The hotel is nice and clean. But the 5 stars are most definitely for the staff. Nathalie and Fede are 2 amazing bartenders! They work the nightshift at the Moxy bar. Both are up for a good chat and are very well spoken. The drinks they make are the tastiest I've had in a while and I really feel like they have heart for the business. I was also impressed with the fast service, no matter how busy the Moxy bar is. Definitely coming back because of the great service! I would recommend this place

Moxy tries to keep up that modern, “cool” vibe it’s known for, but honestly, it feels a bit outdated now. The rooms are comfortable, yes, but also somewhat old-fashioned—like the design is stuck in an older idea of what “modern” was supposed to be. The service, though, was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful, and really made the stay better. The least pleasant part was the breakfast situation. They’re very strict with the schedule: by 00 they had already taken everything away, and the way they did it felt a bit too aggressive for that hour. There didn’t seem to be much flexibility or consideration for guests who arrive a bit late. Overall, Moxy offers good service and comfortable rooms, but between the slightly dated design and the rigid approach to things like breakfast, the experience could be much better with a bit of updating and a more guest-friendly attitude.

I LOVE a Moxy and this place should have been much better. As a platinum Elite member with Marriott, I got all the standard politeness at check-in. Staff were friendly and helpful. My family room was well designed, but there was a welcome gift addressed to someone else and a light-switch was loose. Little things, and I thought I'd just mention them on check out. I returned to my room late evening on my second day, to find the bed had been made, but not the (clearly slept-in) sofa bed...despite housekeeping having emptied the bin beside it and walked past it to go to the bathroom (where they replaced one of the used towels and left the other hanging there). Again, I thought it wasn't the end of the world and was a possible oversight that would be rectified the next day. On day 3, again returning very late, I found the same - bed made and sofabed ignored; bin emptied (and housekeeping had seemingly climbed over the sofabed to adjust the curtains; one used towel replaced, one ignored. It was at that point I noticed the stain on the curtain (spilled food? Vomit? Worse? I don't know). And I checked out the following morning. Yes, I could have raised any of these issues with reception. But by the time we returned to the room, it was too late for housekeeping and I shouldn't have to ask them to make up both beds in a room or replace both towels, surely? Breakfast and food were good and staff in reception were friendly. But this was not the experience I'm used to in Moxy hotels. Please do better.

I had a pleasant three-night stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful; they promptly honored my request to change rooms when I found that the first one lacked of any workspace. The second room I was given had a much more appealing layout.||Amenities in the room included a mini-fridge, coffee maker, and hairdryer. Kettle is available upon request, and each floor has a dedicated ironing room. My room was clean and a decent size, if a little compact.||The breakfast offered a wide variety of good options, though the area did get quite crowded. Its location is a major plus, as it's within easy walking distance of the Ostbahnhof station. All things considered, I had a very positive experience and found it to be excellent value for money.

What is happening to hotels? Things you take for granted suddenly disappearing. I’m used to checking if there is a bar at my hotel, is breakfast included, is there a fridge in my room…? When did I need to start to check if there are drawers in my room, or anywhere to put my clothes (5 hangers), a safe, or a shower with a proper tray so it doesn’t flood the bathroom every time you use it?||The room is spacious enough to provide these ‘extras’ the room was clean and bed comfortable, it was also lovely and warm despite being mid-December. Lobby area and bar were nice and location was good. Just give me somewhere to put my underwear.

Stayed for 5 days in August. |The hotel is 3 mins walks from Berlin Ostbahnof, which makes it absolutely perfect for getting around the city with excellent transport links. Several SBahn and UBahn stops within easy reach. As well as a bus terminus. Also plenty of hire bikes/scooters in the vicinity. |Hotel staff were friendly, even provided my friend with a free cocktail when I checked in. The hotel has a great decor and feels like a space that is more than just a hotel. Also, always smelt amazing. |The room itself was clean and nicely presented. A kettle would've been great, but it not being there was motivation for me to get out early and explore the local area. |Which is great, lots of great places that you can reach by foot, Berghain, East Side Gallery. A little further in Warschauer, 1 stop on the SBahn, is RAW Gelende and you can also pick up the UBahn here to get into Kreuzberg really easily. |A great stay and would potentially consider returning for my next visit.

So, let’s start with the good; excellent price, great location and the team on the front desk are marvellous. What isn’t so good; no laundry service, rooms are super small, shower head moves all over the place, smell from drains and NO GYM.

Google
Breakfast was surprisingly good. Everything about this hotel is small. Rooms are small, bathrooms are small, elevator is small. If you are a single traveler, this place will be awesome. My wife and I went somewhere else after a few nights because the hotel was so small.

Yelp
I really liked this place. It's super close to the Berlin Ostbahnhof station as you can literally see it from the hotel. This makes it an easy base for exploring the city. It's also a short walk from the stretch of the Berlin Wall that's still standing with all the artwork. The staff was incredibly friendly, and if you need English, they speak it without any issue. The rate was solid, the bar was excellent, and the drinks were on point. The whole vibe is trendy in a way that fits Berlin perfectly. Overall, highly recommended and in a great area.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay while in Berlin for a football game. Staff is super friendly and very helpful with suggestions on bars, restaurants, and just travel in general. Breakfast is amazing.

Yelp
Greta location next to the train station, wonderful staff with amazing hospitality and clean hotel with great pieces that meets the basic needs of a travel! Highly recommend for the budget traveller who wants to explore Berlin with lots of food trucks nearby offering many budget eats!!

Yelp
Great hotel location near the train station with super friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing with so many options. The room was nice, although a bit small, though we still had a king size bed. The irritating thing was the hot water got super hot every 10 seconds in the shower. It was unbearable for the 4 nights we were there. They need to fix that!

Yelp
Hotels a a Moxy basic but fun. The way to buy third party shuttle tickets is frustrating and doesn't always work. Get an app. I would not stay based on that alone.

Yelp
Pretty solid and clean hotel. It's not extremely glamorous but it does have an upscale modern hipster appearance. The rooms were spacious, I expected the queen room to be smaller. With only my backpack for the 4 day Christmas weekend I didn't have any suitcases taking up floor space. One suitcase wouldn't have taken up much space. Two would have been a little cumbersome. The bathroom was small with a standup shower but it was everything I needed. The hotel was quiet and I was roomed on the second floor and so was my travel buddy down the hall. Neither of us noticed any noise. The breakfast was not included even with titanium status but they did provide €10 meal vouchers to each room. Buffet breakfast is €15 and it was a good spread. The coffee maker made everything from espresso to lattes. The only complaint I have was it didn't warm the milk much so the drinks came out warm at best. Eventually I figured out if I made an espresso and then another drink and combined them, the temperature was were I wanted it. The east side of Germany is more "artsy" and up and coming it seems around this area but the longest section of the Berlin Wall is 2min away on foot. I self toured this area along with the museum at the end. It's worth it. To get into the museum district we used the various scooters. They are all over the city and roughly €0.27/min. I've ridden up to 5km on them throughout the city. Much of the time it was faster, cheaper, and more fun then uber. The price was also highly reasonable at about €82/night per room. A neat feature for the room was chrome cast on the tv so you can cast any video platform you want to the tv. It was extremely convenient and the first time I've been at a hotel which has this feature. The only complaint was the hot water would routinely fluctuate from the temperature set to scolding hot. I asked my buddy if his room did the same and it did. I never bothered talking to the front desk.

Yelp
Really well done up place with very comfortable and well lit rooms and a great lobby for getting real work done. This was our first time in a Moxy and could see why the brand will appeal to the Gen Z. The front desk is very friendly (and causal). The daily breakfast has lots of options with a good array of breads, buns, jams, cheese, spreads, fruits, and cereals (but no hot stations). The bathroom and shower were just great, tho size was form fitting. To our surprise, there was no fitness center, which is a bit of bummer. We were told, there are paid gyms with close proximity. Outdoor running may be an option if the weather cooperates. The big plus is that the location is right next to the East Berlin train station. Plus, some key tourist attractions are within walking distance. We liked the motif and felt it was a great value. Well done!

Yelp
Another quirky hip Moxy property located conveniently beside the Berlin Ostbahnhof location. Within walking distance to the Merxedes Arena Simple breakfast in the lobby for 12E. Quiet, efficient and fun rooms echo the fun decor in the lobby.

Yelp
Moxy Berlin is a trendy, hip hotel conveniently located across the street from the Ostbahnhof. If you don't want to drag your luggage too far, it's a perfect location. Keeping with the Moxy chain's theme of Millennial retro-minimalism, the rooms are modern, small and sparsely furnished. There are hooks and hangers for your clothes. A wardrobe or closet would take too much space. Nonetheless, the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is small but clean. The German shower faucets were a bit tricky to master, but now I'm used to them in every modern German hotel I've been to lately. Ingenuity, and I want one in my home! A room safe is not provided, but the lobby has self-lockers that are large enough to store entire backpacks. The room worktable is barely deep enough to hold a laptop, but then aren't you supposed to be downstairs working on the large communal tables? An appealing and varied Continental breakfast can be added. Just make sure you are there before the cutoff time, as the sliding doors displaying the food close on the dot. Being next to a major train station, some parts can be dicey at night. The hotel block is fine, and it looks like the city has cleaned up the small triangular park across the street. If you want to be near the world-famous nightspots in the old East Berlin powerhouse, it's only about 4-5 blocks walking distance.

Yelp
The rooms are spartan and not quite as stylish as I'd hoped, but they do the job if you are just planning to sleep there and be out and about during the day. I liked that they have an electric tea kettle in the room. Also, unlike the other Moxy's I've experienced in the States, I appreciated that they had a jug of spa water in the lobby, as there is no bottled water in the rooms (even for purchase). There was a good variety of food for breakfast (toast, breads, boiled egg, deli meats, cheese, cereal etc), but I wish there were 1-2 hot items. If you're craving a late night bite, they can make you pizzas at night. Location-wise, this Moxy is a stone's throw away from the Ostbahnhof station, which made it ultra convenient to get around Berlin.

Yelp
This is HANDS DOWN the most poorly run and incompetently staffed hotel I have stayed at having travelled extensively through Europe and the U.S. for decades. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. The staff are not only entirely incapable or untrained in doing the basic skills of checking guests in-and-out or running a bar and limited service "restaurant" (if you consider 711 a restaurant) they manage to add complete indifference, a sloth-like lack of speed, and if you make eye contact, outright rudeness. Watching the staff made me realize anyone can apparently be hired for a job. This could be the subject of a master class on how not to run a business. The fact this hotel remains open is the epitome of defying the odds.

Yelp
One of the Best! Clean Marriott/MOXY property -- but what sets this property apart from everything else is the staff. They are AMAZING! - Warm, friendly, attentive and fun. They made our Berlin experience! Many nights we would return and just hang at the bar and chat with them. Jesus, Burt and Nicolis were top notch team members! I look forward to future stays!

Yelp
I have been a loyal Marriott customer for 15 years. Anytime I have had an issue Management has been prompt in responding and resolving. The Moxy Berlin has been a total disaster and refuses to respond to my concern. I have escalated to Marriott customer service and my e-mails are ignored. This is all over missing points on my account. Over 15 years I have spent a great deal of money with Marriott and today no response over missing points.

Yelp
What a nice hostel! I stayed here on my business trip. Hotel is located just right to Train station. Very strategic location. I love the design of the hotel! Fresh, modern, young, provocative, filled up with deco from fashion world.... Chain MOXY is part of Marriott family, the biggest hotel chain in the world. Check in was smooth, receptionist/bartender was helpful. Room was better than I expected from HOSTEL. Everything new, clean and fresh. I will be back! Almost forget! Rent theirs bikes! Great way to go around!

Yelp
Brie for breakfast!!! This hotel wins my vote. I don't know what all of the naysayers are griping about?! The location is ideal. The Ostbahnhoff S-Bahn station is right across the street. A short walk over the bridge that spans the river Spree, is a safe neighborhood that houses restaurants, bars, an awesome laundromat, Gelato parlour, etc... The water pressure in our shower was, hands-down, the best I've found at any hotel. There were 4 USB ports in the room, that made charging our phones a cinch. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal! Like I said, "Brie for breakfast"! We found the hotel employees to be delightful. And our room was decent-sized (for being European). No, the rooms don't have a dedicated closet, or dresser. But they do have rods and hangers on the wall outside the restroom. So you can hang up clothing. This place is definitely "hipster". Geared toward the young AND single crowd. However, we stayed with our daughter, & never felt terribly out of place. I left my heart in Berlin. And considering that sentiment... I would stay at this hotel again, in a heartbeat!

Yelp
The theme of this hotel is not as nearly as awful as the staff. The establishment is run by unprofessional young adults who are inefficient at their jobs. Check in at the hotel took 20 minutes and there were many errors. Staff mixed up my credit card with another person checking in. They did not correct it when we pointed it out and at check out, they tried to charge my card for another room. Additionally, when ordering coffee staff members were in their own time frame and would complete the order as they felt the need to. They often laughed, yelled, cussed and talked to their peers in lieu of assisting customers. One staff member looked at me and said he did not have a clue how much to charge me, laughed, and walked away. The rooms appeared clean, however, the glass night tables appeared to have a lot of debris on them. The room and establishment were clean and efficient. The staff are awful. I would never go back.

Yelp
This is a super cool hipster hotel for young people. The design and layout are very non-traditional, very chilled atmosphere. Like breakfast, for example, is a buffet and you just take your tray anywhere in the hotel lobby to eat...which isn't that practical. The rooms are small...no closet, no fridge, only one tiny trash in the bathroom, no pool or gym. If you want something more fancy and classic I would just stay at a Marriott..

Yelp
Moxy Ostbahnhof is more of a motel than a hotel. Perhaps this Marriott hotel chain done up for the millennial set is trying to be too modern for its own good. There are no phones in the hotel, which doesn't seem as inconvenient as you'd think - until your third trip down to reception because there's no other quick way to speak to hotel staff than face-to-face. Before you ask me why I don't just use my mobile phone, there's also no direct line to the hotel either. Now, reception tends to be very busy because everyone else is trying to communicate with them, and again - there's no quick or immediate email/phone/text way to talk to the hotel staff. The room itself was basic. Decorated with a modern and flirty flare - but the bed was not very comfortable. I was in a double room, so if someone were with me, we'd get one pillow each. The shower drained slowly, so by the time I got out, I was standing in soapy water. When it came to solving a problem, the hotel staff was kind and helpful, but it was slow to be resolved. If I had to choose a positive experience during my stay - hanging out in the lobby was the best part and the WiFi is really, really fast - as advertised. I'd say, come and visit the hotel - hang out in the chic and fun lobby, but stay elsewhere for more comfort.

Yelp
Hipster hotel with friendly staff. Small rooms without closet or minibar. Good breakfast.

Tasya E.

Yelp
The two stars are purely based on location; the hotel is adorable and "hip" but across from it is a park that houses many homeless men who do their "business" in the open and the smell is horrific. Around the corner is a mall and outside the mall are men who stare and cat call and mumble inappropriate things as women walk past. It is no where near anything we wanted to see and I was NOT walking in this neighborhood so we had to Uber. We had been in Germany for three weeks and had previously walked everywhere so it was disappointing to feel so uneasy that we had to get an Uber instead of walking and taking in the entire city. Do yourself a favor and stay closer to town and no where near Wedding.
