Mount Yasur

Tickets to the volcano cost 8,000 vatu per person in the tourist office in front of volcano. This price does not include a jeep that you can use to cover the last ~2 km to the crater. We had our own car, but it seems that a jeep from the tourist office cost another 15-20 thousand vatu per car. You should only go to the volcano in the evening and at night, otherwise you can only see smoke. If you do not have a jeep, you will have to return in pitch darkness. You can break your legs! The volcano is beautiful, but in recent years it has not been that active... Once every 20-30 minutes somewhere deep below it spits a little fire and that's it. 10 years ago it erupted 24 h to a height of 150-200 meters, and the ground shook underfoot. What a sight!! But now, it seems, such activity is considered too dangerous and tourists are not allowed on the site :((

Beautiful palce and vulcanos, you can get here with the trip from the city or from your hotel. You have to pay 8000 vatu for entrance to vulcano, wait for guide and everybody around 17.30 go together to the range. You stay there to 19 and after everybody goes down with guide again. Nice experience during a sunset.

Most accessible active volcano in the world. Its just few meters to hike through the stairs from the base of the mountain. But to reach mountain from the local airport it will take nearly two hours by a 4wheel drive. Currently lava lake not exists but evey few minutes small eruptions occur and threw lava out. Its wow experience that is so hard to experience. Spectacular at dark time.

Volcano is great but company that runs tours charges $9500 vatu = about 140 AUD per person for 2 hours. They are not local and locals don't know where monay goes!.. We only get to see it for 20 min becouse of late acces due to overflowed river :/ And they give No discounts no even 5 more minutes on volcano ! Not happy . Can do it for free if you want just about 1 hour hike on left side of the volcano after crossing river thats the unofficial shortest way if know that from the start i would never pay $280 AUD to risk our life's on Activ volcano! The Risk is yours good luck !

Wow! Totally worth visiting when in Vanuatu! We did a day trip through Air Taxi Vanuatu and it was amazing! Best advice we saw and did was take a charcoal mask! We were the only ones not choking on sulfer n ash clouds! Saw massive rocks flying out! The noise was awesome! So great!!!

We got to witness a live volcano and we loved it. Would recommend this to anyone, it’s a once in a lifetime experience, walking through the warm ash ground looking down into the eyes of the volcano. Don’t let the events of White Island volcano deter you, you can’t predict Mother Nature but you even do a cava ceremony before you go into the volcano which is meant to protect your journey to the top ! I was picked as the guy to give the cava to the chief and it meant a lot to me. Honestly do a trip to Vanuatu you will love it.

One of the standout experiences of my life. Being so close to the heat and power of a very active Volcano was exhilarating. Although my trip there was around 2004, I still remember the hot shock waves vibrating through the volcanic gas and hitting us. A memory I'll hold on to.
