A very large and spread out resort hotel on a fantastic island location in the middle of the Nile River and the city of Aswan. The Movenpick offers a ferry boat included with your stay to get you to and from the island. I stayed for just one night.
The staff verified my room when I arrived at the ferry dock. They helped lift my luggage in and out of the boat. On arrival to the island, they took me and my luggage by golf cart to the lobby to check-in. The Movenpick staff generously upgraded my Classic Nile View Room to a higher quality room with a Nile view. In the north, 3-story building. It was clean and peaceful. A bit dated in terms of its style and maintenance, but more than acceptable for what you often get in Egypt.
The breakfast buffet was included in my room price. It was served from 6:30-10:30. I went at about 9:00. It was still nicely stocked with hundreds of choices, including dozens of tasty pastries, a cooked-to-order omelette & crepe station, and the usual fruit, bread, and other items.
Overall, I would definitely stay again at the Movenpick. It could use some refreshing and better maintenance, but it’s a good choice.
