They use costco fries here and just overall my go-to shawarma place in waterloo

After 5 years, I drove from Toronto just to revisit Mozy’s. That massive rotating rotisserie still rules the kitchen, and the aroma? Unchanged magic. ORDER:Chicken Shawarma Plate (half rice + half fries). Tender shaved chicken, golden rice, crispy fries + warm pita, ALL drowned in their legendary fresh garlic sauce— creamy, punchy, PERFECT. Why I love it: ✅ Generous portions ✅ Fresh ingredients ✅ Waterloo student landmark— tastes like memories! Wrap lovers: Their shawarma wraps are solid too! PS: Come hungry, leave happy (and maybe with leftovers 😉).

Review specifically for catering. I ordered Mozy's for two high school events I hosted. Communication by email was straightforward, very easy to find an option that fit my budget and would please the guests. The delivery was perfectly on time both days and the delivery person was very helpful in ensuring I could transport all the food safely. The food portions are very generous! We got a simple shawarma platter (rice, fries and chicken/falafel), and it came with portions of tahini and garlic sauces. The students loved the lunch.

Had a really disappointing experience. I ordered the buy one, get one shawarma deal for $20 through Uber Eats for takeout, hoping to get proper shawarmas like before. What I received was honestly a joke. The person preparing it put in about four pickles and just a tiny bit of chicken. The taste was terrible. The bread was burned and dripping with old oil. When I asked for some vegetables to be added, I was told that the “proper” shawarma is $15 each—so what exactly was I paying $20 for? It felt like zero value. This place used to be my favourite in Waterloo when they made real shawarma. Now the quality has become the worst. Very disappointing.

My wife and I were very sad when the Cambridge Mozy's Shawarma closed down for some reason. But luckily there was another location in Waterloo! And we have started ordering from them a few times a month now. Mozy's Shawarma is one of our favourite places to eat at and the staff are always very accommodating with the specifications for my wife's dietary preferences.

Other than the staff (and the lettuce - please change it back), hasn't changed a bit since High School in 2008 - always my #1, and all other Shawarma's are compared against you Mozy's. Topping fresh, garlic sauce amazing, and the signature grilled with the juices from the spit... amazing.

In the unassuming culinary landscape of Waterloo, there lies a temple of flavour so transcendent, so unapologetically alive, that it has become my unwavering go-to: Mozy’s Shawarma. To call it “mouth-watering” feels almost disrespectfully insufficient. What Mozy’s serves is not merely food — it is an edible aria, a slow dance between spice, tenderness, and fire, performed with the confidence of chefs who know exactly what they’re doing. Order the full-flavoured shawarma — and for the love of all things delicious, trust the chefs. Their hands move with the intuition of artisans who have long transcended the mortal realm of recipes. Every slice of marinated meat feels like a carefully crafted note in a culinary symphony, every sauce a brushstroke of deliberate genius. The first bite? A moment of existential clarity. Waterloo may be a city of students and startups, but within Mozy’s, it transforms into a destination worthy of a pilgrimage. And so, consider this a directive, not a suggestion: If you are in Waterloo, you must visit Mozy’s. Not to do so would be to deprive yourself of one of the city’s few truly transcendent experiences. Mozy’s isn’t just a restaurant. It is, quite simply, enlightenment wrapped in pita.

Ordered off Uber eats and basically got just the roti. There was absolutely nothing inside. Of what is inside it's completely dry. The fact they're overcharging ($16) for this kind of food is ridiculous. The pictures don't show this well but there's basically like 3-4 tablespoons worth of chicken inside (for context the pickle jar is only 300 g mini jar). Better to go to any other shawarma place just around the corner Edit: in response to the owner, I’ve had mozys in the past (over a year ago) and it’s been fine in terms of the amount. This was literally nothing inside (no way close to 4 oz) and it was dry unfortunately. I’m not sure who made it today but it was definitely not it

The full-flavor shawarma from this place is the best one that I've ever had, by far! It is juicy, it is crispy, it is zesty, it is starchy, and it is packed with flavor - it is a freaking culinary masterpiece! Bravo!
