Arrived on a Sunday afternoon, was greeted by the "chocolate hour." Yummy. From our first step into the hotel, to our last step out, I could not fault our experience. Staff welcoming and accommodating. Our room was lovely; clean and well appointed. The bathroom had a bath, and a rain shower. Housekeeping were polite and unobtrusive. The restaurant staff remembered preferences, e.g. which type of pot of tea, and coffee we liked. It's the small things that add up, which count towards a relaxing stay. Air conditioning in room adjustable; full selection of Fox channels, great service, well appointed room, central to Hobart attractions; all at a reasonable rate. Highly recommended a stay at Movenpick Hotel.

We really enjoyed our time at the Mövenpick Hobart. The stay was comfortable and the overall experience was perfect. My only piece of constructive feedback regards the pillows, only memory foam options were available in our room, and we all woke up with sore necks. It would be great to see a 'pillow menu' or a few more traditional options in the future. We'd love to stay again otherwise

We stayed at the Movenpick Hobart for seven nights over Christmas as part of a holiday package. We found the staff to be friendly, efficient and informative. Our requests were always followed up with a smile and without hesitation, even when they were busy. The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds and very clean. We ate breakfast in the restaurant most mornings and the food, staff and service were excellent. The location was very close to everything including our tour pick up points. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Hobart. Thank you to all staff and management for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Bliss! Mövenpick Hotel Hobart, you're a winner! Spent 3 dreamy nights here and couldn't fault a thing. Central location means everything's a walk away - restaurants, shops, harbour, the lot! Staff were top-notch, friendly and super courteous. Valet parking's a godsend, hassle-free. Breakfast game is strong with an extensive range to fuel up for the day. And dinner at Tesoro? Modern Italian done right. "Chocolate hour" - free, freshly made, bite-sized top quality treats in the afternoons in the lobby. And the views! 16th floor, harbour views, sunrise magic. Room facilities were ace too. If you're heading to Hobart, Mövenpick's your spot. Can't recommend enough!

Excellent place to stay. When we checked in to our room, we could hear trades using power tools. My partner asked if there was a quiet place to work and they not only allowed him to use their conference room, but they upgraded us to a bigger room with a much better view of Hobart waterfront and the Tasman Bridge. A complimentary bottle of wine was also sent to our new room, which was a very nice touch! The restaurant, Tesoro, had great food and attentive staff. All staff were friendly, professional and made our stay very enjoyable - especially Bridget, who helped us personally a few times. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel in amazing central location near ocean front, restaurants, bars, cafes and Salamanca market. Walk down is a hill though - going up on return about 3 blocks. Not much parking around, but hotel has valet parking for $35 a night. There is a wait to get your car- about 20-30 mins each time for us. Chocolate hour was lovely! Food and drinks in restaurant great. Our only complaints were that there didn't seem to be enough front desk staff and there was usually a queue, and one morning at buffet breakfast, the staff just didn't seem to be using their common sense or communicating with each other or the clients. Eg. Took husband's order but not mine, delivered coffee to one and took the other coffee to the next table, bought meals out separately. Other times, no issues and team like clockwork! All things considered, we loved the hotel and would recommend overall!

This is a nice hotel. The amenities are good. The rooms are modern and well equipped, if a little on the small side. The location is great - easy walk to the waterfront and the CBD. Room service breakfast was good. The restaurant/bar lack a bit of atmosphere. Parking is valet. Beware it takes about 20 -30 minutes for them to get your car as the parking is offsite. Not a big deal but something to prepare for. Overall a great hotel. Would happily stay again next time we go to Hobart.

This hotel badly needs clearer SOPs. Street parking is only a short-term loading zone, then valet parking costs around $40 per night. Car retrieval requires 30 minutes notice, and guests must wait in the lobby or risk a parking ticket. A more practical system would be for valet to retrieve the car and call the guest on their mobile when it’s ready. Breakfast was also confusing the buffet is part self-serve and part made-to-order, but this wasn’t explained. Children don’t receive a cooked option, with only toast available in the hot section, which feels below expectations for a hotel in this category. Staff were genuinely lovely, but the lack of clear processes and communication led to unnecessary confusion and frustration.
