Mr Cheap Transport - Furniture Removal and Moving Company in Cape Town

My experience with Mr Cheap Furniture Removals has left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. Not only were they extremely late for both the scheduled move and the drop off in Joburg and Cape Town, but they also failed to deliver on the basic promises of their service. Chronic Lateness: On the day of delivery of my furniture, I had to rearrange my entire schedule because of their extreme lateness (which had to be the following day). Lack of Protective Covering: Despite paying extra for protective covering for my belongings, it seems like my investment was in vain. None of my items were adequately covered, leaving them vulnerable to damage during transit.I was shocked to discover that items such as the fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer, couch, headboard, and bed bases were left completely exposed, vulnerable to scratches, dents, tears and other damages (and on top of that, I kept my belongings in their storage for a month, so everything came back filthy). Absence of Apology: Despite enduring a two-week ordeal of damaged belongings, I have not received a single apology from MR CHEAP. They clearly prioritizes sales over customer service…This lack of basic courtesy speaks volumes about their disregard for customer satisfaction and highlights a severe deficiency in their customer service ethos. Unfulfilled Promises: The company's failure to deliver on the most basic aspects of their service demonstrates a lack of accountability and professionalism. It's evident that customer satisfaction is not a priority for them, which is deeply concerning for anyone considering their services. In conclusion, my experience with Mr Cheap has been characterized by disappointment, frustration, and a profound sense of disregard for customer wellbeing. I strongly advise against engaging their services, as their lack of accountability and customer care is indicative of a deeply flawed company culture. P.S. the blue plastic container was perfectly fine when it was moved… I can’t help but wonder, were they just throwing things across? Boxes arrived opened. Scary thought that your belongings can arrive in such a condition.

Wow what amazing service. From the moment of me booking the move to the drop off of the furniture. Steve the driver, communicated constantly. Drop off was done after hours and still all staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you for excellent service.

Possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. If you expect half decent service, look elsewhere. If you expect good communication, look elsewhere. Just look anywhere else but this company. You can send an email and weeks may pass before you get a response if you don't follow up yourself. Don't even bother calling any of their contact numbers as they almost never work. I was told for almost 2 months that the driver, who would be handling the collection of our items, will be contact with me before collection day to confirm a time. The driver called me the day of collection. We couldn't get a concrete answer on when the items would be delivered until a day before delivery - 10 days after collection. The miscommunication is astounding. It's a confusing mess of emails, back and forth for no reason. They add so much stress to an already stressful event like a move. Do not transport your house plants with them. They will be delivered in tatters and over watered on the brink of death (even though I had specifically asked the plants not be watered). You can also expect your items to be delivered with dirt and grime all over it. Boxes are not handled with care and returned mangled and with holes in them. Mr Cheap is not cheap. Save yourself weeks of headache and frustration and choose a different company because ANY OTHER company is better.

I had a fantastic experience with Mr Cheap Transport. They offered a very affordable service and arrived exactly on time, just as promised. They were even flexible enough to let me pack a few extra items that weren’t part of our original agreement without any hassle. My belongings arrived right on schedule, and they went above and beyond by helping me move everything into my new house. They truly made what is usually a stressful process much easier. Highly recommend them!

DO NOT USE! Have had thee worst experience with this company. Sales rep overpromised and its been past their standard 7-10 working day delivery period and my things have not been delivered in full. Partial delivery occurred after 20:00-23:00 a week after the promised date and the remaining items are nowhere to be seen another week later. I called them to find out where the rest of my stuff is (which contains important medical equipment as well) and they keep telling me "It will be delivered end of next week" which has been the case for the last two weeks as well. Their staff are unwilling to help and have even laughed at me in my face when I went to seek help at their offices, but when they want payment they will call you every 2min. There is zero accountability and zero care for clients even after having paid in full and being harassed for payment minutes after being issued an invoice for "extra items". I have kept all records of communication with them to corroborate my experience with them. Absolutely terrible. [Update]: They just emailed making baseless claims and have now pushed my delivery to possibly next week or mid Jan or I pay them an additional R6000 for them to deliver sooner even though they are the ones who are late with my delivery. Absolutely shameless! DO NOT USE!
