Great location next to Lac Leman. Very centrally located with nice views and short distances. The room was great (though the soap was empty but handled quickly on request). Highly recommended for a wonderful stay close to the lake and to the main attractions; many in walking distance of just by metro a few meters away from the hotel. Public transport ticket was included, which was great. On the two days of our stay, multiple international bus groups were hosted in the hotel and the staff was seemingly overwhelmed. Waiting time for check and check-out was ca. 5 minutes each; waiting time for a coffee at the machine in the morning was similar to up to 5 minutes. I did not know about the schedules of the bus groups, so could have been solved by providing the information to others to take breakfast earlier or later. Enough places to sit and a nice and tasty breakfast, though. I wanted to take my welcome drink at the bar, but the staff did not allow or enable access due to the enormous number of bus tourists swarming around all the public areas. It was possible then the next morning.

Stayed for 7 nights and whilst the hotel seemed very chaotic when we arrived - Swiss National day plus large tour group arrived - our stay overall was wonderful. Room very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Hotel very convenient for Ouchy and the free transport pass a real bonus. Bar service very good. Restaurant excellent too. Loved chocolate hour - a great touch! Only criticism is that the hotel should perhaps offer both their own car park and the option to park across the road. The hotels own car park was full due to national day and we were forced to park in the public car park opposite - a 90 second walk from reception. However, over a 7 night stay, this ended up saving us over a £150 . Had the hotel car park been available, I would undoubtably have parked there. Overall, will happily return to the Movenpick and feel we had excellent value for money.

Perfect location, nice and clean rooms and toilets, very friendly check in and great facilities. We booked last minute two rooms for the family and it was also great value for money for a room with no lake view. Being just in front of the lake and by the restaurants and cafes along the promenade meant we could reach easily both the beach and the local amenities.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is great — close to many attractions and very convenient. The room was clean, well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. A nice touch was the in-room espresso machine, which made it easy to enjoy a good cup of coffee anytime. Room service was efficient and the food was satisfying. I also appreciated the pillow menu, which allowed me to choose the right support for a comfortable sleep. The bathroom glass is fully transparent. For better privacy, a semi-transparent or frosted design would be more appropriate without losing the modern look. Overall, it’s a nice hotel with thoughtful amenities and great service — just a few improvements would make the stay even better.

My fiance and I stayed here for 1 night in late May 2025. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is located right across the street from Lake Geneva and our room had a phenomenal view of the lake. Highly recommend booking a lake facing room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They gave us tips on the public transportation system and stored our luggage for us when we arrived early in the morning from a long international flight before our room was ready. The location of the hotel is excellent as the lake walking paths are right across the street, the train is only 2 blocks away and easy to use to get to Lausanne and the other rail lines, and there are ample restaurants in the area. Highly recommend!

Great Location and Service, but Noisy at Night We stayed for three nights at the Mövenpick Hotel Lausanne and thoroughly enjoyed the location. The hotel overlooks the lake and marina, offering beautiful views. It’s perfectly situated within walking distance to a supermarket and a nearby play yard, which was great for our family. Underground Paid Parking is conveniently located right in front of the hotel at 22 CHF per day. Make sure to ask the reception for a discount coupon—they’ll give you one that reduces the rate by 7 CHF when paying at the machine. The metro station is also close by, offering free rides to downtown Lausanne in just 10 minutes. Rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, one drawback during the spring season is that the hotel doesn’t operate the air-conditioning. This means you’ll need to open the windows for fresh air, which lets in a lot of noise from the street. If you’re a light sleeper or prefer to sleep in a cold, quiet room, this might be a challenge. Overall, it’s a well-located and pleasant hotel, but be prepared for some street noise at night during the warmer months.

We enjoyed our five nights in Lausanne. The room was lovely with a beautiful outlook. We’d love it if hotel rooms would all start including USB ports for charging devices, but this is a small quibble. The inclusion of the city travel pass is a great initiative and we appreciated it when exploring the city. Lausanne is well located for exploring Switzerland and this hotel is a great option.

The rooms in this hotel need updating especially the bathroom which had rust in several places. The shower/bathtub is semi-enclosed with a glass panel that lets water splash on the floor of the bathroom. The shower head itself would not stay in place which made it difficult to shower. Housekeeping did not vacuum the carpet in the room and did not mop the bathroom floor. The room has a fridge and a nespresso coffee maker but no microwave. The beds were comfortable. We had a room that overlooks the main road and you could hear street noise. The location of the hotel provides nice views of the lake, port and mountains. There is Migros supermarket right next to the hotel where you can get some really good pastries for breakfast for cheap compared to what the hotel charges, You get a free transportation pass to use for the very convenient metro and bus system.

Yelp
I finally created a new Restaurant page for this Restaurant located in the Movenpick Hotel in Lausanne. That's definitely a place to try out. They're having exceptional food selection and great presentation. The place can be considered a little bit expensive but it's worth the try. The ice-creams are what Switzerland have to offer the best. Atmosphere 3/5: The place is alright. A modern type of seating, dinner area with a nice terrace for warm days in Summer. You will find even during winter some little birds inside the restaurant which is quiet entertaining. Food 5/5: Great food! It was excellent. I tried the Thai Burger Salmon (see pictures) and it was really interesting actually how they presented the food. 2 slices of pillaf rice forming the bun, "un lit" of vegetables and the salmon between it. Service 4/5: Service was good because my friend knew the GM of the restaurant. They just forgot us at the end with the check, but beside that. Service was really good. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Well..I would be glad to be able to leave a positive feedback for this place, but after having been ignored for about 20 minutes, I find it very unlikely. My sister and I came here last summer as we wished for a good ice cream. The place was quite empty, no more than 3-4 tables with people sitting. We took a seat and waited for some waiter to come and pick our order, but...nothing. There were at least 4-5 waiters who clearly saw us coming in, having a seat and going through the ice-cream list, but no one came at our table. After 10 minutes, my sister went in to ask for someone to come at our table, they said that someone would come soon, 10 minutes more without seeing anyone. I would like to add that waiters were not particularly busy, as the place was quite empty. So, why did they ignored us?? Finally, we just left the place with waiters looking at us and doing...nothing, as before. Sorry, but i don't think I'll come back.

Yelp
I have eaten at this restaurant previously and have never been disappointed. Typically I avoid hotel restaurants, but here the food is great. My number one goal here though is to always ensure I have room left for dessert, because the ice cream desserts are a bite of heaven itself. It is not an easy task to find enough stomach space left after a meal for dessert, as the ice cream creations are big enough to be a meal themselves. We often during the summer will actually come and sit outside in their terrace area and enjoy a coffee with some ice cream for lunch. The winning meal of the evening was my friend's Lebanese style burger. I would go back just to try that!

Yelp
Mamma mia, how we used to love that place when we weere students... Now it's got another vibe for us, since we can afford the little luxury dessert a bit more often than we used too ;). However, it remains a great place if you want a delicious ice cream (they're all good, really !), served by nice staff, just before going for a walk along the lake. You gotta love it !
