Great hotel in an incredibly convenient location for a short stay in Hobart. I was perplexed by a hotel with a chocolate/ice cream brand… but was very pleasantly surprised. My room was modern, spacious and impeccably clean. The one downside was an almost complete absence of natural light. There was a neighbouring building inches away from the window, but it really didn’t worry me. “Chocolate happy hour” is a nice gesture. On my recent stay the staff were incredible and helped me with an early check in which made a huge difference to my day.

The hotel is beautifully designed with all the modern conveniences provided. The room was spacious and provided a lovely view of the city. The in room TV entertainment was excellent. Access to Foxtel on demand was a welcomed surprise from the usual hotel TV offerings. Wifi provided was strong and consistent throughout the stay. The bathroom was spacious and had ample space for us to hang our towels and other bathroom necessities. The adjustable shower was also very much appreciated. It would have been helpful to have a full length mirror in the room. The beds were firm and comfortable and the pillows were just the right firmness to ensure a peaceful night's sleep. Truly an excellent hotel and I look forward to returning one day.

I had treated us to a suite stay using my platinum benefits. The Derwent suite had a lovely view but was not luxurious. All the bathroom windows were frosted fully blocking out the amazing harbour views. Not enough staff on duty so reception in evening had long queues. Breakfast was terrible with huge queues, slow service and no replenishment of buffet. Valet parking was so slow and very expensive. We had recommended friends stay here too and they were not happy. I was embarrassed and disappointed. Our last stay was great. Chocolate hour is good. We wouldn’t stay again. Why only valet parking? You need to arrange deals with local car parks for your guests.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mövenpick! It turned out to be a great location to get around Hobart, both on foot and by car. Very nice clean and comfortable rooms (we experienced 4 rooms over 2 stays either side of a trip up to Launceston). We upgraded to one of the suites on the second leg and it was worth it for the view and oodles of room. The breakfast was very good with well-curated menu and buffet options. Nice chocolates with the coffee on a Sunday morning too!

Not a good service for accor hotel. I used to stay in Accor hotels. Room view is blocked w other building wall, asked lady reception to changed high level as i requested from the 1st place. Instead, a guy agent said all room has the same view for twin bed. & ask me if i can pay 25aud to upgrade, after i refused he bargained for 15aud to upgrade w king bed, which actually same price online twin/king bed. I refused. Unlike accor standard quality hotel, more like 2star hotel you can just bargain to got an upgrade. Not even trying to solve the problem with lower level & look different from my booking image. No amenities after the guy housekeeping cleaned the room 1st day, even towel not even rolled like you come to a new clean room, instead just put piled up & messy folded. Not sure if its still the same towel or not. 2nd day The lady housekeeping do her job well. Not even want to recommend or stay here anymore. Very dissapointed, i can find a better hotel nearby.

We arrived late evening but managed to secure a table in the hotel restaurant. The food and service were good despite it being exceptionally busy. Our room was clean and comfortable if a little compact. Sadly our only view was of the adjacent office block! However breakfast was delightful. Lovely buffet options and the cooked options were very high quality indeed. The hotel is in a great location - just a 5 minute walk to the quay side to catch a ferry and close to all the shops and restaurants.

Had a wonderful stay with easy check in and out. Was able to pay a minimal charge for an extra late check out, which we found amazing as our flight wasn't until the evening. Clean well presented rooms. The chocolate hour was great and different 😋

We stayed for 2 nights in the deluxe king harbour view room which was clean, modern and a good size. Very comfortable and loved the quality bath amenities. The location of the hotel was convenient to the harbour area and the shops. Valet parking was the only parking option which sometimes took a while but it was nice to have the car delivered to the street in front of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent but the best part of the Moevenpick hotel is chocolate hour! Free gourmet chocolate goodies every afternoon for an hour. Love it.
