Wonderful hotel experience with a great homely boutique-vibe. Location is perfect - walking distance to city center, all sights and central station. Staff was great and polite. Free coffee and drinks during the stay and snack bags for the road when we left. Locted in a vibrant neighborhood with small shops and many cafes and some of the best restaurants in town. Beds were comfortable, but expect small rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast was OK but not special, probably a little overpriced - but nice fall-back option - plenty of breakfast options in the neighborhood.

If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would! We loved this boutique hotel in Amsterdam, which has an excellent location, but even better amenities and staff. Everyone was super accommodating and welcoming. The area next to the lobby was very cozy and perfect to enjoy a cup of tea and a light read. I found the space to be extremely clean as well (I have borderline unreasonable standards when it comes to this) which meant a lot. I will be sharing this location with all my friends and family who travel to Amsterdam and look forward to our next stay 🩷

What a beautiful stay we had at Mr Jordaan. The location was absolutely beautiful on the canels. Jordaan is such a gorgeous locality. |The rooms were impeccably clean, and attended to in so much detail each day. |The staff were incredibly polite and helpful.|Little extras offered (danishes in the evening, board games, soft drinks, and a ‘goody bag’ to take on your onward journey) were such lovely welcome extras. |This wonderful little hotel sets itself apart from all others, and I would highly recommend a stay here. |Thank you for making Amsterdam so memorable for us.

My daughter and I visited Amsterdam to celebrate her 18th birthday. We stayed at Mr Jordaan Hotel and are so glad that we did. It's a beautiful place and so welcoming. All of the staff are lovely, friendly and really helpful. It's a very laid back hotel where you feel very much at home. Our room was perfect and the place was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Amsterdam.

Our stay at Mr. Jordaan’s was wonderful! The staff were super helpful and friendly. The room was cute and the bed was comfy. It was far enough away from the noise of the tourists but close enough to everything we wanted to do in walking distance. They had a yummy continental breakfast in the morning and coffee available all day!

We had such a wonderful stay at Mr Jordaan! The hotel is situated in our favourite area of Amsterdam as it is so peaceful, the canals are beautiful, and there are lots of lovely independent shops and cafes nearby. We really felt spoilt with the free hot drinks machine in the lobby, pastries available every afternoon, sweets and stroopwafels when we arrived, a bag of snacks for our journey home, and even some treats left on our bed for the feast of Sinterklaas! There are so many other nice touches around the hotel that make it feel really personal and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and quiet with an excellent shower. Thank you - we can't wait to come back!

Google
Lovely hotel. Feels very boutique. It’s in a very walkable, charming area. It’s clean, quiet hotel and the coffee, tea & sweets in the lobby are a huge plus! Do note: the elevator is very slow - I stayed on the 3rd floor so was ok, but if you plan to stay on a higher floor, something to keep in mind. Will definitely stay here next time I visit

We absolutely loved our stay at Mr. Jordaan! The hotel is gorgeous and in the most charming location — right beside the Anne Frank House and surrounded by cute canals and cafés. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even helping us with our luggage and giving us a quick tour of the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgraded room, which made our stay even more special. Everything about this place feels cozy, stylish, and personal. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Amsterdam!

Yelp
Absolutely loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam!! It is in the beautiful Jordaan area right by the Anne Frank museum, Tulip musekm, and De 9 Straatjes with lots of cafes and shopping. The area feels very safe. Liked the interior decor/design and focus on eco-friendly sustainable practices as well. The staff are super friendly and helpful - they provided a map and made lots of great recommendations regarding restaurants and things to see. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious - has A/C. There is a safe available in the room as well, though there was no fridge. Loved all the snacks they provided, from the gummy bears in the room, to pastries and coffee in the communal area downstairs. They also provided a snack goodie bag on checkout though I forgot to pick mine up when I went back to pick up my stored luggage at the end of the day. Overall, a fantastic stay and would highly recommend!

Yelp
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at in all of Europe. The staff was extremely friendly and was super helpful in helping you get around the city and giving suggestions. The free coffee machine tasted amazing and had lots of options, and it saved us so much money from not having to buy coffee at cafes! The room was beautiful and you can play all types of games in the lobby. Dami at the front desk was super helpful and helped us navigate to everywhere we wanted to go. She made our trip so much better by being so helpful and telling us all about the transit and giving us lists of restaurants, events etc. She was super sweet and has incredible customer service skills! Definitely recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I came out of yelp semi-retirement to tell you all how great this hotel is. When I visit a new place, I try to stay in a unique spot that reflects the local culture and vibe. Meaning I try to avoid the holiday inns and marriotts of the world. And Mr. Jordaan was the absolute perfect choice for my five day getaway with my bestie. Believe me when I say every detail has been attended to here. The location is perfect and walkable (or bike-able) to pretty much anywhere in Amsterdam. It is located right across the street from the Anne Frank house, as well as a few nice coffee shops and other points of interest. I can't help it, I love free stuff, and Mr. Jordaan delivered. The coffee machine was well appointed and always accessible. We were allowed two free sodas or other beverages a day from their cooler which was very generous. And upon our departure we were given a lovely bag of drinks, treats, and other travel essentials. Oh and there is a collection of post cards that travelers can take as collectibles or pay a nominal fee to mail to someone back home. Everywhere we turned in this hotel, there was another adorable feature to explore. Photo albums, interesting books, cute merch available for purchase, and sample travel itineraries. It almost felt like one of those escape rooms with all of the hidden little tips and tricks. All of this to say that I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam. Though I never met Mr. Jordaan, and wonder if he actually exists, he guided me not unlike the wizard of oz behind the curtain to enjoy one of the most intriguing and action-packed trip of my life.

Yelp
Welcome to the Jordaan and the Mr. Jordaan hotel. A quaint, welcoming and cozy small hotel in the Jordaan district of Amsterdam. European hotel rooms tend to be small but the Mr Jordaan was roomy by European standards. No closet but a small valet and shelving to hang clothes. A small desk/vanity area with coffee and tea. The bathroom shower was large enough for my 6"4 husband to move around comfortably. Breakfast is offered daily at an additional cost and is varied and plentiful. A nice amenity to start your day. The coffee machine is AMAZING! They have so many eclectic touches- complimentary postcards, coffee, umbrellas and a selfie wall. The staff are very kind and helpful and the location is a few short blocks to several restaurants and the tram. A big thank you to the staff, especially Christian and the other morning breakfast person who made our stay wonderful. TIPS Opt for breakfast in advance. Plenty of seating and food options for everyone. Outlets to charge your phone and a record player. Lots of stairs but they do have a very small slow elevator. If you need to eat in one night the breakfast area with cheese and wine from a local shop is a good option. Complimentary umbrellas available to use during your stay. Also converters with a small refundable deposit. Look for the small trees lit with small twinkling lights flanking the hotel entrance when finding your way back in the evening.

Yelp
We could not have been more delighted with Mr. Jordaan Hotel. Perfectly located, walking distance to everything, and the staff is wonderful. The rooms are smallish but you're never in your room in Amsterdam! It's very affordable and you really do get a lot for your money-- we were able to get two rooms (Europe is hard for rooms fitting more than two people) without breaking the bank, and our 17 yr old son loved having his own space. It feels like you're staying with friends, from the warm and casual vibe of the people manning the castle to the open service kitchen area-- we definitely made big use of the coffee machine! We're typically not joiners but we even added a family Polaroid to the memento wall. I can't imagine why we'd stay anywhere else when we return to Amsterdam. When it was time to leave, they arranged our taxi (at a discount) and gave us each a little goody bag for the trip to the airport. 10 stars out of 5!

Yelp
Nice quiet little hotel in a great location. The place has a very nice calm and friendly vibe. Just down a side street from the Ann Frank house. Our room has a great view on the canal right outside the front door of the hotel. Breakfast was good and they had snacks in the afternoon. Would surely go back!

Yelp
We stayed 3 nights at Mr Jordaan. We can not say enough about the staff - they were all wonderful and so helpful. the location of Mr. Jordaan is perfect if you are looking to stay in the Jordaan / Centrum area. It is located on a quiet street near the Saturday market and all of the great restaurants and Jordaan attractions! You can pay to have their breakfast each morning (which looked amazing with lots of options, if you have a gluten allergy let them know the day before and they will accommodate). Wine and tea are incluided. The rooms are very small - especially the bathrooms. We are very tall and there was no way i was shaving my legs in that shower! the building is great and has a lot of character, but depending on your location ( especially if facing the canal) be aware that it might be a bit noisy. The older building causes some creaks when people are walking up and down the stairs. All in all we enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
Usually I advocate hotels that are central or in between major attractions in a city. In the case of Amsterdam I would recommend any hotel located within "Centrum" - that is any hotel within the perimeter of the Singelgracht. In reality I wasn't really too fond of staying in the area closest to Amsterdam Centraal as much of it is inside "De Wallen", aka the infamous red light district. Research indicated that the Jordaan district in Amsterdam would be most ideal. Despite being closer to the outskirts of the city center, the Jordaan contains picturesque canal views of the city that most people romanticize about. Thus during the Amsterdam portion of the vacation my family and I stayed in the Jordaan. Per Rick Steves' guidebook and a few travel blogs I found out about this quaint yet charming hotel. A 9.0+ rating on booking.com solidified this choice. LOGISTICS - Free wifi. - Check-in: 2pm / Check-out: 11pm. - Cost: A triple share equaled to about ~€100/person. For my single I paid around €130. Keep in mind that even a "budget" option in Amsterdam is still expensive. - Continental breakfast spread advertised for €17/person. If you book it in advance it is reduced to €12. - 20 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal or take tram 13 or 17 to the Wester Church. - 5 minute walk from the Anne Frank house. I am a huge fan of staying at quirky boutique hotels and this hotel is the textbook definition of quirky. It definitely is geared towards the younger crowd with phone calls exclusively on What'sApp, empty bottles that can be refilled with water and a slow elevator that makes it more efficient to walk the stairs to and from your room. My parents didn't seem to mind though they were used to staying in more "traditional" rooms. Service was excellent. We always chatted with the staff when leaving for the day and coming back from sightseeing. They gave excellent restaurant recommendations and tips on navigating about the city (tip: Uber is actually affordable!) When I had to transfer to a single room to continue with the solo-travel portion of the Netherlands trip they moved all my luggage from the triple room without having to check-in again. Towards the end of my stay not only was I able to resolve the balances of both rooms, they even gave me (and my parents when they left a day earlier) a goodie bag filled with snacks for the road. This proved to be very useful as I hardly ever bought snacks from that point on. Breakfast was okay. It was filling as there was lots of bread but not worth €12. This was more for my parents as they didn't want the extra hassle to look for a breakfast spot every day. There were a few protein options - eggs salmon and 1-2 cold cuts. Outside of breakfast there's free self-serve coffee from a machine that can also do standard espresso-based drinks. As mentioned I got 2 rooms: a triple-share for the family and when they left I transferred to a single. - The triple share was a little more roomier than I expected. I'm used to small rooms in Europe so this was a pleasant surprise. - Single bed was standard size for Europe (read: small) but at least I was able to fit my luggage comfortably. - Convenient bedside setting: side table with a fan, electrical outlet with light. - If you're too lazy to go downstairs for coffee you can also make coffee upstairs. Stroopwafel included. - Bathrooms can be snug compared to the room. Shower essentials are now anchored to the shower, which is becoming standard practice nowadays. Should I come back to Amsterdam I would definitely book this hotel. I've already made several recommendations of my own to people interested in going to Amsterdam in the future. Many thanks to the staff at Mr. Jordaan for their hospitality.

Yelp
This hotel was amazing and in a beautiful neighborhood. The staff was super friendly - free coffee in the lobby available 24/7. Our only grievance would be the internet. But that would not prevent us from returning. Highly recommend.
