Absolutely loved my first experience here because I will be back! The staff was amazing, very knowledgeable and easy-going. The ambience was perfect, small and intimate yet lively. I ordered a few drinks and they were all so well crafted. Highly recommend stopping by!

Very interesting and unique cocktails. You can't beat the presentation that's for sure. It makes for a nice night out if you're looking for something different in a bar.

Google
Always a great choice for a pre or post dinner stop. The service is always so good. Their nice drinks are unique, fab and delish. Some great NA options too! Don’t forget to grab some mini cheesecakes!

Google
Great location in the Short North. Comes of a little trendy, they have Amazing different types of drinks with great house tonic. This is a great place to wind down at or to start your night. They have a small menu, but the food is quality. The bartenders are very personable and go out of their way to hope you are enjoying your evening.

Google
I would certainly say this is one of the best cocktail bars in Columbus. It is not the biggest space, but I have never had an issue with trying to find a seat/table. Every drink I've had (or have tasted from a friend) has been very good and well made. The service has always been very good. The menu they provide is also very neat, in that it provides a profile of each individual drink, which helps you narrow down what to choose, based on what you're feeling. I would absolutely recommend!

Google
This was our 2nd time at Mouton and our visit was just as amazing as the first time. The menu was different which is what attracts me to this place. I just love their Artisan cocktails! I recommended this as a date night stop after dinner or if friends want to try something new together.

Google
So impressed with Mouton! We sat down, wife slipped off to the bathroom, the staff was instantly arriving with water and did an amazing job marrying our typical cocktails with their own creations. Their cocktails are unique, flavorful and priced right. I recommend stopping in Mouton on your next visit to downtown Cbus and tasting your favorite cocktails with a creative Mouton twist!

Yelp
**See my previous reviews for other specific drinks reviews. Still my favorite cocktail bar in Columbus!** Super happy to come here again and introduce a friend! Not surprisingly, she loved it. With a regularly rotating menu, they currently have multiple tequila and mezcal options, which makes me especially happy. The service was kind and knowledgeable as always, just (understandably) much slower than usual on a busy Friday night. Despite the business, it had the usual mild, laid back atmosphere it usually does on a slower night. Hoodoo That You Do: blue cheese infused mezcal, blackberry, chocolate, coffee. Surprisingly smooth, strong coffee taste without a distinct blue cheese flavor. The blue cheese adds a subtle, cooling note. Strong mezcal bite. Rococo: Ruby chocolate-washed and -topped tequila-based drink with housemade orangeate, lemon, orange blossom water, and soda. A cool, refreshing drink with citrus and nutty flavors. I had never tried ruby chocolate prior, but I loved it! It has a lightly sweet milky flavor more similar to Filipino polvoron than "traditional" chocolate. Thin Mint Shot: Didn't try this one myself, but my friends said it's very strong and not their favorite. A good choice if you're not wanting to sip, though. Stiggin's Fancy: Pineapple rum, lime, sugar, shaved ice. A perfect starting drink if you're not keen on a strong alcohol taste. Sweet and refreshing, tropical and fruity. One of everyone's favorites in the party. Eastern Twilight Zone: Coffee liqueur, cold brew, raspberry infused vodka, chocolate. Strong cold brew taste, quite a dark drink. No cinnamon as far as I know, but a cinnamon-like flavor. Mr. McConaughy: Thyme-infused bourbon, peach-apricot shrub, lemon, soda. As someone who typically hates thyme and bourbon, I almost didn't try this one (not ordered by me.) But I actually loved it!! They did a fantastic job blending the flavors, and none came out too strongly. For the first time, I actually appreciated the flavor of bourbon. Sweet, round, just overall pleasant. This was a table favorite.

Yelp
It has been years since I'm been to mouton, but I really liked it then, and it held up. Tons of yummy cocktails with every type of liquor. All of them came with nice garnishing (except the smoked drink which was a great presentation and smoky but was missing the marshmallow) which was very fun, we all liked the drinks we ordered. Love the atmosphere, very fun and inviting. Service was fine, at happy hour there was only one person working and they did great but obviously it took awhile to get drinks when there is only one person working. Hopefully will be back sooner.

Yelp
I went here last night with my date, and she was familiar with it. It was my first time. What struck me from outside was the exterior. Just felt sleek but not uninviting. Wallpaper on the side wall, nice seating, ample lights- also the cocktails were very good. I had this rum cocktail called Pandan Painkillers and she had the one of the left. Cocktail was great. $14 was the price. I think it was reasonable for the amount you get, Short North locale, and service. My favorite cocktail bars so far (in no particular order) have been Antiques on High, Lawbird, Denmark, and now this. It's close to Paulie Gee so maybe while waiting for a table or an order to pick up, you can stop by here.

Yelp
Light food fair but you are not here for the snacks face it! You are here for the service and alcohol subject matter expertise which is Mouton. Roll the dice, literally, and let the trained purveyors of spirits mix a special brew for you! One of the places here that I found which reminds me of home- Chicago and my old haunt The Violet Hour.

Yelp
Such an amazing spot for lovely and innovative cocktails! Not a big space, but very cute and service has been great the few times I've been there. Let's just talk about the Gravy Boat cocktail. Reading the description, I don't know many people who give it a shot. But the bartender assured me that it was surprisingly refreshing and she was not wrong! It was lightly savory and refreshing all at the same time. The mad scientist behind it, Theo, knocked it out of the park! Mouton - you continue deliver in all of the best ways

Yelp
Lovely, lovely. Have been a patron since fall of 2018(ish?) when I started working at a Thai restaurant a few doors down (RIP Nida's.) Cocktails are always inventive, whimsical, and thoughtful. Atmosphere is cozy on Wed, Thurs, and Sun. (Bring a book!) Friday and Saturday are great for dates.

Yelp
I had the privilege of attending a private company PRIDE event here! We came after the parade from 2-4. The ambiance is beautiful. The staff is amazing. The drinks were handcrafted! I had the privilege of trying a few different drinks. I tried a couple of drinks from their specialty menu: the All Inclusive Resort ($14), the Speedos and Body Glitter ($14). They were delicious! I also had a Roll The Dice ($13) which was so interactive and fun. You roll the dice then they make you a drink that has components of what your dice roll was. All and all I love this place and the thought they put into all of their drinks. I will definitely be back! Check out their menu here : https://www.mouton954.com/menu

Yelp
Unfortunately had a very poor experience when my husband and I tried to stop in for a couple drinks at Mouton. When we got there, all the tables were taken except for one small standing room table that was right by the front door. We obviously took it. Very shortly after a small group came in and asked a worker where they could sit. They worker said "nowhere" and then pointed to us and said because THEY took the last table. We felt so awkward. Not very welcoming at all. We decided to try a couple drinks there anyway. I wish I could remember what we ordered because they were both, like, really bad. Like I felt like I was on an episode of bar rescue when they try the drinks and spit them out because they're so bad. They were obviously very busy that night so maybe they were just short staffed and struggling to serve everyone and that resulted in poor quality? I don't know but I don't think we'll ever be back.

Yelp
Mouton enjoys an atmosphere that reads as classy and reserved ambiance, and once tucked inside it is cozy and comfortable. The two stars are for a charcuterie board that shocked and amazed (not in a great way). Oof. From what I understand though, my meat and cheese oddity is not the norm. Still - will not be ordering that again!
google avatar

Yelp
I thought Mouton was an awesome place to grab a drink. The prices seemed reasonable, the menus had a cool concept, and they had a nifty option to roll the dove (literally rolling dice to generate a random drink). I'd definitely return!

Yelp
Stopped by Mouton for the first time, and I absolutely loved it! The bar was very cute, the staff were very friendly~ and the drinks were so tasty! I also ordered a non-alcoholic one~ can't wait to go back to try some other drinks!

Yelp
Wow! What an excellent experience. The vibe in here is excellent and the servers are so polite. The menu is really expansive and there are lots of options to choose from. We each had two drinks and loved them both. We also had 2 rounds of the thin mint shots which are served in an upside down pineapple shaped glass with a thin mint chocolate. We also had the charcuterie board which was super tasty. Absolutely loved this place, would recommend and would come back!

Yelp
Wow amazing service, atmosphere, and drinks. This place is always quiet and relaxing. Its like the bartenders are mad scientists, I never know what they may cook up! Just know you will love it!

Yelp
This is by far the best bar Columbus has to offer. From the moment I walk into Mouton, an aura of lux and sophistication welcomes me to the space. Each time I visit the bar, Theo (bar manager) remembers my favorite cocktail and makes it with such precision and art. This spot is unlike any bar I've visited in Columbus precisely because of the quality of ingredients that go into each cocktail and the extensive 'expert-level' menu. Anyone who knows a thing about cocktail bars will understand just how truly rare this hidden gem is. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Mouton I love ya! My husband is a bartender less than a block away! We started going to Mouton together after dating but the place always had. Fond place in my heart. Best cocktails my husband never made lololol

Yelp
Great cocktails, service and atmosphere. Got the cheese board and espresso martini/old fashioned which was an interesting choice. They also have an option to roll a dice to get a surprise cocktail which is fun!

Yelp
I would this is one of the best cocktail bars in the country. Their cocktails are creative and perfectly balanced. Mind-opening experience .

Yelp
Amazing cocktails? Check! Charcuterie & Cheese boards galore? Check! Look at the pics and then get there. This place is honestly one of my favorites here in Columbus. If CBUS had more places like this I wouldn't have moved to Austin! :D

Yelp
Classy Cocktails Came in for a drink before heading to grab a bite to eat. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Our waitress was nice enough to offer suggested based on what we told her we liked, as well as providing some insight on some of her favorites on the menu. We were lucky enough to arrive in time to grab the last two seats available as seating here is very limited and reservations are not available. I had the Johnny Apple Fashioned which was really good take on a classic old fashioned.

Sanath K.

Yelp
Amazing cocktails. Cozy, relaxed atmosphere. We love the fresh, unique cocktails at Mouton!

Yelp
We absolutely adore Mouton. Been there 4 or 5 times, and loved it every time. Can't wait to go back. Mouton is "the art of the cocktail". It's really well made adult cocktails for, well, a little more sophisticated adults. There are no $3.00 beers or pitchers of drinks here, and the average age is a little older than the loud, packed Short North watering holes. The cocktails on the menu are carefully crafted, like nothing you've seen anywhere else, and excellently prepared and served. The atmosphere is cool, and the vibe is relaxing. Mouton is very conducive to that quaint, long-lost tradition from years-gone-by of sitting relaxed at a table with your friends, putting your screens away, looking them in the eye, and TALKING. We typically go with friends and sit happily talking, sipping and noshing for 2 hours. The charcuterie platter is great, too, so you can put a little food in your belly as a base for the wonderful cocktails. Mouton is wonderful.
google avatar

Yelp
We got a babysitter and wanted some adult beverages! Moutons is a cute spot to great a mixed cocktail before or after dinner. The old fashioned was more of an experience and very tasty. The bartender talked up the egg nog drink - ended up having a sample and declining. I went with the mulled wine instead and thought it was well done, perfect start to our holiday date night. The ambiance was alright - not sure I would purposely seek this place out but it was a pleasant experience.

Yelp
I am so glad I stumbled into this cocktail lounge last weekend! I have walked by it too many times to count and I absolutely underestimated its coolness. The very moment I walked through the door, I felt at home. I know I know, it's weird to call a bar homey but it's true! The place is very hip and a little romantic. The lights at night are very dim and the colors throughout are dark, making the vibe feel a little mysterious. On the flip side, the staff is uber friendly and quickly came by with water, cocktail menus, and suggestions. My friend and I grabbed a table near the giant wall of windows facing High St. and it was cozy. After browsing the menu, I settled on a seasonal cocktail and I'm so bummed that I didn't take a picture of the menu. Their cocktail menu isn't listed anywhere on line (I assume because it changes often) and I can't remember the name of the drink I got. All I know it that it had lavender bitters in it, which sold me because I love lavender in food and drink. My friend ordered a beer and in minutes we were both sipping away, enjoying good conversation. I absolutely loved my cocktail and the prices were very comparable to other specialty cocktail bars around Columbus. I will most definitely be back here and next time, I'll be sure to share the menu so you can get a little taste of what to expect.
google avatar

Allison K.

Yelp
Wasn't a big fan. The sign said food, but all they had were nuts to pick at. The drinks were ok.
google avatar

Malini S.

Yelp
Stopped in for drinks and conversations with another couple and I absolutely loved it! The vibe is dark, mysterious and very romantic. Candle lit, cozy, and very friendly service. Their menu was fun - had a "color wheel" showing you how boozy, sweet, spicy, etc each cocktail was. We didn't order food but I would next time - the plates I saw coming out looked great b Loved the garnishes on the drinks! Can't wait to go back!! A little pricy but totally worth it.

Yelp
Mouton was a cute, but quiet little bar- A small space with interesting lighting and decor. They had a wide range of artisan cocktails with interesting ingredients. We came for a perfect old fashion and they did not disappoint. If anything this bar was too quiet and the bartenders seemed nervous

Jacob W.

Yelp
Mouton is one of the premier cocktail spots in town, and is supreme at serving inventive, forward-thinking drinks packed with complexity and delicious flavors. The staff at Mouton is superbly talented and the pride they have in their work is immediately evident. A night at Mouton trying new cocktails is one of my favorite indulgences.
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
I've walked past this place probably 100 times and never tried it, so I'm glad I finally gave it a shot this past weekend! I really liked the vibe of Mouton from the moment we entered. It's small and intimate, a place you can go with friends or a date and actually have a conversation (unlike some other local establishments)! It's dark, cozy, and moody in the best possible way. Can I just say that I LOVE the way they do their menu at Mouton. This is how every cocktail bar ever should do their menu. Each cocktail has a diagram of flavors to show how dry, sweet, tart, and boozy it is (among other qualities). This is a fantastic idea and really takes away a lot of the fear you have when you blindly go to order a $12 cocktail and have no idea what it'll be like. At Mouton you can browse the diagrams and know exactly what you're getting into. My type-A brain was very happy here. I ended up doing the "build your own vodka soda," because vodka sodas are my favorite and I simply couldn't resist. You get to choose your vodka, your flavoring, and your garnish. I chose Grey Goose, peach, and lime. I really enjoyed my drink. It was a little bit sweet for my liking and I think next time I might ask for half the flavoring, but it was still so, so satisfying. The peach flavor tasted delightful, like they had squeezed a fresh peach right into my drink (and honestly, they might have). You can tell that the bartenders here know what they're doing. Two of the people at my table had cocktails that were specifically supposed to be enjoyed in two different parts, and the bartender instructed them how to properly drink the cocktail for the best flavor results. Cool! I will always be willing to pay premium price for a truly well-executed cocktail, and I am happy to say that Mouton met my expectations. Can't wait to come back again!

Yelp
Excellent hand-crafted drinks in a nice atmosphere. Great happy hour and friendly service.

Yelp
Great place to take a girl for a drink. Columbus is clearly a beer drinking town so great cocktail bars are worth noting and this is one of them. They've got a drink called, "The Flaming Moe" a la Simpson's. Sadly it's not purple nor do they use cough syrup but they definitely light it on fire!
google avatar

Rose M.

Yelp
My friend and I visited Mouton for a lateish happy hour on a Friday before a long weekend. The space is hip, but inviting and warm. Lots of seating, but most of it is communal (which I'm okay with!). The cocktail menu is great - with cocktails made by their bartenders, classic cocktails, wine and beer. They also have artisanal charcuterie and cheese. All really good looking. Definitely a bit on the pricey side but it's quality. Cocktails also took a long time to make even though it wasn't very crowded, but that's what happens when you have drinks with lots of ingredients. Overall a great place for one or two drinks. I feel like it would be great for a winter night!!!
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
Nice cozy cocktail spot in the heart of Short North. Came here on a Friday and it was busy but we were able to get a table within a few minutes as people were in and out pretty quickly. Ordered the classic Old Fashioned, and it was delicious! The presentation was superb. Definitely would come back for a more classy atmosphere. Prices were as I would expect for a good cocktail. Will definitely be back to try some more adventurous cocktails.
google avatar

Yelp
Great craft cocktails. Relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Friendly service. Great location. Great music selection. Did I mention they have craft cocktails? I asked the bartender for something fruity and sweet and he made me a tasty little number that wasn't even on the menu. He informed me that it was their new cocktail for a competition. I don't know what the competition is, but this light fruity pink libation was certainly a winner. Bonus: complimentary tampons in the ladies room. I've never seen that anywhere and thought it was worth mentioning. They've thought of everything!
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Just stopped in for a couple of drinks, and honestly, I can't recall what we had but both were good. They had a unique menu that provides graphs of the different drinks and speaks to their different qualities, it was pretty cool. Overall, nice cocktail bar in the Short North (see pics for drinks).
google avatar

Austin N.

Yelp
This cool spot has become much more appealing to the novice craft cocktail patron lately. It feels much more accessible than it used to. First off, their cocktail menu has a top notch presentation that looks fantastic and is pretty easy to decipher in order to find the drink that is just right for you. In my opinion, the After Dinner Payback is the best cocktail in the city right now. It's a scotch and tequila blend, so it's wonderfully full of smoke, peat, and booze. It's strong but the agave really sweetens it up and it's not overpowering. However, you definitely know where every penny went on this drink. On that note, the servers do a great job of keeping your water carafe well stocked too.
google avatar

JohnMark C.

Yelp
Booze and creativity are two of my favorite things, and Mouton combines them so well. From their innovative cocktails to their savvy graphic design, Mouton combines them both so we got along well! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and more than happy to explain the eclectic menu, offer advice and have conversation. The only reason I knocked off a star is there's not a lot of seating and the seating there is isn't the most comfortable (lots of stools) -- when I spend $12-15 on a cocktail, I like to have space to sit, savor and enjoy. Mouton can get crowded quickly and you're left with not a lot of space to savor the drink they so carefully made! Overall though, I had a great experience and would totally be back!
google avatar

Sheena O.

Yelp
We were told this place had amazing cocktails, and they were right! I had the vegan eggnog which was delicious, I would not have know the difference. My fiancé had this smoked old fashion and it was really cool how it came in a cloche and the waitress said to wait to open for 30 seconds. The waitress was very helpful and she made excellent recommendations, I would definitely recommend stopping in to try one of their crafty cocktails!
google avatar

Robin C.

Yelp
I must admit I've been curious about this place for a really long time. I've delayed my visit because of mixed feelings that Mouton simply wouldn't be my bag. How wrong I was. There was absolutely nothing about this place that I didn't love! From the jazzy barkeeps, or should I say mixologists, who are weaving together some of the most delightful drinks I've had all year, to the casual yet somehow upscale vibe that was relaxed by the hip hop beats that flowed through the air all night long. It's so complex yet simple that I can't help but to want to go back...and so I did the very next night where I challenged Chris to make me something hot and spicy. I mean, we are what we drink right? The drinks aren't cheap so please don't show up looking for a $5 Margarita. Be prepared to peruse a menu full of craft cocktails and hopefully walk away with some great memories with good friends.

Yelp
This is my first review of the NEW Mouton! If you're like me and have kept your distance from Mouton, then it's time to go back! In case you don't know Mouton's story, here's the Cliff's Notes version: Mouton opened as a lovely artisanal bar that specialized in classic cocktails, wine, and specialty cheeses and meats. Things were great at first: the bartenders were amazing (shout-out to Logan and Matt!), the drinks were perfect, and the atmosphere was vibrant, yet cozy. And then something happened. I'm not sure what started the downfall of Mouton, and I don't want to contribute to any rumors. But the place just lost its magic. The last time I went to the old Mouton, the bartenders were total douches, and I didn't feel comfortable at all. We even overheard a couple of the bartenders bashing someone in our group for their "shitty tip". (Yeah, and just for the record, we are all excellent tippers.) I'd heard recently that Mouton was under new ownership and that the spark was back. So, last night, we decided to see what the new Mouton was all about. And I'm so glad we did! The place was bustling on a cold, snowy night. And as soon as we walked in, guess who gave us a big, friendly hello? Logan! Right then I knew this was going to be a great night. The new owners are really doing things right. All the employees were fantastic, and the drinks were perfect. And I really like the warmed-up decor! My friends and I had such an amazing night - I'm so glad to have my "special" spot again! What's funny is how all the changes to the new Mouton have really made it feel like the old Mouton that I once fell in love with!

Yelp
Having returned to Mouton several times since my first review, I thought it was time for an update! Mouton is truely an experience! I have grown to really appreciate what Mouton has to offer. Yes, it takes forever and a day to get your drink. Yes, the water they serve is probably just tap water, and yes, the stools hurt my butt. But....the owner is passionate about his craft and his passion is infectious. It flows through the space and inspires one to really think on what goes into a well crafted beverage. It has made me appreciate that the staff is just as welcoming and passionate and attentive to details as the owner. It has made me appreciate the time it takes to make a drink and it makes me appreciate why the drinks cost what they do.** ** If you do not drink or wish to keep your tab down, I highly recommend their latte. It's cravable! Created from Brioso beans and Snowville milk it's perfectly executed and a steal at $3.50. Each experience I have had at Mouton has really been lovely. From the welcome, to the service, to the product, to the overall time spent in their space. For those who don't understand the point of Mouton (I didn't at first); I encourage you to take a deep breath a truely appreciate the experience Mouton is offering!

Yelp
I've known about Mouton for awhile now, but I never got a chance to check it out until last weekend. It's located on the quieter part of Short North across from Northstar. My first impression is that the physical space at Mouton is small. With only a handful of tables and bar seating, it likely has a maximum occupancy for about 25 people. The atmosphere is modern and open-concept, with high ceilings and large windows facing High Street. Even though the interior is clean and shiny, Mouton also feels a bit cold to me. Granted the frigid winter weather doesn't help, but I feel like Mouton is lacking the warm wooden tones and lighting that I enjoy in a cocktail bar. It lacks coziness in my opinion. The drinks, however, are fantastic! I had a Sazerac and a Whiskey Sour. Both are amazing and among the best i've had here in Columbus. I also like how their cocktail menu lists drinks on scale from lightest to strongest. I think it really helps customers in trying new cocktails. I also ordered a cheese and charcuterie board. It does not pair up quite as nicely with cocktails as it does with wine, but is still a welcomed addition. The bread, cheese and meat are all fresh. I also love that they include two different types of jam on the plate, along with olives and peppers. It's nice to nibble between cocktails. Overall, Mouton's atmosphere is a little less welcoming for me as compared to other cocktail bars. However, their drinks are top notch and I doubt you will be disappointed no matter what you order. There are a bunch of good cocktail bars in Columbus. Curio, Denmark and Sidebar 122 are just a few that i've been to. Now I can add Mouton to that list.

Yelp
Despite some initial problems getting into Mouton (literally, since the door is a bit sticky and I fought with trying to get it open), I have found my new favorite bar. I like different bars for different reasons, though. Mouton is the kind of place you go for classy cocktails with a friend or two, or bring a date you want to impress. The interior is a calm, cool white with a great mix of seating, ranging from bar seats to high-top tables to low tables to comfy chairs. It has a feeling of rustic elegance, particularly with the pinned up cocktail explanations behind the bar and the chalkboard touting the wine flights available. Clearly the decor gets me. The drinks are excellent here. Mouton doesn't do appletinis or chocolate martinis. In fact, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't even do a vodka martini (which in my book doesn't even count as a martini). The menu is mostly comprised of gin and whiskey-based drinks, which I adore, though there were others. I had a rye Manhattan and a whiskey smash when I was here ($9 each, for those of you keeping track); both were smooth, full of flavor and body, and worth getting again and again. My friends ordered drinks that weren't on the menu, instead speaking to the bartender to find something that best suited what they were looking for. That's really the beauty of going to a small bar focused on making quality drinks, particularly for those of us who typically drink wine, beer, or straight liquor. One of my companions also ordered a dessert tray with sweets from Pistacia Vera, which she raved about. The food menu is relatively limited to cheese and meat trays and dessert, but I think that's what makes this an awesome place to go. Don't get me wrong--I love bar food, as anyone who drinks with me will discover--but I like that the focus is on savoring both the food and the drink. And a final aspect: the staff. Eric was awesome. When I ordered a Manhattan, he came over to my table to chat with me and also discuss the finer points of rye whiskey versus bourbon in said drink. He created some specialized drinks for my friends, and continued to check in to see our thoughts on the drinks. The other staff were friendly and helpful as well. The only downside to Mouton is that you kind of have to know where it is, since there's no exterior hanging signage--only lettering on the glass pane. However, it's easy enough to find once you know where it is, and you can conveniently park in the White Castle lot on High.

Yelp
The year was 2013, I was Columbus for the week I was quite a thirst by the time Friday came around. I used yelp to find a good dinner spot but the place was going to take about 20 minutes to get seated so I decided to walk across the street to this place. Sat down at the bar and ordered a Manhattan, they game me an Old Fashioned instead... yea wrong order, good start right? Lucky for me the two are interchangeable as they are my favorite drinks. Thats when it happened... I had the best Old Fashioned I have ever had in my life. It was not good, it was not great, it was THE BEST. Hell it could possibly be the best whiskey drink i've ever had. Drank it slowly, ordered another and I didn't want to go home. Well Done!

Yelp
So, it's been months since my first visit to Mouton and I can say that I love this place. The drinks are still amazing... the coffee is wonderful too! I I love it at Mouton but what really makes it a 5-star place is the staff. They are amazing. Every single person who works here makes every effort to make you feel special. They attend to your needs, offer suggestions, share their opinions, and work hard to make sure you are happy. On a visit this past Saturday, a friend ordered a Manhattan and found it too strong for her tastes. One of the staff overheard her comment and offered to "doctor it up" for her to make it a bit softer for her tastes. A quick add to the drink and she was thrilled. It's that kind of thing that makes Mouton my favorite place to meet for drinks in the Short North!

Yelp
Dear Mouton, Why are you so freakin' awesome?! I can't even stand it. You offer my palate a delectable array of (very strong) sophisticated cocktails as well as a veritable cornucopia of edible options (hello, imminent food baby!). All served up in an effortlessly-cool-like-SoHo vibe? Ugh. Yeah. You're kind of le poo. The ONE complaint I might utter is that you are a tad on the tiny side. Which makes me a bit salty when I want to get my Mouton on and there are too many other annoying peeps taking up your valuable table space. Le sigh. That aside, I still totally heart you. Xoxo, CK

Yelp
Loved the smoked old fashion - would recommend to anyone - cool presentation but the drink itself is really good. Small bar - limited space if you are bringing more than 2-3 others won't fit all that well.

Yelp
This ideal people-watching establishment is close to my neighborhood. Their artisan cocktails bring me back time and time again for a welcoming meetup spot with my husband. The decor is very much my style: dark walls, Edison bulbs, and industrial draws. The floor-to-ceiling windows take it over the top for Short North delight. I think it would be an exceptionally good location to meet a stranger; it's a cozy spot but the full exposure windows make it very public. There's a light menu of cheeses and cured meats; enough to stay longer than one drink, but not enough options for a full meal to keep you there all night. Bonus: It's usually quiet, so you don't need to shout your conversations. So why the three star review? Well, the service is unwelcoming. The greeting at the door says 'hello' but the trip to the bar says 'goodbye: go sit down and we'll bring you a menu'. So, I can't get a drink at the bar or you'd would just prefer I didn't? It still confuses me. Upon seating, they'll bring you a menu and back behind the bar they go. No chatter about their happy hour or pleasantries to ask if you've been here before. When you're paying $10 a drink, these are things I'd like to see. Especially if you're leaving to let me ponder a cocktail menu. There have been a couple occasions where I've introduced a friend to this spot on the weekend to get a quick drink between bar hopping and we've completely abandoned it because we felt so neglected when we walked into an empty bar. I don't know if they're going for some kind of aloof hipster service vibe, but it's not working for me. All complaints aside, I highly recommend the Greyhound. Fresh squeezed grape fruit and everything you'd expect from a fine artisan cocktail. Happy hour is until 7 o'clock when it's only six bucks. That's when you can find me there.

Yelp
The best cocktails I've ever had! Do not sleep on this place! So good!! I had the tequila drinks and let me tell you, you can't taste any liquor - dangerous and delicious !
