Sad Experience
We were truly looking forward to playing at the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy on Saturday, May 17th at 10:00 AM. Unfortunately, our experience turned out to be quite disappointing.
Upon arrival, the reception area was very chaotic. We were not welcomed in a friendly or professional manner, and after checking our booking, we were told to go to Court 6. When we got there, the court was locked and completely inaccessible. We waited another ten minutes—while our scheduled court time was already running—but nothing happened.
We returned to the reception to explain the situation. The staff member seemed unsure what to do and told us to “try and find a free court among the 30 courts ourselves.” This felt completely unprofessional, especially since we had a confirmed booking for a specific court.
When we expressed our frustration, she mentioned several times that she was working alone and didn’t have enough staff to help or manage the situation properly. While we sympathize with her, this kind of disorganization is not what one expects from such a high-profile tennis academy.
Eventually, she told us we could go to a hard court for a few minutes, but we didn’t have the right equipment. As we were heading there, she came running and said Court 10 had opened up, so we ended up playing there—well into our reserved time.
To be fair, the academy is visually stunning and the courts are excellent. But the way things are managed, especially in terms of communication and customer service, is shockingly poor.
We had already written to the academy several times in April, trying to book a private lesson. Each time we were told that someone would get back to us. No one ever did.
In the end, we spent three weeks on the Côte d’Azur with the goal of training several times at the Mouratoglou Academy. We managed to play just once—and even that began with total disorganization. My husband, a professional athlete, took the morning off to play with me, and it turned into a chaotic and frustrating experience.
Great location, beautiful courts—but sadly, extremely poor management and communication.
