This was such a beautiful surprise during our stay at Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazano. If you are staying with the hotel and (I think?) are staying at least two nights, they offer you a free ticket for either the summer gondola experience or Mountain Lights with unlimited rides. We decided to experience the Mountain Lights, which involved taking the gondola up and either doing a round trip or getting off at the top to walk down the hill. We did both and it was so beautiful getting to hear the sounds of nature alongside an art installation of this magnitude. It was so well worth it.

A nice activity to do at night if you are staying in Hanazono or near by. Taking the gondola up, seeing the light installation from above then on your way back, you walk through the light installation. Since it's a light installation, the pathway will be a bit dark but not to worry, the pathway is easy to navigate.

A very special experience to take up the gondola in the dark and walk down the huge light installation. We went on a foggy evening which had a cool vibe to it. The amount of work that must go into this installation is impressive as well and the staff at the checkin is very friendly.

What a beautiful display !! Going up in the Gondola gives a completely different experience to walking through them. A peaceful and delightful experience.

It was fun and the gondola was really not shaking much, less than the usual skiing gondolas in Switzerland.

Very efficient organization with well explained operation and how to discover Mountain Lights with obviously very beautiful walk down the slopes along these beautiful lights patchwork and some more we witnessed on the way down the beautiful fire works above us, really impressive.

The best part of the Hanazono night lights was a staff member Kenji Kagatsume. He noticed my 80 year old Mom was concerned about walking down the path at night. He took the time to escort us up on the gondola and walked all the way down with a lantern so my Mom could clearly see the path. He explained the various light features along the way and made it very fun and interesting for our family. The additional colored lights were great this year. Thank you Kenji-san.

The light was great and also the gondola but there is not any much to see. Would think it will be good to have more shapes and size. It should be Art but only 1 form and some curve.. nothing more .. don't think it is worth the visit
