A rare 5 star food review but Hobart knocked it out of the park for us! This place was close to our hotel and after a long day of travel and settling in we were best and decided close was easy and best for a couple of tiny tired legs. And my word was it a FANTASTIC CHOICE! Took the kids order first and fast and provided drawing materials to keep them occupied. Chicken nuggets and chips for Mr 3. MIss 5 got Spag Bol and we expected the usual spag bol for kids....it was absolutely beautiful. Slow cooked with amazing flavours. Devoured in no time and asked for seconds! Now for the adults. Two bao bun starters - char siu pork and ayam goreng fried chicken. Both absolutely bursting with flavour. I wish we had ordered a few more! Main courses we had the Vietnamese caramelized pork belly with pepper prawns and a Thai green curry. Now I like my spice and I asked for it authentic - any my word was it hot! Beautiful and spicy and bursting with flavour. Easily one of the nicest Thai green curries I have ever tasted. No dessert as we were ready to pop after all that. Couple of cocktails that were lovely as well. Blown away by the beautiful food and the wonderful service. We will return on our next trip to Hobart.

Located on the ground floor of the Ibis Styles on Macquarie St, this amazing gem of an Asian eatery blew me away with its terrific quality food and attentive service. What’s more, there’s also a cool bar in the restaurant where you can get a few sneaky drinks or cocktails while you indulge in this little piece of Asia within Tasmania!

Beautiful space. Good vibes. Buzzing. Food flavours were amazing - picks were pork belly and pink eye potatoes. The duck was okay and the bao was moist. Do recommend. Very tasty, especially after a long time waiting to attend.

Amazing food! Very cool place situated on ground floor of the Ibis Style Hobart. Multiple seating areas including the bar area. Food is cooked in view of patrons, trendy vibe with lots of colour. Food speaks for itself, great range of drinks on offer + great friendly service. I can highly recommend coming in for a good feed 😁👌

We have been here multiple times. Running out of dishes to try but the menu does change with the change of seasons. The quality of the food is exceptional. Everything from the entrees, smaller plates to larger plates and desserts. Highly recommended if you are in Hobart.

No notes! The restaurant is stunning, the service was impeccable, and the food was flawless. The staff were so lovely and attentive. The food was unreal! Definitely worth checking out.

Had a wonderful outing with my wife at the restaurant. The waiter gave a good introduction to some of the food on the menu. It was creative to have fried chicken as filling in Chinese bun. The seafood Char Kway Teow was tasty. The lamb ribs were soft and my wife actually thought they were pork ribs. Well done to the team.

Ok, this was a surprised find. I would recommend this! Uncle Roger would approve the “wok hei”. Seriously, the few dishes we’d tried suggest this is worth coming back. - Prawn Char Kway Teow has good “wok hei” and wasn’t swimming in oil. It could benefit from a splash of eggs and some crunchy rendered pork fat cubes. - Lamb ribs in Thai tamarind sauce was a delightful start. - Vietnamese caramelised pork belly and pepper prawns was nicely flavoured, the pork was melt in mouth soft with a right outer charred texture. This was a highlight. I would suggest make it more peppery to really drive home the flavour notes of this dish. Very positive, we will be back!

Yelp
The first time we visited Mr Good Guy we were disappointed with the meals and service we received. However, after speaking with the General Manager about our experience we were very impressed with how he took the feedback onboard and went to great lengths to make improvements. When we returned, the service and meals were exceptional and could not be faulted! Kudos to the Manager and team for accepting feedback and going above and beyond to not only make improvements but exceed expectations. We look forward to returning again in the near future. Thank you for the friendly and personalized service as well as for the most delicious appetizers, mains and desert.

Yelp
On our first night in Hobart, we were a bit tired from a week of walking around in the hustle and bustle of Sydney, and then an afternoon walking through the Salamanca Market, so we decided to take the oath of least resistance and check this place out, which is located on the ground floor of the Ibis Styles hotel, where we're staying. They've got a decent menu, not overly large, and lots of interesting options. I went with the Hainanese chicken, hubs went with the fried rice. Both were super yummy, and I appreciated that they had the full complement of Asian condiments available: Sriracha, soy, sambala chili sauce, fish sauce, you name it. Servers were friendly and service was a-ok.
