Our little cabin was perfect and so cute! I am in love with this place and would recommend. The rooms are a rustic cabin feel and having a fireplace and hot tub inside your room is awesome, oh and there are 3 shower heads in the shower! It is a great location to get to downtown or the gate to Rocky Mountain National Park. The owners are so personable and have so many great recommendations. They make sure you have everything you need. I didn't want to leave!

I booked Cabin 3 for my husband and I’s stay for his birthday trip. We are CO locals so it felt good to support local business. We were greeted so kindly by Chris when we arrived. Him and his wife run this establishment. They were very kind and corresponding was so easy.||Our room was perfect, it was quiet, our hot tub was relaxing and clean and our bed was comfy. They have a small kitchenette equipped with all basic needs which was great. ||We only had 1 night stay but will definitely be coming back in the winter to stay longer.

Went to estes park for our anniversary and this place didn't disappoint. Our cabin was fantastic. Very clean, a beautiful mountain theme, the hot tub was a nice touch in our room. Pam was awesome at helping us plan our day adventures and the atmosphere was peaceful and calm.

Our cabin (#7) was so comfortable and spacious – we loved everything about it. We really appreciated the frontier decor (log beam construction of the bed and utility table). The in-room spa was delightful – we used it every night. In all, couldn't have been better. Kudos to Pam and Charles, who were a fount of info on the area and its attractions. Thanks, Charles, for turning off our spa at the breaker panel after it refused to settle down for the night. Only disappointment – no elk in the front yard. But it's OK – we saw them in the national park.

Great quiet setting. Welcoming owner with recommendations for eating and tips to get a Rocky Mountain National Park Pass. Perfect King sized bed with hot tub in the room. Nice bathroom with dual shower heads and two seats. Small kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee pot. Towel warmer for hot tub towels. Gas fire place and window air conditioners. Close to downtown and a cute little grocery store. Nice outdoor BBQ area along with a hammock and swing.

We absolutely loved our stay. Our room was exceptionally clean. The amenities were gorgeous - we used the fire pit and Pam was very helpful getting it started. Our view was gorgeous and the bed was very comfortable.

The cabin was cozy, relaxing, and clean. Great place to get away, but has good wifi if you have to bring work with you. It's close to downtown and RMNP entrance. Owners are very knowledgeable and gave great recs for dining, activities, and the park.

Beautiful site with great cabins. The Owners were very attentive and the cabins were set up for comfort. Smores around the campfire in the evenings and 100% personal attention. The owners made us feel right at home and the local animals visits made our stay special.

Yelp
We stayed in cabin 2. We had an amazing time! The hosts were great. You can really tell that they cared about our wellbeing during our stay. The cabin was VERY clean. We will be booking again.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary here, this past weekend in cabin #7. It was a beautiful location and the room was perfect. We loved having the kitchen and fridge to store some snacks. The owner sent us restaurant recommendations as well and helped us via text with our late check in. We really enjoyed having the hot tub in the room. The bed was super comfy and the linens and towels were plush and soft. I loved the heated towel rack next to hot tub so you were super warm getting out of the tub. Having a fire place was nice to fall asleep to. We will definitely be back, it was a wonderful staycation and had a really romantic weekend celebrating our anniversary. Thanks Mountain Shadows!!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I needed a break badly, and he found this place online. It was PERFECT. A sweet little cabin in a small cluster of other cabins, not far from downtown Estes Park. It isn't isolated, but it's well-designed for privacy. We were in cabin #6 and really loved it. The cabins have everything we needed -- comfy bed, nice fireplace, little kitchenette for snacks, and a hot tub. The owners are super friendly and helpful. This is a small family business with a personal touch. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Cabin is immaculately clean! Check in was friendly and easy. Location is great! Kitchenette allows for heating/serving of food and contains a small frig. Would highly recommend these cabins for a stay in Estes Park!

Yelp
Wonderful resort while visiting rocky mountain National Park. 5 minutes to the entrance. Pam the owner was very friendly and helpful with general info and restaurant recommendations. Every detail was considered to make it an awesome stay. Coffee, great pillows, lush towels were provided. This was a comfortable and professionally run resort. We'd love to return someday!

Yelp
I surprised my husband with a weekend getaway from the dogs and kids. We stayed in cabin #3 and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Amber was extremely helpful and we were able to check in a little early in. The communication prior to our visit and detailed directions were very helpful. Just a few minutes drive to the downtown area, but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle. The pictures are accurate and we loved having the hot tub in our room-no need to freeze getting to and from in the chilly 23 degrees spring weather. We are already thinking of coming back in the summer and will definitely stay again!

Yelp
This cute little cabin was just as advertised. We stayed in the Mustang Canyon cabin and it was very clean and had a cute western decor theme. There is a king size bed with very nice bedding, a TV, couch, kitchen (with mini fridge, sink, and microwave), bathroom with double headed shower, and hot tub. The cabin had a nice view of the mountains, but it is surrounded by other cabins and houses. It is literally minutes from both downtown Estes Park and the RMNP. The owner was very sweet and helpful. She even put muffins, orange juice, and yogurt in our room so we could sleep in on our first day and not have to go find breakfast. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Yelp
We had a very nice stay at Mountain Shadows Resort, mostly due to the extremely nice host, Amber. Our cabin was exceptionally clean and the property is well situated outside the crowded downtown but very convenient to the entrance to the National Park and a cute market. They had all the necessities. We did experience a problem with the internet that was no fault of the host and they worked diligently to address it. Our bed was comfortable, special requests were accommodated, and the room has an AC (we needed it!) Our cabin had a little porch with a dining area that came in handy. The kitchenette was also a nice addition. I'd read there was a problem with bad chlorine smells in the room hot tub, but the owners have changed to a natural filtration and we did not smell anything. Overall, should we return to Estes Park, we would stay here again.

Yelp
The staff was nice and everything was as described on their website. My huge issue with the room was the black mold. Because there are hot tubs in the room the moisture needs to be taken care of. The windows sills had thick black mold and when we told the owners they were not very concerned. It wouldn't have taken a whole lot to wipe them down with some cleaner/killer to help that out.

Yelp
An absolute MUST! If you are visiting you should stay here, we've been to Estes many times and this by far is the best place we have stayed at! The owners are delightful and you cannot beat the views (and it's so relaxing to have that home away from home feeling!) we will be back and if you're looking for a great time (and an experience of a lifetime) stay here!

Yelp
Nice little cabins perfect for a romantic getaway. The rooms are nice and the hot tub in the room is great. My wife and I go as often as possible

Yelp
This place was great. Convenient to downtown Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The host took great care of us. Muffins and juice in the room were a nice touch. We will be back to Mountain Shadows!

Yelp
The wife and I, along with our dog, choose this place at the last minute, and came away from the weekend experience without regrets. From the beautiful mountain town of Estes Park to the quiet locale of Shadow Mountain Resort, there was nothing for us to complain about on this weekend getaway. We stayed in the Enchanted Cottage room for 2 nights. On entering the place we were greeted with a clean space that was decorated with care. It's cozy, but roomy enough to fit the two us for a quiet weekend. We enjoyed the quiet, cool mornings out on the small porch to our cabin. At night we sat in the indoor, private, hot tub to relax and unwind our weary bodies from a day of site seeing and strolls around the lake that is in town. Being towards the end of March, there isn't much to do as many locations are operating on winter hours. But we didn't mind. We wanted a quiet, relaxing weekend and Shadow Mountain Resort gave us just what we needed. As for our dog, she loved being with us to see and smell all that quiet mountain living has to offer. The owners and the cabin are very pet friendly, so this factored into our choosing of this place. And if you're into wild life, we saw plenty such as elk, mule deer and wild turkeys.
