Excellent small unpretentious property. Booked at the last minute for an unexpected stay. Wasn't expecting much based on the price, but we were pleasantly surprised. Rooms were plain but clean. Beds were comfortable enough, with plenty of pillows. The staff were very friendly, informative and helpful. Our check-in clerk (Ambi, I think?) even found me a phone charging plug in. The gentleman in the morning was also helpful when we accidentally left something behind. I gave it 4-stars because it is a very basic-needs accommodation, with minimal amenities. But, when it came to service, they are definitely 5-star. It would be a perfect hotel for someone looking for a clean, budget room with no frills.

We spent a night here and had a really comfortable stay. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet, which made it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere felt warm. The mountain view was absolutely gorgeous, especially in the morning, and was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.

This hotel is in a great location within walking distance of everything you'd need for a stay in Canmore. We stayed here for easy access to the Banff National Park as it was a lot cheaper than staying in the park itself. The room was big and had most amenities you'd expect from a hotel of this kind. The room came with a microwave but there was no cutlery available - perhaps this could be considered to improve guest experience. We had a room with a great mountain view, however, this side of the hotel is quite close to a train line but we did not find this to be too much of an issue. Free parking was appreciated. Overall, a great value hotel which we'd consider re-booking on a future trip.

I stayed here last night, and overall the experience was disappointing. The room had a mini fridge with some snacks, drinks, and chocolates, but there was no clear mention at check-in that these items were extra charges. They only had a small note on top of the fridge, which is easy to miss. Later, I found out they charge $3.50 for each small snack or water bottle — which feels like hidden pricing. Most hotels we’ve stayed at in the past usually have a paid snack or drink fridge outside the rooms, so it’s clear what’s included and what’s not, while anything inside the room is normally complimentary for guests. I wish they had explained this clearly when we checked in. It’s not about the price, but about transparency with guests.

What a place to stay. Amazing service, clean room / washrooms and one of the best views from the hotel you want. The room comes with tv with netflix in it ( just need to log in account and it will automatically log out on the day of check out) . Complementary coffee for coffee lovers and ….. Everything is at waking distance

Google
Overall a really nice and clean stay at Mountain View Inn. The room was spotless and the in-room coffee was such a nice touch. The only downsides were that the water pressure was a bit low and the full-size bed felt a little small for two people. Other than that, everything was great — cozy, comfortable, and a pleasant experience

Stay away from this hotel. To start it is old, facilities are terrible, staff is rude, price is extremely high for what it offers. But the worst part is yet to come. They charge you 100 dollars when you arrive, even if you was required to pay for the staying in advance. You read correctly. Not a hold on the cresit card like every other hotel on earth does. It is a CHARGE. Then when you leave, and you ask for a receipf of the refund on the credit card, thay ask you to eait because they have to “check the room” first. And this process take a loooooong time. The hotrl clearly assumes you are not an honest person. And everything is done in a way to preserv them from your bad intentions, but you are required to just “trust” they will refund you. Garbage. I do not travel to be treated this way. Please tale my advice. Stay away!

Google
Not terrible but for us the pictures and summary did not match up to our expectations. It is on a busy road, if you keep the window closed the room is boiling. Open the window and you hear the train. Bathroom really small. Parking 1st come 1st served. Beds were comfy. Towels were like sandpaper. What is it with Canadian motel toilet paper! Our room was large enough and had everything we needed. A short walk into town. I know the area is expensive but I feel we were charged hotel prices but got motel facilities.

Yelp
Clean, quiet hotel with a clean room and clean bathroom. Room includes table to eat at, TV, mini fridge and products to sanitize to avoid spread of viruses and bacteria etc. No complaints. I recommend this place.

Yelp
Price - Very good! Used my expedia points and was under $60 for 2 queen bed room. Location - not central, but there are lots of places walking distance. Cleanliness - Bathroom was good, carpets are old. If you come out to snowboard or ski, its a great price. You are not in the rooms all day. Late check out was no problem. Alot nicer than Rundle mtn lodge for same price

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights during our Banff trip last weekend. We were honestly a little nervous after reading reviews, but were pleasantly surprised! For the low price we paid, we weren't expecting anything fancy. The room doesn't have a fridge, couch, or maid service. But we had clean beds and a good sized bathroom, and enjoyed our stay. Staff is very friendly & the place itself is a cute little inn. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a clean, safe place to stay on a budget!

Yelp
We just arrived today after a long day and a long drive to find the toilet not working and the man working told us we would have to use a bucket to fill the back of it and we would get another room tomorrow or the toilet fixed. Not impressed with the room especially after seeing pictures of it before booking in which it looked much nicer, too tired to do anything tonight and they office closed soon after we arrived, may be finding another place to stay for our next night in Canmore.

Yelp
Nice quaint hotel. Friendly staff. Got a room with high ceiling and bay windoes. Very good value for the money. Free wi-fi.

Yelp
Can't beat the price. Okay, it's not a luxury resort, but it's clean, friendly, and the price is right. Very satisfied with what I received for the money. There is no on site restaurant and only tea and coffee service is included for breakfast. Easy free parking. Easy access to town centre and highway 1.

Yelp
I can take old and shabby but this place was dirty. The bathroom shower had hair as did one of our towels, I think the toilet stains were permanent. The carpet was dirty and there were stains on both comforters. The night stand was old and had cigarette burns all over it. We reported a back up in the tub on our first night and were told nothing could be done until the next morning. When my husband asked for another room there was not one available. We were finally given a nasty plunger and my husband cleared what ever was in there. Staff was hit or miss as far as being nice or not. Also no one cleans or restocks your room until you check out. If you want anything get it yourself. I have never been to a hotel with no maid service. The price was low I suppose this is why. That said we stayed at another place on this trip too, same price range but an excellent stay. We plan a return trip but will skip the Mountain View Inn.

Yelp
This is a small and cute hotel. It's old school, you get an actual key for your room. The beds are comfy, it's nice and clean and affordable. The downside is how loud it is in the morning when everyone is getting up and checking out. Especially being on the first floor, I was woken up by people going down the halls on the second floor.

Yelp
Was looking for a last minute place for New Years and this was the LAST room my friend and I could find anywhere near Banff that wasn't $300+ a night. We were wary, given the bargain price, but we're avid skiiers so we figured we'd brave it. We were DELIGHTFULLY surprised, this place was beyond expectations. The room was spacious, immaculately clean- the furnishings slightly outdated, but all in excellent condition, and the bathroom was spotless and bright with updated fixtures. True, no coffee maker in the room, but the bathroom did have a hairdryer- a luxury we weren't expecting. The room had a flat screen tv, and there was easy to connect to- fast and consistent internet. The desk staff was warm and seemed genuinely happy to have us. No pool or hot tub on the premises for the end of a day on the hills, but the gorgeous rec centre was only a 5-8 minute walk up the street and for $8, all the hot tub you could want (without the 'bros' that usually come with apres-ski hot tubs). They have a 'no noise' rule after 10 pm, which was reassuring as we were concerned that with the price, we'd end up with a pile of kids partying all night next door- but it was quiet and we had a great night all around. For the budget conscious, but not 'cheap' customer, this place is a great bargain for your buck.
