. We were really looking forward to a relaxing day. I will start at the beginning. Parking is an issue. There are a few 3 hour parking spaces out front that were occupied and there is an alley way with limited parking one building over from the hotel but it advises it is a tow away zone. Behind the main street where the building is located, there is some street parking but it was all taken. We moved our car just after checking in because someone left one of the 3 hour spots, but we were lucky. The spa is located on a main street that is small but busy and worrying about your car getting towed is not the way to start your spa experience. The staff was nice enough, I guess; a little awkward though. They asked us if we wanted to leave our tip before we started our services which was strange and we declined. However, as we were leaving they said "20% tip?" as if it was a questions but then proceeded to just charge the 20% gratuity (which came out to almost $80 for our $400 worth of services) so we paid and left. It was a bit uncomfortable through, like this odd feeling that they are going to get their 20% so give it to them now or give it to them later. We always tip well, so it wouldn't have been an issue except that they made it uncomfortable and pretty cringe-worthy. The locker room was smaller than I have seen before but still nice. There were a few dozen lockers, two shower stalls and two sinks. They also had flip-flops and brushes, both of which I used and recycled before leaving. The robes are one size fits all. Usually that can be a problem for me because I am a larger girl but I was able to close the robe so I was happy. I typically ask for a larger robe or one from the men's locker room but my husbands robe was exactly the same. His slippers however were much larger so if you have bigger feet, at least you can ask for larger slip ones. We had a little time before our services, so we walked outside to the pool and spa area and the complaints in some of the other reviews we read became understandable. The grounds are old and the facilities show it. It was a gorgeous day but after 10 minutes outside, we decided that we weren't interested in using the pool or spa. They looked dirty, old and worse for the ware. There was dirt floating in the hot tub and since it was maybe 10:30 in the morning, I doubt it was from use that day. It's nice to have the option to use that area but honestly, it was just incredibly unappealing. They had nuts and water in the waiting area and we really liked the "elixer" or flavored water they offered. They brought a little of it into our first service, which was the hydrotherapy mud bath as well as regular ice water and 2 truffles. I think it's really important to explain here that the bath is just that. It's a bath. There is no "mud". The staff put what looked to be a few bath bombs in the water and as they were lavender scented, the water appeared a purple color but there is no mud. They really shouldn't advertise this as a mud bath. You can see from the other reviews that people are annoyed because they are expecting something very different. Also, there were noticeably broken tiles on the tub even in the dim light and things like that take away from the experience. That being said, we enjoyed our bath. You sit in a warm 2-seater Jacuzzi tub for 45 minutes with a pleasant smell and jets massaging you. It seems a bit long and I think 30 minutes would be more reasonable. I got out early to use the body scrub they provide and shower off but if you're just expecting a romantic bath with your partner (as we were) then you won't be disappointed. We went straight to our massages and the massages themselves were fine. I enjoyed the chocolate and lavender scents used and I especially liked that my technician asked me if I wanted that or unscented. However, both my husband and I had headaches later that we think were from the heavily scented oils, so if you are sensitive to smell, I recommend taking advantage of the unscented oils. We discussed using the sauna after our massages but as I indicated earlier, by this point our parking time was running out and we didn't want to risk a ticket. All in all, the massages were good but you're not going to spend a long luxurious day at this spa and $500 for a few hours together seems steep for us. We won't be back.

Yelp
Oh wow! I thought I reviewed already. 5 stars. Fabulous stay on numerous occasions. Great customer service. Beautiful, unique furnishings, amazing warm pool, fabulous mineral springs whirlpool, interesting and friendly guests, delivered each morning to your door: coffee and/or juice plus banana, pumpkin, and lemon breads, complimentary wine tasting poolside evenings on the weekends, poolside food and drinks available for purchase daily. Located right in the middle of the Main Street: I recommend walking to Lovina, Sam's, and Evangelines restaurants for a special night. Shout to the fantastic, longtime manager Derrick.

Yelp
I've been here many times for spa services and highly recommend it. I did not even think ahead when it came to my birthday this year, but saw that they had a groupon for spa services and pool access and wanted that. We arrived and were brought to our dressing rooms where we could lock up our belongings and change into robes. We had a really nice mud treatment for two that left my skin feeling really good. After the services, we retreated to the pool where we hung out in the sun for a few hours. I bought a bottle of white wine to enjoy by the pool and unwind. The pool area is very relaxing and tucked away from the street, it was great. It was a really great way to start off my birthday weekend. Other times that I have been here, I have gotten the massages and always had a great experience. I love the Mount View Hotel and look forward to coming back to stay for the weekend.

Yelp
This hotel was not great for the price. Some of the staff were great and some were not very warm or helpful. I enjoyed the spa very much. The location was great. We found a dead cockroach in our room and told the front desk. The man behind the counter didn't seem to care and didn't offer to make it right besides saying "we can come get that for you"...gee thanks buddy, so glad we paid nearly $400/night for this place. We left feeling unsettled by the experience, which is not we expected when we paid for an establishment like this.

Yelp
We always enjoyed this hotel because it has warm friendly staff, nice rooms and is in the centre of Calistoga on walking distance of restaurants. But now they totally raised the experience with their transformation of the pool area to a main attraction. Misters to cool you down during the day, fire pits in the evening, complimentary wine tastings 4:30-6:00pm, great music, drinks & food for sale and a wonderful attentive person (Trina) to serve you. When you want to have fun and chill this is the place to go.

Yelp
Lovely first stay last weekend in one of the balcony suites. Love the historic charm of this hotel. The pool wasn't too crowded and it was very relaxing. Pool was perfect temperature for a hot day. It was very clean and the hotel staff explained very well what they were doing to keep their guests safe with the pandemic. Great location in downtown Calistoga walking distance to restaurants and shops. I especially appreciate the manager that refunded our night 6 months ago in January after we had just arrived and had a scary family emergency and left 45 minutes after checking in. This was my first experience with the hotel and we appreciated it so much that they refunded us. Definitely was super impressed by their excellent customer service and I am already going back a week later with a friend! Love this place!

Yelp
We had a group of 8 ladies for a bachelorette party. Honestly every girl said that it was the best massage they ever had! I had Hope. Nora is the spa manager, and also an extremely talented massage therapist. Linda was the third therapist that took care of out group, and she was amazing as well. You can tell they just care so much, and had an incredible touch. Also, the amenities were fabulous and we were the only group there, a Sunday in February, so that made the experience awesome as well. They were so patient, and really went the extra mile. Overall it was a once in a lifetime experience, and for the whole day of using the amenities- I thought the price was great too. Highly recommend for a group or just a solo person as well. I can't say enough nice things! I'd love to go back, and try a facial!

Yelp
Charming little retro hotel. Staff is super friendly, especially Trina in the back who bakes fresh cupcakes every night. Great place to relax just down the road from several great wineries. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Trina, who is just fabulous, introduced us to the new movie theatre at this amazing hotel. We are locals who love this spa and visit frequently. We enjoyed the fun wine tasting at the pool and then later the movie - the new Clint Eastwood film, in the back with fun drinks. Trina took care of us throughout. She was engaging and welcoming and really made our night. Thank you!! Jacque and Patrick

Yelp
Thinking of booking here? Don't hesitate and stay here. Slide into a pool lounge chair and Trina is a gem who anticipates your every need with hand crafted cocktails and artisan snacks and delightful meals made to order. She makes you feel like a movie star day and night. It's like your own private oasis. Pool by day and mineral hot tub and fire pit under the stars by night. You just might never leave :)

Yelp
Just stayed here! Lovely lil old hotel, Art Deco boutique style. Staff was super nice. Loved the pool & the mineral jacuzzi. Only deducted a star cause it smelled funky & old. Plus when we went to shower there was a dirty towel in the shower (not from us). I like how it's right on the main strip. Luckily we got a front parking because they don't have a specific parking lot for the hotel. Oh! Their Vino & Vinyl hour was cool out at the pool. Got served vino by a lovely lady, and heard music while relaxing by the nice pool

Yelp
Just spent two nights at this property. Very comfortable king room. Pool nicer than in photos. Our room was very quiet. Fair price (considering location). Only complaint was the terrible breakfast brought to room.

Yelp
Amazing massage and had the most relaxing day at the pool. Great and friendly staff

Yelp
Decided on an impromptu trip to Calistoga & after a quick online search we pulled the trigger on this place. The staff was Very friendly, Covid clean & courteous and knowledgeable. We enjoyed their facilities, we had the hot tub to ourselves & it was nice to chill by the pool after a long day of tasting. They even showed a movie in their courtyard at night. The location was perfect right in the center of town & we hope to be back sooner than later (The Fifth star missing is due to smaller rooms & it was a little noisier than expected. )

Yelp
My husband and I recently went to the spa for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We experienced the relaxing lavender Mudtini bath followed by a couples massage. The bath was amazing! During our 45 minutes of relaxation, we enjoyed the lavender aromatherapy accompanied by iced tea, chocolate, and a chocolate body scrub. After this, we headed to our couples massage. I've had a few massages before, and they always seem to put too much pressure on my knots that I ended up leaving sore and in pain. This was different! My husband and I felt like our massage therapists paid attention to our bodies and catered the experience to our needs. The hardest part was waking up and leaving afterwards. Rosa and Nora were the best! I highly recommend these therapists for your next visit. We can't wait to return!

Yelp
Have you read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day? I haven't read it but last week I thought I'd be able to write the sequel. And interestingly, like a Russian nested doll, my earlier plan to go to Calistoga before pretty much everything in my life took a Wrong Turn factored into the slippery slope of upset and sadness. Yes. When I phoned to cancel the intended Saturday stay I was informed that since I had made said reservation only a few days before and was already within the seven-day cancellation window I was hosed. Useful tip number one - make a note of said window. So I hung up from that call saddened and eyeing sharp objects wondering the patterns they'd make then just on a whim I called them back to see if they could move me a day from Saturday to Sunday instead of actually cancelling. And they did. Faint refrain of angels in the background. So we went yesterday and I write with gladness and a sincere debt of gratitude in my heart because I swear but for last night and all it offered I'd something I don't want to write it here. Useful tip number two - if you can go to Calistoga on a Sunday night do go then because it's so much more peaceful that way. Useful tip number three - stay here. You pretty much knew this was where I was headed reviewing the hotel and slapping down all them red stars right from the get-g so here we are now, at the inevitable. I'm not kidding you. Every single aspect of our stay was divine. From Matt the first who moved the reservation, to Matt the second who checked us in, to the room itself and the fluffyperfect bed and TV for Abby, it was clean and quiet and the tile in the bathroom was lovely. The coffee service this morning was just as offered and perfection with pastries and fruit juices coffee and tea delivered to our door. The spa literally saved my life and got me to stop crying then start again because it was beautiful. I could go on and on but I think I've already left you with enough to influence your northern wine country lodging decision-making process. Abby Stone I owe you another debt of gratitude for steering us here. It really really really was lovely. Mount View Inn & Spa - you've not seen the last of me. Thank you for making everything as good as it possibly could be.

Yelp
$500+ per night for an old hotel that someone through paint on. My room was a king guest room which are very small. Mattress was terrible and very old. My view was of an appliance boneyard from the restaurants on each side of the hotel. This was disgusting and made my experience even more uncomfortable. I was going to take pictures but I figured why. There were at least 50 old appliances/home fixtures. Certainly they know that this isn't acceptable? Parking is public, I was lucky enough to get one near the hotel but if not for COVID and no parking enforcement it could have been a problem. I did not use the pool or spa so no comment on those. I would not recommend this hotel! Hopefully they address these issues.

Yelp
2.5 stars, nothing special @all. For $315 (for 2 ppl Including tip) I expected A LOT more. This was nothing but basic. The women's lounge had 2 showers. No q tips, no hair refreshments. The relaxing lounge had nice cold water and music. The Sauna is co-ed...hmmmm not sure how I feel about that w/ strangers. I received the hot Stone massage 3.5 stars. Nothing memorable. I won't be back and I wish I did my research before spending almost $600 for (4) ppl.

Yelp
I must say, I'm always skeptical... but in the end, I give this place 5 stars because they've got heart and a relaxed clean ambiance. It's what we wanted, after all. I grew up in the area, just over the hill in Santa rosa where we used to go to visit Indian springs when it was an affordable day time destination. Today, one must stay over night their or buy a spa service worth over $50, then also pay the $25 fee...so when I found out Mounts Hotel had a natural mineral hot tub in their pool area, with cool jazz and Fred Astaire sounds piping in; I said that's all I need. And it was. The beds are very comfortable too, with high quality, high thread count cotton linens. And it's right in town, walking distance to anything. I made a friend who showed me her little cabana hut thingy, which was really cute, light and airy with your own private Jacuzzi. Another nice touch is, the coffee they serve, including the little toureg device, features this awesome Italian coffee; deliciously memorable, not your average watered down hotel coffee, no. It's the good stuff.

Yelp
I went here for a couples spa day and had a dissapointing experience. It was great having access to the outdoor pool and spa before and after ou treatment, but quite frankly the pool and spa facilities are not very clean. The pool had lots of floating debris and dirt. And the hot tub, looks VERY dirty from the outside but once you get close up, you notice it is just very old and desperately needs to be resurfaced because it is all stained. All in all both pool and spa, dont look like they belong at a spa, because they dont feel welcoming or clean. Another thing is, our couple spa included a "Mug Bath" which was clearly stated on the website. However, the mud bath is NOT a mud bath at all.... it is a normal water bath, with some added minerals. We both felt very cheated about this service. Only good thing I have to say about this spa is that the service was really friendly.

Yelp
My husband and I live in Hawaii, but after getting married in Sacramento on Saturday, 9/22/18 we decided to take a little one night "mini-moon" in Calistoga before flying back home. Our check-in time wasn't scheduled until 4:00pm, but a change in plans got us into town around noon. We went inside just to see if we could park our car there for the day before checking in, but Matthew at the front desk was so kind and accommodating! He happily checked us into a room right then, and what's more is after we explained what brought us to Calistoga, he upgraded our room! It was such a wonderful way to start our mini-moon. Matthew gave us excellent suggestions; Envy Wines - which ended up being our favorite! & Calistoga Inn Restaurant & Brewery - we went for dinner and had the best pasta we've ever had! Excellent cocktails and atmosphere as well! Our room at Mount View was so beautiful and charming! We loved the decor and all the thoughtful touches! Wine glasses, coffee, good quality shampoo and conditioner, they offer a free glass or flight in the lobby for happy hour, and Matthew kindly informed us about their cities free shuttle service! We would happily go back and stay at the Mount View Hotel & Spa anytime! Mahalo!!

Yelp
Came here for Labor Day weekend. We got the cottage room, which was really cute. Once you open the door, you see the jacuzzi, which fits 2 people. The tub was really clean, which I'm happy about. The room was really nice, the bed was really comfortable and they also had a white board and paint brush for us to paint, which I really enjoyed and like. I would recommend this hotel/cottage so anyone planning on staying in Calistoga. We also go a couple massage, which was amazing. A special shoutout to Linda and Nora, for their amazing work. We got the couple massage package, which included a 20 mins bath and a 50 min deep tissue massage, they were amazing and definitely knew what they are doing. We would come back here again. Overall, I give this place a 5/5.
