Mountain View Bakery & Delicatessen Ltd

On our visit to Mountain View Bakery, we were treated to a wonderful array of breads and decided on a hummus wrap and some pastries. Each bite was a delight, showcasing the bakery’s commitment to freshness and flavor. The cozy seating area added to the experience, allowing us to comfortably enjoy our food amidst the bakery’s welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend for a tasty pause in your day!

I came in last week and had a cheese bun sandwich - literally mouth watering . But the best part of this place was the service by this kind girl named Sahara. She made the experience memorable and the sandwich was great too. I travel often for work - and don’t often experience customer service as good as this. She was kind and attentive and give this place a 10/10 for service. Thank you mountain view bakery !

Fantastic selection! delicious food. We came here after a hike HUNGRY so got coffees, sandwiches, soup, croissants, cheese cake. Literally to die for. The white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was phenomenal and the chai latte I don’t know if I’ll ever have a better one in my life. 12/10 thank you!

This bakery is great. It is rare to find homemade soups & sandwiches for lunch…resist the urge for fast food and hit MVB! Lots of amazing baked goods to choose from as well. Love this place!!

Amazing bakery in town, and it's known! Some of their stuff sell out before closing so make sure to get in as soon as you can. There's so much variety in baked goods and desserts but some of my favourites have to be the donuts (glazed & apple fritter). Guaranteed you won't just want one! They also have great sandwiches for lunch, and a variety of other savoury baked goods. Service is friendly and efficient.

The food is so yummy! I sugest to consume the cookie I am a cookie lover and the cookie is bussin so so good! I don’t sujest the Oreo brownie because it’s so sweet but I sujest the cookie YUMMY! I love food I added photos because it is so good this cafe place is so yummy I realy sujjest the consumption of food in the cofe shop. Indulge in the cofe shop and you get a happy stomach! :)

Wow! Wished we had a bakery like this where I live! We tried a piece of cheesecake and a cream puff pastry and both were amazing. The bread, sandwiches and donuts all look phenomenal also. Service was excellent and the tables and chairs were clean. Highly recommend if passing thru Port Alberni. Love!

I’ve noticed in other reviews people mention feeling like they were “interrupting something” or generally “unwelcome,” and I’d agree with that. The reason seems to be that this place is essentially run by the church but still serves the public, which creates a tension. When you open your doors to the community, there’s a responsibility to treat everyone equally and respectfully. Unfortunately, there are clear biases here — if not outright discrimination, then at least behavior that shows favoritism toward those who are part of their own circle. That may be acceptable in a strictly private or religious setting, but not when you’re serving the broader public.

Sooooo delicious. Donuts YUM, cheesecake? YUMM. The bread YUUUUMMM. Really delicious and VERY reasonably priced. Lots of seating, cute little place, nice staff. My reason for 4 stars was bc the iced latte just wasn't the greatest. *Just my opinion though* Definitely going back

Bomb is used to describe on of the fitters here. I agree. It's the bomb! It's called an apple bomb. I also got a bag of chocolate chip shortbread. The premises looks relatively new. Very inviting. Seating for maybe 15 people inside. It's a bakery/coffee shop/sandwich establishment. They have an assortment of stuff here. You'll have to check this out if you're out here in this neck of the woods. Friendly service. Recommended.

Mountain View Bakery offers great food and delicious baked goods--the quality is always excellent, and it's clear they take pride in their products. However, I've had a less-than-stellar experience with some of the younger staff, who came across as rude and unprofessional. A little more friendliness and professionalism would go a long way in improving the overall experience. The food is great, though!

Fresh bread, exquisite cakes with buttercream filling, Texas size glazed doughnuts, fresh pretzels and the world-renowned Nanaimo Bar. My family devoured the Nanaimo bars and doughnut. The glazing on the doughnut is old-school, crunchy in spots, soft in spots, and not too sweet. This on top of a very fluffy sphere - this will bring you back to eating a doughnut with coffee for your afternoon break. Unbeatable taste and texture. Coffee and sandwiches available in a sitdown area adjacent to the bakery area is super popular with locals and tourists alike. Friendly staff, clean premises, fresh baking. The most delicious stop in Port Alberni! Lots of street parking.

Really delicious baked goods and the iced coffee was perfect! Best coffee on our Vancouver island trip!

Great food and coffee. We stayed in Port Alberni for 9 days, missing only visit during that time ... when they were closed (Monday). Baked goods were all delicious and coffee was equally delish, far better than most coffee spots. Would highly recommend MVB 5

Wow that French macaroon from Mountain View bakery was one of the most awesome macaroons I've tasted in a while. We also ordered the fruit bread for Maureen. She just loves the fruit bread. It's like raisin bread but it's with pieces of cannied fruit. I think the reno in the shop is perfect. The display area with all the baked options on cake stands is just the thing. So today I asked the clerk if your Baba aka Grandma asked you to bring something delicious from the bakery what would you recommend? She suggested apple turnovers and cinnamon buns then as I am scanning the baking display saw these delicious poppyseed with white icing buns. My choice was made. We will try the buns after a day on the road. This is another place for breakfast or lunch , too.

Lovely staff, love the bread, but my favourite are the cream puffs. This is our go to spot after school for a yummy snack.

We had coffee and hot chocolate; but lots of folks were coming in for deli sandwiches to take away. Service at the bakery counter was steady... cake, scones, chipmunk bread to come again for... so good.

We stopped here after getting off the Francis Barkley, Lady Rose your. We were at the end of the day. Our goal was British style meat pies. While the pies were gone, we were not disappointed in the items we did purchase. Beef samosa, sausage roll and pasties style beef in a pie dough wrap. I heated them up for the next 2 mornings for breakfast....delicious. The seasoning in the Samosa was what we were looking for. The bakery looked wonderful but, we didn't indulge.

Delicious croissants and great service...a wonderful discovery enroute to Nanaimo Ferry Terminal from Tofino!

A great little bakery for on your way to or from Uke and Tofino. Scones are amazing and good sandwiches and soup.

Decent food, high price. Don't cut your wraps in half, guys. It makes them harder to eat. Food falls out everywhere...

OMG ... I love this place .. so many options to choose from .. I normally get desserts from here .. it's always on point you will never be disappointed.. also they customer service is really good and the staff is friendly .. you can set their and eat with a nice cup of tea as they have a variety of teas as well.

Came for lunch. Beautiful looking sandwiches ended up tasting just average, bland, no frills. Veggie calzone was bland with some raw dough inside - bleah! Desserts looked good, but after being so disappointed with lunch, we did not try.

Stopped here for lunch based on the few reviews we saw. It was outstanding. Service was top notch. Food was very good. We shared a spanokopita and a chicken samosa. They were displayed in a case and then you had them warmed up. The price was very good- about $7 for both items. The highlight though was to pick out dessert. The bakery case was unbelieveable. Pastries, cookies, bars, cheesecakes, creme puffs....you name a pastry and they had it. We bought a couple of mini creme puffs which were just right for a small dessert and then bought a granola bar cookie dipped in chocolate for later. It was so good! When all was said and done, we were out $11 Canadian and were very pleased.

I m from california. Great pastrami sandwich, one of the best i ever had . The creme puffs were just as good. Service was awesome

Excellent spot. More a bakery than a deli. Had chicken stew with cheese scone that was delicious.

I love coming back home to go to this place. The brownies and all the desserts are amazing. The coffee is the best. I would highly recommend this place to any friends wanting to go to a nice cafe and not always a starbucks or timmy's. I love this place more than starbucks and timmy's combined.
