Moxy Banff

We had an absolutely wonderful family stay at the Moxy Banff! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming, ready to check us in, and even offered upgrades since they were available. We were greeted with a token each for a welcome drink, which immediately set the tone for a fun and relaxed stay. A special shoutout to our bartender, Rhys, who truly went above and beyond. He memorized everyone’s orders, curated a special mocktail just for me since I’m pregnant, and offered fantastic suggestions for our Banff trip. One of his recommendations was Johnston Canyon, which we visited and absolutely loved! The rooms were phenomenal; spotless, well-equipped with everything we could possibly need, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. It truly felt like a home away from home. The lobby and bar area were the real star of the show. It perfectly blended modern and retro vibes and felt like a warm, inviting space to gather and hang out. We loved the games available (foosball hockey, Jenga, Connect 4, etc), and the outdoor spa and heated pool were the perfect way to relax after a day in Banff. Anyone looking to stay in Banff, I highly recommend the Moxy Banff. We will definitely be back!

Stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious and very clean, with a beautiful mountain view. I especially appreciated the in-room coffee machine and the quality of the coffee. The staff was friendly and professional, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. I booked the room through Trip.com, with breakfast included, and the breakfast exceeded my expectations — fresh, well organized, and very enjoyable. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The only small downside was the welcome cocktail, which was not particularly impressed, but it did not affect the overall positive impression. I would gladly stay here again.

This was our first time staying at Moxy and we loved everything about it! From the moment we checked in it was outstanding. We don’t remember the name of the gentleman working the front desk but he was the best! Super friendly and helpful and just very good at his job. (He was working when we checked in on January 8 at 4:00pm if that narrows down who it was ☺️) We loved the retro vibe of the hotel and just the welcoming, fun lobby bar and seating. The room was also very cleverly laid out and super clean. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Absolutely loved this hotel. It is quirky and fun and really embodied ski retro vibes throughout. It is a great combo of vibey in the public spaces (bar, hot tub) and quiet in the rooms. While it is on the outskirts of town, it was super convenient for the ski buses and the free bus passes into town made it very easy to go int the centre. Would come back!

Family holiday with dogs. Loved the rooms, decor, pool and lobby areas. Original. Welcoming. Curious. Tweens loved it. Housekeeping staff were great. I wanted to enjoy the food and beverage experiences but was left underwhelmed - namely because the front of house staff were flat and non-engaging.

We had such a great stay at Moxy Banff! Our suite room was fantastic, beautifully designed, and had an amazing mountain view right from the bed. It honestly felt like one of the best hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. The whole hotel has a fun energy and the staff made the experience even better. Chloe set the tone before we even arrived. Her emails were warm, personable, and made us look forward to the trip. Big thanks as well to Sok for taking care of us. She remembered us from our stay last year and still had that same friendly and welcoming energy. She made sure everything went smoothly. She also assisted us in setting up the Voyager Hi-Fi room. She made us feel like we were being looked after by a friend. As mentioned, we also booked the Voyager HiFi room as an added experience. It was such a fun highlight. We used it for karaoke and watched some videos, and when one of the mics ran out of battery, Lawrence came over right away to replace it. Even though he was busy, he made sure we were taken care of. Riyota was also fantastic. He checked us in, explained our perks, prepared a few of our drinks, and had great interactions with us throughout the stay. He made us feel comfortable right away. Cameron and Mike at the food truck served great food. Mike especially was very personable and easygoing, which made the experience even better. And a big thank you to Ashmita. We were celebrating a special occasion and she noticed the pins we were wearing. Even during the busy breakfast rush, she made sure we received a special dessert. Her thoughtfulness made our morning. Overall, Moxy Banff is easily one of our favorite places to stay in Banff and one of our favorites across Alberta and Canada. The rooms are great, the vibe is fun, and the team consistently goes above and beyond. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks, Moxy Banff Team!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely flawless stay at Moxy Banff – Karl is a legend! From the moment we pulled up to the Moxy Banff, the vibe was electric – modern, playful, and perfectly located right in the heart of downtown Banff, steps from everything you’d want. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was Karl at the front desk. This guy is next-level hospitality. He greeted us with genuine enthusiasm,he gave us the best local recommendations (including a hidden-gem taco spot and somehow remembered every guest’s name and little details. His energy is contagious – he’s funny, warm, and clearly loves what he does. The room itself? Spotless, super stylish, with the comfiest bed, a massive rainfall shower, and those fun Moxy touches (peg wall, cheeky signage, great lighting for photos). The bar downstairs is buzzing every night with great cocktails, live music some evenings, and the free nightly shot-ski at check-in is pure genius. We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Banff, but the Moxy is by far my favourite thanks in huge part to Karl) just became our new go-to. If you’re heading to the Rockies, book here and pray Karl is working – he’ll make your trip 10x better. Already counting down the days until we’re back! ❤️🏔️

We had such an excellent stay at the Moxy Banff! The hotel was spotless, the rooms were SUPER cute (and surprisingly quiet), and the whole vibe was just fun and stylish. The setup with all the vintage games, cozy lounge spaces, and that delicious on-site food truck made it feel like more than just a hotel stay. Pro-tip: don’t skip dessert from the truck… SO good. The gym had a great setup too, and we loved the quirky extras like the record/karaoke room. What really stood out, though, was how the team went above and beyond to make our wedding anniversary feel special - complete with a surprise setup in the room and adorable pins to wear (so fun!). While the hotel isn’t right in the heart of downtown Banff, it’s an easy and very walkable distance. Honestly, we liked being a bit removed from the busiest stretch. And if you don’t feel like walking, the local bus is super easy and efficient to hop on.

Better then expected. Initially walking into the hotel I thought we would be getting just the basic hotel stay. Moxy exceeded my expectations. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. She gave us 2 tokens for welcoming drinks at the bar as well as bus passes to use while exploring the town. The lobby was so spacious, plenty of tables and couches to lounge on. We noticed that they also had bike rental and games to enjoy inside the lobby (old arcade video games and foos ball). The back patio area had a small pool and a small jacuzzi along with lounge chairs and 2 fire pits. Upon exploring, we found the coin operated guest laundry room and small fitness room in the basement area. The suite we booked was beyond cute. Felt like they brought a little of the outdoors into our stay. Only downside was that the sink was in the middle of the room but otherwise loved the design. In terms of food they have a small eating area where you can purchase frozen meals and self microwave them. They also have free coffee and tea and a water filling station. There is also a "food truck" that you can order various foods but the menu is limited. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Great hotel, great location, great for everyone! This hotel is perfect for singles, couples or families! It took me a day to realize the room was reminiscent of a retro camper interior and I loved it! It reminded me of our family camper trips as a kid but with a big glamp-up! Hats off to the designers! It was outdoorsy, fun, stylish and still very functional and comfy. Staff was very kind to help my husband look for his list keys to the car rental. Food was lovely, lots of things to do and they even had bus tickets for the local bus. Walking to the restaurant and shopping area is very easy and pleasant for anyone who enjoys a walk. We would definitely return here, thank you Moxy Banff !

All I can say is WOW! I've always viewed Moxy as a "yuppie" or "hipster" chain and honestly wasn't looking too forward to visiting this hotel. Boy, did this location change my perception of Moxy. Yes, it was still "hipster", but it a nice, welcoming way. The front desk is actually the bar and we were greeted with cocktails and booze. The rooms are clean and the family room we got was super spacious and a nice view of the mountains. We were told by locals that Moxy is one of the newest properties at Banff. They have an outdoor hot tub and heated pool, which was perfect after a day of hiking or skiing. There's a "food truck" that sells pretty good food and fairly reasonable prices. The food is good for boozing snacks (aka flatbread, steak sandwiches, nachos, etc), but not the best option for a real meal, imo. There's also plenty of activities (board games to borrow, free arcades/hockey table, trivia nights, movie nights, etc). There's a hidden washing machine/dryer in the basement (ask the staff which side, there's one particular elevator you have to go to access it). I'm also told there's a "sound room", which is a party room primarily rented out by staff and locals. They have professional quality equipment/karaoke machine for routy parties. Staff was supeeeeeeeeer nice. I don't know if it's bc Canadians are nice in general, but they remembered my name throughout the trip and was able to help accommodate everything I needed for the perfect stay. The property is located at the start of Banff, so getting to downtown would be a decent 20-30 minute walk or a quick 5 minute drive. Highly recommend this place!

Well, my first stay at this particular Moxy is in the books and I can tell you with absolute certainty that I'll be staying there again the next time in BANFF. It's a different place altogether, very hip and cool. But the staff also is second to none. Super friendly and very accommodating!! It's not your typical hotel and I'd like to refer to it more as a home away from home!! Hands down my most favorite place in town!!

It's a good place to stay, smaller pool than expected, smaller beds than expected only about 6 ft long. The bathroom area has very little privacy and has only a fogged glass door. The lobby is very modern and bubbly most likely directed towards children but overall not a bad place to stay

I came here for my birthday week and I had a pleasant stay. The checkin and checkout was seamless. Had housekeeping freshen up the room everyday (thanks to Hsing!). The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a food and bar station. Would recommend giving this place a try. It was the only Marriott that came up during my search so just a heads up in Banff. We stayed here for our honeymoon and we loved our entire experience from beginning to end! The entire vibe of the hotel is very cool and unique compared to most hotels in Banff. This is the ultimate Instagrammable hotel! Our room had a king bed with a small balcony. The hotel is very clean and we enjoyed the hot tub and heated pool every day after our adventure. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. We were always greeted with a warm smile and conversation. Special shout out to Jordan for all his help for our accommodations!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The staff were all extremely helpful and nice. The breakfast was good too, I'd recommend the B-E-C. They have a great lounge too for hanging out and grabbing a drink or just playing a game. I was worried it would be too loud at night, but couldn't hear a thing. We had a double Queen room and it was set up in such a cool way that we took picture to replicate it back home! Thanks again to the front desk staff for all the help and having laundry services was a huge benefit too. I'd recommend and will hopefully return soon!
