My friend and I stayed here in October 2025. The staff were great - very kind and welcoming. I appreciated them going above and beyond to get us checked-in early (as we arrived in the mid-morning from a red-eye flight). I should have, however, waited for a non-accessible room. The room we were put in was just fine and very clean. However, the bathroom was terrible. Because of the accessibility, the shower was completely open. It is a terrible design and the whole bathroom floods because the water doesn't drain fast enough versus the monsoon-powered shower head pressure. Besides that, the property is nice and simple in a decent location near everything walkable in the city.

We are Bonvoy Ambassador members..my experience of this property is very disappointing... Though Excellent staff, great location.. room very very disappointing..doesn't provide even basic amenities that you normally get in a decent B&B. For the high price you get a simple bed , TV , four clothhangers on a garden mesh and clean bathroom.. that's it. If you are visiting with family than think again before considering this place.

The Moxy Dublin City is a fun hotel located near shops, pubs and various forms of transportation. Our room was clean and spacious, the lobby has games and music in the evening. Breakfast buffet was fairly inexpensive compared to American hotels, and much tastier. Real eggs, meat, cheeses and bread. We spent two nights, traveled for a week, and returned for another night. Letitia at the front desk was very friendly and helpful, and even remembered my name after a week! Dublin is a great, bustling city, and I hope to return. I would stay at The Moxy Dublin City again.

Google
Stayed at the Moxy Dublin City recently and honestly, it was a mixed experience. On the plus side, the hotel is clean and the housekeeper Fiona was friendly. The central location is also convenient, with many of Dublin’s main sights within walking distance.||However, there are some downsides that are hard to overlook. The rooms are very compact, with minimal storage, and no wardrobe, which quickly makes the space feel cramped and impractical.||Overall, Moxy Dublin City works if you just need a central base and don’t plan on spending much time in your room. But for the price, the lack of space, comfort, and polish makes it feel poor value, and it’s not somewhere I’d rush to stay again.

Google
Great hotel for leisure travelers. For business travelers, there is no closet, drawers, or desk which isn't ideal if staying for several days. There are numerous places to sit and work in the lobby though. The hotel service is incredible and any issues are promptly addressed. And, the location is right next to bus & tram lines which makes city navigation easy. Many sites are within walking distance also.

As a Marriott Bonvoy ambassador this is by far the worst room I have ever booked. The rooms have no closet to speak of just a wire mesh rack on the wall to hang your clothes and not a single drawer to put anything so you are in essence living out of your suitcase. also, no safe, and no microwave. I have traveled all over the world for my job always with Bonvoy and this is the first Marriott that I have experienced that does not have streaming TV service. The front desk could receive a refresher course in customer service and I am sure this hotel is tailored to a much younger demographic. my advice is for the money you could do much better in a sprawling city like Dublin.

Google
Good staff and new rooms. It is central to all things in Dublin and truly a great space to stay. If you want hipster, contemporary, modern vibes, this is your place. They also surprised my fiancé and I with balloons in the room for our honeymoon.

We love staying at the Moxy. It’s in a great location, the hotel itself is always clean and welcoming. The staff is great as well. You have to go see Sam at the bar, he’s the absolute best. This is where we stay when we travel to Dublin, and it will continue to be our go to hotel!

Yelp
It was a great stay and yes need some improvements in some places but over all was great specially the location. The Moxy Dublin City is a 3-star hotel located in the heart of Dublin's city center, at 1-5 Sackville Place, North City, Dublin, D01 H2Y2, Ireland. It is known for its modern and trendy atmosphere and is part of the Marriott Bonvoy brand. Here's a summary of its features: Streamlined and modern with a focus on maximizing space. Equipped with amenities like air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, 49-inch Smart TVs, rainfall showers, and free toiletries. Feature platform beds and floor-to-ceiling windows. Do not have traditional closets or drawers, but offer wall-mounted clothes racks. Room types include Queen & Single, Triple Single, Accessible Queen & Sofa, and Accessible Twin & Sofa options. Hotel Amenities and Features: 24/7 Bar and Restaurant: Offers specialty cocktails, light bites, and bar snacks. I describe it as trendy, stylish, and featuring communal spaces with a "hot pink vibe". 24-hour front desk and business center. Other Amenities: Dry cleaning/laundry services, electric car charging station, front-desk safe, TV in the lobby, elevator, coffee/tea in the lobby, and a foosball table. Check-in: Happens at the bar, where guests receive a complimentary cocktail (or mocktail) along with their room key

Yelp
Moxy has grown on me over the years, and I've stayed at several different locations. If you've stayed in one before, then you pretty know what you're going to get. They're modern but minimalistic. Their no frills, basic amenities don't bother me one bit. I had a pleasant 4-night stay at Moxy Dublin City. Honestly you can't beat the location. It's right by the city center, so walking over to O'Connell Street to see landmarks like The Spire was a 2 minute walk. The hotel was located right by the river, which made walks to the Temple Bar neighborhood very easy as well. Grafton Street, Guinness Storehouse, and the Jameson Distillery were a 10-minute taxi ride from the hotel. Staff members were friendly and helpful. We made many trips to the lobby bar, and the bartenders were awesome as well. My room was one of the biggest Moxy rooms I've stayed in. Moxy's rooms typically feel cramped to me, but my room in Dublin was considerably spacious. That being said, the bathroom was tiny. Sharing the bathroom with another person seemed impossible, and maneuvering in the shower may be challenging for a bigger person. It wasn't an issue for me, but just wanted to put that out there as it may be a make or break for others. They don't have wash cloths, which was a disappointment. If you've stayed at other Moxy's, then you know that hanging clothes is kind of their thing. I had a mounted metal gridwall panel for hanging my clothes. Unlike other Moxy's though, they didn't have drawer space (e.g. under the bed). If you absolutely need to straighten out your clothes, I would suggest asking for a steamer from the hotel or bringing a travel one. I had restful nights of sleep my entire stay. My king size bed and pillows were comfortable, and my room was quiet. Pro tip: My room had lots of sockets, including 2 USB-C outlets. I totally forgot my European plug adapter, but you could buy them from the hotel lobby for 5 Euros. I observed that this was much cheaper than purchasing one from local stores and later at the airport on my return flight.

Yelp
Just read a review lamenting that there was only one chair in the room. Mate, there isn't space for a second one. Per square meter, this might be the most expensive Marriott room I've ever had! Can't be more than 10-12 square meters! Bed with a small shelf on each side instead of end tables. No flat space to put anything down, except a small space above the toilet and sink. No dresser or closet. A small alcove with hangers on the wall to hang a couple of items. Alcove is so narrow that a normal suitcase will not lay open. We are absolutely dreading the early tomorrow morning construction that our window has a spectacular view of.

Yelp
Hotel geared towards a younger crowd. Stayed here for a couple of nights with my friend, who wanted to get Marriott points. We got welcome drink coupons when we checked in, although they're limited to the drink of the day with no substitutions allowed. In terms of the restroom, they provided a shampoo/body wash and conditioner. Hair dryer was available. We didn't see a safe box or ironing board. The shower pressure was good and the hot water did get up to 40C. They have breakfast for purchase and a large lounge area. They have lockers for storage in front of the elevator. I liked that the hallway lights only turned on when someone was walking by in an effort to conserve energy.

Yelp
They could use some customer service training when told an item has been removed from the room. I stayed at this property 7/15-7/17/24. My Bose earbuds disappeared from my room when it was cleaned. I thought I had misplaced them. I tore the room apart including luggage and they were nowhere. I reported it when checking out and they didn't seem to care. I emailed the property twice notifying them of the problem. Their response was that they didn't find anything in the room and I should file a police report. I am back in the states and politely informed them that the item wasn't lost, it had been removed when the room was cleaned. There are no safes in the room so it's hard to hide valuable items and that was pointed out. They clearly don't care and I won't stay there again. Truly a sad issue as my stay was mostly positive until this issue.

Yelp
I've been to other Moxy locations, and this one offers an incredible 5-euro breakfast if you can manage to rise in time. It ends at 10 am. The room appeared unused for a while, evident from the dusty plastic cup lids. This place provided disposable cups instead of ceramic mugs like the London location. The wifi and the lobby here is more spacious, and I appreciated the complimentary drinks with a choice of alcoholic beverages, bottled water, tea, or coffee. They offered Muk brand hair shampoo and conditioner, claiming to soften hair, but it didn't work well with my course hair and caused dandruff. It was an embarrassing outcome. Although lacking a mini arcade, I found the hall phones and hotel room phone for emergencies to feel more safe there. A fire alarm went off in the London location and it left me feeling uneasy and distressed due to the London location didn't have phones and no one picked up my calls either. I do want to add that this location uses Traveladvisor for feedback. Despite this, I enjoyed an amazing rate during my stay and I was able to get an extension on check out. I would suggest this Moxy location and explore other Moxy around the world.

Yelp
The Moxy is a trendy hotel is an excellent location to explore all of downtown Dublin. It is a minimalist hotel, as rooms have limited furnishings and the hotel offers limited services. As long as you keep that in mind, I know the friendly staff will make sure you enjoy your stay. When I say limited furnishings, I mean you get a bed and a bathroom. There is no closet nor a desk. There is a hip "rack" with a few hangers for you to hang up your clothes. While the room is a decent size and kept clean. In fact, maid service came every day during my stay - even while other hotels have shifted to limited service. Breakfast is included. Like the rooms, it is fairly basic. You'll get all-you-can-eat continental style breakfast with decent hours. The staff is friendly. Anthony checked me in quickly and offered a few tips in exploring the town. Him and Clayton even did a riddle contest for a free drink. While I don't remember everyone else's name, everyone was just as friendly. Considering the price point, I think the overall value is there. Keeping in mind the location, I suspect I'll be back on a future trip. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is a decent hotel to stay in and the location is close to the city center, which makes walking places very convenient. The room is modern and updated. It has no closet, just a wire rack attached to the wall and some hangers provided. This isn't a big deal to me. However, I do wish they provided two luggage stands instead of just 1, because there's no desk or chair in the room so if you have two people staying in 1 room then the luggage has to go on the floor. There is also no fridge or microwave in the room. The AC works nicely, which was important because we stayed during a heat wave. The downstairs lobby/lounge is nice. It's got plenty of seating and tables. There's also an ATM if you need it. One night we got takeout and ate it down in the lounge. The problem is there are no trash bins down there so we had to go walking in the street to find a place to throw away our takeout containers. I would say don't bother with the continental breakfast. We had a look and it didn't look very good. There were sliced meats, cheeses, cereal, juice, and not much else. With such a lot of restaurants in the area, your money would be better spent going out for breakfast. Check out is 12 pm, but when we returned to our room at 11:55 am to get our luggage, the key had already stopped working which required a trip down to the lobby to get new keys.

Gregory M.

Yelp
While decorated nicely it is not a very well thought out I. Terms of space. There are no closets, just a grid to hang a few hangers. There are no shelves or places to hold anything. Air conditioning is poor and the shower is hard to use. If you are looking for this vibe but done correctly try the NYX Hotel Portobello. Superior in every way.

Yelp
The hotel lobby looks really cool, but that's about it. I'm from the NYC area and in Dublin for the first time on Business. There were 3 hotels near Saint Stephen's Green that were under the Marriott umbrella: * The Shelbourne (over the company allowance) * Aloft Hotel (I've stayed at other Aloft's before, which are fine) * Moxy Hotel (middle of the 3) I chose the middle one partly because there's a Moxy Hotel in NYC. I've never stayed at that hotel, but I've had Brunch at a really TRENDY spot there called "Magic Hour"...so yes, choosing the Moxy Hotel Dublin was partly because of brand recognition. Pros: * Cool trendy lobby! * Big / long bar * Hotel scent smells amazing! * That is all... Cons: * Hard mattress * Hard pillows * ONE trash bin in the bathroom (none in bedroom?!) * No closet?! * No iron and ironing board * No in-room safe * No credenza or desk near the TV * No refrigerator to store leftovers from dinner * No amenities in lobby for sale (wife needed contact lens solution) * Creepy to walk out of hotel room and entire hallway is dark / motion sensor triggered (I understand saving energy, but perhaps some floor illumination) * No HDMI input to TV built into tiny credenza to plug in a laptop. (No I don't want to use your Chromecast, I wanted to use the spare Apple TV I packed in my suitcase).

Yelp
Accommodations... 3/5 Service... 4/5 Locations... 5/5 This location is one of the best locations for a hotel in the city. Two blocks to the River Liffey and one block from O'Connell Street. No matter what your plans are for the day, this is a convenient location for you! The location was the best feature of this hotel. The name of this hotel's game is minimalist, and the accommodations are extraordinarily sparse. Do not expect the extra mile because you're lucky to have a series of bars to hang your closet instead of closet. The hotel staff were very helpful. They were able to point us in the right direction or help us out most of the time.

Gerry B.

Yelp
I like the vibe of the Moxy. They have a very diverse staff. When you enter, it always smells great. There's a trendy feel with different areas - bar, tables, benches, lounge, and work area. It is across the street from the Marlborough Station for the Green Line of the Luas which is convenient since whenever I am in town I usually meet in shared offices near St. Stephens Green which is on the Green Line. When it's not raining, I can walk from the Moxy to St. Stephens Green. There is quite a lot to do within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms are small. They do not have an iron, ironing board or closets which I like to use when I travel.

Yelp
Isabelle, receptionist is so sweet and kind. I checked in with her , she is so great. I realized that I need the adapter but it's very late and I asked her for where can I get it. She said it's kinda late , they closed and she offered us. Omg!!!! Definitely come back because of her. Thank you so much. You made my trip!!!

Yelp
Not the Westin or Shellbourne but totally fine for a sleep and shower kind of place. The reviews about it being a minimalist hotel, all very true, bed, towels, hair dryer, TV. All very clean and tidy and showers have shampoo & conditioner in them. The entrance area is very cheerful and the lounge chairs comfy. Staff very attentive and friendly. In a great part of city center, very central- I would go back!

Yelp
Let me be super honest here: We stayed two nights at this hotel when we arrived in Dublin. The room was €250 a night for two. It's supposed to be a 3-star hotel. I didn't see that. Yes, the hotel is cool looking (it will look so late in 5 years, good luck with that style. Pseudo hype)! The service was quite ridiculous. Asking for extra pillows looked like we were asking for free hand-fed foie-gras! Ridiculous. Both my husband and I have back problems. I didn't need to explain that and get a hard time from the staff! It's almost like they wanted a Dr's note, because they didn't believe us. Anyway... Moving on, we asked for a second luggage rack, because, you know, it's not because you're married that you share a luggage! Same thing, it was difficult and I needed to explain myself. Funny thing, I'm a Marriott member! Topping-it off; the room had NO CLOSET! Are you kidding me? Not a seat, just two small beds with very gross linen. I mean. This was probably the worst hotel I have stayed that's part of a Marriott. The day after, we went to Mount Juliet Estate. €250 a night, 5-star and it felt like I was royalty. Save yourself the bother of going to this hotel and jump in the car to go to Mount Juliet Estate. You'll thank me later. Cheers.

Yelp
It's five stars without being your mom and dads version, like a RitzCarlton. It's fun and high energy, party-like atmosphere/ free drink on arrival checking in. Very helpful front desk staff eager to please. The rooms were super clean and ac worked great. Loved this place would stay here again anytime...great location as well

LS C.

Yelp
Clean hotel in a great location. The room is small with no closet and no drawers. Do not expect to unpack. The only place to put stuff is a rack with 4 hangers. No safe in the room either. Security is tight. Doors locked and need security to let you in after 11pm.

JJ K.

Yelp
The hotel was great - new, extremely clean and an awesome, central location. Everyone that I met that worked there was so friendly and very accommodating. I left a brand new, white "hoodie" Under Armour sweatshirt that was only worn once and less than 24 hours old, behind. I hung it on the door and forgot it. 100% totally my fault and I admit that. I remembered it the very next day and called, hoping it had been turned in. It wasn't. I left my name and number in case someone turned it in later but to no avail. I didn't expect it to be. As much as I know it's my own fault for not being thorough, and 1 person with loose fingers or a "finders keepers" attitude is certainly not a reflection on all the good people who work there, it would have been a lot better if I could have written about their strong integrity and not the lack of. My mistake aside - yes I would recommend it and probably stay again.

Yelp
This hotel and their General Manager is terrible. The room we booked was supposed to be a queen bed and a full pullout coach. Instead we were given a handicapped bathroom that we did not request. When we let them know it was unacceptable and that we were going to a different hotel, they preceded to charge us a $150 fee. The GM would not listen to us as he did not care at all that I'm a Marriott Platinum Elite. Run don't walk away from this hotel in Dublin City. You'll be glad you did. The worst ever for us.

Scott G.

Yelp
Only 1 of 2 elevators working. Breakfast not ready on time and the eggs tasted off. Shower in our room started backing up and flooding the room with drain water. Manager came up to "fix" it and it was full of hair and gunk. Shower had definitely not been cleaned properly since the water running for no time at all flooded the room. Manager was then going to leave the mess. I had to tell him that someone needed to mop up the water and sanitize the floor. Eventually a bartender came up with a dry mop and said he didn't know where cleaning materials were. I had to go back downstairs and speak to the manager who then sent the bartender up a second time to finally clean properly. Finally he said he would give a 10% discount. On checking out 36 hours later computers were down and no one could verify the discount rate. Supposedly it had been applied for but wasn't on the bill. Whatever that means.... About the room. No chairs, no tables, no place to put anything really. 'Clean' towels smelled like vinegar. Not even a place to hang a hand towel...which is why your towels will just be on your bed when you arrive. Parking is far from the hotel.

Yelp
AVOID!!!!! 1. Construction at all hours in buildings next to hotel. - upon check-in I (Platinum member) requested not to be near construction... I am right next to it. They say they have no control when they stop.. really????? 2. Clueless staff about what to recommend for restaurants. 3. The Room: - No Iron/ Ironing Board - Safe - No Glasses - No refrigerator - No desk - No desk chair - Mattress is hard and horrible - Front desk never answers - TV Malfunctions (see photos) 4. The Lobby - TV on loop promoting hotel- silly I wish I could have left. If you are young and expect a great lobby... then have at it!!!-

Yelp
The good; very clean rooms, trendy bar/lounge The bad; reception area ia in the lounge, at the bar. Not very clearly marked. The conceirge just watched us walk aimlessly around (hey a "can I help you" would have been a kind welcome The lighting in the room, just strange. Bed lights up when you get off of it, very bright. No closet. 4 hangers on a grid that ha gs on the wall. No dresser, just throw your clothes on the floor We were placed on the construction side of the hotel. Omg. 7am jackhammers! Then our room started to smell like exhaust. By advice, Dublin is huge, go elsewhere

C B.

Yelp
Too spartan. No safe, iron, clock, frig, coffee or tea in room, and no place roo put anything...except the floor. Heat turns off by itself and is hard to keep at comfortable temp. Staff are nice and helpful. Locker system in lobby is very poor substitute for an actual safe. Wheelchair access is pretty good, including bathrooms in room and bar. Convenient location, though the streets outside are pretty dingy. No views to speak of on floors 2 and 3.

Edward S.

Yelp
Minimalistic room. No iron (down the hall in an iron room), no tea pot, no coffee maker, no desk, no dresser. Plumbing sort of worked. The front desk screwed up my taxi request. They had the cab coming one hour earlier than requested (I caught this one and got it corrected). They also screwed up my room number which was given to the driver. Fortunately the driver had common sense and took me to the airport (they used the room number instead of name for the car reservations). They don't know how to reset the television welcome and language. I was greeted on the tv with someone else's name which made me wonder if they had double booked the room. The normal English was replaced by German. Small uncomfortable pillows. Minimal covers. On the positive side it was clean. This place makes a Fairfield Inn look high end.

Yelp
HUGE POOP & CLUMP OF HAIR left in toilet! Yeah, that's the sight that I walked into upon entering our room. Never have I been more disgusted. I wanted to gag then and I want to gag now while writing this. Clearly the hotel does not take cleaning seriously, and I was wary of everything else in the room. I wanted to forget this sight but I was reminded by a hotel horror story I was listening to today that prompted me to write this review. To add insult to injury, we were charged full price for a free drink that we were promised by the bartender. Upon checking in, we were given a drink voucher each to redeem at the bar. When I was downstairs waiting to check out, I wanted to grab a drink but forgot to bring the voucher with me. The bartender told us that it was okay and that he'll honor it anyway. Once we reviewed our bill later, we found that they charged us for that complimentary drink! This whole experience have left a terrible stain on my memory of this hotel. Avoid at all cost!

Yelp
Easily one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The location is terrific---and that's it. They tried putting us in a room on the second floor that looked and smelled like a room in a convalescent hospital. It was wheelchair accessible---which we didn't want or need---and literally smelled like urine. They moved us into a room with no closet---no drawers---no counter space---no space for anything! Not even an outlet in the bathroom. The staff is rude and acts like these accommodations are acceptable in Europe. I've lived in Europe and traveled it extensively---this is not acceptable. DO NOT BOOK here---do not let the photos fool you. It's total crap.

shellie ..

Yelp
This is a very basic needs hotel. The only good thing I can say is that it is clean. The mattresses were hard as a rock, and we had 2 different rooms with 2 beds each, so it was not an isolated thing. There is no AC, only a fan that shuts itself off after a couple of hours. We spoke to reception about it and they said something about environmental regulations not allowing AC to operate between midnight and 4:00 AM. I explained that the thermostat would not allow us to turn it on no matter what time of day it was. They basically said there was nothing they could do. I bought a pre-packaged sandwich in the refrigerated section of the restaurant that tasted like it had been made 3 months prior. We ordered fish and chips and wings as well. The fish was completely burned. The wings were edible. This hotel has no room service either. There is no refrigerator, or safe in the rooms. My husband asked about lockers to rent in the lobby and was told that if we do not return after 10 hours, the locker door "pops open" on its own. I am shocked that this is a Marriott hotel. They need to stop spending so much money on making the lobby look funky and buy some decent mattresses and toilet paper!

Yelp
I made reservations, prepaid, two months in advance before the world was hit with COVID-19. Due to travel restrictions, I'm unable to make the trip and this hotel has not been accommodating to refund or help with my situation. I'm a Lifetime Bonvoy Titanium Elite member and no flexibility with help during this worldwide issue. I hope everyone will remember all companies like this one when things restore back in order and not give them business. Shame on Moxy Dublin.
google avatar

Brandon C.

Yelp
This hotel l is not a reasonable option at all for anyone travelling with reasonable expectations of the basics that should be available to hotel customers. I travel with medication and have always needed a small refrigerator in my room. This is in my profile settings in my Bonvoy account. After checking in, I was told that I could bring my medication down to the bar refrigerator and "they would put it in the bar." The hotel manager told me this. Next, the fact there is no closet nor iron/ironing board is just not acceptable. As an Ambassador Elite, I rarely complain even though I stay in many hotels when travel is normal. I can attest I will never stay at a Moxy again and will provide reviews on other sites because I believe strongly that the way this hotel treated me as a customer was something no one should experience. My original reservation was for 4 days and I checked out after 1 night.

Yelp
This is, hands down, the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are tiny. The bathroom is so small that you can't even stand at the sink and have the door open. I'm pretty sure that whoever designed the shower has never actually been in one or they wouldn't have put the controls on the complete opposite side of the door so that you have to reach all the way in and get wet to turn it on. The room has no drawers, dresser, or closet so you literally have to live out of your suitcase save for the wire mess they have on the wall to hang some things. You can hear the tram that's in front of the building from your room. The mattress might as well be made out of cement. All that being said, it gets worse. I got a call from the hotel around 9:30am that they HAD to enter the room to install a sign within the next thirty minutes. There was zero notice prior to this and I am sure as hell not letting someone into my room while I'm half asleep and trying to get ready. Why did they need to enter specifically in the next thirty minutes? Because maintenance was apparently off after that. Sorry, but that's not my problem that you did exactly zero planning. Do not stay at this place as you will 100% regret it. You'd be better off bunking up with one of the homeless people a few blocks away.

Beautiful and trendy! Staff has been great so far & downstairs lobby is a great place to hang out & have drinks. Rooms are small & minimal but expected that from previous research, etc.. Fair warning- a decent amount of construction going on nearby but we're hardly in the room so it hasn't been an issue for us :)
