Mountain Hostel Gimmelwald

Amazing place tucked away in a small village the mountains. In summer they have beautiful concerts with an incredible atmosphere! I love going there regularly and the pizzas are the best! I'm excited to try their new poké bowls soon! The owner and her team are so friendly and helpful, always giving their best for the guests.

Located just a few steps from the Gimmelwald cable car station, the hostel provides a homy atmosphere but no private rooms. As a hostel, you sleep alongside strangers in bunk beds lined up next to each other. In the room where me and my wife stayed, we shared it with around 10 more persons. If you are not used to this set up, this may not be the place for you. Also, bathrooms are shared/unisex. Otherwise, the place is good. You can cook your own food if you want, just wash the pans/plates that you used which is not a big deal. Their pizza which they are noted for is just awesome, very good. They have a patio where you can enjoy your drinks. I would go back to this place.

Gorgeous location, cozy, charming, clean interior, very helpful and friendly staff, who make it such a positive environment. The rooms are simple and often packed (so bring ear plugs for the snorers) but the hostel is a great home base. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Very nice and cosy. Good for price for solos Good food. Great hiking opportunities nearby. Only thing is dorms are very crowded and packed. The common areas are great but need cleaning, they are full of house flies. But it’s good value for price.

Total cash grab. I slept in what was really 1 big bed with 4 strangers. There were 12 total in a tiny room and Icouldn’t even get a load of laundry in because there just isn’t space for that many people’s needs. There were 2 showers and I think 3 toilets for more than 30 people (at $65 a head)plus a huge staff. And somehow they convinced the staff to work there for a bed that I was glad to leave. The staff did do a great job though. And the location is great but the owner has ruined that place, for money

Super chill location with great views and outdoor hanging out places. They have sofas, hammocks etc with view of snow covered peaks. Very chill vibe to sit get something to eat/drink and enjoy the nature

Great place with breathtaking views. We did not stay just had food here. Their build your own pizzas were amazing. I also liked their iced americano. We then hiked to Mürren which was beautiful.
