Super friendly staff. I liked the Hoppy Hiker. The pizza is good, and you can enjoy it in a patio gondola with your own bluetooth tunes playing. We stopped on a bike ride down the river, you should check it out as well. A mid day beer always makes the day better!

Google
Great little spot in Steamboat for beer and pizza! They've got a few long tables, bar, tables in old gondolas, and out door seating. Dogs allowed outdoors only. Their known for the wood fired pizza which was absolutely amazing. We had gotten the spicy salami Calabrese with Calabrian chilis which is a must try. The beer too, Snow Globe Sour was just a perfect match.

Google
Ordered some food to-go on the way through town. Very disappointed in the portion sizes. $60 for a mushroom pizza, “char-grilled vegetable salad”, and the beer cheese and bread. Pizza had almost no cheese, salad was almost entirely cheap greens, and beer cheese was watery and bread portion was abysmal. Would not recommend.

Martina Bright

Google
Absolutely love this place!!! Their outdoor gondola seating was unique and very fun (and a saving grace for me as an overstimulated autistic person!). The staff were fantastic. The beers delicious! Great food as well! 12/10 would recommend 😁

Google
The quality of the food and beer here can’t be compared! We stop by once a year when we visit! Fresh ingredients! Always have a new sour to try. Have to get the skillet cookie a la mode! My kids love the training wheels!

Google
This place was great! Beer, food, service and atmosphere was great! We tried four different beers and all were excellent! Had the garlic knots and the Rancher Pizza....both very fresh and good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great decor and very comfortable. Very positive experience!

Sam Pawlak

Google
Overpriced for portion sizes. 5 garlic bites about the size of your thumb (smaller is more accurate) for 12 dollars which breaks down to roughly $2.40 per roll. 22 dollars for a twelve inch pizza meanwhile right next door an 18 inch was 25$. Also toppings were pretty scarce as pepperoni was almost nonexistent and barely any arugula on the pizza as well. Caprese was tomato wedges and barely any balsamic vinaigrette with incredibly small portions. Salad was served on a metal tray and looks like it was just thrown on there. Flavor wise it was okay but not worth the price. Wanna blow over a 100$ easily? Come here.

Google
Great spot to grab a good beer and a bite. We just had a delicious pear salad and some garlic rolls. We enjoyed them both. The seltzer water they made was very good. My wife liked the IPA

Yelp
Oh my god... so much to stay. The food was so bomb, I got the wheelie and was able to do wheelies in my bike afterwards I think it's magical. The bartender was so sexy, like he was GIVING. (I think his name was Jacob) . But then he ran for like two steps and may have done a little skip. It gave me the ick but he could still get it. The other server (Addison i think it was) did a great job except he wouldn't let me Clip my keys to his pants for a third time, I took it really personally. Overall a good experience, I just truly deep down in my head wish the bartender wouldn't have ever ran. It took a lot away from my wonderful food and drink experience. I was here at 2:04 on June 15th, 2024. Would highly recommend, but if the bartender looks like he's about to move fast look elsewhere that's my only recommendation. Oh and get the passionate pedal, it tickles my fancy every time. With love, Chris

Yelp
Great pizza and great beer Gets really crowded at trivia time so come early Perfect for an after ski HH

Trish A.

Yelp
I went here because of the reviews. The beers were good. I had the Summer heat ginger wheat (my favorite), Peruvian Pul, passionate pedal and prickly pedal. I had the fig & pig pizza. It was delicious. Great reviews, I would come back.

Kayla C.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and seating options for larger groups. We loved the patio however our waitress never checked on us and we had to repeatedly flag down other people for service. It took over 20 minutes after asking to receive our check. The beers were all very cold, tasty, and as described. We would've gotten food had the service been better. We have been here multiple times and were shocked at the service this afternoon.

Monika K.

Yelp
Excellent beer selection, amazing wood fired pizza, fun atmosphere. We go here as often as we are able!

Nikki S.

Yelp
Such a great place to relax downtown! Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. You sit yourself and look at the menu on your phone. A server came to help us quickly and both drinks and food came out fast. I'm not a huge beer drinker, so I was happy with the other choices they had. I got some cherry cider which was delicious. Not too sweet and not too dry. We shared the funghi pizza, which was a thin chewy crust. It had a good amount of char on the bottom which we really enjoyed. We have a kid that never finishes anything and he devoured the mac and cheese! Highly recommend if you are looking for a casual place to reset while downtown.

Wendy M.

Yelp
Mountain Tap Brewery was fabulous. Who doesn't love pizza? And when it's made with locally sourced ingredients and wood fired - I mean, really, what's not to like? We weren't even hungry - that should say it all. We inhaled two pizzas, lol. So. Very. Good. I'm pretty sure any pie will be great, but if you're curious about our choices, we opted for the Shepherd and the Calabrese. The Spanish baked goat cheese with flatbread was also amazing and exactly the appetizer that paved the way for more food, lol. I'm fairly sure you can order anything and be a happy camper. Super cute place. Great waitstaff. Five stars easy.

Gina K.

Yelp
Wow! A popular place off the main strip and right next to the river so perfect location to stop for beer or lunch if your doing any river water actives. We came with our dog and they allow dogs in the patio just not inside even though the doors were open. Dispute having umbrellas at the tables there wasn't shade other than at the tables. They have another small area you can stand but it doesn't have any shade. We just grabbed a few beers which were good. We had already eaten so, we didn't get any food but the pizza looked delicious (the table next to us got it).

Trina L.

Yelp
We were lucky to walk in and get a table right away. The male server was friendly and efficient. Our group ordered four pizzas: elk sausage & mushrooms, sausage, capra verde, and another one. My companions enjoyed the salad they shared. The brewery has a large selection of beers to choose from. We all enjoyed our selections. It was a fun atmosphere on a snowy evening. We recommend and would consider returning on our next trip to Steamboat. Thank you!

Jeff L.

Yelp
The beer was good as was the food. The option to sit inside or outside was nice. It was very due busy to the farmer's market and a Mustang car show going on outside. We sat at the bar and while the service wasn't great, it was adequate for the number of drinks the bartender had to get for the waiters and waitresses.

Paul S.

Yelp
What can I say about this place. Great vibes, fantastic beer, friendly wait staff, but an overpriced sausage platter. Next time you craving sausage ;) don't come here

Joey W.

Yelp
Passionate pedal - passion fruit does not come through. It tastes just like a light beer. Summer heat ginger wheat - ginger comes through. It's light and wheaty. Mountain macaroon - tastes like bitter chocolate and coconut. It's heavy and smooth and one of our favorites. Popcorn - the spicy chili and paprika comes through with a hint of garlic and cheese. Garlic roll - could be a little more baked because the inside was doughy. The marinara was solid.

Tasha M.

Yelp
It was our first time visiting town, and we had to check out the local brewery. They also had food, which was a bonus for us to get a snack before we got dinner later that night. We wish we didn't have dinner reservations because the pizza smelled so good, and we wanted to order more food from there. We opted for the popcorn because we read that it was amazing. We had the perfect amount for the two of us to share while drinking our beers. We enjoyed the popcorn seasonings, which gave it a different flavor. I would get it again it is a great snack to have while socializing, but I can't wait to go back and try the pizza.

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
Still my favorite pizza at the boat. We grabbed a seat at the bar after riding and I started with a local cider. It was dry hopped lemongrass cider. Not too sweet; very refreshing. I ordered a margherita pizza and my husband got the calabrese and Calabrian chili. The cozy wood fired pizza oven was perfect on a cold, snowy day. The pizza was quick and cooked just right. We couldn't finish our pizza but we're craving some fresh veggies so we ordered a small chaser to share and it was just the right amount of dressing tossed with the fresh lettuce and arugula. We split a flight of beer for dessert so that we could sample some of the unique beer flavors. From a Belgian farmhouse peche to a robust barrel aged Porter; they were all delicious. We chatted with another couple at the bar and enjoyed a leisurely Post ride dinner.

Allison T.

Yelp
Such a great spot! My friends and I stopped through the town while camping and decided to stop for a beer. There was a patio that was dog friendly, and they brought out water for the dogs. All the beers work great and all of the food looked delicious. The service was fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend if you're coming through!

Dara L.

Yelp
Score! Best brewery in town. Ordered a flight to get a little sample of the many beers they offer. Each and every one of the was outstanding. Team was very kind and welcoming.

Yelp
We were out walking along the Yampa hiking trail along the Yampa River. We were interring some place to get a nice taste of Steamboat. Central Park Liquor staff recommended Mountain Tap Brewery. So we noticed it on our hike and stopped in. It ambiance as we headed to it were old gondolas. They were placed in front court for a party of 4 to sit in and enjoy their libation and/or food or sit around whiskey barrels with propane heaters, also for up to 4 people. Entering the brewery it was rich in Colorado and Steamboat decorations and we were greeted by a friendly staff that made you feel so welcomed. We made some decisions on our libation and asked if we could sit in the court around the whiskey barrel and if they could turn the heat on; which they happily did. This location definitely was nostalgic and modern. Very nice and cozy place with well trained staff that seemed to enjoy themselves working. If in Steamboat a must visit on my list.

Gina A.

Yelp
This is a fun place near the river to stop off for a snack after walking or shopping. The beers were decent, not my favorite but they had a decent variety. The arugula dad was good and was good serving size, however the raspberry vinaigrette needed some work. I really like the combination flavors and the almonds in top worked well. The pizza was interesting. I liked the flavor combinations with the arugula and prosciutto, however there was a bit too much of the balsamic. The crust had such a great texture but the bottom was a bit burned- darn it because that almost a slam dunk! I am not a big beer drinker so I wasn't crazy about the first one but the wharf beer got the spot.

Savanna N.

Yelp
Omg. I came in here full and not wanting to eat but are you a Yelp Elite if you don't check out the good eats?! They suckered me in to purchase more than a delicious beer. Can't say no to garlic knots. They had Banoffe Pie as a special dessert too. So obviously I got an appetizer and dessert. Now I'm sad I live so far away because my mouth is watering as I think of both of those. They humored me by giving me the dessert before the garlic treats but the savory breath paired well with my beer. Fun thing this brewery does is they have a board where you can buy a beer for a friend (or anyone, get creative) and they have 6 months to get it or it goes to a lucky patron! Someone named "me" bought a beer for "you". And guess what? I'm YOU! Haha so thank you Me for the beer and CHEERS! If you're looking for a fun local, warm and welcoming place with some wicked good eats and many amazing beer options, this is it! Hope to return soon, Prost!

Yelp
We arrived at 6:00 but there was not much of a wait. It was a Thursday night so it was loud with trivia but it was still a fun atmosphere! We ordered the mushroom pizza and it was good, it had a unique flavor that was pleasing to my palette. The service was great especially considering the amount of people in this establishment. The atmosphere was so much fun! We had a really good time and I would go back again!

Brenda G.

Yelp
A group of friends and I had dinner inside the gondolas and really enjoyed the experience. -My friend made a reservation in advance for the gondolas and there was around a $100 minimum per gondola. -We were warm enough inside the gondolas as they have small heaters but if you tend to always be cold def recommend a thick sweater. -We ordered a couple pizzas, a bottle of wine and tiramisu to meet the minimum. Overall enjoyed the food and dining inside the Gondola was very cool!

Michael Y.

Yelp
The Current IPA was very good and recommended the garlic bits. On Tuesday night $1 of each beer sold goes to charity.

David K.

Yelp
Went there on 6/19/21. We got there a few minutes after they opened and were able to get a seat at the bar top. (This was the first time since 2019 we sat at a bar top.) it felt so regular. They have a good selection of beers from light to dark. Nothing special but all good. We tried a the brown, saison, lager, golden ale, passion fruit wheat and the session ipa. All good stuff. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive. Huge patio. With a lot of community tables. Very open area. They are dog friendly. They do serve food, looks like mostly pizzas. Will def be back. Cheers!

Andrea S.

Yelp
I didn't try any beer but I did appreciate their good selection of nonalcoholic beverages! The wood fired pizza and shishito peppers were awesome! Perfectly cooked pizza that didn't get burnt (like so many wood fired pizza) and the shishito peppers had a great slightly sweet sauce. Staff were pleasant but not the most attentive so everything took quite awhile. The seating situation was a bit odd too so there was a lot of tables taken up by 2 seaters (they do communal inside but not outside) and they only let dogs at certain tables so we had to wait a good while.

Colin M.

Yelp
Lively atmosphere, attentive service, good food and a large selection of craft beers, wine, cider, and soft drinks. The location on Yampa Street next to the river is a bonus as is the huge dog-friendly outdoor space. One of the nicest brewery restaurants we've been to anywhere.

Corey S.

Yelp
Came here while I was waiting on my bike repair. This place was great! I got their dark beer, that tasted amazing and with a hint of coconut. The waitress was super friendly, quick and the outdoor section was nice to sit in. 10/10 recommend this place!

Gabrielle B.

Yelp
This is such a great little brewery! I just came for the beer, but the pizza also looked mouthwatering. I got the chasing sunsets beer which was so light and flavorful! There's lots of beautiful art and natural light inside and they have cute ski lift chairs too outside.

Lynette S.

Yelp
Came to eat lunch and have some drinks after skiing. All staff is super friendly. We had a good time. The food is good. The favorite was the French onion rolls. Yumminess! I wanted to sit outside in the gondola but unfortunately, reservations are needed for that. Good place to visit for a fun time out.

Myki H.

Yelp
Fun taproom in Steamboat Springs. Good beer and service. Food was really good- pizza delicious but the popcorn was out of this world!!

Paul D.

Yelp
Great beer. Good atmosphere. The downside is no food. Liked the staff. Dogs are permitted. Will Definitely go back.

Ed H.

Yelp
We thought this brewery looked great and seemed popular. There was only one table outside so we sat. We tried to order at the bar, but they said you had to go through a waiter. We waited and waited for over 30 minutes. Finally we caught the eye of the waitress and she said that they wouldn't serve the table we were sitting at. No sign, no info at all. Very disappointing. Will NOT return or recommend.

Courtney C.

Yelp
It wasn't bad. The beer was solid and the red pizza with fennel was excellent, but we also got the carbonara pizza, which had undercooked & inedible pancetta, and the elk bolognese which was also gross. The gnocchi tasted frozen and hard. Odd choice for a red sauce. The servers were nice but took soooo long to check in, we had to ask for water, napkins, utensils, the check. No one really ever came by and it took over 2 hours to just get a few apps.

Shawn S.

Yelp
Love this place. Staff is great, food is perfect for eating with beer. Beer is yummy. Try the popcorn! One of our favorites. Thanks Teresa for the great service and personal interaction! Patio is dog friendly!

Scott K.

Yelp
Enjoyed a most memorable and unique dining experience inside one of the renovated gondolas on the patio. It included a heater and Bluetooth speaker which was much enjoyed on a 15 degree night in Steamboat Springs. Great beer selection accompanying creative pizzas with crispy thin crusts and interesting mélange of toppings. Very friendly customer service by our waitress. Snow began to fall capping off a night we'll never forget.

Jeanne M.

Yelp
Yummy, yummy I got love in my tummy and I feel like loving MountainTap! Great service because of teamwork but I loved our guy. I wish that I could remember his name but I can't... family name... he was good looking from another state ;-)

Sarah P.

Yelp
Mountain Tap catered our wedding and we could not have been happier with how they did! First off - their set up is absolutely adorable! They served two rounds of appetizers, one before our ceremony and one for happy hour after. Then served a pizza buffet for dinner. I was nervous with serving pizza at my wedding that it would look cheap or cheesy. That could not have been farther from the truth! The pizza was a HIT! It looked so professional and the artisan style of their pizza is classy and casual all at the same time. Their service was so friendly and fast! The apps and pizza were SOOO good! They even had a vegan pizza that many non vegans didn't even realize it was vegan! Absolute 10/10 review. I would use them for any event I have in the future.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Where to start? Don't let the fancy pizza oven fool you, the pizzas are mediocre and skimpy. The service is chaotic - this is a big place and the servers don't have sections so all are running around like headless chickens. Not to mention, most of them are drunk. The energy is negative as I witnessed the staff and management yelling at each other and talking behind each others backs. Many of the servers are young, so I get that, but the negative atmosphere obviously originates from management. There are so many exceptional breweries and restaurants in Steamboat - don't waste your money or time here!

Erin P.

Yelp
Everything we had was delicious and our server Nic was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Jay Z.

Yelp
While exploring steamboat I found this place. I decided that it looked inviting and stopped in to have a brew and a bite to eat. I had a cider which was thirst quenching ... while drinking some cider I explored the menu and ordered the brat plate... the brat was delish and spicy. I also decided after seeing one of there hand tossed pizzas to get one to go. I would suggest stopping by if you are in Steamboat to try this place out.

Carly W.

Yelp
Y'all! Mountain Tap Brewery has got a great thing going on! The first stop we made as a group on our Steamboat Springs Friends Staycation was to Mountain Tap Brewery and it def didn't disappoint! The Location/Atmosphere: This brewery is tucked back amongst various shops and restaurants along Yampa Street in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. They feature a large outdoor patio space, huge roll-up doors to allow the gorgeous sunny weather in, and both bar seating and community seating throughout the space. The Brews: The Zwickel, Passionate Pedal, Current IPA, and Mountain Macaroon were all big hits! The Passionate Pedal and Mountain Macaroon were my brews of choice. The Passionate Pedal is an unfiltered wheat beer featuring passion fruit for a bright, tart, and citrus twist. This is definitely a great sessionable brew for those sunnier post-adventure patio days. Mountain Macaroon is a brown ale featuring chocolate malt and coconut. When paired with the appropriate dessert choice (mentioned later) those notes really stand out. The Eats: Aside from having a solid line-up of brews they also feature a food menu as well! Score! We chose to split both the Rancher and Calabrese pizzas, and multiple Campfire S'Mores. Allow me to recommend paring the Mountain Macaroon with the Campfire S'More. You won't be disappointed! At our server's suggestion several of us ordered this combo and it was spot on! The Service: Speaking of our server - she was terrific! She made some wonderful recommendations, helped me out with some merch, and even gave me some fun facts about the brewery. Did you know the pizza oven was actually shipped in from Italy? Now you do! Plus, it's gorgeous! Mountain Tap Brewery was a great first stop on our brewventure through Steamboat Springs. Next time I'm in Steamboat Springs I'll be back for sure!

Lauren S.

Yelp
I heard this was the best pizza in town. I haven't tried any others so I guess I can't say with certainty, but it was damn good and I can't wait to come back. Their outdoor seating in gondolas is super cute. I opted for take out and my pizza was ready very quickly. Got the Foraggio and added spicy salami, because, why not. Next time I'm getting the same thing AND taking out some beer too.

Ashley P.

Yelp
Beers here were overall good! I especially liked the brut fruit and the rum barrel aged beer. Only suggestion is to add a sour or two to the menu for some variety. We came right after lunch time and this place was busy! Definitely a good sign. We only had to wait for about 15 minutes though, so not bad at all. They had plenty of servers working and the beers came out fast! Definitely recommend making a stop here if you're in town!

Sarah B.

Yelp
Another go to in steamboat. We love this place and is perfect for families. We booked the gondolas this time which was a fun treat. A little cold but still enjoyable. Staff is always a pleasure, beer is great and food delicious. And any place where my kids love the food is a must. Looking forward to coming back in the spring.

Caitlyn C.

Yelp
My brother and I came here to enjoy a couple of beers after a long day of skiing. The restaurant was at 25% capacity but despite us not making a reservation we were able to be seated within 15 minutes. Everyone was required to wear a mask and the brewery had a great paper ordering system that only signaled the waiter when you wanted to order more food or drinks limiting the contact at your table. I feel extremely safe given their covid precautions. For beer we got the passionate pedal, chasing sunset, and howelsen haze IPA. The passionate pedal was my personal favorite a gave a unique passion fruit flavor in a wheat beer! This brewery is our favorite beer in steamboat and we will definitely be back during our next visit.

Tammy K.

Yelp
Came here after arriving in Steamboat and enjoyed sampling beers on the patio. Great selection and really enjoyed the dark beers! MacaRUM (also a rum lover) and we both liked Mountain Macroon, Chasing Sunset and Paddlers Porter. We will be back! Pizzas and popcorn smelled amazing, but we were saving room for dinner.

Claire W.

Yelp
The White Out Pizza was great! Beer was next level good. The location is very sweet, right on the Yampa River. Service was fast and friendly!!

Pam J.

Yelp
Tasty beers, good location and wood fired pizza. What's not to love? Nothing! It's a great spot to relax and enjoy craft beers and snack. They also serve some ciders and wine if you aren't into beers

Gisele X.

Yelp
My visit to Mountain Tap Brewery on June 16 was okay. I will say that I enjoyed the layout of the dining area - open air dining is always divine! And the picnic style benches were casual but nicely made and were comfortable. The beer was tasty and I especially enjoyed the Passionate Pedal. It is great that they offer smaller beer glasses so that you can try a trio or more and not get too tipsy or feel badly for wasting your beer if you didn't enjoy it too much. The service was attentive, but for some reason I was not keen on the server assigned to me. He wasn't knowledgeable about the beers or the food. If you are serving beer at a brewery, you really need to have a good idea how to describe the beers on tap. I believe a brewery owner is doing a disservice to their staff and customers if they aren't having the servers sample the beers and food until they have tried each one. When I fussed and finally received a different server, my experience improved. Emily understood the menu and beers. And it was cool to hear her share a little about moving to Colorado. Emily provided great service. I tried the Calabrese pizza and it did provide a lot of kick. I had asked for minimal peppers, but the pizza arrived with more than a dozen. I took them off and the flavor didn't kill me, but the spicy salami was potent! Thankfully I wasn't cursing my choice over the next two days in undeveloped BLM land. In sum, the ambiance is good, the food is tasty and the beer ice cold and delicious. A nice walk to the Yampa River is recommended, it's straight across the street. Parking was a bit difficult, I had to wait for a space to free up, but it was free even if it was limited time parking. If you are in Steamboat, you shouldn't be let down if you stop in here.

Carly M.

Yelp
Don't recommend MTB. When we came in, the staff were rude and acted like we inconvenienced them by being there. We waited about 15 mins for a table, and when we were sat, our server seemed drunk. It took her 10 minutes to bring us our beers, and when they got to us, they were warm. We watched servers drink at the bar while our food sat in the window waiting to come out to us. Of course, when the food did come, it was cold. The food is alright I guess, but the pizza is definitely mediocre at best. Staff is confusing, as we had about 3 different people take our order, bring our food, and check on us. Honestly, just go to Storm Peak Brewery instead. Their beer is a lot better; No food there, but there's plenty of wonderful places in town for better food than this (and cheaper.)

Megan M.

Yelp
This place has it all. Great food and beer and perfect location (right in downtown at the north end of the river). Favorite beers were Summer Haze and Mountain Macaroon. We expected good beer - what we didn't expect was incredible food. We came here twice over our weekend and our favorite bites were the Farmer's Skillet (surprisingly really really good), Calabrese pizza, and a seasonal peach pizza. Kids loved Wheelie (Mac and cheese) and the pizza. Finally we tried the peach crisp which you cannot leave without getting. Check this place out. It's a good option!!
