Mountain Toad Brewing

Mountain Toad is in a great location right in Golden. You should know there isn't a lot of parking on site, but there is street parking around and it is easy to get to on foot. Inside there is a good amount of room to sit, relax and enjoy a beer. Outside, there is a great space with picnic tables and umbrellas to avoid the sunlight. On tap there is lots of choice, but I would go for either the Hazy, or the Pilsner. Those were both refreshing and easy to drink. Food truck seem to visit regularly, when I arrived there was a BBQ one setting up, but I didn't have time to eat as I had time for just a beer. I would certainly go back to visit if I wad in Golden again.

Loved their blueberry one service is great. They had a great outdoor sitting area with plenty of shade a food truck very easy to get to love the atmosphere the artwork that was for sale. Plenty of selection a beer not long line. The prices were reasonable. You’ll have a little bit of a hard time with parking in the area as it is for all of Golden anymore

Visited Mountain Toad after a friend recommended it to me. Great selection of unique brews, fantastic outdoor seating both in the sun and shade. Umbrellas available on the patio made for an enjoyable afternoon after a long hike. Picked up a bag of chips from the denver chip co which paired perfectly with my brew. Stop in and support this great brewery!

Quick stop for beers and it was great. Friendly service, chill outdoor area, and easy street parking. You can also park at the bank across the street after hours.

Honestly one of the best beers in town. I brew my own beer and these guys really know what they’re doing. The vibe is great too, perfect spot to bring your laptop and get some work done or just chill out and pregame. If you like west cost beers, I highly recommend Mt. Zion!

Great location. The beer is ok but not special. I have been here probably 6-8 times. All of the beer tenders are not friendly or apparently happy. No one seems happy to take my money. Total bummer! They ask what you want, pour it and want you to move on. No friendly words or smiles. Not once! Maybe after this review someone will make a change. I will not be going back.

At first glance it’s a little hole in the wall….then we walked in the door. Beer was on point. Descriptions form bartenders were spot on. We got exactly what we wanted. Perfect place to stop and refresh after a day tubing on Clear Creek.

Craft brewery in Golden . Yes there are other folks that make great beer here other than Coors. Stop in and try their Tasmanian pepper berry saison. It has a nice character to it. If you like your IPAs, try their Stratacaster. The weather will eventually get warmer around here, so stop in for a few tastes. Food trucks on hand . Limited parking on site.. but parking free lot near by.

Stopped here coming down out of the Rockies and back to Denver for the night. It's in a seemingly charming neighborhood and was easy to find from the freeway. The bartenders were very friendly and chatty. We talked about their beer selection and I sampled enough that my husband drove the rest of the way into Denver. The space is pleasant and seemed to be a good size. It wasn't particularly busy when we stopped in on a Saturday night, but the folks that were there were chatty and friendly to the out-of-towners. I look forward to going back when we're in the area and we got a t-shirt!

We were on a Bachelorette party and stopped in here on our way down from the mountain. It's really cool. Great spot, clean on the inside, great atmosphere. And the beers were fantastic. Some really cool unique ones. That's all you need to know.

Came in late on a Tuesday afternoon. Maybe 20-25 people here. Service excellent including a couple of tasters to dial in on right beer. We selected the Lotus IPA and Blueberry Kolsch. Great, low key vibe, like the outdoor patio and pizza food truck. Solid experience.

Neat little place. We loved that they had a food truck! The outside patio is really enjoyable here. The staff are very friendly! Oh and the beer is great too! It's busy for a reason!

Love this brewery. It's hidden gem. Good brews great service and a variety of bar food choices. We were starving and this was our first visit. Great atmosphere.

This is a quaint and chill place with food trucks. I went during the day but I imagine it would be really cute at night. Great place to sit down and play some cards.

Spacious cool brewery in Golden with a very nice patio area. There is always a food truck out back as well. They don't have any other drink options besides one kombucha flavor. Very dog friendly and shaded areas. Good service as well.

We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon on the way to the mountains. The taproom wasn't super busy and we got our pints quickly. I got an orange gose that was good and we also got several tasters to try. My favorite was the Winter Palace, a bourbon barrel stout which checks in at 11% ABV. I also really liked the Totally Hazed NEIPA. The servers were friendly and the playlist was lit with artists such as Portishead and Radiohead. I'll definitely stop by here again.

I have spent a lot of Golden but only recently visited Mountain Toad, after which I was sure disappointed that I had never visited before! Right on Washington Ave in Downtown Golden, it's a cute little building with a few parking spots in front and plenty of street parking nearby. The bartender was super nice, and gave us some samples before deciding on what we wanted. I loved the variety of beer options, and really enjoyed the Blueberry Kölsch that I ordered. My boyfriend really enjoyed his beer as well. There's plenty of seating inside, and a nice patio outdoors. On a weeknight, it was quiet enough inside that it looked like some were studying or working. This is a great spot to go with a group to hang out. From the fliers inside, it looked like they have lots of trivia and other events going on - all of which I would join if I lived closer or was in the area again during one! You should definitely check this place out if in Golden.

4.5 stars. I've been visiting Golden a lot more these days, and it's such a charming place. I'm totally in love, and breweries like Mountain Toad are a huge part of that. Came here with a friend who lives in Golden. We ordered beers at the main bounter and joined everyone else on the outdoor patio. Spacious, dog-friendly, and woohoo there was a food truck! I'm enamored with the Hazy Melon IPA they had at the time of my visit. Looking at their website, there are so many interesting flavors like pear, sage, lavender, passionfruit, blueberry, etc. I'm a huge IPA drinker, but I'll branch out and explore other beers once in awhile. There's trivia nights and such. Check out their website or social media. Solid brewery overall.

Really enjoyed the patio -- ample seating and shade. Delicious ginger kombucha and liked the prickly pear gose as well.

Cool little brewery. Love the artwork. They had outdoor seating but it was raining hard so everyone hunkered down inside and it got pretty crowded. Good beer selection. Golden lotus was pretty tasty.

Mountain Toad Brewing. Already sold on the name alone and the giant murals of toads drinking beer. Can I adopt said toad as a house pet?! Really solid brewery in the heart of Golden. Small taproom, spacious patio, and all the beers I've sampled after two visits have been tasty. Specifically the Golden Lotus (Hazy Pale) and Mt. Zion (Flagship IPA). This was one of my last stops prior to COVID-19. It was interesting to see the change this past weekend. The taproom has implemented updates to keep their tables socially distanced, requiring folks to wear facial coverings until seated, and tons of hand sanitizer all around. The patio is the real seller here. Whether a hot afternoon or a cool summer night. I'd assume they typically have food trucks and/or live music if it weren't for the current environment. However, the beers stand alone and are worth venturing to the brewery regardless. Cheggitout!

This was one of my favorite beer stops. It wasn't the largest brewery, they did have nice outside seating, cool ass view with the toad. They had a food truck on hand. Looks like the brewery originated in someone's backyard. Which always leads to a good story. The beers that I had were superb. Felt like they had a lot of beers to choose from. The staff was friendly and easy to ask questions. They have a beeriodoc table for crying out loud. Great stop, our first stop in Golden and maybe my favorite.

Mountain Toad Brewing has been on my must see list for a hot minute. So when I found myself in Golden, post Yelp event, heading over to check out their DudeTOADerfest was clearly the only option I had. So away I went with my brewery bestie, Kristin M. SPACE/ATMOSPHERE: I love it! The taproom its self is on the smaller side, but they feature an impressive patio space. The tap listing is reminiscent of a table of elements. Most of the seating, both inside and out, is community style so go on and make some new friends! SIPS: I'll start this by divulging that I am a sucker for ANYTHING hibiscus! So naturally I had to sample the Hibiscus Kolsch. I'm not the biggest kolsch fan, but this one was easily one of my favorites! The hibiscus added a subtle tartness to the brew. I also sipped on the Alpine Mine Grisette. I greatly enjoyed both! SUSTENANCE: While they don't serve up eats of their own they do host a variety of food trucks on the above mentioned patio. This particular evening the hosted two trucks - the names of which escape me now. They host a variety of food trucks - check out their website for the full calendar! SERVICE: The staff was clearly swamped. Yet they made ample time to offer up splashes of the various brews. Mountain Toad Brewing was def a great way to wrap up our evening in Golden. Plus, they sure throw one heck of a party! If you can't make it up beforehand, DudeTOADerfest might just be the perfect excuse to check out this fun little brewery! While other brewpubs are bigger and flashier, gotta say that Mountain Toad in Golden is my all time favorite. Outstanding beers most of all, but a fun neighborhood vibe in my beautiful hometown of Golden. Great place to stop after a bike ride, a sunny afternoon, on the way home from skiing, or any other time you just want to chill with friends! Always a stellar IPA selection - I had the Fermi IPA.

Chill spot for beer! They had so many pups hanging around and a lot of options for beer. They had a cool outdoor area too on the side. It's been a while since my last visit (I was in town and enjoying the freezing weather). But I'm hoping they've created more beers since then.

Great brewery in Downtown Golden. Super close to hiking trails and cute little shops. Staff was super friendly and very welcoming. They have tons of outdoor seating as well!

Pretty good beers and kombucha. But over priced. They put a lot of the beers with even low alcohol in 10 ounces glasses. So for 7 bucks. 8 after tip , a 10 punch kolsh is just over charging. But it's a cool atmosphere. Cool music. Friendly.

I was stoked to check out this brewery while visiting Golden for the day. It is very close to the main drag, just a couple blocks walk. Right away I appreciated the beeriodic table, which organized the available beers by style. I gravitate towards the darker brews so it made my job easier to pick my drafts. There is a big outdoor seating area and a smaller indoor area. More importantly, there are some board games to borrow! I am always done for a pint and a game. The beers are good here, as is the company. Better make sure to check out Mountain Toad for yourself!

Second time coming here, good beer and friendly staff. Great location, within walking distance to Main Street of Golden. They also have board games/cards to play which is awesome. All good beer and merch too.

Thought this brewery was super cute!! Loved the backyard patio with umbrellas. The guy pouring drinks was super nice and friendly. Also, out of the 10 or so breweries we went to throughout the weekend this was definitely my favorite. I really loved the Tasmanian Pepperberry Saison and the Paradise Pale Ale!

Mountain Toad is a really fun place to hang/go in Golden, CO! Their patio is secluded off to the side of their building and has tons of picnic tables for hanging out and enjoying some beers. Beer: we've had the white ranch wit and blueberry kolsch and have loved both! Very reasonably priced (prices comparable to other microbreweries in the Denver region). The other nice thing is that they frequently have food trucks. I've loved all of the food they've had thus far! Food trucks tend to be on the pricier side, but it's convenient to have a food option right there.

We liked the atmosphere outside a lot, Although I do thinj there should be atleast one more fire pit! The menu is fairly small, and I wish I knew that you could order things from the actual menu that were not listed on the beeriodic wall!

They have a fantastic selection of beers and kombucha. Selections vary, check the board or the menu. They gave plenty of variety for all tastes. Their Tasmanian Saison is wonderful as is their "Brutal Climb IPA." The staff are very helpful in explaining products. They also gave food trucks which rotate daily. Highly recommended.

What a great, chill atmosphere, like hanging out in your friend's backyard. Great beer to boot, and when we were there Basic Kneads pizza was also serving. The perfect post-hike refuel or just great place to catch up with friends.

This was one my favorite stops we made on our recent trip to Colorado. It's basically everything I want in a brewery- lots of good beer, cool art, friendly staff, outdoor seating complete with fire pit for colder days, dog friendly and a food truck. My favorite beer was the Mt Zion. I will be back next time I am in Golden!

It's been 5 years since my last review; it's time for an update! 50-60+ visits later, I can say it's been a local haunt for us. Sir and I love the beer, Mt. Zion IPA and the Extra Special Bitter (ESB, I think they changed the acronym to mean something else recently...) Are my favorites. Dog and Kid friendly, but there's usually neither later in the evening on weekends, but I must say the regulars (dogs) are always great. Awesome staff, always. They run fun events and even more importantly they are always running some new brew to share and it's always amazing. They have growlers and cans too, now. Board games and laughs are always welcome and they do have an assortment of games available as well. We've met new friends, gathered with old friends, reconciled differences and had some of the best times at the Toad. We'll continue to be loyal patrons as long as their doors are open. Cheers!

Let me start by saying this: you come to Mountain Toad, you get SERVED. Avery will make that very clear. (What up Avery.) I usually let my boyfriend pick my beer but I ordered a Blueberry Kolsh (on my own) and was not disappointed. When it was last call, Avery came out and took his clothes off (just kidding, my friend Jessica G. wishes). Ok so, I'm a little drunk. You can probably tell. But hey! Their product works. Come here though, it TOADALLY ROCKS

I've stopped into Mountain Toad twice now after hiking in Golden. Not only are the beers tasty, but there are plenty of them to choose from. I've tried the Biere De Mars, Lemon Zest Grissette, Kippstander Kolsch, and Pedal On! (pale ale). I've enjoyed every beer (all of which were the perfect refreshment after being out in the hot sun). As for the staff, they are everything you could ask for. Attentive, funny, and non-pretentious. They will make sure that your glass doesn't stay empty for very long. Indoor bar not your thing? Take a walk around back to their dog friendly yard, complete with a rotating food truck and multiple tables. I've indulged in the food from both trucks on my visits - tacos and BBQ - and they were both fantastic. When in Golden, be sure to pay Mountain Toad a visit.

Very cute place, beer is pretty decent. Dogs are allowed on the patio/beer garden area, which is a plus, and there is a food truck out there. Gets pretty crowded on the weekends.

Lots of delicious brews here. There is a cute patio area with warmers and a fire pit. While I was here they had a brick oven food truck and the pizzas coming out of there looked delicious! These beers are phenomenal though. I tried the black lemon saison, white ranch wit, kippstander kolsch and pandan porter. All were two thumbs up and so easy to drink!! Highly recommend this little brewery if you're in Golden. They know what they're doing here!!

Enjoyed an afternoon at this fantastic small brewery. Favorite was the Golsche and the Black Lemon Saison. Great vibe with cool artwork. Would love to go back for a food truck event. If you're visiting Golden take the time to walk a block past the creek to check it out.

Thank goodness our friends have good taste. After a Golden Gate Canyon State Park hike, my food goals were pulling us toward I-70 & Kipling, too far for my friends so they suggested Mountain Toad. What a choice! Ample outdoor seating, fur-friendly as seen by three three tired Golden Retrievers, meaty food truck, and great beer. Did I mention the Sunday guac-off too? Anyway, we settled on the Black Lemon Saison. Simply great flavor especially that finish

A Golden gem for sure! Mountain Toad is hands down one of my favorite breweries. The beer is delicious and has seasonal rotations, the outdoor seating is comfortable and inviting, and the staff are always great. You can't go wrong when visiting this cute joint.

Visiting from California and stumbled upon this brewery after Coors wouldn't let us in... great service and great beer. I got the Pedal On and it is scrumptious!
