I had treated us to a suite stay using my platinum benefits. The Derwent suite had a lovely view but was not luxurious. All the bathroom windows were frosted fully blocking out the amazing harbour views. Not enough staff on duty so reception in evening had long queues. Breakfast was terrible with huge queues, slow service and no replenishment of buffet. Valet parking was so slow and very expensive. We had recommended friends stay here too and they were not happy. I was embarrassed and disappointed. Our last stay was great. Chocolate hour is good. We wouldn’t stay again. Why only valet parking? You need to arrange deals with local car parks for your guests.

We stayed for 2 nights in the deluxe king harbour view room which was clean, modern and a good size. Very comfortable and loved the quality bath amenities. The location of the hotel was convenient to the harbour area and the shops. Valet parking was the only parking option which sometimes took a while but it was nice to have the car delivered to the street in front of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent but the best part of the Moevenpick hotel is chocolate hour! Free gourmet chocolate goodies every afternoon for an hour. Love it.

This is my first time staying at a Movenpick hotel. The hotel is new & modern. The location is close to Skybus drop out point & Visitor Information Centre. Check in was very smooth & fast. Room was spacious, clean & tidy. It's quiet to sleep through the night. There was one incident that someone ordered a wrong room service to my room, I told the lady it was not mine & she left. However, when I check out, it's still on my bill. The lady said she would handle it immediately. Then I left my luggage for storage before my flight, and when I went back to pick up my things hours later, I checked with another concierge lady, the charge has been canceled, so nothing had been charged to my card. They were all very nice & helpful. During my stay, I tried their free desserts at the lobby once (3:30-4:30pm daily). They were generous to provide quite some varieties for tasting, and they were fresh & yummy.

The room was perfect! Very clean and comfy with a shower to die for. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everything is close by as it is in the heart of Hobart with good restaurants and the tourist info just down the road for lots of sight seeing. Have used a movenpick before and would highly recomend anyone to stay in a movenpick. Its A++

This has to be the pick of hotels in the Hobart CBD. Excellent location in close walking distance of shopping, restaurants, pubs, and the Salamanca markets. The bed was extremely comfortable with fresh, smooth sheets. Fluffy towels and daily cleaning made the room invitingly welcoming. Large size rooms too. I recommend booking the rooms with a view of the harbour. We stayed here in the depth of winter, but so cosy!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was our first tine to Hobart and we were very happy with this choice of hotel. Valet service was incredible, quick and very friendly. Reception staff were amazing and couldn’t be more happy to help! Super close walking distance to docks, market and restaurants. We booked the cheapest room and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was - we had everything we needed!

We had a wonderful stay at Mövenpick Hobart – the service was warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. Our room was modern, comfortable, and had fantastic views of the city. The daily chocolate hour was a fun and delicious touch! We really appreciated the central location, making it easy to explore Hobart. Thanks to the team for making our stay so enjoyable – we’ll definitely be back!

My partner and I recently stayed at Mövenpick Hotel Hobart and were extremely disappointed with the overall experience, particularly given the hotel's premium reputation and pricing. When I handed over my car key to reception for valet parking, I expected a smooth and professional service. However, the vehicle was not parked at all and remained on the street for over an hour. This is not only unprofessional but also raises serious concerns about the security of guests' property. Later, when we requested the car to be returned, we had to wait over 40 minutes just to retrieve it. This is far from what one would expect from a premium valet service. In addition, the front desk was severely understaffed, leading to long queues and significant delays. While the front office staff were clearly doing their best under pressure, it was obvious they were overwhelmed and not adequately supported by management. To make matters worse, the lifts were not functioning properly throughout our stay. Every time we needed to access our floor, staff had to manually open the lifts for us. We raised this issue several times, but nothing was resolved. Most concerning of all, we encountered an individual who appeared to be under the influence of drugs loitering on hotel floors. On multiple occasions, this individual was verbally abusive to us and to other guests, including children, creating a deeply unsafe and distressing environment. This kind of behaviour has no place in any hotel, especially one that promotes itself as a luxury destination. Overall, this stay was far from satisfactory. The combination of poor organisation, safety issues, and a lack of basic service standards made for a disappointing and uncomfortable experience. We will not be returning, and I strongly urge hotel management to take immediate action to address these serious issues.
