Tried this place because it was listed on Instagram as one of the top places for crabs in Baltimore. I can't confirm this because when predicting the crabs even were got there, I was told mediums were $85/dozen. Now, I love crabs as much as the the next Baltimorean, however, I AM NOT paying $85 for a dozen crabs when I know an awesome place two minutes from my house where I can get a bushel for $70. Not happening. So while I can't rate the crabs, I can rate what we did get and the service. Our server, Nancy, was awesome. She was super attentive, not only to our table, but each table we saw in her with. To top it off, she was probably the only server in the whole place that smiled every single time someone looked at her. It was amazing and she would be the reason I might come back. The food was meh. We ordered hushpuppies and crab tots as an appetizer. I enjoyed the hushpuppies, my husband enjoyed the tots. While the hushpuppies were a tad over cooked, the tots, to me, were much worse. Plus, there was so much cheese on them that they were clumped together and the crab dip on them was questionable. Most places were have gluten crab fries actually have lumps of crab meat in them and these didn't. At all. My husband ordered a pizza for dinner, but they wound up running out of dough so he got a chicken sandwich topped with crab dip, cheese and bacon and he loved it. His sandwich also came with a side of crab chips that I enjoyed. I ordered a pound of shrimp which came with potatoes and onions. Not so good. The shrimp were overcooked and there was so much seasoning on the potatoes that I couldn't eat them. Over I would be fine if we didn't return to Mr. Bill's. I'd rather check out the other two of the top three crab spots. Hopefully, they will fair much better.
