Mr. Brightside Rooftop Bar

Happy to share that our lunch was exceptional. We had an attentive and personable waiter who was very apologetic when I alerted him to a lipstick mark on my glass. We were given a free bottle of sparkling water and even a complimentary entree to add to our selection. The food was clearly made by a trained chef...beautifully presented and delicious! We literally finished every last bite. The only negative.. the tall bar-style chairs in the restaurant have a very hard rim at the front which gets uncomfortable after a while...but otherwise - would definitely happily return for another meal and recommend 🥰

Great food! Salmon sashimi is the best I’ve ever had! Plus wonderful live music from Mac & Mates band. TJ was such a wonderful singer and with the beautiful saxophone. We were so enjoyed our night out.

Amazing! The owner knows how to hire! Every time I come here all the staff I have had the pleasure to converse with have been exceptional. Not only do they know the menu drinks and food wise, they go above and beyond with great banter and friendliness. Great music, great vibe, great views, amazing sunny place, amazing cocktails. Hanna has only been here 3 days and I find her to be an asset to this team. She is extremely witty and made us laugh countless times amongst her many other skills and talents. She really made it the perfect Sunday vibe. Thanks all. Always love coming here. Caroline x

Dined in for lunch, had the Burrata which was really nice! Dosent say it on the menu but it comes with bread. We found the daiquiris to be a bit strong. New menu looks good! Good vegetarian options. Really lovely service from the staff.

Loved my experience here we did the $79 lunch deal it was absolutely spectacular!!!!! You get 4 cocktails you start off with a antipasto platter then 3 sets of different scewers then 4 dishes for main was unbelievable value. Also the customer service was excellent!! Lovely atmosphere we really enjoyed our experience i highly recommen this place for lunch and do the mr brightside lunch it will not dissapoint we left so satisfied definitely will be back 🙌

This has to be the greatest bar in New Zealand. Fantastic views of the river and a colorful Christchurch sunset. Incredible staff, shout out to Eli for his pleasant conversation and professionalism. We met the owner and he made my wife and I a delicious cocktail that only this bar has, it was sweet, clean and gave a nice kick. The DJ was non invasive but had really good music that made a great classy vibe. We went to check out other bars after our first set of cocktails here, only to return 15min later due to lack of vibe at all the other riverside bars. Came here 5 years ago, and have promised ourselves to come back next time we are in Christchurch. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

On our bar crawl, we stopped in for a quick cocktail and ended up having the best service of the entire night thanks to Eli. Drink recommendations were top tier, the fries were dangerously good, and the vibes were absolutely immaculate. Also—not to be dramatic—but Eli is very easy on the eyes. Like, “is this a restaurant or a runway?” easy on the eyes. Somehow managed to stay completely professional while serving looks and excellent service. Honestly unfair to the other servers. Would 100% come back and hope the Eli lottery hits again.

As always, such a reliability top notch venue you can enjoy live wholeheartedly 👌.... Superb customer service that is absolutely world class. I'm delighted to specifically commend Eli and Izzy for their exceptional service standards 👌
