Mountway Hotel Apartment: A Budget Gem for Asian Travelers in PerthI recently stayed at Mountway Hotel Apartment in Perth, and I must say it’s one of the best options in its price range, especially for Asian travelers looking for a long-term stay with self-catering facilities.Location: The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient for getting around. It’s just 1.1 km from the central train station, and you can hop on free bus services like the Red CAT, Blue CAT, or Green CAT, with stops only 100m to 250m away—perfect for easy commuting. Behind the hotel lies the stunning Kings Park and Botanic Garden. If you don’t feel like walking the 300m to get there, the Blue CAT will drop you off effortlessly. The accessibility to public transport and nearby attractions is a huge plus.Cleanliness: While the exterior might look a bit dated, the interior is surprisingly spotless. I booked a room for two, but the bedding and pillows provided were enough for four, which was a nice touch. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, and I was thoroughly satisfied with the cleanliness.Facilities: The private kitchen was a highlight—equipped with a rice cooker, pots, pans, a toaster, a fridge, and enough cutlery, plates, and utensils for four people. They even provide coffee, which I appreciated. However, there are a few downsides: the electric stove is small and outdated, making cooking a bit slow. Also, there’s no salt or basic seasonings provided, nor chopsticks, which might inconvenience Asian guests. The bathroom features a very clean bathtub, but it lacks shampoo and body wash, so you’ll need to bring your own.Despite these minor drawbacks, I’d still rate Mountway Hotel Apartment as the best value for money in its category. It’s practical, comfortable, and ideal for Asian travelers who want to stay longer and cook meals to suit their tastes. I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a home-away-from-home experience in Perth!

Noisy room due to freeway traffic. Very poor wifi. Lucky if it works. Has a kitchenette but all appliances are old and and compromising for cooking. Bed is good 👍. It's cheap so don't expect too much. You pay for what you get.

Great value for money and handy location for visiting Perth. Its not a fancy hotel but the facilities are great, even has BBQs on site and locked gate parking. Just make sure you being earplugs as it is noisy with the freeway traffic very close.

My niece and I stayed here 2 years ago, and I was not impressed with the cleanliness. However, we are both very happy and satisfied this time. A huge improvement. Thank you Mountway 😊

Dirty and smelly rooms, stains on the bed. No amenities in the kitchen or toilet. I had booked the apartment for a week but when I saw the room I walked out. They are refusing to refund any of my money even though I didn't stay a minute in the room. BEWARE: lots of trip.com 5 star reviews by owner to increase their rating. Doesn't seem legitimate.

‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’|I booked my disabled client and myself into this hotel because it was local to the hospital. After a long day of driving from the country, attending appointments we arrived just after the office was closed for the day. Easy check in by ringing after hours number.|We had room 207 and what a delight for the price. All freshly painted, furniture was new and well thought out. Kitchen fully equipped and spotless. Bathroom the same. Linen was clean and crisp and beds were comfortable. The only criticism I have that bed pillows were very flat and not enough of. Over all we had a very comfortable stay and wished we hadn’t been there on business because so much to explore around us.

Rooms were considerably old, the aircon kept turning its self off after a short period of time, not ideal during summer when the weather was over 30 every day. Cracks in the bathroom tiles, slow draining water and no grate over the drain. Rooms in need of a make over. I would not lag anymore for the room, price does reflect the quality of the room.

Great proximity to Kings Park and the city but you will need ear plugs because of the freeway. Old style room but adequate. Could do with a new roller door to balcony given how hard it was to open. Inadequate toiletries. Bring your own! The service was friendly and helpful. I needed help with my TV which was rectified in good time. Good laundry facilities. The layout of the room is wrong - you need the lounge facing the TV and move the cupboard. A bit of a paint job and clean windows would add value to the apartment.

Yelp
Probably bad luck and the fact I had to live there for a short while, but.. it's just kinda terrible. Uncomfortable, incredibly loud, the only view you have is of a cramped highway, housekeeping accidentally stole a stuffed toy and the staff were just kinda creepy. However this was a long time ago at a bad stage of my life so they have most likely improved considering the competition and the fact they are still in business, and I'm just one person so don't just take everything I said as the normal.
